The original Code identifies me and makes me feel comfortable, but recent formulations on my skin didn’t last more than 4 hours with low trail and projection. This Eau de parfum fixes the problem: it retains 95% of the original aroma and its versatility. It’s not my favorite nor the one with the best performance, but it does everything well, and with this improvement I consider it my ‘signature perfume’. I would avoid it only on days over 30°C. Aroma: 9.25, Longevity: 8, Sillage: 8, Versatility: 8.75.
A very well-crafted perfume that denotes quality from the first spray. Almost identical to the classic Code, but this current version lasts longer and projects better. Versatile use, less so in summer because it can be heavy. I would buy it again and advise buying two bottles before they reformulate it (good luck to its cousin).
Excellent. If I think ‘men’s perfume,’ the first thing that comes to mind is Armani Code. How to turn star anise into something complex, seductive, and sophisticated? The answer is this perfume. It doesn’t claim to have it, but it smells similar to the EDT version that does. Although… it resembles Midnight in Paris (which theoretically doesn’t have anise). Conclusion: the listed notes are placebo or something like that. Yes, here I have no complaints; they are clearly perceived for quite a while. Finally.
This perfume is rich, with quality far above designer brands. It’s halfway between the classic Armani Code and Carolina Herrera’s 212 Sexy Men, but with much higher quality and performance. Although it’s not novel, it offers a homogeneous and noticeable aroma. The blend of suede and musk is perfect, the lime is incredible (reminds me of Code Ice). Then vanilla and cedar take the spotlight; lavender fades, and tonka closes with a touch similar to anise or the mother fragrance. I’m fascinated, it’s addictive. It needs to be worn with proper attire: not versatile for summer or because it’s sweet (it’s not cloying), but due to modern formal elegance. An aromatic fougère, vanilla-scented, and talc-like. A gem of 2021 in the designer world. Note: Aroma 9.0, Sillage 8, Longevity 8.
I notice a slight plastic scent that doesn’t make it excellent, but it is very good. Certainly, it keeps the soul of the original EDT, though it is more linear than the pre-catastrophic reformulation version. Elegant, discreet, and versatile sums up what this new Code offers. Excellent option for your wardrobe. Good longevity, projection, and trail. Hopefully they don’t reformulate it or it loses its meaning.
A good fragrance with modern and masculine elegance. On my skin, it starts with pleasant soapy lavender, evolves into vanilla with sweet lemon, and finishes with a rich tonka bean. More for night than day, though it wouldn’t be out of place during the day depending on your outfit. Lasts over 8 hours, projects for 1.5 hours, and leaves a personal cloud. The only downside is the price: too expensive for what it offers, but well, that’s life.
I bought it out of love for the Armani Code; it’s very similar but with better performance. However, over time I felt the vanilla too much, which satiated me a bit. Edit: I gave it away, it ended up being too vanilla.
I was gifted this: it’s super masculine, soapy, and sweet but not cloying. Lasts over 6 hours with a perfect trail. Ideal for any season, though in summer it’s a luxury for nights. 9/10.
It keeps the Code EDT aroma with a sweet vanilla touch; side by side, you only notice that difference. I recommend it for mild days and nights, as it doesn’t develop well in the heat. Lasts about 8 hours and longer on clothes. If you like the original, this is better: it lasts longer and has sweetness without being as heavy as other flankers in the series.
Very similar to the original, but it lacks the potency it had years ago. It’s an unnecessary flanker; the Code should have been left intact. While there are good releases, others are repetitive. Still, this line surpasses the Stronger: here we find elegant sweetness versus the adolescent vibe of the other. A great perfume that would have been superfluous if brands had done their job properly.
It seems like a very good fragrance and very similar to the original; they add creaminess and sweetness, so this proposal will be liked by fans of the original Code 👍👌.
The original Armani Code EDT is one of my all-time favorites. Reformulated to the point of no return, with extremely scarce longevity. So this new launch made me happy. What do we have in this new Code EDP? The essence of the classic but modernized. It’s like taking the original, Profumo, and Absolu, and this Code EDP comes out. The opening is marked by lavender and citrus, giving way immediately to tonka. It’s softer than the latest Code flankers, less cloying, though still sweet. Maybe it’s redundant, but it’s a good alternative if you want a fragrance for autumn/winter or dates. Longevity? Between 7-8 hours. Compliments guaranteed. As for age, I see it as suitable for 25 and up without issues. If you find it at a good price and don’t have any of the Code flankers, I totally recommend it.
I’ve read they’re going to discontinue it in favor of the new EDP. I think it was the best designer launch of 2021; for me, it’s a bomb.
Since it’s very similar to the original, there’s something I like more (if the original were what it used to be, maybe it wouldn’t be like this), even seeing it as more versatile, quite all-rounder; in summer, I’d relegate it to nights and not all day. Very good longevity and sillage considering current trends. It generates compliments, people really like it, and we could almost put it in the necktie perfume category, and let me tell you I’m not particularly addicted to the ‘Code’ line, but to Caesar what is Caesar’s (it’s a hit on the street).
It’s the kind of perfume from recent years, sweet, vanilla-based, well-executed. It doesn’t have a huge sillage and its longevity is moderate. And surely there’s no one who wouldn’t like it. I find it hard to recommend due to its price; it’s not cheap. And you can find better options.
Imagine Harvey Specter walking into a room; well, this smells like that. It’s for wearing with a suit and tie, with a winning air. It’s elegant, very elegant. It doesn’t have a deep sillage, just like a gentleman wouldn’t, because it’s not for a club kid. It’s delicate but persistent. You can wear it 365 days a year, in all seasons, cold or hot, day or night, because what defines its use is your outfit. It doesn’t go with shorts and Hawaiian shirts, which is why it’s not as versatile. I think it’s for men who dress formally or for special occasions. It’s the counterpart to Armani Stronger With You Absolute (which I tried), sweeter and louder, like a teenager trying to get attention. It lasts a long time and stays there, 30 cm away, dispensing class. It’s not that you choose this fragrance, but that this fragrance chooses you… you’re on the right path if you catch sight of the cufflinks while looking for it.
It’s a modernized Le Male without the menthol 👌. A year later, I’m reviewing it again: Le Male released its Le Parfum; this time they included suede (not declared) and got the actual Armani Code EDP… I told you so, the marketers and YouTube lovers… but since no one told them to consume this Code… it went completely unnoticed and was MUCH BETTER THAN LE MALE LE PARFUM… KEEP BUYING WHAT YOUTUBE TOLD YOU 😉
It’s basically the EDT with more lavender and a slightly sweeter touch from the vanilla. It has a wonderful dry-down. Edit: they’ve already discontinued it; it’s my husband’s favorite of all his fragrances. Unfortunately, he bought it in a small bottle, so now I’m thinking of asking for one for myself 😳. That dry-down is the best part 🤤.
On my skin, it lasts 6-7 hours with average projection, just like the traditional version. As a frequent fan, I notice only a very subtle vanilla and a bit more musk, but it’s not enough to differentiate it. I’ll stick with the EDT. It smells good, but if you already have the EDT and it performs as well as it does for me, this one is redundant; it feels very repetitive on my skin.
Armani Code EDP smells like vanilla and musk with a floral touch. It starts citrusy and spicy, reminiscent of the original but sweeter. Lavender quickly emerges, musky, aromatic, with vanilla notes, a hint of chocolate, wood, and a bit of leather. Not much changes after that; the scent is rich, attractive, and sensual, reminding me of Le Male Le Parfum. It’s ideal for dates or cold weather, perfect for autumn and winter. Everyone seems to like it because it’s sweet. It lasted about 10 hours on me with average projection. I love it because it’s so similar to Le Male Le Parfum, which I also adore, but that’s a problem right now because I’m not sure if I want two such similar fragrances. Once I finish my Jean Paul Gaultier, this will be my safe bet. If I have to choose an Armani Code, it will be this one.
I don’t understand the votes claiming this is similar to Le Male Le Parfum. I own both, and comparing them side by side, for me, this is much better.
I picked up a 30ml bottle today because I found it on sale. It opens citrusy and powdery, then quickly shifts to a vanilla-scented aroma with suede that gives it a powdery appearance. I’m not a fan of the Codes, but my girlfriend and friends love them; it never fails. Low projection with good longevity. What I must say is that women absolutely adore it: it’s a winner, mysterious, a bit sweet, and a bit dark.
A coherent evolution with the EDT, with a heavier load of Tonka and Vanilla, and acceptable—perhaps slightly better—longevity and projection. Just as sophisticated and handsome. Go for this, never the EDT.
ARMANI CODE EAU DE PARFUM: For those who have the Armani Code EDT, you should know that this version is the luxury one, whereas the EDT is the austere one. The Eau de Parfum retains the DNA of the aforementioned EDT, but it’s nothing alike. This one is rounder, more complete, abundant, attractive, and radiant. The EDT has absolutely nothing to do here. This is a sexy, nocturnal, and striking fragrance. I insist, while it keeps the DNA of the EDT, it’s with much more aroma, since the vanilla gives it what its mother fragrance was so lacking in. If you don’t have the Armani Code yet, don’t hesitate and go for this one. It will always be a hit at night, whether for dates or clubbing; you’ll look great. Scent: 9. Projection: Average. Longevity: 8 hours. Recommended.
A delightful fragrance. Out of all the ones I own, it’s the one that generates the most compliments, with very good longevity on the skin and moderate projection.
Within the Code line, it doesn’t bring anything new; it’s a combination of notes already used in previous versions. That doesn’t mean it’s not very good. I’ve tested it a couple of times, but this one and the CODE A List are the only ones I haven’t bought yet. This EDP builds upon the EDT, but if there’s one in the line that resembles it most, it’s the CODE ULTIMATE, which is an EDT intense with similar performance. If you’re a collector, you’ll want it; if you don’t own any Code, it’s a solid option.
To me, the most seductive, magnetic, and masculine fragrance that can exist at the designer level. The best of all the Codes for my taste. Modern lavender, sweetened by tonka bean, vanilla, and cashmere, turning very creamy with a chocolatey air, slightly powdery and woody thanks to sensual cedar. It reminds me quite a bit of Prada L’homme Intense and a little of the classic Le Male due to its lavender and tonka style. It keeps the Code DNA that we know women love, but it’s more modern and sensual. Unfortunately discontinued 😞, I can’t understand the reason! 🤷♂️
Spectacular. Without even trying the Sport, this is the best Armani Code of all, surpassing the Profumo and the Absolu which I have actually tried. It opens with a citrus note reminiscent of the original from back in the day, but quickly turns deep with significant weight as the suede emerges. I see it as very elegant, masculine, and perfect for dressing up. It also works for winter, autumn, and early spring, but nothing beyond that. It has incredible longevity; on my skin, a single spray lasts almost 24 hours, and I can still smell it right up against my skin afterward, so you have to be careful with the atomizer, which is a huge plus. It’s one of the most positively reviewed perfumes on Fragrantica. The first comment by a user named ‘Svázquez7’ saying ‘it must be…’ made me laugh—that is, they haven’t even tried it, yet there’s always a joker who leaves a review without properly testing it.
In my opinion, the best of all the Codes. I don’t understand why they discontinued it to release scams like the Code Parfum and the new Code EDT. 🤦♂️
I tested it and immediately swapped it for a catalog version. At first, it felt hyper-synthetic, plastic, and even unbearable. The drydown is nice, but it doesn’t stick with me. I own the Absolu, the Profumo, the new Parfum, and the Eau de Toilette, and let me tell you? Absolu takes the crown. That one is truly glorious and spectacular.
I bought this excellent fragrance yesterday and I’m completely satisfied: longevity on my skin of over 6 hours and all day on clothes; an extremely masculine and seductive scent with sweet touches but not cloying. I had read that it wasn’t recommended for summer or non-cold climates, which I’m 50/50 on: I think it’s not suitable for daytime use in summer, but as a nighttime fragrance this season, it performs amazingly. It’s a pity it was discontinued; I’ll take care of this bottle as if it were a treasure.
It’s a fragrance I really like, similar to the EDT and a bit less like the Profumo, but more elegant and mature. A very rich, masculine, chic, and fresh scent. The opening is fresh with lavender, followed by a pleasant sweetness (tonka and vanilla) that stays fixed with anise and a very soft leather. The longevity is moderate; in my case, it varies between 5 and 8 hours. Its projection is modest, inviting people to come closer to you. A safe bet for dates and cold nights.
Extremely seductive, elegant, gentlemanly, and serious. Be careful, I don’t feel it’s suitable for a youthful character because the scent feels very sober; that’s why I ended up not finding many occasions to use it when I was young, even though I love the smell. It smells like creamy, clean vanilla with hints of anise, as if you took the EDT and sacrificed its fresh part for the vanilla-tonka bean duo; if you like the classic Le Male, you have to give it a sniff. It’s not an extroverted, effusive seducer, but rather a gentlemanly and sober one. As for performance, it’s balanced: it’s not a bomb, but it doesn’t stay skin-close either, it’s just right to not bother anyone and still make an impression. Since it’s neither cloying nor fresh, I feel it’s versatile for a mature personality. The good: the Code DNA is always very seductive, good performance, rich scent, and no one will dislike it; it works well in formal settings due to its elegance, I see it as a signature fragrance for someone mature because its balanced sweetness makes it work almost all year; without a doubt, it smells professional, ideal for the office. The bad: its serious character makes it not very versatile for a young person, I don’t see it as very party-ready; if you’re wearing shorts and flip-flops, you won’t feel comfortable with this fragrance because of how elegant it smells.
I had the EDT when it launched and it passed through my collection without making much of an impression. About two years ago, they sent me a 5ml vial and honestly, it drove me crazy. It has a magnetic composition, hard to describe; the note combination is masterful. A super sexy, masculine, and yet modern aroma, with a very well-executed blend of fresh, sweet, and subtle suede notes. Very versatile in terms of occasions: formal, semi-formal, informal, but this is amplified at night, especially for outings and dates due to its highly seductive profile. It was very difficult and somewhat expensive to get since it’s discontinued, but it’s worth every penny. One of the most prized items on the shelf without a doubt.
Rich and seductive, it reminds me of Le Male Le Parfum, just without that makeup-like sweet part; here, the suede, tonka bean, and vanilla make a delicious blend. The Atacaldo is one of the best and lasts about 2 hours projecting (at least in my case).
Here’s the easy summary: it’s the same as the EDT, but without the fresh bergamot or the current mandarin part. Then it settles with a very creamy vanilla mixed with tonka and spices, so upon drying, the anise, pepper, etc., become even more prominent. Because of its more marked spicy scent, I think it’s better suited for someone older; I don’t recommend it blindly for anyone under 25/30. It’s better to go for the EDT. Lasts about 5/6 hours, with moderate to low projection and sillage. It’s a fragrance to shine in dates and intimate situations, all year round but leaning more towards nighttime.
The new version smells good… but today I’m wearing this original and it’s amazing; that vanilla-leather base is addictive. Don’t hesitate if you have to choose between the two.
A fragrance for mild or cold days; on my dry skin, vanilla, lavender, tonka bean, musk, and leather stand out. It’s incredibly addictive, miles better than the new Armani Code Parfum—at least in Mexico, it’s not as easy to find there anymore (I don’t know if it’s discontinued). It’s linear but smells great, ideal for formal occasions or dates, with moderate projection and a low sillage; it lasts about 7 to 8 hours.
It smells so much like suede, haha; I feel like I’m in a stationery store surrounded by rolls of foam.
I’ve always said it and I stand by it: this perfume is the modern Le Male, perfectly suited to have been Le Male Le Parfum.
