  • Invictus Platinum, are you in another presentation? It happens to me with that fragrance too. I like the opening, but the drydown is the problem: that metallic anise scent that makes me nauseous. Although in the Platinum it’s worse. The opening reminded me of YSL Y EDP. I’m not sure if it’s the effect of being a ‘blue fragrance’. To differentiate them better, I tested it alongside the original EDP, and it was much weaker and duller. However, I sensed a strange aroma I hadn’t noticed in that EDP before. It’s as if they reformulated it to make it look worse against this new launch, the Parfum. Luckily, I didn’t have much hype for this. It doesn’t disgust me, but it feels generic and redundant. Nothing surprising.

  • An innocent, summery fragrance with modest ambitions. I tested it today and found it between marine and green, pleasant, with a soft resinous drydown and a hint of patchouli. Lasts about three hours. It vaguely reminds me of Bvlgari’s Aqua Amara with a touch of tangerine. Almost bought it blind because of the beautiful bottle.

  • Just tested in-store today, right when I put on my Dylan Blue for work. They smell identical.

  • I’d prefer the original Profondo 100 times over; this one is too sweet and smells very much like Dylan Blue… luckily I got free samples before buying blind and saved myself. A flanker destined to be forgotten without making any impact.

Intense aroma, more nocturnal and less versatile. I’ve even worn it in freezing weather, and it’s a notable fragrance.

  • SuperCricko

Tested it a few hours ago at the mall. In the drydown, it smells very similar to Dylan Blue.

  • Excellent fragrance, very marine and suitable for formal summer moments with great performance. It’s my favorite DNA.

  • Another unnecessary ‘copy and paste’ when the EDT version already exists. Are they tired of releasing redundant and mediocre stuff?

  • Ivan Morones

A fresh, elegant, and delicious woody scent. It has the DNA of Acqua di Gio but softened, perfect for cold weather and the autumn season.

  • Top fragrance for formal events in autumn and winter. The drydown is sweet and woody, with that deep, exquisite touch that makes it unique.

  • Acqua di Gio Profondo Parfum is a marine, aromatic, and salty fragrance. Its opening is marine with citrus, but above all it’s salty and mineral. As minutes pass, the salty and marine chords increase, bringing its style closer to Light Blue Intense but with the Acqua di Gio DNA. I didn’t perceive many changes in its development; it smells almost the same from start to finish, except after a few hours when the salty tone drops and something herbal rises. It resembles the Profondo EDP, but this one is saltier, while the EDP is a bit more citrusy. Ideal for taking to the beach or using in spring and summer for casual outings or outdoors. Its longevity is good, lasting over 9 hours; the first two are noticeable without getting close, then it fades until it’s skin scent. It’s not a bad fragrance, but I think I liked the EDP version a bit more, but try it yourselves to form your own opinion.

  • I’ve never owned an ADG version before, I really craved that notable aquatic scent. After researching, I decided on the Acqua di Gio Profondo. I tested both the EDP and the Parfum in-store, and both seemed spectacular, but I chose the Parfum. I must say I’m extremely disappointed with the longevity: does a Parfum dare to last only two hours? And by four hours it’s practically imperceptible on the skin? It doesn’t even last a full day on clothes. The scent is exquisite, but I have to press my nose against my skin to catch that delicious aroma. Disappointment over the price, the ‘Parfum’ name, and lasting worse than a cheap cologne.

  • A new variant of the original perfume, potent, very masculine, and certainly redundant with other scents. Test before buying.

  • Mr. Baskerville

It’s not very different from the original ‘Profondo’, but it shouldn’t be since it’s the Parfum version. Used to the dopamine we get every minute from influencers, TikTokers, YouTubers, their posts, Netflix, and ads, we desire to always be on the crest of the wave, trying new and surprising things. That’s why perhaps the ‘Parfum’ won’t be a desire object for many people, but it has everything a non-collector could want from such a product: excellent longevity, decent projection, and a scent worth it. A good option for anyone wanting a Swiss Army knife without spending more. Elegant without losing versatility and seems good for both young people and something more mature (without falling into clichés). It’s pricey, but I insist, the performance matches the price (without falling into niche territory). It convinced me, so I recommend at least testing it under proper conditions.

I prefer it to the Profondo EDP: it has more body, a fruity top note, and a resinous, sweet, and marine base. Very good and versatile scent, works great day and night (much better than the EDP). Too bad the longevity is so low. I’ll decant it and won’t buy a full bottle.

  • Erick Fraganza

Greetings. This is the bluest ADG I’ve ever tried. Seeing some say it resembles Dylan Blue, they’re right; the opening is fruitier than the EDP and yes, it smells like a blue fragrance, versatile for any occasion. Then comes a flood of marine aroma, potent and intense. I don’t know about the sillage, I’ve worn it for over 5 hours and now it’s in a salty, marine phase; I have to lean in close to smell it. Still, I’m not regretting the purchase for now.

  • I like it. I’m not sure how much it relates to the Profondo line since I don’t own the supposedly superior EDP, but it smells spicy and quite nice.

  • Definitely recommend it if you’re looking for something fresh, sophisticated, and long-lasting. It’s ideal for anyone wanting a versatile, elegant aroma to wear all day. Although the price is high, the quality makes up for it. If you prefer more complex or bold perfumes, this might not be your cup of tea, but if you want something fresh, clean, and high-end, it’s an excellent choice. Rating: 10/10 🌊🍊⛱️🌤️

  • A clean, high-quality marine scent, exactly what I was looking for. If you’re trying to turn heads by walking around, this isn’t for you.

  • Look, there’s a lot of hate, but honestly, it has nothing to do with that. This is the bluest and most versatile fragrance in the entire Acqua di Gio line. It’s not just the concentrated version of Profondo EDP; it’s more in tune with what modern perfumery demands. Some still prefer the 2020 Profondo EDP for being more citrusy and faithful to the classic ADG DNA, and that’s fine. But this new Profondo Parfum isn’t trying to please baby boomers, Gen X, or millennials who love vintage scents and complain because ADG doesn’t smell like it did in the 90s or 2000s. This flanker targets a younger crowd seeking elegance, freshness, and versatility, because for many Gen Z and Alpha individuals, the citrus and floral notes of the original already sound outdated. Yes, this smells denser, less citrusy, a bit darker, and much more balanced than the EDP. Don’t get me wrong, I love both, but if I had to choose, I’d go with the most versatile, modern, and elegant option: Profondo Parfum.

  • It’s a simpler fragrance than its original version, dialing back the marine to give way to the clean, it has the same performance as the original, really doesn’t change much. Longevity: ≤5 hours (Normal-Dry skin). Projection: Moderate/Soft for 1 hour. Scent: 8/10 (because it only works in the heat).

I bought the first Profondo 125ml in 2020 and finished it by 2021; I bought another one and am comparing it with batch 22U9007. On the opening, I disagree with those who say the difference is imperceptible: that strong bitter citrus I perceived in the previous one disappeared in this new Profondo; in the new version, softer marine notes predominate, which I also feel as cleaner vibes. Twenty to thirty minutes after spraying, while the whole line denotes masculinity, the absence of cypress and rosemary is a big letdown; for me, in the 2020 version, both notes achieved a more mature masculinity. From a personal perspective, I don’t like the absence of mineral notes; they added depth and dimension. And to finish, there’s no comparison in projection and longevity, presumably due to the absence of musk, regardless of whether it was animal, vegetal, or artificial: the 2024 Profondo is inferior in this last point. Recommendation: Try both.

  • Avalon1224

An excellent fragrance, fresh yet elegant; pity that on my skin it has very short longevity (1-2 hours).

  • Theangel2002

Alright, alright, this is less aquatic than its original EDP version, cleaner, which is NOT BAD, that’s what they did it for: keep its scent and characteristics but make it more ‘formal’, rich, a good smell, it will please everyone who enjoys blue fragrances and more Acqua di Gio. I see it for daily use, work, informal family gatherings, and chill out; you won’t stand out at night events or dates, IT’S NOT FOR THAT. For spring-summer it’s a hit, fall could work starting out, I don’t see it for days below 12 degrees (I’ll still try it to see how it goes…). What’s the downside? The same thing that happens with Ralph Lauren Deep Blue Parfum: THEY ARE NOT PARFUMS, FOR ME THEY ARE EDT INTENSES. A Parfum has much more oil than alcohol, and these two are more alcohol than anything else; in fact, when you apply a ‘Parfum’, you’ll ask yourself: Where’s the oil? Where’s the fixative power from the oil? You won’t find that here in this delicious Acqua di Gio Profundo ‘Parfum’. It bothers me that designer brands use the word ‘Parfum’ without being one, IT’S A FRAUD and that should be penalized by consumer protection agencies in each country. But hey, that’s another story. Do I recommend it? YES, but ONLY if you get a great deal like I did at an authorized retailer during a cyber week: I paid $89 USD (almost 89,900 Chilean pesos) for 200ml. If you want a daily fragrance you can reapply, your work/university/per spring/summer mall outing, park walk, etc… I never recommend ever buying at full retail price, it’s not worth it as an EDT INTENSE in my opinion. I’ll keep enjoying it until it runs out, it smells delicious and I’ll reapply as many times as needed. Should I buy a second bottle? Maybe if I catch another similar deal, but I’m not sure. Hope my review helps. Cheers.

  • Canary Scent

Hey there, my take. I think this is the first time I’ve written about a fragrance I didn’t like. I don’t know if my bottle is just bad. The opening is terribly synthetic, and the dry-down, oh my god… I can’t stand it, it smells awful… I won’t go into details, I don’t like being mean… For me, it’s not… Try it first, always. Cheers.

  • diego2020

I tested it on blotting paper and liked it quite a bit, among all the perfumes I tried. It’s in the aromatic line I enjoy: fresh, slightly sweet, floral but clean and masculine. It’s well-rounded. I’ll test it on skin; if I like it, it’s coming into my collection. Full retraction: on skin, it doesn’t feel marine at all and smells muuuy weird…

  • DannyAngel

I’m curious why Mr. Morillas didn’t sign this fragrance off. You can get the 200ml bottles at a good price in Mexico, which signals they aren’t selling as expected and are being moved ‘off the books’ rather than through official retailers. When a fragrance is a hit, it’s hard to find with independent sellers, and if they do have it, it’s usually expensive. I gave it a second chance dry-down, and this time I found a bit more of the Profondo DNA, slightly more marine/oceanic; it smelled a bit less like Dylan Blue, but honestly, it feels very much within that Chanel Blue-Dylan Blue universe. I see some saying weird nuances emerge on skin… so the dry-down reception makes sense within the perfume fandom. The official price in Mexico is around $300 for 200ml, while independent sellers have them for about $150. Guess what else? The fragrance fandom is starting to realize the European perfume scam: they label everything as EDP, Parfum, or Elixir, but they’re actually colognes that project only when you first spray them and then vanish. Demand was dropping, the concepts are overexploited, and the general quality is low. And now they even dared to release a Profondo Toilette, haha.

  • Canary Scent. Good stuff. Same thing happened to me: at first, it smelled bad, and it only started to improve once the mimosa notes kicked in. I let it macerate for a couple of months, and it changed completely. You’ll see how much better it gets.

  • JorgeVIllas

I have half of a 200ml bottle left and just made a backup of the same size. It’s been 6-7 hours on my skin and it’s holding up perfectly. If I believed all the negative reviews, I wouldn’t have a single one left. Haha.

  • DannyAngel

I gave it another shot, and nope, still not for me. It’s the Dylan Blue profile but with salty nuances that, for me, border on unpleasant. The Chanel Blue and Dylan Blue archetypes work well as they are; adding marine salty notes just to follow the ‘blue fragrance’ trend under the Profondo concept is a bad idea. It doesn’t convince me. That said, it has decent longevity and moderate-to-low projection.

  • Theangel2002

I insist, RICH SCENT: a darker Profondo, but it’s a shame they call it ‘PARFUM’ concentration. It’s one of the most shameful things in the industry; this is an EDT. At best, it lasts 4 hours, and I’ve tested it in autumn, winter, and summer. I bought a 200ml bottle at official retail here in Chile for almost $90 USD; I would never recommend buying at full price given its longevity; it’s a shame. I’d recommend it only if you catch a deal on the 200ml for $100 USD or less; grab a bottle. I would never buy a 50 or 100ml bottle at retail price.

  • I smelled it in the store and my girlfriend and I loved it; it was the one we liked most out of all we tried, and believe me, we tried many. I can’t speak to the performance because I haven’t tested it properly, but the scent is truly exquisite. I came here, saw the reviews, and didn’t understand them; to my taste, it smells much better than the EDP. If the price is indeed high. It should also be said that this line isn’t very youthful; I see it as more for 25 and up.

  • Where I live in the countryside, we do composting, and I never thought I’d find a fragrance that so naturally reminded me of rotting fruit and vegetation like this. Much less an Acqua di Gio. Easily the worst fragrance I’ve tried; the scent doesn’t just not appeal to me, it’s disgusting, literally like rotting fruit. I don’t know how someone could create this, let alone Mr. Morillas, without realizing it smells horrible. Forget about performance because it’s not worth it and not notable. This has nothing to do with Profondo or Acqua di Gio; they should discontinue it instead of their best sellers.

  • Very well-crafted fragrance. It has that aquatic touch of the Acqua di Gio DNA but feels much more mature. The citrus notes blend well with the marine ones, which stand out more but create a great balance. It’s a mature, seductive, elegant scent for formal occasions. It makes you smell important and like a man who has arrived. It’s not youthful; I wouldn’t wear it to clubs, but rather for dinners or meetings. Good projection in both cold and heat. If you’re a fan of the Acqua di Gio DNA and are looking for something more elegant and mature, it’s a great buy. PS: (A few hours later, my girlfriend started saying it smelled like sweat to her, haha, probably due to the aquatic and salty notes).

  • Fragrantico27

I’d define it as: masculine, elegant, serious, strong character, dark, slightly fresh, more nocturnal than the original, and more masculine. It keeps versatility but is more serious and formal. I see it for nighttime occasions, more special than the Profondo EDP. Lasts about 6-7 hours with considerable projection for 2 hours. If you want to make a presence with mystery and masculine character, this fragrance delivers. It’s for that type of man. (I liked it). Final note: 8/10 (I deducted 2 points for longevity, considering it’s a Parfum concentration).

  • To cut to the chase: this is Blue de Chanel Parfum at 20 minutes. It’s the same as the OG plus the Profondo signature. To my taste, it’s more purposeful, though it loses some projection. It’s more elegant and refined, suitable for everything. The Chanel costs over $150; this one was $115. For a fraction of the price, you get the same DNA with an added marine twist. In short: the OG is the beach rascal; the Parfum is the money man, the boss. Recommended.

  • Don’t let the habit of reviewing fragrances exactly as we smell them die out, not like the user below who uses AI.

  • SpicyBastard

Smells amazing, elegant, relaxed, fresh, and expensive. Sour and marine, like when the breeze hits you while sipping limoncello. Very alpha male; imagine the boss on vacation at the beach, lying down with sunglasses, whiskey on the rocks, and a cigar. This is what he’d smell like.

  • Top notes are elegant but serious; that’s why some criticize it for lacking versatility. Ideal if you’re a pro dealing with executives or work in formal fields like law. It smells luxurious in a port. It’s a masterpiece.
