Tested in-store this afternoon. I usually love the rose, orange, and patchouli combination; I own several with that blend. But in this one, I sensed something synthetic and artificial from the very first moment, and I struggled to pinpoint it. On the way home, I kept smelling the sample over and over… yes, but no; it was like that the whole time. Until I realized the orange note was the culprit: as if they tried to recreate not the whole fruit, but its juice. And not fresh-squeezed juice, but that bottled, sugary, or concentrated kind. Bottled juice! That’s exactly what it smells like! I couldn’t wear this. That bottled juice note ruined the perfume for me. It’s a shame because I can tell it has a great trail; of all the samples in my bag, this one stood out. Edit: On skin, it loses that artificial nuance… and I love it!
Tested in-store today. I usually love that blend of rose, orange, and patchouli, but I noticed something synthetic from the very first moment. While walking home smelling the sample, I realized the culprit was the orange note. It doesn’t smell like whole fruit, but rather sugary bottled juice, like a Tetra Pak. That’s exactly what it smells like to me. I wouldn’t wear it; that touch ruined the perfume for me. It’s a shame because I suspect it has great sillage; it stood out among all the dry ones I was wearing. Edit: On skin, that artificial nuance disappears… and I love it!
If you know Armaf’s Club de Nuit Intense, well, it has that style, but soft like a Club de Nuit for babies. And it doesn’t last. It’s not bad, but I don’t recommend it and won’t be buying it again.
I don’t know why, but once it dries on me, it smells very similar to Kenzo World. Broadly speaking, it’s citrusy, sweet, and pleasant. Great trail and longevity.
My first encounter was through a sample sent to me to get to know it. I was absolutely obsessed with the scent; I couldn’t stop smelling it. I spent months searching to buy it since it was discontinued. When I thought I wouldn’t find it at a good price, I finally did! I bought it without hesitation, blind. But the moment I sprayed it on my skin, the disappointment was total: the patchouli took over completely, leaving no room for the other notes. I couldn’t stand it. I tried to make myself like it, but it just didn’t work with my skin. I let it go. Its longevity and trail are excellent; it just wouldn’t fade.
My first encounter was through a sample sent to me. I went crazy with the scent and couldn’t stop smelling it. I searched for months to buy it since it’s discontinued. When I thought I wouldn’t get it at a good price, I did; I bought it blind without hesitation. But the moment I sprayed it on my skin, the disappointment was total. The patchouli took all the spotlight without letting the rest be felt. I couldn’t stand it. I tried to like it, but it just didn’t match my skin. I let it go. Its longevity and projection are excellent; it doesn’t fade away.
A richness of intense roses contrasted with the finest patchouli. Perfumes that concentrate their beauty in the portrait of the rose alongside the herbal aroma of patchouli form a school; the floral-earthy school of roses and roots that is utterly addictive. These are magnetic perfumes you find yourself smelling on your wrist repeatedly due to such attractive richness. Elie Saab fragrances are always sophisticated yet effortless, without losing their detailed, filigree-like quality. Huge bouquets of fresh red roses alongside the joy of neroli and orange. A richness of beauty with the unmistakable Elie Saab seal.
Rich intense roses with a very fine patchouli. These perfumes, which center their beauty on the rose alongside the herbal aroma of patchouli, form an addictive floral-earthy school of flowers and roots. They are magnetic perfumes that you smell on your wrist many times because of such an attractive richness. The Elie Saab ones are always sophisticated and easy, without losing their detail like filigrees. Huge bouquets of fresh red roses with the joy of neroli and orange. A aura of incredibly rich beauty with the Elie Saab signature.
A magnificent creation, just like everything from Elie Saab! Sophisticated, potent, and long-lasting. On my skin, I feel the mandarin accompanies the entire life of the fragrance, along with that sandalwood and patchouli… a delicious repeat worthy addition to the collection!
I agree with Genesisgfb; it smells like a powerful woman. I love it!
A masterpiece! Just saying, this smells like a high-class, powerful, elegant, sophisticated, sexy, and majestic woman. There’s nothing quite like it; that blend of fine Turkish rose and myrrh is unmatched. It’s a delight that lasts forever: over 8 hours on skin and more than 20 on clothes.
I love it! A beautiful citrus opening that isn’t over the top, turning sweet as it dries down. Delicate rose and amber. It’s exactly what I’m looking for. It lasts all day. Moderate projection with a skin scent that lingers all the time. Wish it projected more, but I’m head over heels for it!
I love it! A citrusy opening for my skin, not exaggerated, that turns sweet as it dries. Delicate rose and amber. That’s what I feel. It envelops me all day. Moderate projection and a skin trail all day. Wish it projected more, but I’m in love!
Good fragrance for the price, with solid performance and it’s not overexposed. I don’t understand why people don’t talk more about wonders like this. It’s Schrödinger’s cat: it opens with a splash halfway between fruity and citrusy, giving way to a ‘not-rose’ rose. The rose is there, you perceive it, and when it starts to overwhelm you, it disappears to come back later and restart the cycle. If you don’t like this note, try it anyway; it didn’t thrill me either, and here it surprised me. Two types of roses appear, which could seem intrusive, but nothing of the sort; it’s very fine and ‘royal’, powerful, stately, and mature. I sense it with vintage reminiscences, potent, sweet without being cloying, and with an imprint. The oakmoss doesn’t appear, which is strange; it must be the background patchouli keeping the tension. Watch out, it’s an elegant, fine, and balanced patchouli. I loved it, it elevates anything you wear and adds presence. Don’t say it resembles the final result, but saving distances, the rose reminds me of Dior Gris.
It’s currently at an insane price point, lasts forever, and isn’t overwhelming. Why isn’t this little treasure talked about more? It’s the perfume version of Schrödinger’s cat: it starts with a fruity-citrus splash, then drops a ‘not-quite-a-rose’ rose note. The rose is there, the notes are there, but when it gets too much, it disappears only to return later and restart the cycle. If you’re on the fence, give it a try; I wasn’t thrilled at first either, but it completely surprised me. The description lists two roses, which could seem intrusive, but there’s none of that; it’s refined, ‘real’, powerful, dignified, and mature. It feels vintage, with a savoir-faire that’s top-tier: potent, sweet without being cloying, and full of character. I don’t detect the oakmoss mentioned in the notes (which is rare), so I’m guessing the background patchouli maintains the tension until the very end. Note that it’s an elegant, fine, and well-balanced patchouli. I absolutely loved it; it elevates any outfit and adds instant class. Don’t say it’s similar at the end, but the rose definitely reminds me of Dior’s Gris.
