Descripción
Prada Luna Rossa is an aromatic citrus fragrance for men. Launched in 2012, this composition was created by perfumer Daniela Andrier. Upon opening, lavender and bitter orange deliver a fresh, vibrant first impression. The heart reveals a mentholated blend of mint and helichrysum, adding freshness and luminosity. Finally, the base settles on a warm, enveloping accord of ambrette musk and ambroxan.

I think they exaggerate when calling it generic or cheap. Luna Rossa is a delicious, light, and pleasant fragrance. I don’t feel it’s cheap at all; I liked it immediately after smelling it in the perfumery, and today it’s one of my go-to scents. Let me tell you, not a single person has disliked it; even strangers on the street have asked me what perfume I’m wearing. Lavender is one of my favorite scents, regardless of whether some find it cheap, which is totally relative. That fusion of lavender and orange feels very rich. I recommend it; it’s spring-like, summery, autumnal, fresh, clean, and delicious.
Warning: Hater mode ON. Another fragrance I had forgotten about (thank God). I wish it sat well on me like it does for other users, as it would be my style a priori, but that’s not the case. I consider this my first major mismatch with ambroxan. All I notice is a soapy lavender, hyper-mega modernized, almost robotic, plasticky, oily, cloying, too feminine… In summer, it even gets worse… I avoid negative reviews, but here I can’t help it. It smells like a catamaran, its plastic fabrics, its engine, and rusted iron. Sorry. On the positive side, it performs well. Without over-applying, moderate longevity, and a heavy trail for the first half-hour. In my opinion, every single one of its flankers outshines it…
I like Luna Rossa. It’s generic, yes, but then again, fragrances with the trendy ambergris/bergamot/grapefruit combo are also said to be generic, and those upset my stomach. For me, Luna Rossa smells amazing. You won’t find poetry or philosophical abstractions here, but I wish I liked everything marketed as sport, relaxed, or casual as much as I do this. Here we have lavender, but it’s not the dusty or dry lavender of old formulas; this one has hints of aluminum. I’m not sure what the bitter orange contributes since I don’t detect it, but perhaps the combination with sage and mint gives it that metallic touch I find very interesting. I’m surprised not to read reviews highlighting its salty sea vibe; every time I try it, I get that idea of a furious sea with rocks oozing salt and waves crashing on a gray, stormy day. Luna Rossa is a soapy aromatic with herbal/metallic touches that reminds me of the sea without carrying calone and without being an aquatic. Ambroxan, my black beast (smells like sickness to me), arrives far away here, only appearing during the dry-down and barely perceptible, just like in its flanker Luna Rossa Carbon. Could it be that the reputation of the house as a risky and artistic company (Amber, the Infusions) is to blame for this perfume being received without enthusiasm? I think so. But I don’t see Prada lowering their pants to commercialism here, as with the last two launches. This Prada represents the brand’s sport line, which they’ve been developing since the nineties, and the values sold in that section (gray, zippers, technical clothing, minimalism) are perfectly reflected in Luna Rossa. Basic, generic, like sport or adventure gear might be. However, with a twist, there’s something interesting here that distinguishes it from other sport options. I like @Ts6’s take, ‘smells like a catamaran, its plastics and rusted irons…’, which is very similar to what I feel. And that’s exactly what makes me like it and see it as more personal than other sport perfumes…
Good fragrance for daily use and work because it’s soft and non-invasive. However, I prefer the Sport version. It’s fresh and soapy, a great option to smell clean, like just out of the shower. I see it as suitable for any season.
Super pleasant from the very first moment. It’s a summery, clean, and very cozy scent. If it didn’t cost €60 for 100ml, I’d buy it without hesitation, but it seems too expensive for what it is.
It’s a very fresh fragrance, so much so that at first it seems like a kids’ cologne. Once it dries, it changes completely and smells like fresh wood. Since it’s so soft, it’s perfect for daily wear.
Smells clean, conveys freshness, and is quite relaxing and original. Fresh opening, like lavender and mint soap. Moderate trail for the first hour. Mid-stage clings to the skin without major changes, though the mint becomes more noticeable. Final stage starting at hour 4, very faint trail but with the same sense of cleanliness as the beginning, lacking that initial freshness. Nice bottle and acceptable spray. Perfect for daily use and enclosed spaces, preferably in spring and summer. EDIT: On hot summer days, it gets a bit sticky, and the mid-to-final phase turns a bit unpleasant. Acquired.
It’s delicious and original; it smells like Prada’s luxury soaps, but in this case, it’s a youthful luxury, perfect for summer. I received many compliments and really enjoyed wearing it at night, especially in summer. Great personal enjoyment with simple notes used perfectly, just like Prada itself: a simple luxury, yes, a luxury in the end. I can already imagine hordes of haters smelling 212 for Men and criticizing this perfume.
All the listed notes caught my attention. I imagined it this way beforehand, but wearing it turned out to be a hit. It’s a classic accord, nothing groundbreaking, but it blends common notes very skillfully and adds distinctive touches compared to other commercial perfumes. The stairwell note is key here: the orange and lavender with that fresh, green, spicy stairwell touch make you feel clean and youthful. I’m hooked on Prada’s fragrances, especially for that soapy, clean virtue. On summer nights, it shines as the only option. Highly recommended, along with its ‘Carbon’ version. Long-lasting with good projection, though it does cost a bit of a fortune. Cheers to all fragrance lovers.
Arrived today, and at first I thought it would be a cloying, unsurprising scent, but over time it transforms into something incredible: lavender, orange peel, and a mint that reminds me of gum, all mixed with a metallic wood that gives it an ultra-clean touch. It evokes cotton, old-school colognes, and high-quality creamy soap. In the end, it smells like luxury white soap with a soft but noticeable trail, like freshly laundered fine clothes. I loved it.
Prada ADN… We agree with @Demopop. I would like to say how good everyone sees it, but I don’t. Does it resemble the other Pradas? Well, it must be the only one inflated in price. Poor longevity, bad projection, the start very marked on Ambroxol, from start to finish, I know it from the repulsion it gives me in the stomach… The other notes get lost and only a hint of artificial, plastic citrus remains. A 10-dollar perfume in a 50-dollar box… Totally discarded. Note: BEWARE if you get nauseous with Ambroxol, Ambergris, and synthetics; you’re sure this one will too. Lately, I question a lot the ratings in favor of this type of fragrance; I don’t understand it, but okay, bye. Thanks and greetings.
This Prada reminds me a lot of Dior Homme Sport and has distant echoes of Aqua di Gio, as if they wanted to make that type of fragrance but in a different way. To me, it doesn’t smell like the declared notes; if anything, a very diluted lavender and mint, I feel it’s very synthetic, which isn’t bad, but when you pay the Prada price, it is. Definitely, it doesn’t seem anything out of this world; I don’t like it. It could be unisex, and the longevity and trail are moderate, though I wouldn’t use it for sports because with heat and sweat it could be intrusive. If you like it, you have a very good, cheap, and quality alternative with similar longevity in La Rive Rock. See you.
I don’t know why I got so angry with this fragrance when it came out. I don’t know what I expected and it wasn’t; I developed a grudge against it for not moving. The nice thing they said was that it was absurdly generic. I had to delete my previous review. I don’t know where I paid more attention and tried to understand what it had to offer (after all, it represents Prada’s sport line, so a matching scent was logical), and it ended up pleasing me, and a lot. It’s an iced cataplasm of herbs and lavender, extremely mentholated (which fortunately manages to avoid that rancid, gummy sweetness that this note sometimes has). Its vapors, icy, like a winter sea, seem to come from eucalyptus and camphor too. It brings scents of old shaving gels and brush razors, of a bare masculinity, without artifice, simple and clean, bordering on sensual. Despite its classic components and evoking traditional memories, it manages to be carefree and modern. It’s what I turn to when I escape from complicated or cloying scents. When I need to refresh and relax amidst a beautiful simplicity, masculine and bright.
For me, it’s no longer worth paying for this. The scent isn’t bad, but it’s generic; there are more sophisticated and striking things. For example, Le Male Parfum is more novel.
Normally I don’t write negative reviews because I test before buying, and the blind buys I make are oriental scents that play in a different league… here it was a gift and it’s the closest to a scam I’ve had. Poor projection, a scent that could come from a 6 or 7 euro perfume at Mercadona, and they sell it for 45; terrible longevity… if you like throwing money away, this is a good way to do it.
Let’s see if I get this Prada right. The perfect aroma for Robocop, a cyber-mint that gives pseudo-freshness at the start, but soon the dominant lavender, not classic but sour due to the bitter orange, takes control. At first, it smells good, but then it becomes shrill, sticky, very synthetic, and even cloying. It might work in mild temperatures, but in heat, despite trying to refresh, it becomes uncomfortable. The performance isn’t standout like most from this house. In the end, it’s not a masterpiece; it lacks spark, looks arbitrary, average, and without personality. If you buy Luna Rossa thinking about sailing with the boat’s crew, better imagine you’re paddling near the shore.
I don’t understand the criticism; I think we just smell things differently, especially regarding the metallic tones which I don’t notice. To me, it’s a marvel, soft, a bit sweet, very pleasant, and clean. It’s almost one of my favorites. I think it’s totally unisex. I wish it lasted longer because it really fades quickly and the trail is almost non-existent. What a pity.
Love at first sight, like almost everything from Prada, a house I started with that has never failed to impress me. I detect metallic tones that I like because they add freshness, defined by that lavender refreshed with mint. I don’t smell much ambroxan; my reference is Sauvage, which is crazy, so in other perfumes it always sounds soft to me. It’s clean, fresh, soapy, and classy, though more sporty than other Prada scents. Ideal for summer and spring, but its versatility allows you to wear it all year. It won’t let you down. Curiosity: it’s the first perfume that stopped me on the street; a woman with her partner said it never happened to him (and I think it was closer to him than to me). I’m not obsessed with compliments, but nobody spoils a sweet. The interesting thing is that I love it and thought it was just for me, but it has projection. I’m a lover of clean perfumes, like just out of the shower, and that’s where my connection with Daniela Andrier comes in, the best perfumer I’ve ever met. What a pity that now with L’Oreal they’re betting on another path; it’s noticeable in the new Frankler ‘Luna Rossa Ocean’. But we always have these wonders left.
Very citrusy and sharp, but nothing annoying. Over time, it leaves a very elegant herbal scent, and gradually you notice a sweetness, I think it’s the ambroxan with the lavender. It lasts a long time with just a few sprays. Fine and elegant aroma. Worth it from Prada.
Daniela Andrier usually adds a powdery touch to Prada, and this one, Empower, is fresh and aromatic. It’s all about lavender, lavender, and more lavender, with a hint of ambered ambrette that gives it a chocolatey color. The blend works great. Performance is decent for these days. I like this lavender scent; it feels youthful. It doesn’t smell vintage; it’s citrusy-woody and has character. It’s ethereal, with just the right amount of sweetness and very pleasant dry-down notes. Clean and aquatic. I like it. Perfect for wearing all year at work, ideal for a sporty young man. Goes well with jeans, polos, or button-downs. A good creation. Powdery but light, effervescent, and slightly sweet. Great for when you don’t know what to wear. The trail is pleasant.
I love Luna Rossa; it’s been my signature for years. Even though they reformulated it under Puig or L’Oréal, I don’t care. Everything gets reformulated, and I’ve had several signatures. I don’t mind if they say it’s generic or doesn’t perform well; tastes vary. As with anything, better to try before buying. I already own several Pradas that I like and perform well: Iris Cedre, Amber, etc. If I like it and it performs, I’ll buy it.
This will be one of my next purchases. Clean, elegant, and neutral. I’ll use it in spring-summer. Regarding the performance criticisms, I see it as a medium-performance fragrance. As a friend says, worrying about longevity is for the poor. If I like it, I enjoy it; if it doesn’t last, I just reapply without a hassle. Fragrances are meant to be enjoyed, not suffered with a watch.
No one else reminds me of H24 by Hermès; I understand that’s the one that stands out on my skin.
I ordered it from Linio Mexico, the Antonio Puig version in 50ml. The batch is from 2022, so this grid bottle is about ten years old. The scent is standard, nothing extraordinary, and hardly unpleasant. The performance isn’t the best, but it’s perfect for hot days and casual or formal wear. There’s a slight talcum-like note that’s well-tolerated in the heat. A rewarding purchase.
I bought it weeks ago and tried Allure Homme Sport yesterday; they smell very similar. This one costs less than half the price, so I recommend Prada for the quality-to-price ratio.
I can barely smell it, and the little bit that does come out isn’t very appealing to me.
Pungent, rich, and pleasant scent. If you’re looking to project cleanliness, this is it. Great for work without being overwhelming. Well-received, acceptable longevity, and moderate sillage. Recommended for hot autumn, spring, and summer. Rating: 8.5/10.
I love its clean, soapy scent; this year it replaced my Prada Amber. While both have lavender, this Luna Rossa feels more modern thanks to the orange and that subtle ambroxan. Moderate performance and soft sillage; it lacks a bit of initial projection compared to the Amber. My batch is from March 2024.
A minimalist and lovely fragrance. Maybe a touch medicinal due to the lavender and musk, but it has enough sweetness for any occasion. Perfect for the office, class, or going out. It projects a clean, organized vibe. Ideal for spring, summer, and early fall. Moderate longevity and projection. Safe, doesn’t bother anyone.
At first, it smells like mint gum, then lavender soap, and that’s it. I wouldn’t recommend it; it feels more like a scent for a 10-year-old than for an adult fresh out of the shower.
Just arrived this morning, a very successful blind buy. In the line of Prada L’Homme, it feels clean and soft, versatile. At first I had doubts, but Prada never fails. It’s subtle, but I got lucky because I received an October 2013 batch, and even after the nearly six-hour shipping颠簸, I can still smell it perfectly. I’ll let it settle as I do with all my fragrances to improve performance, but for now, no complaints, I suppose my pH helps. A masterpiece, very happy with my purchase. If you’re a fan of clean scents and especially Prada, this is highly recommended even blind.
A masterpiece. Clean scent without smelling like detergent or soap bar. Or at least that’s how I perceive it. Longevity is not bad, 5-6 hours. The only downside is the projection, as it stays in the intimacy. Still, I think it’s incredible and necessary for daily wear. And if you want to smell more, just reapply and continue with your day.
It goes well with Prada L’Homme Leau, both are spectacular, clean scent, very rich, recommended 100%.
Another Prada disappointment; the notes promised a lot. Something makes it smell super sour, almost like vinegar. Two-hour longevity, low projection. Needs to be worn outdoors on windy, hot days to enjoy it; otherwise, it’s like not wearing anything at all. I see it as more formal than informal, 100% masculine. For men over 30, spring. Not horrible, not annoying, but I don’t recommend it. 5/10.
A classic from the Italian brand, soapy, with a retro vibe. On my dry skin, it feels a bit unpleasant. Not very memorable, too discreet, and there are notes I don’t perceive, like mint and bitter orange. Test before buying, as always.
Smells similar to the hand soap from the average grandparent’s house in Spain.
Some rush to say Luna Rossa is another Prada disappointment or doesn’t suit their skin. Let me be clear: they have no idea. As someone who has tried almost the entire Prada collection and dozens of other houses, I firmly state: the original is the crown jewel. An unparalleled, inimitable perfume with an olfactory signature that crosses time with elegance. Imagine a glass tower, natural light in an office with pressed white shirts, sophisticated calm, success, and confidence. Outside, green areas that refresh. That’s the universe of Luna Rossa. It doesn’t smell like an authoritarian boss; it smells like a leader: someone who inspires, guides, and conquers without imposing. The opening masterfully combines the energy of bitter orange with fresh, vibrant, and clean mint. Lavender, softly aromatic, blends tradition and modernity. Musk and ambroxan seal the experience with a feeling of clean, masculine, elegant, and persistent skin. It’s not loud, but never goes unnoticed. It marked me since I was young. The first time I tried it, a sample in-store, it accompanied me for hours. Even after showering, it was still there, like an echo that doesn’t disappear. Since then, it’s my olfactory signature. I’ve been faithful to it for 18 years. What about Luna Rossa Carbon? An interesting attempt, but soulless. The aquatic version? Pleasant for summer, yes, but lacks the character of the original. Luna Rossa is not just a perfume. It’s a statement of intent. It’s silent success. It’s modern elegance. And above all, it’s unforgettable.
I tested it in-store with a spray on my wrist and liked it, but I swear there was no trace left after an hour. Maybe it was the humid heat that day. I’ll give it another chance.
I don’t know why, but my nose is very sensitive to this scent; I can smell it from afar and everywhere. I first smelled it on a friend and asked what it was. I’ve had it for 8 years now and it’s almost finished because I save the last sprays. What I love most is that metallic note, which isn’t listed but stands out the most. I love it.
I just got Prada Luna Rossa and I absolutely love it. It’s simple, nothing complex, and I realized women prefer this kind of scent over complicated ones. It smells like high-quality soap, fresh and clean, like in a luxury hotel. No one will complain about the smell. When I went to visit my brother-in-law, he kept asking about the perfume and was fascinated. On a Saturday, my colleagues told me it smells great, and one even added that I look sexy because of how I smell. Lasts 5-7 hours on skin and until the next day on clothes. Projection is good for the first hour, then becomes a personal bubble that invites people to get closer and smell it.
