Descripción

Armani Code Parfum by Giorgio Armani is an aromatic woody fragrance for men. Launched in 2022, this olfactory composition was created by perfumer Antoine Maisondieu. The fragrance pyramid unfolds with top notes of bergamot and bergamot leaves; a heart of iris, aldehydes, statice, and lily-of-the-valley root; and a base blending tonka bean and cedar.

  • It doesn’t smell soapy like the previous reviewer said, not at all; it smells subtle and elegant. If it smells like talc, that’s just how it is. I’ve been wearing the classic Code EDT since 2010 and I say that with age, the fragrance matures too; you leave the classic for this one, which gives the impression of being “more mature.” Irony: it seems more feminine, perhaps due to the iris or lily root. It lasts longer and feels dense and heavy. If you were a fan of the EDT and have aged a bit, consider switching, although I don’t see it as very versatile. As a Code fan, I don’t think it’s irrelevant to have both. I don’t know why it gives me a vibe of Scandal.

It’s not a bad fragrance. For me, it’s unisex, with a commercial and generic vibe, typical of the sweet and party atmosphere, far from my favorites. It’s similar to Versace Eros, but the latter is superior because it has its own identity and is more masculine. It also reminds me of Ralph’s Club, same generic vibe. Due to the iris note (and perhaps violet), I think it would suit a woman better than a man.

The opening and most of the fragrance’s life smell alcoholic. It has little evolution, dries out quickly, and stays static. It smells generic, even like cheap pharmacy perfume, although there are decent options there too. Maybe it’s just a regular catalog fragrance. For the price and aroma, I don’t even feel like detailing its performance. I wouldn’t recommend it; there are 100 similar perfumes and 100 better ones. Even Lattafa Qaed Al Fursan smells more interesting. The iris and lily root are barely noticeable; they were very stingy. In the final dry down, it improves a bit (becomes soapy), but not enough.

  • If a scorching night between JPG Parfum and Armani Code EdT had a baby, this flanker would be it. It plays at seducing, projecting elegance, and making a subtle impression. Tonka, iris, and lavender: those are the notes that summarize it. A delicious combination that has earned me many compliments. Performance is above average for designer fragrances, with a good sillage and longevity. Use it for the office, dates, or dinners; very versatile, though not for heat. Rating 9/10.

I smelled this fragrance in a store and my mind was blown from the first moment. It’s rich, seductive, and my wife said it was better than other perfumes she wears. It’s elegant and sophisticated. It reminds me of the Code EDT 2003, but it’s not as citrusy or spring-like; it smells like a clean, mysterious, and super refined man. Lasts 9 hours on skin and over 12 on clothes. Sillage is regular (1.5 meters with 5 sprays). Use it formally or casually. It’s my signature. For men over 20. It’s a bit pricey, buy the 50ml and refill it. Smells like a neat, clean, and imposing man.

  • Take the sweetness and warmth out of Le Male Le Parfum and add a fresh, aromatic touch: this is magic! It smells clean, spicy, elegant, and versatile. It steps up a category and works for almost anything, even if it’s not the top pick for any specific occasion. It has a powdery note, nothing subtle. Performance is good to moderate.

  • Curiously, I have the 2024 EDP because it smelled better at Primor. I tried it again and it smells great: clean, with a changing note that gives it life. I liked the EDP more, but this one has won me over with that sweetness paired with an excellent citrus top. Lasting power is superior to the EDP at the same price (49€ for 50ml). Highly recommended blind.

  • @Tomorrowsdust, you actually released an EDP before the Parfum; in fact, I still have one. In 2024, they dropped their ‘second’ EDP version—greetings!

It’s the iris-scented Armani fragrance, following the Le Male Le Parfum line: seductive, masculine, and sweet. It doesn’t aim for the gentleman elegance of Dior or Valentino, nor the cleanliness of Prada. On the plus side: it achieves a sweet yet masculine aroma, which is hard to find these days. On the minus side: personally, I prefer the EDT, although current batches lack longevity and body.

  • sebastianParfum98

I’ve been wearing this for 6 months. It smells luxurious in the store, but it didn’t sit well on my skin; people say I smell bad with Code Parfum, and maybe it’s just my chemistry. The scent is rich and elegant, inviting people to get closer, but beware: test it on your skin before buying! Update 2025: although it transforms for the worse on my skin, the projection is the opposite—provocative and elegant. I bought another bottle just for that.

Armani’s men’s commercial line only has three divisions: Stronger With You, Acqua Di Gio, and Armani Code. You wonder why they don’t release new proposals, but Armani is Armani. Their market research is huge, and all their new flankers are designed to please and become bestsellers. For Armani Code, in 2022, they took a risk with this proposal, jumping straight from the classic 90s EDT to the Parfum version, without betting on an EDP that eventually came out in 2024. A bold move that paid off big time. Wearing this is like being in a pleasant dream; it might not last as long as you’d like, but it’s a dream after all. It’s a totally versatile office fragrance, designed to please both men and women. You can wear it 24/7 at work, on dates, or for daily use, keeping in mind it has a short sillage, perfect for a refined and elegant man. Performance improves considerably compared to the EDT without reaching beast mode status, but the addition of iris makes it somewhat more unisex. However, when you wear it with a shirt and add your own personality, there’s no doubt about your masculine aura wherever you go. My favorite fragrance right now, 10/10. Fully recommended.

It’s not bad, but I don’t love it… it’s an attractive scent, just not better than others. For me, it’s not worth it.

  • Samael severino 08

Armani Code Parfum has a rich opening with spicy and woody notes that projects a clean office gentleman vibe. As it dries down, it smells like vanilla cream or ice cream thanks to the vanilla and tonka. I was disappointed by the longevity, though spraying it more often or using a decant makes it work great. I find it suitable for daily use, the office, work, or studying—perfect for enclosed spaces. 6/10.

  • SebastianC2702

I love this line; if I had to stick with one brand for life, it would be Armani—this line and the Acqua di Gio are top tier. This version is super fresh, perfect for everyday wear, timeless, masculine, neither too mature nor too youthful. I highly recommend it as a signature scent. I don’t really detect the iris, maybe because I was expecting something like Dior Homme Intense, but it’s nothing like that. If I hadn’t tried it, I wouldn’t have recognized it.

  • oliveera7

Armani Code is synonymous with discreet elegance. I consider it ideal for cold nights, special occasions, or going out. It has that mysterious vibe that doesn’t invade but leaves a mark. Its longevity is good, around 6-8 hours, with moderate projection that stays close to the skin. It conveys maturity and confidence effortlessly.

  • So good! This Armani proposal is excellent. It’s aromatic with aldehydes that give it that clean character, and combined with the iris, they add a very nice powdery and crisp touch. It’s a denser reinterpretation of the 2023 EDT; the Parfum is less aggressive, more balanced, with a warm, slightly powdery opening and an amber base that makes it more mature. While the EDT is popular and youthful, this vibrates more intimately and elegantly. It reminds me a bit of Scandal Le Parfum’s opening by Gaultier due to that creamy, resinous tonka bean, but here the sweetness is contained—it’s not gourmand, just enveloping. It’s not a dupe, but if you’ve tried Scandal, you’ll recognize that controlled warmth. The performance improves massively over the EDT: constant projection and superior longevity. It settles well in cool climates and is ideal for formal or evening settings. Apart from the original from 2004, this is the one I recommend most from the line for its quality and modern sophistication.

  • nachosleparfum

Since I smelled it at the perfumerie, I can’t stop thinking about it. It features a bright, powdery aromatic iris that intoxicates from the opening to the dry down, without forgetting the tonka bean that gives it the sweetness I’m obsessed with. It beats the EDT’s lavender. It’s super versatile: for daily wear, the office, a date, or something formal. Scent: 10/10, Projection: 6.5/10, Longevity: 8.5/10.

  • campeones22

Jose, Caravan 16 is a clone of Armani Code, but the EDT, the Parfum version brings other notes and is a more complete and better scent, of course.

  • What a beast of a perfume, perfect for any season and occasion. I tested it in-store and in decants, and that clean scent with the iris note I love is pure love. For me, it’s the ultimate signature scent all year round. Also, I found a Caravan (16) dupe at the supermarket that smells identical and costs a fortune.

  • Aurumperfumes.Col

A good perfume to wear with a shirt and tie is Armani Code Parfum. Tonka, powdery iris parts, and aromatic herbal caresses that stand out above all. The bubble and dry-down are supremely pleasant. For men who want to leave a mark, yes or yes.

  • matyvaskez

It’s my favorite fragrance in the collection. Before smelling it, I expected something darker and heavier, but it’s much fresher than expected, very versatile. It’s elegant and refined, but also subtle and sober, ideal for work. It lasts close to 7 hours on my skin. I feel the iris creamy, which gives that slight heavy push. I give it a 9.5/10.

  • Wonderful, an iris version closer to Prada than to Dior. Clean, elegant, and sophisticated. Everything is right with Code Parfum.

  • Back around 2006, I spent a couple of bottles of the original Armani Code. Since then, I hadn’t paid attention to it because I was exploring other lands, rumored a reformulation, and had heard the controversy. Today at the perfumery, I found three: EDT, EDP, and this Parfum. Not knowing which was the good, the bad, or the ugly, I tried all three. Upon trying this one, it instantly took me back to the scent I knew, something I confirmed when I wore it on my skin and gave it to my wife, who recognized it as the perfume we used when we started dating. In short: if you’re a lover of the original Armani Code, you’ll find it here.

  • Hocicosensible

PERFUME BOMB! All caps. It’s by far the best CODE of the three. I totally agree with Antonio from FragranceX: it’s the most versatile, freshest, and has the best performance. In my opinion, the EDT is watery and the EDP is too sweet. I tried it yesterday at Primor on Puerta del Sol at 7:30 PM. I got home at 11:00 PM and there were still wonderful bursts. By night I could smell it (I have light sleep) and this morning it was still on my arm. After showering and water hitting it, it revitalized. It lasts 10 hours (the last ones very close to the skin). Citrus and clean opening with bergamot and aldehydes, then it becomes soapy and clean with a sweet tonka bean base. It’s mega-versatile: can be a signature scent, for special occasions, for going out at night… whatever you want. Like the reviewer below, I spent several bottles of the original Code between 2006 and 2009. This Parfum version is the closest to that masterpiece without being identical. It’s more polished and crisp. The projection is 3 hours: it’s not a titan or beast mode, but you feel it perfectly. The trail is wonderful, I walked back over my steps and smelled it clearly. My wife loved it. I’ll add it to my collection. It’s a MUST HAVE. 10/10.

  • Marco Reus507

Really good. I love the magnetic cap and getting it for $115 for the 125ml bottle. The aroma is clean, fresh, and elegant. It doesn’t have much sillage and its longevity doesn’t seem adequate for a ‘Parfum’ version. Otherwise, I’ll keep testing it; as it macerates, I expect it to improve and test its longevity better on an outing. For now, I give it a solid 9/10. Note: if you don’t like clean, soapy, and talcum-like perfumes like the Prada L’Homme EDT by DHI, don’t bother, this is very clean and refined iris. Perfume bomb.

  • A faithful homage to that classic from years ago. I’ve been maturing with many perfumes in my collection for years; I have a natural nose and, at 31, I know how to appreciate a good scent. I’ve passed through gems in their prime like Aqua Di Gio, 212, Versace, and YSL, learning how to wear perfume when there was no ‘hype’. Then came Arabic perfumery and trends, which I adapted to. When I was 25, I went out with friends wearing classic Armani Code while others used fresh scents like Versace. Years later, looking for something similar, I found this gem and bought it blind. It’s a complete gem, a tribute to elegant but fun men. I won’t talk about notes because its spirit speaks for itself. We miss the old Code, but this Parfum is two steps up, better than those days. RIP Giorgio, in his legacy gems like this will always remain. I’ll tell my kids.

  • What a great perfume! A soft, sweet citrus, somewhat ‘pastelized’. Excellent longevity (12h or more on clothes), although the trail is scarce. It’s for smelling very good in a discreet way. It’s felt, yes, but at a short distance. I know the price doesn’t always seduce, but if you find it on sale like I did, don’t hesitate. 100% recommended, extremely nose-friendly.

  • Subtle and elegant scent, far from the usual sweet trends. The minimalist black bottle holds a sophisticated liquid. It starts fresh with acidic bergamot peel, then the powdery aniseed iris from the Code line emerges, darkening with lily root and the sweetness of tonka bean and cedar. Perfect for semi-formal or formal dates, with a sensual and mature touch. Refined and consistent with the original, where iris and cedar dominate. As a Parfum, the fresh opening is a bit confusing regarding performance, which could be stronger, but its strength is class, not potency.

  • Gentil vagabond

Generic scent. I thought the Parfum version would bring a different nuance, but it’s the same as always. It’s not a bad perfume, just not for me.

  • Sergioparfum

Subtle and elegant, perfect for not drawing attention but letting cleanliness and seriousness be noticed. In a present where everyone seeks attention with sweet perfumes, this, without being strong, exudes class and cleanliness. For me, it’s like a slightly sugared lemon, then iris with woods and a floral touch. Awesome.

  • It’s okay, didn’t blow my mind. I felt a rich but generic scent, projects moderately, and lasts long enough. Powdery, fresh opening, very much in the mainstream vibe of unrobust fragrances. Perfect if you like to fit in or receive compliments. Tasteless and boring if you’re looking for something more challenging. Definitely wouldn’t buy it again for the price and performance.

  • Fresh, elegant, and masculine perfume. Smells like a breeze with iris, perfect for dates and special occasions, though it’s very versatile and I also see it for everyday wear.

  • What can I say about this beast of a fragrance… For me, it’s literally versatility made into a scent. Starts with a super clean citrus, and after ten minutes, an iris kicks in that makes it neat and elegant without losing freshness. Then the tonka bean, which here is earthy vanilla, soft and not cloying. The cedar adds depth without breaking the clean vibe. In the end, a slightly fresh aroma, powdery vanilla and woody that turns out incredible. It’s one of those everyone likes: not invasive, not tiring, and has elegance for any place (except the gym). Clean, pretty, versatile, and with a special touch. A total hit for everyday wear or smelling good without complicating things. Lasts 6-8 hours with a 4-hour trail, not a beast mode but it delivers.

  • Quite versatile in my opinion, though it leans more towards moderately warm climates. Super elegant, ideal for a moderately formal meeting in a less open environment.

  • After a few weeks, it became my signature perfume. A fresher opening than expected for a ‘Parfum’, powdery, with creamy iris, nothing heavy or annoying. The dry-down is spectacular, with tonka taking the spotlight. Sexy fragrance suitable for everything, even got compliments at work. Moderate and discreet projection, not a beast mode, but that suits it well. Lasts 8 hours on skin, quite acceptable. In short, it’s one of my best purchases; I already have 30+ perfumes. Rating: 9.7/10.

  • Lucianolococo

Straight to the point: based on longevity and value, honestly, I wouldn’t buy it again. If you don’t have it, don’t spend your money on it; look for another alternative with the same profile.

  • It pleasantly surprised me. Fresh opening, powdery, and slightly alcoholic that almost smelled like baby wipes, but it settles into a masculine and elegant side. Very pleasant and wearable fragrance once dry, could be a signature for many. Versatile, sober, and inoffensive, yet fulfilling. In my opinion, a more than good launch from Armani.

  • SygmaSergio

It’s my everyday office signature. People always comment on how good I smell; it has real projection and longevity. With 10 sprays, I last from 9 AM to 11 PM without touching it or reapplying. I see it more as a daytime scent than for night, works for any season including summer, though maybe the EDP would be better here. Smells marine and elegant, with woody bergamot. Comes with 125ml plus an extra 15ml for reapplication, fantastic. I give it 9/10 for projection, longevity, and price.
