Descripción

Black Suede Leather by Avon is a leather fragrance for men. Launched in 2010, this composition was created by Loc Dong and Jean-Christophe Hérault. The top notes unfold with ginger, sage, and cactus; the heart reveals a woody bouquet featuring tobacco flower and macadamia; while the base notes anchor the structure with leather, amber, vetiver, and cedar.

  • Tip: for those close moments, take a shower with Axe Instinc gel and then apply Avon Suede Leather.

  • A very pleasant aroma for a female audience, with a lot of personal warmth. It reminds me of Valentino Uomo; I’m not saying it’s a dupe, but they’re of the same sweet, creamy, and woody style.

  • Super pleasant scent for her, with a lot of personal warmth. Reminds me of Valentino Uomo—it’s not a clone, but they share that sweet, creamy, and woody vibe.

  • Good for the price, performs very well. It’s a bit sweet, I get a sweet tobacco scent. It’s not a projection or sillage bomb, but for the laughable price, it’s worth it; it’s a casual fragrance for the day.

  • At first, it smells like an old man, but once it settles on the skin, it gains strength and becomes delicate, leaning towards suede. It’s a cheap, old-school masculine fragrance, one of the least unpleasant ones I’ve smelled from Avon.

  • Fresh opening thanks to the ginger and cactus, faithful to the original BS style. Then it turns powdery with a suede note, more earthy and tender. My girlfriend buries her nose in my chest when I wear it; very close scent, ideal for intimate encounters.

  • Excellent leather note combined with wood and amber, giving a surprising result for such an accessible price. A great option to add to your collection if you like leather and well-worn suede.

  • Disappointing fragrance from every angle. The weak opening of sweet sage ginger and a powdery aldehydic touch makes it feel like a toy scent: nothing virile and I’d almost say it’s safe enough for guys to wear. From a distance possibly due to the ginger I detect a resemblance to Azzaro Pour Homme. I don’t smell any leather unless I really try to imagine it because the sweetness of the perfume masks it completely. Forget about the tobacco—there’s absolutely none. That ginger note isn’t unpleasant but it’s linear and boring lasting the entire life of the fragrance. Projection is almost non-existent; I don’t mind the lack of sillage but the longevity barely passes three hours. A delicate scent doesn’t mean it’s weak. This fragrance falls into the second category. Both this Leather flanker and the Touch (and I suspect the Dark will be a flop too since I tested a decanter) are lightyears away from the performance of the original which projects well and lasts over six hours on a man. My usual practice is to spray no more than five times to avoid being intrusive but with this and the other flankers I have to overcompensate. Given the ridiculous price (between $5 and $6) it would be worth it if over-spraying compensated for the weak diluted formula but it doesn’t: it just makes things worse. The same happened with the Wild Country flankers. I’m from Argentina and these Avon perfumes are manufactured here. Maybe they’re using lower-quality essences or diluting them to keep prices down during this inflationary period. I regret having to make such a negative review as I had high expectations after reading about the leather and tobacco notes; since I own the original Black Suede I expected something similar in performance. I understand that recreating leather is difficult and that perfumers who master it keep their secrets under lock and key.

  • Disappointing fragrance. The opening of sweet ginger, sage, and something powdery makes me think it’s a toy perfume: nothing manly, almost too safe for guys to wear. It projects a lot from a distance, probably due to the ginger, reminding me of Azzaro Pour Homme. I don’t smell the leather or tobacco; the sweetness covers everything. That ginger note stays linear and boring throughout the entire life of the perfume. The projection is almost non-existent and the longevity doesn’t pass three hours. Being delicate is one thing, being weak is another: this falls into the latter. Both this Leather and the Touch (and maybe the Dark) are light years away from the original, which projects well and lasts over six hours as a man. Since I don’t like being intrusive, I use a max of 5 sprays, but with this one, I have to spray myself repeatedly. At a price of 5 or 6 dollars, it would be worth it if it compensated with quantity, but it doesn’t: it makes things worse. The same happened with the Wild Country flankers. I’m from Argentina and these are made here; maybe they don’t use good essences or dilute them due to inflation. I apologize for the negative note; I had high expectations for the leather and tobacco, hoping for something like the original Black Suede. Recreating leather is hard and perfumers keep the secret under seven locks.

  • Super pleasant and smooth scent, nothing sharp. It’s a creamy, rounded leather; even though it’s synthetic, it’s not off-putting and I think it’s one of the best in the line. Sage and ginger give it a fresh kick, with a subtle sweet amber note at the end. Perfect for a black shirt or intimate moments, projecting that seductive mystery of the Man in Black. On my skin, it lasts 4 hours, with 30cm projection at first, then it clings close to the skin.

  • Great fragrance extremely soft with no sharp or harsh notes—just mellow and rounded. It’s a creamy smooth leather; even though it’s synthetic it doesn’t bother me and I think it’s one of the best in the line. The sage and ginger add freshness and softness while a subtle sweet amber lingers at the base. It’s semi-formal and seductive capturing the spirit of Bvlgari Man in Black. Even if the notes aren’t identical they share that soul of leather spice sweetness creaminess and seduction. Perfect for a black shirt intimate moments or outings where you want to project mystery. On my skin it lasts about 4 hours with a projection of 30 cm for the first hour before settling close to the skin.
