Descripción

Cosmic Pepper by Mancera is an oriental woody fragrance for men and women. Launched in 2023, this composition is signed by perfumer Pierre Montale. Upon opening, the scent unfolds a vibrant blend of lemon, sour lime, pink pepper, sage, and tangerine orange. The heart reveals an elegant mix of black pepper, Damask rose, and oud wood. Finally, the base settles on white musk, tonka bean, ambergris, oakmoss, and labdanum.

Smells great, very similar to Chanel’s Allure Sport, but with the same flaw: it doesn’t last long. To me, it leans more towards pepper, though overall it’s really good.

My expectations were very high because I love the pepper note and spicy perfumes, but after trying it, my expectations crumbled in minutes. This perfume with such an inspiring name has left me a bit disappointed… I expected something extremely spicy and cosmic, and it fell short. If I had to choose a cosmic pepper at a similar price point, I’d go for a classic like ‘Comme des Garçons 2’, an incredibly rich sweet-spiced perfume with a very realistic pepper. Or as an olfactory experience, ‘Blackpepper’ from the same house, although the latter has less longevity but much more explosiveness. In short, it doesn’t enchant or impress; it’s like a perfume for the back of the closet, something you buy on sale but you don’t feel especially well-dressed wearing it.

  • It left me a bit blown away because I detect a mix of two perfumes I’ve used my whole life: at first, the citrus of Allure Homme Sport, followed by a dry-down similar to Nuit de l’Homme, though less intense and sharp. It could be a valid alternative for anyone who likes Nuit; since it’s less dark, it’s more versatile—great for daytime but interesting for evening too, and with its citrus top notes, it works even in summer. I’ve only sprayed it once on my wrist, so I don’t know its longevity yet, but knowing that Montale is heavy and Nuit is sillage-heavy, this is a solid alternative for anyone who enjoys that scent. I’m actually thinking of buying it.

  • This perfume has driven me a bit crazy because I notice a mix of two perfumes I’ve used all my life. In the opening, the citrus of Allure Homme Sport is in the foreground, and as it progresses, the dry-down is very similar to La Nuit de l’Homme, though compared to it, it’s less intense or less sharp. It could be a valid alternative for anyone who likes La Nuit, since being less dark makes it much more versatile. Its scent is suitable for daytime, but interesting enough for evening, and although it’s not fresh, the citrus opening saves it even in summer. I’ve only sprayed it once on my wrist, so I have no idea about the performance, but knowing that Montale goes all out and La Nuit is a beast, this proposal is a solid alternative for anyone who enjoys that scent. I’m actually considering buying it myself. Cheers.

  • Polydistortion

I have at least three fragrances in my collection very similar to this line, but Mancera knows how to balance things to stand out from the crowd and justify its price; it’s a DELICIOUS treat.

  • I don’t usually write such simplistic reviews because perfumery is about inspiration; a great fragrance can be inspired by another, and this is exactly that case. It reminds me a lot of Chanel Allure HS Extreme, my signature scent for over 5 years, which brings back nostalgia since it was my dad’s first gift to me and we shared it until today. It also reminds me of its dry-down to Versace Pour Homme, which I use for the gym because of its freshness and simplicity. Nothing groundbreaking but good, maybe very good. Cosmic Pepper has that pepper-aromatic combo from Chanel, but here there’s a more pronounced citrus note and a less powdery, more mature musk; it’s more youthful and fresh, leaning towards Versace. It’s a winner, rich, round, and wearable for any occasion. It’s not as elegant as Allure nor as fleeting as Versace, but if you know both, you’ll love this.

  • I don’t usually write simple reviews with references because art in perfumery is about inspiration; a great fragrance can be inspired by others, and this is the case. Inspired by… I see a lot of similarity and inspiration to Chanel Allure HS Extreme, one of my signature scents for over 5 years, which I naturally love and brings me nostalgia since it was my first gift from my father and we’ve worn it together until today. It also reminds me of the dry-down of another one I use a lot for the gym for its simplicity and very wearable freshness: Versace Pour Homme. No surprises, but very good. Cosmic Pepper from the opening to the dry-down has the pepper-aromatic combo of Chanel, but here I find a more pronounced citrus note and a musk treatment that’s less powdery, less mature, more youthful and fresh, turning into Versace’s dry-down. It’s a winner, rich, round, and wearable 4×4 for any occasion. In a nutshell: it’s not as elegant as Allure nor as fleeting as Versace, but if you know both, it might not evoke anything new for you, but you’ll like it for sure.

  • Buy blind with high expectations of finding a decent long-lasting substitute for Allure Homme Sport Extreme, since that one only lasts 1.5 hours. What did I find? An opening with a sharp lemon and lots of pink pepper. The opening isn’t bad, but I prefer Chanel’s tangerine to this lemon. The pepper is excellent. However, after a few minutes, a facet appears that I absolutely hate: I ended up with Instant Crush—a very sweet flower, exactly like the one in Instant, too loud, sugary, and feminine. That facet fades after an hour, leaving the musk to dominate. The pepper drops from the start but stays for 5 hours. It ends up being a mix of the three facets rising and falling, always present, with the lemon only showing up for a few minutes. Scent 7/10 if not for the feminine touch; maybe it would be a 9.5. Here, the Chanel Allure Sport line takes the crown. Longevity is very good, over 8 hours. Projection is great, around 3 hours. Sillage is moderate to high without being overwhelming. Very versatile. Verdict: good, and that’s it, but I feel it’s a pity it was so close to being excellent… It stumbled over the feminine touch.

Does it resemble Chanel Allure Eau Extrême? Yes, it does, but with better quality, greater longevity, and a better price, at least in my country where Mancera is cheaper than any Chanel.

  • Lizarazog

I don’t see any relation to Allure; I don’t know why they compare them; this smells more like La Nuit de l’Homme. It’s not fantastic, and I can’t figure out when to wear it; I prefer the scent of Chanel or Versace, which don’t resemble each other to me.

I don’t see any relation to Allure; I don’t know why people compare them; this one is more like La Nuit De L Homme. It’s nothing fantastic, and I can’t figure out when to wear it. I prefer Chanel or Versace, which definitely don’t resemble this one.

  • There are conflicting opinions, and it’s true that everything is subjective. To keep it brief: while it starts fresh with pink pepper nuances, it has no real connection to Versace Pour Homme or AHS; it feels more synthetic. The surprise comes when it dries down, where it gets closer to Versace Eros. It sits between a classic EDT and Flame nuances, but with a Mancera vibe. It keeps the good longevity typical of the house. Try it on your skin.

  • Slightly citrusy. It’s not a clone of Allure Home; the resemblance is minimal. The trail is weak and lasts about 4 hours, staying close to the skin. Don’t expect compliments since it’s almost invisible; I recommend spraying it a lot because it’s harmless. Scent 8/10, Sillage 4/10, Longevity 5/10. For the price, I’d suggest checking out Misoni Wave instead.
