Wanted by Night by Azzaro

A timeless scent that’s no longer available… I fondly remember its 2018 launch, my first signature. It was an elegant bomb of citrus, cinnamon, and woody tobacco, a brutal combination. Unfortunately, it was discontinued and is now hard to find. I recently picked up a bottle of Wanted by Night out of nostalgia, but it’s not what I remembered. The remaining batches seem reformulated; the opening is a shrill orange, almost candy-like, far from that elegance. Fortunately, as it dries down, the DNA of tobacco and cinnamon remains. Longevity and sillage are decent, but they aren’t the projection bomb of before. I don’t keep it in rotation; it’s just a collector’s piece. I wouldn’t recommend it today; the Most Wanted line has more staying power. Only buy it if you’re a lifelong fan moved by nostalgia, not if you’re looking for something new.

As I mentioned, I bought it and at first it gave me youthful, party-like impressions. I’ve worn it at night before bed, and contrary to what reviewers aged 28-30 said that it was ‘mature and dark’, I see it differently: you don’t perceive the background tobacco or leather. The incense, maybe, is very soft, like Dylan Blue but almost non-existent. What really stands out is the sweet, friendly patchouli. It’s super youthful, fruity, and sweet, with vanilla undertones. It has no maturity or darkness. Ideal for young folks aged 15 to 25, perfect for ‘firing off foam bullets’.

In Spain, this fragrance was discontinued quite some time ago. It was sold for a while with the reformulation by the new distributor, but it had nothing to do with the original formula: watery notes, many missing, poor projection, and short longevity, which was already an issue with the 2018 version, though to a lesser extent. I don’t know if it’s still sold anywhere, but it hasn’t been in stores for ages. It was reformulated and then delisted from the WANTED AZZARO line. I had the original and now I keep the ‘bad’ one as a memory. It had a youthful vibe with mature tendencies; the reformulation made it more youthful but with terrible performance.

A perfume that, although not my favorite, fulfills its function: it’s elegant and attractive. It’s the one that gets the most compliments in my collection despite wearing it for a short time. It has a spicy aroma from the cinnamon that combines with the mandarin and pleases everyone. I don’t perceive some listed notes like tobacco or vanilla, perhaps because they haven’t settled yet. At first, it didn’t last long, but over time, longevity improved exponentially. Good perfume if you’re looking for something mature, long-lasting, and that generates compliments.

Cinnamon with character! ⚠️ Only for cinnamon fans. It starts with lavender and citrus, but within seconds, cinnamon takes over, mixed with wood, tobacco, and patchouli. The first hours are intense; the only thing that bothers me is a synthetic ‘cinnamon gum’ note. As it dries down, an herbal facet emerges that completely changes the game. It’s rich, but not for everyone. Test it on your skin and wait an hour before deciding. I don’t see it as unisex: it’s a masculine cinnamon scent with a lot of personality. Note: 8/10. It’s not bad, just not universal.

There’s not much more to add, as everything has already been said… but it’s incredible. My only drawback is that I live in Mérida (Yucatán, Mexico), where it’s around 35°C. If you live in a temperate or cold climate, it’s highly recommended. It’s a gem, like all perfumes in this line.

Perfect for cool or cold nights: it gives warmth and leaves a mark, ideal for dates. Not a masterpiece, but it delivers, stands out, and wins. Scent: 10. Projection: good (intense for over 2 hours). Longevity: 7-8 hours. Recommended.

Wanted by Night is a modern gem: it blends cinnamon, cedar, and tobacco with class. It smells captivating and sophisticated, perfect for bold people who want to stand out. The notes evolve beautifully, creating an aura that draws eyes. It lasts a long time and defines your adventurous yet refined style. Unforgettable for evenings.

Rich, sweet, but not cloying, maybe thanks to the cumin. On my skin, it lasts about 10 hours and projects well with a decent trail. It’s versatile, fitting both casual and elegant vibes. I compared it to The Most Wanted: this one smells better and lasts longer (the other only lasted 4 hours).

I don’t usually complain about perfumes because each has its highs and lows, but with over 300 in my collection, I can assure you that the performance of this cologne is ridiculous. It disappointed me in everything except the scent, which is a solid vibe for afternoon or night. What a letdown… There are Mercadona perfumes that beat this on all sides. I don’t know if it’s my batch, but if they all act like this, it’s throwing money away. End.

Smells like detergent, but in a good way. I absolutely love it. It’s dominated by tobacco with lots of fruit, but that clean note is exactly what gives me that soapy sensation.
