Descripción
Thank U, Next by Ariana Grande is a fruity-floral-gourmand fragrance for women. Launched in 2019, this composition was created by perfumer Jérôme Epinette. The top notes of raspberry and pear deliver a fresh, juicy first impression. The heart reveals creamy coconut and pink rose, adding sweetness and femininity. Finally, the base settles on sweet macarons and musk, closing the experience with a gourmand and enveloping touch.

I got excited by the reviews and made the mistake of buying it blindly. I didn’t like it at all. The smell is unbearable. I’ve tried other Ariana Grande perfumes and loved them, but with Thank U Next, there’s no point, neither for clothes nor sheets. Yes, it’s an intense coconut as promised, but something in its composition smells very synthetic and invasive, as if there’s something burnt, sour, or spoiled. The packaging is gorgeous, but I wouldn’t recommend it even to an enemy.
At first, it smells like McDonald’s hamburger pickles. As it dries, I don’t notice it as much, and the sweetness starts to come through. Is it ugly? No, I’ve heard worse. But I don’t want to walk around smelling like pickles when the dry-down phase is noticeable. Thank u, next!!
I absolutely LOVE this perfume! If I have an event, a date, or an important day, Thank U Next always accompanies me. It’s my favorite; when I go out, people compliment me a lot and highlight this scent. Maybe it doesn’t project as much, but everyone notices me from the moment I walk in because of this smell. It’s creamy, rich, and sweet, ideal for lovers of creamy sweets. It starts with sweet raspberry with sugar, then creamy coconut and super sweet macaron. It’s a sweet, sweet, I LOVE IT! It was my first perfume purchase and it sparked my love for Ariana’s scents. Although they aren’t complex, elegant, or sophisticated, I love them. It lasts 4-5 hours, with high sillage for the first two hours, but poor longevity, which is disappointing. However, since I love it, I have a European dupe, just the essence, and I apply it before the perfume to make it last all day. People always ask what I layered with this combination. Try this tip with a perfume you love that doesn’t last long; you’ll see the amazing change.
I bought it based on the reviews, but I don’t like it at all. It has a very synthetic note that doesn’t suit me. I gave it two chances and couldn’t find anything good. Now I opt for decants; if I like a perfume, I buy the full bottle.
I bought it blindly based on reviews and videos. Unfortunately, I didn’t like it at all; I had high hopes. The sweet macaron note is very prominent; it’s cloying and smells synthetic. It’s feminine, yes, but when I sprayed it on my hand, I didn’t want to smell it, unlike others that make me want to sniff them constantly. It’s a pity because I wanted to like it.
I bought it blindly expecting something rich and sweet, like a dessert, but nothing like that. It’s more fruity and floral; I don’t smell the coconut and it smells a bit synthetic. I didn’t expect that, but it doesn’t bother me. My friends say it smells good, like orange marmalade, and I liked it a little. I wouldn’t buy it again, but if you like sweet perfumes, go for it.
The sweet macaron note dominates the coconut, which isn’t tropical but pastry-like. The macaron is stronger and a bit cloying to my taste. I even get the impression of heliotrope, with a certain bitter touch.
It opens super fresh with raspberry and pear, juicy and acidic. As it dries, the candies come out, with a powdery and fresh touch from the coconut and macaroni. It’s one of my favorites: a gourmand scent but not cloying, very fresh. It works for all seasons but stands out during the day. Perfect for daily wear, dates, or school events. I love it! I have the original, the dupe, and the body mist. I like the bottle and the song message, which I’ve tried to apply to my life. The sillage and longevity are moderate, leaning light. Although it’s not cheap, I like it enough to reapply without it hurting (I have the dupe and mist to make it last longer).
Although Ariana’s perfumes are usually sweet and synthetic, I hated the opening of Thank U Next: coconut with something extra, macaroni, and raspberry, but it smells like sour pickles. I don’t know how it evolves, but that scent is the one I least tolerate in life, aside from the pet food aisle. Why would anyone want to smell like pickles? wtf, it was my first silver bullet for me.
The opening pear note is very strong and synthetic. If you already own God is a Woman, it’s not worth it; it doesn’t last long and dries down to smell like macaroni. On my skin, I don’t detect any coconut.
I don’t have a great sense of smell, but this perfume has a constant plastic note. I think that’s what they mean by ‘McDonald’s pickles’ or ‘burnt.’ It’s exactly that; the scent is loaded with bakery coconut. It’s like they tried to camouflage a tire with shredded coconut and a cookie. I don’t smell the fruits; I think trying to recreate their acidity resulted in a plastic smell. It’s not terrible, but there are thousands of perfumes without weird base notes that leave the same impression. I don’t recommend it 🙁
The only perfume I’ve ever received compliments on.
I wore this this afternoon and the headache hasn’t gone away. Fifteen minutes in, I smelled a pleasant, relaxing scent because I love coconut, but an hour later I couldn’t stand the discomfort of that extremely sweet smell—it was like shredded coconut packets with more sugar than anything else. It’s not that I can’t handle sweetness because I adore gourmands, but this isn’t cute, tender, or provocative. It’s 100% synthetic, cheap sugar.
Love and hate. At first, I loved that sweet coconut, its longevity and sillage. But two months later, one day I suddenly smelled a sour note and realized it was the perfume: it smells like pickles. I couldn’t stop noticing that sour opening and had to gift it away. The person I gave it to doesn’t smell it that way, so maybe it’s a pH thing. I’m still searching for another gourmand perfume with that sweet coconut vibe (without the sunscreen smell) like Thank U, Next.
People told me I smell like sweet fruit salad 🥥🍓🍐🥝 BUT, there’s a bitter note in the opening I can’t place; they compared it to pickled juice, and honestly, I agree. Now that pickle sensation doesn’t last forever; later, the sweet fruit scent remains delicious. Would I buy it again? Surprisingly, no. Despite my good intentions, I just don’t like that pickle opening, so it’s an excuse to try another perfume.
I love it! ❤️ The performance is phenomenal; it lasts me over 12 hours projecting about 6 feet—impressive! For a celebrity perfume. I bought it in 2020 and never smelled pickle or plastic (maybe the batch); to me, it’s a coconut-raspberry dessert with whipped cream and a special Cloud-like touch in the background. I adore it!
It’s insane!
So sweet it’s cloying. Reminds me of Britney’s Fantasy. I don’t like the base; it smells like floor cleaner. Men might like it; maybe it has a unisex touch.
I have the body mist and it just smells like coconut macarons. It’s sweet and very synthetic; I’d only wear it on cool days, never in summer. Good sillage and longevity, but I didn’t like the scent and won’t buy the perfume. Sweet Like Candy is prettier and more wearable. Note: I’m not a gourmand lover, maybe that’s why. It suits its name: NEEEEEEEEXT 😄
My favorite from Ariana, a super unique and rich scent. It blends sweet and fruity notes well, has good sillage and projection, and lasts quite a while on the skin. I love the coconut because it smells like coconut milk, not sunscreen.
The opening is weird, but after 5 minutes it smells amazing—coconut, raspberry, and macaron. It projects incredibly and lasts until the next day. Very sweet; perfect for fall and winter, or spring/summer if you don’t over-spray, otherwise it becomes overwhelming.
The opening is a bit sour, with no raspberry or pear; that’s why they compare it to pickles. But once it dries down, it’s a delicious coconut bonbon, ultra-sweet. Don’t expect the typical summery coconut that smells like sunscreen. For now, it’s okay, but the longevity and sillage are terrible: on hydrated skin it lasts an hour and the sillage is extremely low; no one smells it. Although the packaging is beautiful and it’s for all seasons, the scent is barely pleasant and it’s not worth spending money on this.
What a beautiful and original perfume. It’s sweet and a bit powdery, ideal for fresh spring or summer. The mix of roses and fruits reminds me of the Idôle style, like a new flanker. At first, you feel the powdery rose, then the coconut, raspberry, and the rest take the spotlight. The only thing I don’t like is the packaging; it seems impractical and maybe has low sillage, but I’d use it even if I put lotion underneath.
Smells like mango and potato.
So delicious, youthful, sweet, and fruity but different from the usual. The coconut and sweetness make you want to smell it all the time. Although it has a summer vibe from the coconut, it doesn’t smell like sunscreen, but rather creamy and sweet coconut water with a salty touch. It’s for any season because the macaron note makes it go with everything. Although sweet scents are usually for young people, this captivates all ages with its joy and delicacy. It doesn’t smell like cheap body mist.
I added it to my collection and was surprised by the longevity and sillage. The raspberry and coconut with macarons dominate; it’s delicious and I love it more than Cloud or any other Ariana Grande scent. I recommend it and will buy it again.
Very rich, soft, and pleasant. Although it’s not common, almost everyone will like it. It smells very tropical; I detect coconut and mango. Since it’s soft, it’s ideal for daily wear <33
I love it; it has great longevity and sillage. It’s much more enjoyable in cold weather; when I apply it, I feel like I’m being wrapped in a hug, it’s so comforting. I recommend it to gourmand perfume lovers <3
I bought it based on all the recommendations, so my expectations were high. On the first spray, I didn’t smell strawberry, but straight-up coconut, like when I tan with oil, though it does get sweeter later. It didn’t win me over at first sight, but I hope my skin gets used to it over time.
Sweet and tender; the first thing you notice when you spray it is the coconut with raspberry. Even though it doesn’t have mango, the blend makes it feel that way. Smells like the beach, perfect for summer.
The boldest fragrance from Ariana’s line, the most summery one. The pear and coconut blend smells like a fruity cocktail. It’s super sweet but stays away from creamy gourmands. It got me several compliments, and I don’t detect any musk. The longevity is the same as the rest of her perfumes—genuinely disappointing. The downside is that it lacks personality, evolves poorly over time, and feels stuck in 2019. It smells good but lacks layers; the opening doesn’t develop much and fades quickly.
I love the scent! Some people don’t like the opening, but for me, it smells deliciously like tropical fruits. I don’t own it, only tried it in-store, and it’s a shame it doesn’t last long. After an hour, I only smell the macaroon note (which smells divine), but it’s not potent; I have to press my nose close to detect it. I wish it had better longevity and projection; I understand it’s a celebrity fragrance, but what a pity because it smells so good 💔. I sprayed it many times to test it, but I don’t think I’ll buy it 💔.
Bought it after a recommendation. At the counter, it seemed cloying, but on my skin, I changed my mind. It opens with coconut and a floral touch. I thought it barely smelled, but I’ve already received several compliments saying it smells great. The only downside is that it doesn’t last long; I’ve had to spray more on my clothes and use the body mist. Otherwise, it’s incredible.
I love it—it’s sweet but not cloying, pleasant and youthful. Coconut with rose takes the lead; even though rose isn’t my favorite, paired with that coconut it’s delicious. It lasts forever on skin and even on clothes until washed. Sometimes when it dries, it smells like popcorn—I’m obsessed.
I like it for mild weather, not too hot or cold. It feels feminine and soft thanks to the macaroon notes when it dries. At first, people thought it smelled like pickles, but I’m getting used to it. It gives off sweet baby vibes. I love clean scents, but I’d rank Ariana’s version second or third.
I went to the mall yesterday looking for Thank U, Next. Right out of the bottle it smells acidic and strong, but once it dries down it’s sweet, with notes of coconut and mango. The sillage is moderate to low and it lasted between 3 to 4 hours. I’ll give it another sniff later to see if the longevity improves.
At first, it felt synthetic and very sweet. It lasts hours on the skin, but the sillage is small. Perfect for casual days or keeping it in your bag. PS: After a few minutes, you catch a hint of nuts, which is incredible.
Sweet, but lacks personality. It smells a bit like cucumber to me, which isn’t a dealbreaker, but I expected something better than what I got.
I received it as a gift and it was the most complimented one I’ve worn so far. One of my favorites on skin. To me, it smells very much like coconut and macarons.
Out of all Ariana Grande perfumes, this is the champion for longevity and projection in my opinion. On my skin it lasted 6 hours and on clothes until the wash. At first, the raspberry is intense and delicious, then it transitions to a sweet coconut with a toasted note. It’s the richest coconut version I’ve tried and stands out above all the others.
