The perfume smells rich, but on my skin, it’s nothing masculine. The mandarin fades quickly, and in the end, all that’s left is a strong vanilla scent. I had high hopes, but ultimately, I didn’t like it.
What a downgrade for a designer brand. In my opinion, it lacks its own personality. It starts with apple and vanilla, but that last note lingers alone—it’s a super thick vanilla, almost like it’s raising your blood sugar. It smells 100% unisex, but it’s not for me. It’s the worst in the The Scent line, not even worth a firework. Ideal for people 25 and under. What a start to 2023, talk about a letdown.
What a letdown from the designer sector. In my opinion, it smells like a soulless perfume. It opens with mandarin and vanilla, but that last note ends up as a lonely queen—a super sticky vanilla that spikes your blood sugar. 100% unisex aroma. Not for me; this type of fragrance isn’t my style. The worst in the The Scent line, and it’s not even worth the hype. Only for under 25s. What a start to 2023, talk about a letdown.
For vanilla and coconut lovers, this fragrance is a magnet. I see it more as a night-out scent, something carefree. It shares the same DNA as the original, but with that vanilla and coconut that, even if not listed, are absolutely noticeable. It’s sparkling, so use it in moderation; don’t overdo it.
Incredibly vanilla-forward, sensual, and excellent.
Definitely the best version of The Scent; the original is dominated by leather and apple, though its performance is poor. This Magnetic is just sweet, more feminine than masculine. Honestly, these super-sweet fragrances are getting tiresome; they make me miss vintage scents and are totally dispensable.
For those who love vanilla and coconut, this fragrance is fascinating. I see it more for night out, nothing formal. It has the same DNA as the original Scent but with that vanilla and coconut that, even if not listed in the notes, you can definitely smell. It’s sparkling, with very few sillage—max three meters. I liked it if used in moderation.
The opening is spectacular, but the dry-down leaves a lot to be desired.
For me, the absolute queen of The Scent. Simple and sensual, perfect for people aged 20 to 35 who want to hit the clubs. The only thing that doesn’t convince me is the price: 60€ for how little it lasts on the skin. 7.5/10.
For me, the best of The Scent. Simple and sensual. I see it for people aged 20 to 35, youthful, perfect for going out to parties. What I dislike the most is the price: €60 for what little it offers in terms of notes. 7.5/10.
It’s not bad if you like it, but it smells heavily of vanilla and is very linear: vanilla opening and then the same all the time. It’s cloying. Excellent longevity (+8h). I didn’t buy it again, but for this style, it has good performance.
Fruity and vanilla scent, like passion fruit juice and vanilla. Curious and different, I appreciate that. Bitter vanilla base. Very unisex. Longevity 8-9h, normal projection. Spring-fall. Versatile: daily or dinner, not parties. Price 65-70€: unjustifiable for Hugo Boss.
Boss The Scent Magnetic is oriental, sweet, and vanilla-based. Sweet and fruity opening, then vanilla with subtle maninka. Slightly floral (lavender/amber). For winter, not for summer. Longevity >8h with a trail for the first hour. It’s the sweetest and most generic in the line, close to The Most Wanted, Born in Roma Intense, or Libre. Pleasant, but it fits the current sweet trend.
Boss The Scent for Him Magnetic is oriental, sweet, vanilla-scented, and aromatic. Very sweet opening, slightly fruity. It quickly settles into vanilla with the typical mandarin touch found in The Scent, but here it’s quite subtle—in fact, it’s the version where it stands out the least. It also has a floral note, like lavender, and a bit of amber. Being sweet, it’s for winter and cold days; I wouldn’t recommend it for summer. Longevity is over 8 hours with notable projection for the first hour, then it fades. Out of the entire The Scent line, it’s the sweetest and most unisex, and also the most generic. It shares similarities with The Most Wanted, Valentino Uomo Born in Roma Intense, or YSL Libre. That doesn’t make it bad; it’s pleasant and I like it, it just fits the trend of recent sweet and vanilla launches.
It’s not just vanilla with a powdery touch; you can also detect the fruity side, with mandarin standing out in the opening. The vanilla is there from the start through to the dry down, and the musk gives it a creamy vibe. Definitely gourmand. Performance is average, about 6 hours, though the projection is good for the first hour. It smells nice, but it’s not original. If you’re a fan of vanilla or the The Scent line, give it a try; otherwise, it’s dispensable. Totally unisex.
It’s not just powdery vanilla; the fruit (maninka) stands out at the start. The vanilla persists until the dry-down, and the powder makes it creamy. It’s gourmand. Performance is average (6h), good projection for the first hour. Smells good but isn’t original. If you like vanilla or The Scent line, give it a try; otherwise, it’s dispensable. Totally unisex.
Very good perfume, but an intense vanilla smell. The only downside: after a few hours, the projection is zero, and people around say it smells like nothing.
Potent vanilla at the start, but when it dries on my skin it’s bland and scentless. Smells like a 2020s trend, without any charm. Test it first and wait for the dry-down. More of the same, unfortunately.
Sweet and fruity opening; I really liked it. It follows the sweet JPG line; I recall Le Male Lover and Le Beau. When it dries down, it’s more powdery than Le Male Parfum, which is the only thing I didn’t like. Good longevity and projection. Ideal for cold evenings or everyday wear if you don’t overdo it. The most unisex scent for men I’ve smelled, it works well on women too.
Although not described, it smells like coconut, similar to Le Beau by JPG but more intense and almost very unisex.
Even though they don’t list it in the notes, this smells like coconut. It reminds me a bit of JPG’s Beau, but more intense with that almost unisex touch that gives it character.
Extremely linear. Maninka is potent at the start and the end. It smells good, unique, and different, but I don’t recommend buying blind. Since it’s always the same aroma and so peculiar, it can be overwhelming if you don’t test it first.
I gave in to the hype and went to try it; the scent is nice, but it doesn’t last even 30 minutes. After years with Stronger With You, I can’t stand soft vanillas anymore. Major disappointment. Stores should offer samples to test for days, not just on little strips.
