Same DNA as the traditional Society, just more intense due to the coffee, lily root, and an herbal base of various vetivers with a touch of vanilla. Too much hype for my taste, but yes, better than the first one!
Stronger with You Intensely with iris.
Very similar to its EDT brother but with more shine, body, and texture. That original mix of sour and sweet gives me a bittersweet sensation, plus the vetiver/narcissus adds a cappuccino tone with warmth and body. Much more powerful, round, and bright than the EDT. Not worth owning both; this is widely superior. Today, April 10, 2025, I correct myself and say I prefer the EDT. Yes, it’s lighter, projects more, and doesn’t have that powdery touch that saturates.
Something sweet/floral with a coffee touch, cedar, and vetiver. Nothing abnormal, possibly one of the least original perfumes. It’s masculine and quite so, somewhat playful but without any ‘bad boy’ vibe. It’s for going out, mostly at night. It goes with any outfit in different situations. It doesn’t stand out much, it’s not cloying, and it’s not out of the ordinary. I wouldn’t buy it; maybe I’d accept it as a gift to use in neither hot nor cold weather, something casual. Lasts about 5 hours; woods dominate the base and the sweetness lasts until 2 hours. Coffee, vanilla, and a hint of mint give freshness, but each note is very subtle, nothing revelatory. It resembles Carolina Herrera’s VIP but is less sweet, more creamy and powdery. Maybe it suits ages 20 to 40. Nothing special, but it could be a signature scent. ORIGINALITY: 6/10 QUALITY: 7/10 VERSATILITY: 7.5/10 SMELL: 7/10 TRAIL: 7/10 PROJECTION: 8/10 PRICE: N/A TOTAL: 7.5/10 (pretty average)
The problem, in my opinion, is the ZERO VERSATILITY. Notes I detect: NUTMEG, COFFEE, VETIVER. The rest accompanies in some way I can’t quite grasp. Night, cold, winter, date (few sprays), formal event. Longevity on skin averages 8 hours, projection above average.
Woody with coffee, slightly sweet. Coffee dominates. Iris is very in the background. The comparison to Gentleman EDP seems ridiculous. It’s versatile in cold weather; the hotter it gets, the more it reduces to something nocturnal. Not for summer. Excellent longevity, moderate projection. Masculine and semi-formal. Rich aroma, though I don’t identify with wearing it. Contradictions that sometimes happen.
One of the best coffee fragrances I’ve ever smelled. I don’t like the GENTLEMAN line, but this one does. I don’t detect tonka bean, finally!
I read the reviews and went to the perfume store to try it. I was excited about a good coffee scent. The reality was different: after 4 sprays on clothes and skin, I couldn’t even smell it on my skin an hour later. Maybe I noticed a faint alcohol scent, but barely. My experience was like a bucket of cold water. Luckily, I already have Coffie Addict from a Greek brand with a hard-to-pronounce name, and I’m going in with high expectations.
Iris at the start, then it fades after 15 minutes and gives way to wood, nutmeg, coffee, and a touch of sweetness. It’s for short-distance dates; don’t expect it to project wildly. Medium longevity.
I loved it! I’m a woman, and on my skin it smells delicious. At first, the lily and mint are perfect and fresh. As it dries down, it gets sweeter, with coffee and nut notes appearing. I think it’s very well-balanced. I’m thinking of buying it; I believe it works perfectly as unisex. Putting gender labels on perfumes is fading into the background… they’re becoming more versatile. I enjoy fragrances without labels. ✌️
I hated it. Smells way too much like coffee.
Smells good, but the performance is very meager, almost poor. It’s curious that most people say it lasts, yet those same people value Zara and complain about this… Not worth it for that price.
I liked it; it’s sweet and reminds me a lot of Ferragamo Uomo, which I used to wear a lot. This one is toned down, whereas the other was a bomb. You can smell the coffee from the first spray; it doesn’t smell very natural, but it has the quality you expect from Givenchy. I wouldn’t buy it just because of the similarity, but it’s an interesting option.
Something weird happened to me… it smells better in the trail than on the skin. That blend of coffee and iris (I think they removed it because haters couldn’t stand the original Gentleman) doesn’t suit me; it smells good if… but there’s something off-putting. I don’t find it as pleasant to wear as Society. Although it evolves with flowers, sandalwood, vetiver, and vanilla, the coffee and iris linger all the time while the other notes hide. It lasts past 8 hours, but the projection is low. Try it before buying; it’s not as versatile or comfortable as I hoped.
No performance. Period.
The scent is top-notch and spectacular, but it fades within an hour; neither my girlfriend, my grandmother, nor my mother could smell it even when getting close. Still, it’s one of the most elegant and rich-smelling perfumes I’ve ever tried.
Ugh, what a delight… ugh, what a short life and zero projection. On skin, it lasted 3-4 hours; projection was only for the first hour, maybe less; it disappears quickly. The iris isn’t very prominent, only appearing when fresh and vanishing as it dries. Once dry, it smells like Scandal Le Parfum but without that bright, sweet touch; instead, it lacks the coffee note. Yes, it’s more mature and elegant, but why does it last nothing?! These are heavy notes that should be super long-lasting; I don’t get it.
Smells incredible, but the performance is a disaster.
Smells like freshly brewed coffee and chocolate, super masculine and sexy without being cloying. One of my recent favorites: it has zero projection, but I love feeling it on my clothes and skin. Top quality, perfect for intimacy or work without bothering anyone. It truly tastes amazing and stands out from everything else. It’s been overlooked online because it doesn’t fill the room, but for me, it was worth it, even at this price. I like it more than the Gentleman by Givenchy; it feels more ‘manly.’ Highly recommended to try.
Took my time writing this; I’m new to perfumes but I love fragrances. Upon spraying, it opens with coffee and nutmeg notes; the dry down stays in the background supporting the coffee. Smells rich, sweet, and striking—ideal for men, easy to wear without being intrusive, though it does require a good outfit. It’s fairly linear: the opening scent lasts throughout, about 4 hours total (moderate projection for the first hour, then it fades significantly). You can detect woods, but the nutmeg is pleasant yet slightly powdery and dominates. Great for cold weather, and people around you will like it. The downside is the price, which is high but understandable given it’s a new release.
The Givenchy Gentleman Society Extreme is an excellent flanker of the line that adds lily root and coffee notes, bringing even more elegance and class to a beautiful established DNA by the house. The performance, both in longevity and projection, is within acceptable parameters; however, I think it could be a bit better, especially in projection. Despite this, its scent is magnificent and enveloping. Personally, I like the original a lot and consider that this version improves even more on its aromatic profile.
I have Gentleman Society, Extreme, and Ambree. For me, the best of all is the original, Gentleman Society. It’s perfect. It has a very good iris (though not officially specified) and, in the base, a sweet and soft touch with vanilla. Super versatile, very feminine, balanced (unlike the Extreme), and precise. I would put the Extreme in second place. It’s not an intense-extreme version of the original; it’s a flanker. They are different. In a sense, it has more depth and complexity, it’s more masculine and dark, but it’s not better. And you have to like the coffee note (I’m not sure if this accord is actually coffee, it could perfectly be something else). It reminds me a bit of Paco Rabanne’s Black XS and also the recent Dior Homme Parfum 2025. If you are indifferent to the coffee note or simply don’t like it, you’ll prefer the original. Since the coffee note doesn’t convince me much, the Extreme doesn’t improve the original, so they aren’t redundant. I would put the Ambree in third place. I simply don’t like it; it doesn’t resemble the other two at all. It has a very particular flavor, and that flavor has to be to your liking. I don’t like that scent. Update 12/4/2025: after trying it for several days, I like it more and more; it’s great, super sensual, and addictive. I prefer the Ambree to the Extreme. I also have Gentleman Eau de Toilette Intense by Givenchy; for me, the original Society is also better than that. And I also have the Gentleman Eau de Toilette with a pear accord, and again I think the original Society is better. I had the Gentleman Reservée Privée and I think the hazelnut base or whatever it is is horrible. I can’t stand the smell, so I had to sell it.
I had a sample as a gift from another purchase and ended up buying it; that says it all. Rich.
Absolutely in love. It’s sexy, unique (no one in my circle has it, and it’s not mass-produced), and a magnet for compliments. For now, it’s my favorite from the entire ‘Gentleman Society’ line. Despite being sweet, it has a more formal and adult base than its rivals (Dior Homme Parfum, JPG Le Male Elixir, EA Stronger With You…). It smells like a sophisticated French dessert. It’s been a huge success with girls; it never failed to surprise and provoke them to want to get closer and smell me more than once. It’s completely winter/autumnal; I still wonder if I’ll use it on a cool summer night, but in closed, hot spaces it can be too heavy and lose its charm. I got it at a Júlia perfumery in Andorra for 70€/100ml, and although it’s around 80-85€ in Spain (same capacity), I will definitely buy it again. 9/10.
It’s a pity, it feels generic. At first, the iris and coffee come out and it seems like something new and different. But the dry down makes me remember something I’ve heard hundreds of times; I can’t even say exactly which one, and the original isn’t it.
I love it, its dry down reminds me of Dior Homme Intense.
It’s deep and dark, warm, and interesting. It keeps the coffee note throughout the hours. It lasts much longer than the original version and retains a slightly sweeter scent, whereas the original does it in a drier way. I like it, but the projection fades a bit.
I tried it and it was wonderful. It smells like a mix of vetiver, coffee, and vanilla; my nose picks up a lot of that soft, vanilla-like coffee. It’s a scent that embraces you, ideal for autumn. If you like chocolate or coffee with vanilla, you must have it. Although it’s nothing new to me, it feels like a scent I’ve smelled before. Very rich, I’d wear it at 24 without a doubt. I loved this flanker.
Subtle and super elegant, delicious. I love it.
I only have it as a decant. It smells very dense and dark, perfect for night and cold weather. It’s so intense that it gives me a headache if I smell it too much. A great perfume with a tender opening that later becomes very heavy. Maybe it’s a gourmand with coffee, but everyone sees it differently. It’s masculine and perfect for formal occasions. For those over 25. Simply tasty and formal.
Haha, they say ‘coffee’ just to avoid saying ‘caramel’ 😂. Come on, it’s basically A*men.
Too much vetiver for my taste. It’s dense and dark, elegant; the mint leaves a refreshing aftertaste if you get close to the skin… It’s good, but with a very woody dry-down and a vetiver that didn’t feel as prominent as the last time I used Encré Noir (that one has more vetiver and no extra fluff like cedar, don’t get me wrong). I prefer the resinous touch of its sibling, Ambrée.
A gem. I was swayed by the reviews, and when it arrived, I was pleasantly surprised; I’m not an expert, but it’s one of my favorites, and you can definitely smell the coffee. Totally a night scent, I highly recommend it.
Personally, I was disappointed by the dry-down: all the woody and nutmeg aroma disappears on my skin within 30-40 minutes, leaving a faint tropical sunscreen scent. It’s not a bad perfume, but if you buy it, I recommend testing it on your skin for 3 or 4 days, both day and night, to properly evaluate its performance.
A beast of a fragrance, incredibly rich in both opening and dry-down. The coffee isn’t overpowering; it blends perfectly with the other notes. If you want to start with a coffee note, try this. For me, all three Gentleman Society scents are amazing; if you can, buy two or all three.
Surprised me from the start. It’s a very balanced blend that stands out without being over the top. I’m not an expert, but it quickly became one of my favorites. The coffee feels real, warm, slightly sweet, and sophisticated. Clearly a night scent, perfect for making an impeccable impression at special outings or dinners where you want to turn heads. Excellent longevity and sillage without being invasive, ideal for cool weather. A great addition to any collection. 9/10
Strong, dry opening; the first 20 minutes feature vetiver with a coffee base that adds body, then at 30 minutes the vanilla sweetness emerges while keeping the line’s DNA. Excellent perfume. In my opinion, perfect for evening wear with formal attire, especially for people over 30.
Fresh, elegant, and masculine. I recommend it for cold weather and evening events. Good longevity and projection—just enough to enchant without being overwhelming.
Dries to a rich bitterness from the coffee note; if you try it, test it on skin because it evolves beautifully. Moderate projection and sillage, but excellent longevity (at least 8 hours). Ideal for birthdays, dates, or semi-formal dinners. Not for the street or clubbing; there are better options for that. Got compliments. 9/10
One of my top 3: starts with freshly cut wood and sawdust, dries down to coffee, and finishes with vanilla. Mature, formal yet modern scent. Moderate performance, perfect for dates; for long events like weddings, you’ll need to reapply. Lots of compliments. If it had better longevity, it would be 5 stars, but I’m giving it 4 because it’s so unique and rich. ⭐⭐⭐⭐
