Paco Rabanne RockStar works well for me, but Black XS L’Exces is a whole other story: floral-oriental, misty, and romantic. The pepper is there from the start, not overpowering, giving that dry, warm touch that contrasts beautifully with the neroli overload. Even though it’s intense, it’s intoxicating and perfect for night. It deserves the ‘Excess’ in the name because it pushes ingredients to the limit with its own personality, standing out from its predecessor without losing appeal. The flowers and vanilla enrich the blend. If I had to compare it to a band, it’d be Def Leppard dueting with Taylor Swift; picture her wearing it 😀
Paco Rabanne has gone full RockStar, and I respect that 🙂 But to me, this perfume sounds more floral-oriental, airy, romantic, and sweet than rocker. The pepper is noticeable from the start without being overwhelming or giving goosebumps, which is great. It has just the right touch for that dry, hot sensation that contrasts nicely with the excessive neroli, which is at the limit but not suffocating, intoxicating for the night. It deserves the ‘Excess’ suffix for pushing its ingredients to the limit, with its own personality and as attractive as the original (depends on taste). The other flowers and vanilla are also noticeable and enrich the version. If I compared it to a band, it’d be Def Leppard dueting with Taylor Swift… I can imagine them wearing it! 😀
I love Black XS, but this version is a total no-go… Honestly, I keep it only because I got a ton of samples and have no idea what to do with them; there’s no way I can wear it. However, I absolutely LOVE Black XS, seriously 😉
I love Black XS, but this version I absolutely hate. In fact, I have it because I was gifted a ton of samples and have no idea what to do with them; there’s no way to wear it. However, regular Black XS makes me ENTHUSIASTICALLY happy, seriously 😉
I really love it, it’s sexy and so rich. Every time I wear it, I get tons of compliments. Highly recommended…
Rich and addictive. I wanted to wear it all the time, but my skin ruins it thanks to the damn pepper. A curious and delicious mix of neroli and pepper.
Smells like red wine… Hard to wear with any style. But the Black XS EDT version is quite rich; I agree with Harpagofita.
It’s a real treat for the night, lasts on the skin, pleasant and sexy. I like it more than Black XS. I recommend it to girls looking for addictive, strong fragrances 😉
Black XS L’Excess for women felt too generic to me. No offense intended, but I’m getting tired of the overuse of jasmine in women’s perfumes, which tends to drown out the other notes instead of blending subtly. Here, it’s jasmine and rose with a smoky touch, perhaps from the pepper. What about the neroli? The cashmere wood? Beautiful notes that are completely absent. Not even the vanilla feels significant. The bottle is gorgeous, but unfortunately, the contents don’t match up. The sillage is poor. Scent: 3/10, Versatility: 6/10, Trail: 3/10, Longevity: 4/10.
Black XS L’Excess for women feels very generic. No offense, but I’m tired of the overuse of jasmine in female fragrances; it tends to swamp the scent rather than blend well. Here it’s just jasmine and rose with a smoky hint (maybe pepper). Where’s the neroli or cashmere wood? Those beautiful notes are completely missing, and the vanilla is barely there. The bottle is gorgeous, too bad the contents don’t match. Poor longevity. Scent: 3/10, Versatility: 6/10, Sillage: 3/10, Longevity: 4/10
Oh, Paco, what a joy seeing the bottle, I almost cried. But once I tried it, total disappointment. It smells bad, doesn’t last, and feels like anything else. They tried to go for a rocker style and failed; it feels cloying, strong but in the wrong way. I don’t like it 🙁
It’s an intense fragrance, clearly for night use. Achieving both intensity and youthfulness is difficult, but this manages it. It conveys the feeling of a bold and sexy personality.
It’s a powerful perfume, perfect for night out. Balancing intensity with a youthful vibe is tough, but this pulls it off. It gives off a bold, sexy energy.
I absolutely love it! I’ve been wearing it since it hit the market, and it’s crazy to think about ever stopping. ♥
I just bought it and I absolutely love it! Rocker perfume! I’ll never get tired of using it.
Yesterday I finished the last bit of this gem, an excellent perfume that’s no longer available in Argentina. I hope they relaunch it. It’s a night fragrance unlike any other.
I love it. One of my favorite perfumes. Every time I wear it, I get compliments. It’s rocker and cool.
I prefer the Black XS.
A worthy representative of the oriental floral family with vanilla. On my skin, it has moderate projection and acceptable longevity, about 6 hours. I consider it sexy, bold, and sensual, ideal for going out at night. I used it in all kinds of weather, I enjoyed the perfume, but I didn’t fall in love with it and never bought it again.
I didn’t know they were discontinuing this bottle and its fragrance; otherwise, I would have saved the last two drops. I loved wearing it so much; people always asked what I was wearing, it lasted until the next day, and I felt powerful. It was my partner’s first gift to me, and he adored it. I looked for its ‘substitute,’ the Black XS Black Excess, hoping it would match the skull and rose vibe, but it didn’t: short longevity, pronounced wood, dry, no flowers, and only a slight sweetness. It brings back memories, but it’s far from my beloved L’Excess.
I didn’t know they would discontinue this bottle and its fragrance; otherwise, I would have taken better care of the two drops left. I liked wearing it; people always asked what I was using, it lasted until the next day, and I felt powerful. It was the first perfume my partner gave me, and he loved it. I looked for a substitute, the Black XS Black Excess, hoping it would be like the skull and rose, but it wasn’t. Its longevity is short, it’s pronounced wood, dry, floral-free, and lightly sweet. It brings back memories, but it’s far from my beloved L’Excess.
In an era where star scents are sweet, mass-produced, and unoriginal, Black XS L’Exces committed the sin of being different. Even though it uses popular notes, it did so from another perspective, with a different light. It’s strength, uniqueness, and contrast—something I love and that captivates me. Upon spraying, you catch the pepper, neroli, and citrus, and soon a jasmine emerges with a soft rose over vanilla, bitter cocoa, cashmere wood, and a hint of leather. It’s a rollercoaster of contrasts: intense flowers that don’t overpower the woody sparkles. It might confuse, but that mystery invites you to decipher it, like a seduction game it plays very well. Ideal for cool party nights. On my dry skin, it lasts over 8 hours, with a strong trail at first and moderate afterward. Worth trying at least for the experience, since it’s discontinued.
In an era where star scents are sweet, mass-produced, and lack creativity, Black XS L’Exces was the original sin. While it uses popular notes, it saw them from a different perspective, which cost it its existence. This perfume is power, difference, and rebellion—something I love and get hooked on. Oh my god, this perfume is by far the worst I’ve ever tried. Seriously, it smells like petroleum. It reminds me of some cheap biodegradable detergent. Horrible, I can’t stand it, it gives me a headache. It smells like nothing else but petroleum. I bought it blindly and it was a disappointment.
My signature scent for years. I’ve always loved it and treat the last few milliliters like gold. It’s a dark, sexy winter night fragrance where you can smell every note. I’ve gotten so many compliments; it’s a shame it’s discontinued. Nothing like the original Black XS. It has incredible longevity on skin, lasting over 8 hours, with a soft yet noticeable trail. It’s super original, and I’d love to find another fragrance like this.
My signature scent for years. I’ve always loved it and I’m still guarding the last few milliliters like gold. It’s a dark, sexy winter night fragrance where you can smell all the notes. I’ve gotten tons of compliments. It’s a shame it’s discontinued; it has nothing to do with Black XS. It has incredible skin longevity, over 8 hours, with a soft but present sillage. It’s super original, and I’d love to find another fragrance in that style.
Oh my god, this is the worst perfume I’ve ever tried. It smells like petroleum, like cheap biodegradable detergent. Horrible, I can’t stand it, and it gives me a headache. It smells like nothing but petroleum. I bought it blindly and it was a total letdown.
I thought I’d love it based on the notes, but it turned out to be a really sharp, foul-smelling vintage floral. It has great projection and longevity, but it’s definitely not my style.
