It’s a Vibrant Leather with an orange twist; honestly, it should have been called ‘Orange.’ It smells exactly like Tang orange soda. Rich, but ultimately forgettable.
Sometimes it smells like mosquito repellent to me, and while I liked it on blotter, I’ll give it another chance.
If you’re looking for an affordable fragrance that smells like orange, this is a solid choice. It’s not a beast in terms of performance, but for me, it outperforms the original VL and the VL Bogoss, for example. We’ll have to test it more thoroughly when summer hits.
As the name suggests, this is a gem by Jerome Epinette for ZARA that’s definitely going to have hype; on my skin it lasts 8 hours with 4 hours of projection. I loved it, and since I bought it, I’ve been getting compliments every time I wear it. Cheers, everyone!
Summary: Vibrant Leather plus orange. Smells good, performs like all the VLs. You know what you’re getting, 3 or 4 hours of presence. In my case, perfect for work in summer, which is what I bought it for. 19.90€ at Zara store.
It’s incredible that Zara keeps releasing their Vibrant Leather saga with any note thrown in and people keep falling for it… This stuff is just another VL with some artificial orange sparks… I tested it, without buying it of course, and it smells like those old effervescent Vitamin C tablets they used to sell…!!! They don’t know what other cheap trick to pull to keep scamming people…!!! It’s unbelievable that people keep falling for this scam and mockery…!!! These guys at Zara are tremendously pathetic with their hundreds of Vibrant Leather versions… in a while they’ll release a ‘chocolate sparkles’ version, then white chocolate, then chocolate mint… etc… hahaha **** Can’t believe it ****
It’s very similar to Zara VL, blends well with the orange, it’s a sweet scent, and resembles Aventus clones, but it really has no longevity or sillage; it doesn’t pass 3 hours. You can spray it 10 or 15 times, and it doesn’t increase the duration.
I don’t get the criticism aimed at ZARA fragrances; within their segment, they perform perfectly. I think the issue is having high-end expectations for a 20-euro price tag. If you understand what they are and what they last, you’ll find pleasant surprises. This is the case with this VL Eclat de Bergamot; it’s synthetic but pleasant. It lasted longer on me (+4) than Roja Elysium Parfum Cologne (-3), and the cost comparison is impossible. When you get more compliments wearing a ZARA than a ‘niche’ scent, you start wondering if spending a fortune is worth it. Everyone assigns value as they see fit and spends however they choose.
I can’t understand the criticism of Zara fragrances; within their segment, they perfectly fulfill their purpose. I think the problem is having high-end expectations while paying 20 euros. If they can understand that Zara fragrances are what they are and last what they last, they’ll find pleasant surprises in their catalog. This is the case with this VL Eclat de Bergamote: synthetic (obviously) but quite pleasant. It lasted on my skin more than (+4) Roja Elysium Parfum Cologne (-3), and you can’t compare the cost. When you get more compliments with a Zara fragrance than with a ‘niche’ one, it makes you reflect on whether it’s worth spending large amounts of money. We all assign value differently and spend our money as we please.
I bought it today because surprisingly, it lasts longer than its Hermès counterpart with that note. It’s one of those gems at a low price that you can find.
I bought it today because surprisingly, it lasts longer than its Hermès counterpart. It’s one of those gems at a low price that you can actually find.
This fragrance is for everyone, or at least that’s how it seems to me. At first, it smells like slightly sweet orange, like squeezed juice from a cardboard carton—pleasant and very fun to wear. Then, as it dries down, it approaches the original Vibrant Leather, but the old formulation (the good one), so you feel that Aventus DNA, lighter and purely daytime. In the base, you notice something like cedar or maybe vetiver with very soft bamboo providing a base for about 4 hours. On my skin, it fades away after 4-5 hours. I see it as ideal for casual outings, mornings, or the gym because it’s not a projecter and has that slightly sweet citrus that doesn’t bother anyone.
It smells like BONAFINA… don’t get me wrong, it’s not unpleasant, but it’s totally synthetic (understandable given the price). Longevity is the typical Zara thing: moderate to non-existent. But hey, if you understand that Zara fragrances are what they are and last what they last, this VL can still get more than a few smiles during hot weather.
That Tang orange makes my stomach turn.
So much prejudice. There’s a whole world on the nose, and if you like it, it suits you even better. Good luck to everyone on their fragrance adventure.
It’s the classic Vibrant Leather with that smoky touch, but with way more orange. Not bad; the essence is good and does the job well. You’ll definitely get compliments while it lasts. We know Zara makes good scents, but their perfumes are cheap in terms of longevity and projection. Comparing this to Terre d’Hermès is ridiculous: one is a work of art with top ingredients, and this is a cheap synthetic from a clothing store.
