Bois d’Argent is, without a doubt, a well-constructed and elegant perfume. You can tell there’s quality in the composition; it’s delicate, refined, and has that classic air of sobriety. However, in my case, it failed to generate a special emotion. I find it sweet at the start, with a serious and somewhat traditional profile. It’s not loud or modern; it has a restrained character, even with a nuance that recalls classics. It’s pleasant, smells good, but it didn’t produce that immediate ‘click’ for me when a perfume connects with your DNA. The longevity was good and the evolution correct, but it didn’t radically change my initial perception. It’s a perfume I respect more than I love. I’ll probably use it again to give it a second chance before drawing a final conclusion. For now, I value it as an elegant, well-made fragrance, though not especially exciting for my personal taste.

Bois d’Argent is a well-constructed, elegant perfume with quality blending—delicate and refined, carrying that classic air of sobriety. But for me, it just didn’t click or deliver that special emotional spark. I’d define it as talc-like and astringent (not in a bad way). It doesn’t feel particularly clean. From my olfactory repertoire, I detect an intrusive iris, myrrh, and woods. A touch of earthy patchouli and amber. I like it, but I wouldn’t buy it. I’ve been using it from a 5ml decant.

I’d describe it as powdery and astringent (not in a bad way). It doesn’t smell as clean as I expected. Out of everything I’ve tried, what stands out is an intrusive iris, myrrh, and woods. There’s a bit of earthy patchouli and amber. I like it, but I wouldn’t buy it. I’ve been testing it from a 5 ml decant.

Magnificent subtle perfume. The iris notes are its most defining characteristic. It reminds me a bit of Prada’s Infusion D’Iris, though less intense.

Subtle and magnificent perfume. The iris notes are the most distinctive. It reminds me a bit of Prada’s Infusion D’Iris, just less intense.

Everything in perfect balance: sweet but not cloying, long-lasting but not overpowering, soft yet that softness endures for hours. A true delicacy for those who love powdery scents of iris, musk, myrrh, and leather. I don’t detect the honey mentioned in the pyramid, and honestly, I’m glad, as I usually don’t enjoy that note. It was a treat gifted to me on Three Kings’ Day that I haven’t repurchased due to the price. I enjoyed it because this perfume is simply wonderful.

Bois d’Argent has me completely hooked. I understand what people mean when they say it smells like baby powder, but elevated to the highest power. It’s a unique iris, very Dior—intense yet tamed, blended with resins and a perfect touch of honey that drives me wild. I adore the woody dry down. A powdery wood with subtle green notes, soaked in a soft honey… It would be the little sister to Ambre Nuit from the same collection, but in my opinion, this Bois d’Argent is cleaner and more addictive. Super versatile, pleasant, delicious, rich, and expensive. My drug of choice.

Great scent. I didn’t expect it to smell like this. It has green and resinous notes that might remind you of Fille en Aiguilles, but with those notes toned down significantly. Above it all, you have honey, myrrh, and a touch of floral iris, though it’s not a typical iris. A very original, pleasant, and well-balanced fragrance with good longevity… although the projection seems a bit weak.

It’s too impersonal and lacks a clear identity. That makes it very wearable, but I prefer perfumes with more presence—ones that make you love or hate them. This is just a soft scent that won’t offend anyone.

After an hour, it smells like baby wet wipes, similar to Kenzo’s Poppy, with a faint woody touch. In short, it’s not worth it.

Could this be somewhat similar to Les Secrets Iris by Equivalenza?

Bois D’Argent smells like talcum powder and sweetness very feminine in my opinion. The iris dominates over a balsamic backdrop of myrrh vanilla and honey. At first the iris is shy overshadowed by the fresh green of cypress and berries. Then the myrrh and iris gain strength but the honey makes it too sweet. Gradually it sweetens further with amber and vanilla tones leaving a talcum-powdered iris bathed in sweetness where you can detect vanilla myrrh honey and amber. After that it barely evolves; in the dry down there’s a hint of wood very faint and unremarkable. The longevity is excellent around 9 hours with moderate sillage from the start. Ideal for cold or mild weather and only for night; the heat and its excessive sweetness could be overwhelming. I like it a bit though it could be indifferent to me. What isn’t indifferent to me is the price: an unjustified robbery of my wallet. It may have quality and a pretty bottle but the perfume isn’t worth the cost. I won’t be buying it again. I recommend testing it before buying blindly. If you grab a bottle of Zara’s ‘Rich Warm Addictive’ and add iris and a touch of myrrh voilà! That’s Bois D’Argent—it smells just like Zara but with those extra touches.

Bois D’Argent is a powdery, sweet aroma, quite feminine in some moments for my taste, with a dominant iris note over a sweet, balsamic base of myrrh, vanilla, and honey. At first, you smell the iris on a sweet myrrh base, but timidly, as if eclipsed by the balsamic greenery of cypress and berries—green, fresh, and sweet. After a while, the myrrh and iris become more noticeable, but now, in the background, the honey starts to show, making it too sweet for my liking. Gradually, the scent becomes even sweeter, gaining amber and vanilla tones, resulting in a powdery iris fragrance overwhelmed by sweetness, where you can detect the vanilla, myrrh, honey, and amber. From here on, the scent shows little development, with only a very faint and subtle woody dry-down that’s barely noticeable and not worth mentioning. Performance is excellent, lasting over 9 hours, with a moderate trail from the start. Perfect for cold or temperate climates and only for evening wear; I think the heat and its excessive sweetness could be overwhelming. I like the perfume a bit, but not much—though I could also be indifferent. What I’m not indifferent to is the price: it’s a steal from my wallet with no justification; the perfume may have quality, a nice bottle, and everything else, but the scent itself isn’t worth the cost. I certainly won’t buy it again. I recommend trying it before buying blindly. To give you a rough idea, if you take a bottle of Zara’s ‘Rich Warm Addictive’ and add iris and a touch of myrrh, voilà! You’ve got Bois D’Argent—it smells exactly like the Zara one, just with those extra notes.

The refined woody nuances of iris are what the top notes bring: light, less intense than in Dior Homme, and more delicate. Over time, a soft patchouli base appears, along with a faint impression of myrrh that fades very slowly but lingers, semi-sweet. You can also detect amber, cypress, patchouli, honey, and vanilla.
Upon applying it, I understood the ‘Silver’ in the name: it comes out cold and metallic. Then the wood emerges, like sweet, pleasant sawdust. Later, it settles into a powdery iris with potent beeswax, giving me the impression of myrrh, resins, and honey, even though they aren’t listed. Overall, it’s warm, spicy, resinous, and sweet. It has strong sillage and lasts 9 hours on my skin. It’s one of the best in the line for its originality and deserves a try, but if you don’t like honey, better avoid it. Scent 7/10, longevity 9/10, sillage 7.5/10, value for money 6/10, versatility 6.5/10, packaging 7/10. Would I buy it again? I haven’t purchased it yet.
I’ve never tried the 2004 version, but this smells like dust and wood with a moderate sweetness and a very subtle iris; it felt quite weak and short-lived, though I’ve mixed it with others several times. I’ll try it alone on my skin again and update this review.
