Descripción

Boss The Scent Intense by Hugo Boss is a spicy aromatic fragrance for men. Launched in 2017, this composition was created by Bruno Jovanovic and Pascal Gaurin. Upon release, cardamom and ginger deliver a vibrant first impact; the heart reveals the freshness of maninka and lavender; while the base settles on a warm blend of leather, vanilla, and woody notes.

  • A sweet perfume that feels a bit rough at first due to the woods and spices. There’s also a defined leather note that gives way to a subtle sweet fruity touch. This note is felt throughout the development and gains strength as the perfume settles. In the dry down, the vanillas emerge, which is the part I enjoy most. At times, it reminds me of Kouros Silver and The One Eau de Parfum by D&G. Its longevity stands out, which is good, although its trail is moderate.

  • For me, it’s better than Scent, fresher. It seems like Boss Bottled but more herbaceous. It’s long-lasting, ideal for young people and daily wear.

  • The Scent Intense is a fruity woody fragrance with spicy notes that definitely has more punch than its predecessor, The Scent. In fact, I liked it a bit more. As they said, this version is more intense, especially in the vanilla, leather, and a certain type of amber notes, though it still keeps that fruity essence I believe is the identity of this house. To me, it feels like a modernized version of Boss Bottled. It doesn’t project much, but it’s quite long-lasting on the skin; at least for me, it lasted over 12 hours. In my opinion, its appropriate use would be autumn or fresh spring days, and it could even work for winter. Otherwise, it has a bit of nighttime playfulness too.

Scent Intense is another example that rushing product launches doesn’t always pay off. If this had been the original proposal, it would have held its own against designers using that aromatic trinity: leather, vanilla, cardamom… I really liked the masculine balance here, which adds an intense spicy freshness, where the leather and vanilla give it a sensual and attractive character. Honestly, I liked this intense version… but it’s a shame to see it in the shadow of its mother fragrance, which passed without making a mark. However, I believe that even if it’s not a commercial success, Intense is a quite commendable fragrance for its well-rounded construction. It’s perfect for long trips, where it stands tall with dignity in any situation. Recommended test.

It’s a good fragrance; you can tell they use quality ingredients, but even though it’s intense, it barely evolves. The opening is sweet, dark, and minimally spicy, but on my nose, the notes feel stuck together, coming out as a single scent without nuances. If you like dark, very sweet fragrances, this is for you, but if you’re looking for something livelier with clear notes and a perceptible evolution, I wouldn’t recommend it.

  • I still don’t get what’s the point of Hugo Boss nowadays. It seems like the end goal of their fragrances is to annoy any living being brave enough to smell them. We have another ‘bomb’ from this house trying to get closer to a fruity-gourmand combo, rather than the sweet-amber signature in most of their launches. Translation: we’re going to add an exotic fruit to the leather-vanilla-cardamom combo everyone uses. Groundbreaking (hint: no). The result is practically non-existent synthetic leather, a rancid fruit you can’t quite distinguish, and a vanilla more like alcoholic beverage than proper perfume. The good thing is that, once it dries down, it stops smelling like something you stole from a restaurant bathroom and starts smelling like generic medicine. Pure magic. I have to admit it doesn’t smell terrible on my partner, but, outside of this ultra-specific context, it’s one of the worst fragrances I’ve smelled in the last year and a half. If it were from Zara, I’d still think the horror was normal, but this costs at least 57 euros… please, a little seriousness. There are a thousand designer fragrances with this same combo that don’t smell like manure. Tried others before deciding on this, just in case you avoid the disaster.

  • I still can’t figure out Hugo Boss’s trick nowadays. It seems their only goal is to annoy anyone daring enough to wear their fragrances. This new bomb tries to mix gourmand with fruity notes instead of their classic sweet-amber vibe. Basically, they just add an exotic fruit to the leather-vanilla-cardamom combo everyone else is already using. No news here (spoiler: zero). The result is non-existent synthetic leather, a rancid fruit that blends in, and a diner-style dessert vanilla. The only good thing is that once it dries down, it stops smelling like a restaurant bathroom and turns into generic medicine. Pure magic. My partner likes it, but outside that very specific context, it’s one of the worst fragrances I’ve heard in a year and a half. If it were from Zara, I’d get it, but this costs €57… please, a little seriousness. There are a thousand other designer fragrances with this same combo that don’t smell like manure. Try those before you dive into this disaster.

  • The Scent line is a nightmare. The scents are jarring and while they do make a presence, they do it very poorly; they just don’t convince me.
