  • Ahhh… what a pleasant surprise. From the very first application, it captivated me. It’s strong, with intense spices and a woody touch that fades, leaving a very sweet amber phase, the most delicious part. The longevity is average, like almost everything from this house, and the trail too, but if you overapply, it can last up to 8 hours. An example of how with just 3 simple notes, something very well-made is achieved. Congratulations to Avon, you’ve scored a 10.

  • Ahhh… what a delightful surprise I got when I acquired this magnificent fragrance. It captivated me from the very first application. It’s strong, and you can clearly detect intense spices with a woody touch that fades into a very sweet amber (the most delicious phase). Its longevity and projection are average, but if you overapply, it can last several hours; on my skin, it lasted up to 8. It’s an example of how a very well-made fragrance can be achieved with just three notes. Congratulations to Avon, you scored a 10.

  • It’s not just those three notes. It also includes leather and the exquisite Bourbon vetiver from Madagascar. If it weren’t as fleeting as Avon’s usual offerings, it would be a work of art, ideal to wear with a suit and tie.

  • I bought it recently, and honestly, I really like it for what it costs. It’s worth it; I recommend it 100% for night outs or more formal events.

  • A colleague from another forum recommended this to me, and thanks to him, I have it today. I was hesitant at first because I already owned a Black Suede from the collection—a classic barber scent that I didn’t like—so I assumed the whole line would be the same. What a mistake! Avon has dropped a modern gem with pepper and resinous labdanum that rivals incredibly expensive perfumes. It’s linear; it’s all pepper, labdanum, and wood; sweet, warm, and super spicy, with earthy and herbaceous nuances that make it special. I didn’t expect it to be this good; it left me speechless. At first, it smells the same, but as it dries down, it becomes more woody with the sweetness and pepper becoming more contained. Yes, it’s synthetic and the quality isn’t top-notch for the price, as other forums say, but to me, it smells gorgeous. The performance is excellent: it lasted over 8 hours, and even after a shower, it’s still noticeable on my wrist. It has a trail for the first hour, then fades to a skin scent. Ideal for cold or temperate climates and nighttime use, although I wore it this morning and loved it. Unbeatable value if you like warm and spicy aromas. Update: It reminded me of Alfred Dunhill’s Custom, but improved in every aspect, like a steroid-enhanced version. Much more recommended than the Dunhill one.

  • A forum buddy recommended this to me, and thanks to him, I have it. I would never have paid attention to it because I had a bottle from the ‘Black Suede’ collection that I didn’t like, so I thought they were all like that. How wrong I was! What a beautiful, modern perfume Avon has released. A masterpiece of pepper and resinous labdanum that has nothing to envy from expensive perfumes. Hats off to Avon. It’s quite linear and not suitable for pepper haters, because here it’s the star: simply pepper, labdanum, and wood. A sweet, warm, and resinous aroma, super-spiced with earthy and herbal nuances. I didn’t expect it to be like this; it knocked me out. The scent is almost the same from the start, except for the deep dry-down which becomes more woody with more balanced sweetness and pepper. It’s beautiful and right up my alley. The quality for the price isn’t excellent; it’s quite synthetic, though that’s not a problem for me. I’ve read negative comments about that, but for 11€, I don’t know what they were thinking. The performance is very good; it lasted 8 hours and is still noticeable on my wrist after a shower. It has notable projection for the first hour and then fades progressively. I expected it to be weaker, but it’s not bad. A perfume for cold and mild climates, suitable for evening wear, but I used it this morning and enjoyed it a lot. The price-to-performance ratio is unbeatable. If you like warm and spiced perfumes, you have no excuse not to try it. Update: I’ve been thinking about it, and it reminds me of Alfred Dunhill’s Custom, but improved in every aspect, like a steroid-enhanced version. Much more recommended than the Dunhill one.

  • Undoubtedly, you can detect leather and oak wood, which are the most prominent notes. I didn’t notice labdanum (maybe it depends on the batch). It’s slightly ambered with a hint of pepper. It’s a regular fragrance with a good scent but nothing memorable. As a cheap option for daily wear, it’s recommended. It deserves a try. The price-to-performance ratio is the best; it lasts five hours for seven dollars.

  • It’s BBB: Good, Beautiful, and Cheap, but squared: Very Good, Very Beautiful, and Very Cheap. Warm and oriental, incredibly delicious. I’m not sure if it’s synthetic, but it’s an excellent and versatile fragrance. It works for daily wear, work, or suit parties. It delivers, performs, and smells rich. It has an aura of class. I know Avon is often looked down upon, but sometimes they pull out their aces. The box says: ‘Captivate your senses with a combination of black pepper, wood, and an exclusive intense accord.’ Regarding longevity, I attest: it lasts all day. I’m loyal to the original Black Suede from 1980, but this Intense lasts longer. It accompanies you constantly all day. An excellent budget option for lovers of woody-resinous orientals. It could pass as a Tom Ford Best Seller.

I saw Darkbeat praising this fragrance and found it online for $10; impossible to resist. It’s a bomb for a few; not everyone can tolerate this black pepper that starts bothering you almost at the 10-minute mark. The best part is the dry-down: between 30 minutes and 2 hours, it shines with rough amber, labdanum, and black pepper in equal proportions, mixed with oak wood. It has a rare power in current fragrances. I imagine Charles Bronson putting it on before loading his 45, or John Wayne after dodging arrows, or a Norwegian lumberjack after a hard day. Only hardcore alphas combine with this; the office worker who wears it will be suspended for suffocating the workplace atmosphere. After those 2 hours, the amber dominates until it covers everything else and lasts for hours, only removed with water and soap. To summarize: very potent, spicy, rough, and woody, which can be annoying in warm climates or small spaces, but for lovers of these concentrated components, it’s a treat. I give it 7/10 for longevity, projection, and price: 11.

I saw Darkbeat praising this fragrance and found it online for $10; impossible to resist. It’s a bomb for a few, not everyone can handle that black pepper that kicks in at 10 minutes, almost becoming annoying. The best part is the dry-down: between 30 minutes and two hours is when it shines, with amber, labdanum, and black pepper in perfect balance, mixed with oakwood. A rare power in today’s perfumes. I can imagine Charles Bronson wearing it before loading his .45 or John Wayne after dodging arrows. A Norwegian woodsman could wear it too after a shower. Only hardcore alphas pull this off; an office worker wearing it would get fired. After two hours, the amber dominates and lasts for hours, only coming off with soap and water. To sum up: potent, spicy, rough, and woody. It borders on annoying in small spaces, but for lovers of concentrated ingredients, it’s a gem. I give it 7/10 for longevity and projection, but for the price… an 11.

  • A straightforward amber-spiced scent. Perfect for wearing at home; it smells great and lasts 8 to 10 hours without issues. It’s not a powerhouse in projection, but it’s noticeable. At 8-10 euros, it’s a smart buy.

  • What a delightful fragrance—a luxury surprise. It’s my first from this house, and it has an exquisite hint of pepper. It’s an amber scent, one of the best I’ve smelled lately. It conveys a classic yet contemporary personality, someone with character and class. Flawless work. Note: Not for twenty-somethings. Scent: 9.0 Longevity: 8.0 Projection: 7.0

  • What a pleasant fragrance, a truly delightful surprise. It’s my first perfume from this house, and the scent genuinely has pepper; it’s exquisite. It’s an ambered amber, the best I’ve sniffed lately; it conveys a classic yet contemporary personality, of an adult with character and class. Very well-crafted work, full of good taste. Note: Not for guys in their twenties. Scent: 9.0 Longevity: 8.0 Projection: 7.0

  • Nocturnal and elegant; I’d definitely buy it again. For 140 Mexican pesos, it’s an absolute steal. Smells very similar to D&G.

  • Rembrandt Van Rijn

At first, it seems very similar to CH Men with three less lines of sweetness… Very ambered and woody. It lasts on clothes until the next day… smells good…

  • Sloan_Arg

“Ambered, sexy… and Low Cost.” Regarding similar scents, it leans toward The One but isn’t The One; it also has hints of CH Prive. It shares whisky, leather, and amber with both; it’s so rich it takes several paths without being the same. On my skin, it lasts less than 6 hours, but on fabric, 9 to 12 hours depending on the cotton (the 100% ones last days, no joke, try it). Modest projection and an easy-to-wear scent when dry. Many condemn it only for cold and night, but on a temperate night under 30°, it goes quietly since it doesn’t stand out and is quite pleasant without invading. It’s not ‘Best Mode’, so in offices or air-conditioned places, it doesn’t bother (there’s an undeclared musk at the end that I thought was good). It’s very masculine, not for under 25. Conclusion: a good aromatic experience that reminds us that something simple and cheap can be very pleasant, and that sometimes we buy blindly due to hype. Stripping away the hype, I recommend it. For those who like seductive ambered and spicy notes, it’s the ideal at a very low price. 100% recommended. Scent: 8 $/Quality: 10 Longevity skin: 6 Longevity fabric: 10 Projection: 7 Versatility: 7

Spiced, ambered, sexy… and low cost. Regarding the similarities, it leans toward The One but isn’t The One. It has hints of CH Privé, but it’s not CH Privé either… it shares whiskey, leather, and amber with both, giving it so many similarities… it’s that rich, taking several paths without being identical. The longevity on my skin didn’t exceed 6 hours, though on clothes it lasts 9 to 12 according to the cotton (100% cotton lasts days, no joke, try it). Projection is modest, and the scent is very easy to wear once dry. Many condemn it solely to cold seasons and night, but on a mild night under 30 degrees, it can definitely be used, keeping in mind it doesn’t stand out. It doesn’t go that route, but it does go the path of being quite likable. Wide versatility, given that it’s not a ‘Best Mode’ fragrance. Due to its low projection in moderate climates, there’s no risk of overpowering. In offices or air-conditioned places, it doesn’t bother (there’s an undeclared musk at the end that some might not like, but I thought it was very good). It’s very masculine, not for anyone under 25. Conclusion: a good aromatic experience that reminds us that something simple and low cost can also be very pleasant. It teaches us that often we buy blindly due to hype. Still, stripping away the hype, I recommend it. For those who like spiced and ambered notes (especially seductive ones), this is the ideal perfume at a very low price, and it surely won’t disappoint. 100% recommended. Scent: 8/Quality: 10/Longevity on skin: 6/Longevity on clothes: 10/Projection: 7/Versatility: 7.

Very rich fragrance. I just swiped my wrist over the card and knew it was worth it. It has a soft opening that reminds me of D&G The One, as well as Legacy Noir from Avon, and after a couple of hours, the pepper evokes Jet Homme, which is also discontinued at Avon. Anyway, it’s the distinct one that’s worth 100% of the price.

  • Daniel Esteban

The longevity is undeniable and it delivers on its promises. Apply it at the start of the day: sparingly, on the wrist, on the left chest where the heart beats, and behind the ear. It never fails; it highlights the wood and pepper. I’ve tried the Black Suede Essential (the only one similar to the discontinued Axe Mirage, my favorite fragrance); it’s very good, though it doesn’t last long, I use it because it’s the only one like my favorite. I’m currently testing the Black Suede Dark and haven’t reached a conclusion yet, but so far, it holds up. This line has surprised me, with Puig being my favorite house. As for Givenchy: the best perfume is the one you like.

  • Daniel Esteban

I meant, besides the Givenchy house. I think, just like wines, the best perfume is the one you like.

  • LUIS HEINSTEIN

Nothing surprising: you get what you pay for, and it’s very little. It’s a warm, somewhat mature aroma, ideal for daily wear in autumn and winter. It’s not bad, but it’s not very good either.

  • It’s pleasant, but it lacks character. It’s noticeable, but it doesn’t stand out. It could get cloying for an adult man and a bit too woody for a younger guy. I think it’s for men around 30 who like sweet scents and are looking for something cheap. The light and bitter notes fade within an hour or two, leaving a moderate, musky trail close to the skin. It’s fine for daily wear if used moderately. Watch out: don’t use it in the heat; it becomes heavy and nauseating.

  • Absolutely nothing like it, not even close. I bought it based on reviews and to help a colleague of mine at Avon. At first, it smells sweet and spicy, but within two minutes, it turns disgusting, like unwashed sweat on clothes after a long workday. Totally unpleasant. It smells like someone sprayed perfume on without changing. I know scent is subjective, but this is trash. Don’t buy this; you could spend five or ten dollars more on Perry Ellis or Nautica and smell decent.

  • There’s nothing pleasant about this. I bought it based on the reviews and to support a lady who sells Avon where I work. The opening has something sweet and spicy, appearing to be good, but after two minutes, it shows its claws and smells like sweaty person, damp clothes, or poorly dried laundry. It’s disgusting, a totally unpleasant smell, as if someone who worked sweating all day had sprayed perfume on that clothes. I know scents are subjective and someone might like it, but all I’m saying is that whoever doesn’t know God or any saint, they pray to them. Don’t buy this stuff; not only will you smell bad, but you’ll disgust other people without fault of your poor choice. For that price, you could buy a Nautica or a Perry Ellis that costs five or ten dollars more and smell decent.

  • The madness is over, and I snagged it at a steal of a price, at least here. What really strikes me is that burnt wood base; it’s intense and a bit rough. At 30 degrees, this would be a disaster, but in winter, it’ll keep me cozy.
