Neither do I like nor do I dislike it. Oud and vanilla dancing a waltz, with cardamom and sandalwood waiting their turn behind. Pepper is also lurking in the dance zone. The drydown seems tremendously medicinal, dry, and quite harsh. As hours pass, it softens and becomes more pleasant, but it doesn’t fully convince me because you have to wait too long. Excellent performance. You have to really like Oud to adore it. Quite linear. For autumn and winter. For the night. Very long-lasting longevity. Heavy sillage.

  • Mancera’s Aoud Vanille is a fragrance where you either hate it or love it. In the opening, the oud is very marked, smells medicinal, not ‘fecal,’ following the tradition of this house and its ‘sister’ Montale. That said, it’s much more pleasant than the agarwood used in The Aoud and Aoud Line. The oud is very well balanced with saffron, a traditional combination that, in my opinion, enhances that medical supplies scent. This sensation lasts about 40 minutes on my skin. From the start, you can perceive the vanilla, giving a perception of burnt vanilla, perhaps due to the mix with the previous notes. After a few hours, the vanilla gains presence, lowers the medicinal aspect, and leaves a sweetened, toasted, and woody base, thanks to the sandalwood and guaiac wood. Spectacular performance, lots of presence, and with just 3 sprays. A very balanced mix, harmonious balance between oriental and gourmand.

My pH absolutely kills all perfumes. For example, Chanel No. 5 lasts me about an hour, and with my nose right against the skin, maybe two more hours; La Vie Est Belle by Lancôme is like putting on baby cologne, and Alien lasts about four hours close to the skin. A disaster! However, I’ve worn this for five hours and it survived a good shower with soap. And it’s still there as if nothing happened… For those with less destructive pH than mine, it might be too much, I don’t know, but it has conquered me. At first, it seems very masculine and a bit dry, but once it dries, it settles down and becomes sweeter without being cloying. I’ve loved it.

  • We discovered it through a suggestion from a sales associate at a perfume boutique in Spain. Definitely masculine, and I say this while having several in my collection that are sold as such but I judge to be unisex. This one doesn’t seem unisex to me. Great essence, woody notes stand out, moss, spicy spices, and a touch of vanilla: the smell of the forest in full summer! According to my husband, it reminds him of the Black Forest in Germany from his childhood. Strong, elegant, masculine, oriental… classic.

  • It hurts to say it, but on me, it was disgust at first sniff. It smells very medicinal, like a dental office. There was no chemistry as it developed on my skin. Others might like it, it’s very personal. I just couldn’t handle it. From start to finish, total failure.

Aoud Vanille reminds me of the smell of a feedlot. That aroma connected me to my youth working there: crushed grains, flours, powdered vitamins, and livestock insecticide. It smells like a veterinary pharmacy and pig food. How hard it is to consider this a perfume when, after work, I had to shower to get rid of it before going out with friends. Fortunately, as it dries down, the bitter scent yields a bit to a creamy base with vanilla and sandalwood, but that initial aura never fully disappears. Good thing I only bought a 5 mL decant. Definitely, with niche perfumes, you have to be careful, especially with oud. Better to test them first; sometimes they’re exquisite, other times repulsive. I passed with Mancera, and look how many I’ve tried that I liked until now.

Aoud Vanille reminds me of the smell of a feedlot (that barn for animal feed). That scent connects me to my youth when I worked there: crushed grains, flours, powdered vitamins, insecticides… that ochre mix, so… it smells like a vet pharmacy, feed for pigs, cows, and horses. How hard it is to consider this a perfume when, after work, I had to shower like crazy with shampoo to get rid of it and go out with friends. Fortunately, as it dries, that bitter medicinal scent yields a bit to a creamier base with vanilla and sandalwood, but believe me, that opening aura never fully goes away. Good thing I only bought a 5ml decant. Definitely ‘waters’ compared to niches, especially the overused oud. Better to try them first, as sometimes it’s exquisite, but other times it’s repulsive. With this Mancera, I’m moving on, and look, I even liked all the others I’ve tried until today.

  • This is simply wood-vanilla or vanilla-wood, without misinterpreting the ‘simply’ part! It has incredible quality, longevity, and sillage. To my nose, there’s no medicinal oud here that usually drowns everything out. It was a blind buy based on a YouTube review by TLTG Reviews, and it didn’t disappoint. Love at first sniff.

It hurts to say, but it smells as masculine as Tom Ford’s Noir for Her, but watch out: it’s the perfect version of that perfume. On a man, it’s beast mode, but on me, as a woman, it’s spectacular. I love it from the first spray to the end, and the longevity is on another level… It surpassed everything I’ve tried. Try two splashes, then shower with water, soap, and a sponge at full force… and two hours later, I can still smell it ON MY SKIN. This isn’t perfume, this is a tattoo. For men, it’s blind buy, and for women, if you like Black Orchid and Noir by Tom Ford, you’ll love this too. It’s superior in quality and same style. It’s in my top 5.

  • It was a blind buy after reading it was like the Tom Ford Noir but even more perfect. Total hit. It’s said to be unisex, but on my skin, it’s absolutely feminine. A very intense woody vanilla that lasts hours and hours. It’s a fragrance you need to have.

  • Franz Xaver

A delicious fragrance that opens synthetic, with notes of cereal sacks, a medicinal touch, and a shoe grease smell (from the mix of peppers and cardamom), all blended with caramelized vanilla and the ever-present oud. On my skin, it evolves into a vanilla cappuccino with whipped cream and sugar on top. I couldn’t stop smelling it! It’s one of those you want to eat. The projection and longevity are brutal. Something curious happened to me: the cap fell on my pillow, and five days later, I woke up with the smell on the pillow, relaxing and inviting. I enjoy it more in its later evolution, which is exquisite. The final breath is a subtle, comforting, and vanilla-scented sweetness. I would use it in warm climates, but since I’m fascinated by it, I think it’s more versatile in the cold. If you like sweet oud and slightly medicinal, don’t hesitate to buy it.

  • Franz Xaver

A delicious scent that initially smells synthetic, like bags of cereal, slightly medicinal, and shoe grease (due to the pepper and cardamom), all mixed with caramelized vanilla and the ever-present oud. It evolves into a vanilla cappuccino with whipped cream. The projection and longevity are brutal. One day, the sillage fell on my pillow, and after five days, it still smelled of vanilla, relaxing me. I enjoy it most in its final evolution, that last sweet and comforting sigh. Ideal for warm climates, though versatile. If you like sweet and medicinal oud, buy it without hesitation.

Mancera Aoud Vanille starts with a medicinal oud wood, ‘dentist’ style, which caught many by surprise. They add spices and cardamom, a solid combination. The vanilla does magic quickly: it’s not the typical sweet one, but almost smoky and very crafted. Over time, everything boils down to that vanilla + oud association: vanilla-scented, smoky, and woody. If you’re looking for this style without the sweetness hitting you, it’s your fragrance. The power is beastly and the projection is very good. It leans more masculine, but I’m sure some women will love it.

  • I first tried it in a decant and the medicinal opening didn’t do much for me, but months later, with more cold, I loved it. The dry down is top-notch; it smells like malted vanilla with burnt wood. I almost bought the Mancera Vanille Exclusive, but every time I smelled the Aoud Vanille, I liked it more, and in the end, I bought it because it feels more masculine, though I don’t rule out the other one later. On my skin, it lasts about 10 hours; the sillage is a bit heavy, it’s sweet, so it’s great for cold and ideal for going out or the office.

  • Hombre_Perfumado

Huge opening with a spicy, peppery hit of pepper and saffron, followed by medicinal oud combined with vanilla. It has an easy-to-use oud that’s pleasant, though slightly medicinal at first, but nothing to scare you off. It finishes with a vanilla-woody base. It’s practically what Mancera offers in this fragrance. Bestial longevity and projects very well for the first three hours. Very well done, though it does feel a bit synthetic in some notes.

  • GabrielPS

As soon as I tested the sample, I knew the bottle was mine. It’s an elegant, woody, and vanilla-scented aroma, very balanced and harmonious. I use it daily; it works great for work, going out, or anything, because it’s super comfortable. It feels cozy, balsamic, and enveloping with great depth and lasts hours. No one is bothered by it; the vanilla gives it that sexy touch. It’s not gourmand; it’s one of my favorites and I’d buy it again without hesitation.

  • Hombre_Perfumado

It starts with a dry hit of pepper and a touch of saffron, soon that medicinal oud mixed with vanilla appears. It’s an accessible, pleasant oud, though at first it smells a bit medicinal, nothing to scare you. It settles into a vanilla and slightly woody base. Basically, that’s what Mancera does here. The longevity is beastly and it projects like a mother for the first three hours. Very well done, though sometimes it feels a bit synthetic.

DO NOT BUY BLIND. If you don’t like sweet fragrances, this isn’t for you. In my experience, I couldn’t handle it. It’s very sweet, to the point of causing nausea. It’s a heavy fragrance, for cold climates and nighttime settings. It’s unisex; although I’m a man, a woman can wear it without issues. The vanilla and floral touches make it a bit feminine. It reminded me of three scents: 1. Candy canes opening a bag of marshmallows, 2. Medicinal syrup, and 3. Vanilla protein powder. That said, it’s a fragrance that doesn’t fade even after washing with soap.

  • rorropirroro

I don’t recommend buying blind if you’re not dying for sweetness; for me, it was unbearable and even gave me nausea. It’s a heavy fragrance, ideal for cold and night. It’s unisex, though with those floral and vanilla touches, it feels a bit feminine. It reminded me of three things: opening a bag of marshmallows, medicinal syrup, and those vanilla protein tubs for the gym. The only good thing is that it doesn’t wash off even with soap.

  • It’s a dark oud with vanilla halfway through, sweet but not cloying. The oud and saffron are marvelous, elegant, and regal; a bona fide masterpiece. If you like oud and vanilla, don’t think twice. It has reasonable similarities to Oud Wood and Dark Aoud, but with vanilla, simple!

  • If I had to choose just one perfume for the cold, without a doubt, it’s Aoud Vanille. It’s a delight: well-marked woods bathed in delicious vanilla with spicy touches. No dessert-like vanilla; it’s super balanced and I love it. It’s cozy, pleasant, exquisite, and very long-lasting with a nice sillage (just don’t abuse the sprays). I don’t see it for fresh days (those 72-degree ones) or heat; within my tastes, it’s totally winter, for those days under 59 degrees with drizzle that goes right to the bone. That’s where this fragrance comes in because it warms you up, welcomes you, and cuddles you. It’s a must-have, I LOVE IT!

  • Direct and no-nonsense fragrance: a real hit of oud highlighted with pepper for a balsamic touch, accompanied by cardamom and flowers that stay in the background against a vanilla present from the start and growing until it equals the oud. Depending on your skin, this vanilla-oud mix with saffron and spices can feel sticky or plastic, like a fresh toy doll out of the box, which might be off-putting. That’s why I insist on testing it on skin before buying. While it has a challenging profile, I don’t see it as oriented toward women; quite the opposite. I recognize there are other more creative options on the market with woody and vanilla bases, and Mancera has other perfumes that twist vanilla differently. The best advice is to visit the official website and order samples (in the EU, a set is very cheap) to find your favorite. Congratulations to everyone who enjoys this Aoud Vanille in cold weather.

  • One of the best perfumes I’ve ever tried, a divine gift. I’ve never smelled vanilla this good, paired with exquisite oud. It’s an explosive fragrance with brutal projection and longevity. You don’t know whether to sniff it or eat it. A sublime gourmand, 1000 times recommended.

  • This is one of the best perfumes I’ve ever tried. 😍🤩 A gift from God 🕉️ I haven’t smelled a vanilla this pleasant, with an exquisite oud. It’s an explosive fragrance, with mega projection and longevity. You don’t know whether to smell it or eat it 😂😂😂 An exquisite gourmand 😍🤩 1000 x 1000 recommended 🕉️🕉️🕉️

  • Hombre_Perfumado

Strident opening of saffron, totally spicy and oriental, with a certain freshness and a powerful, sensual, and elegant start. Then it turns into a ‘dirty’ and ‘dusty’ saffron until the oud, the star note, appears. The saffron gives way to dark woods; the oud takes over and the magical accords shine. It’s a friendly and wearable oud in the dry down, but somewhat rough and medicinal at the start, drunk on saffron and spices. It’s not until the heart phase that the other star appears: suddenly, a sweet and sensual, soft, and creamy vanilla that bathes the oud. It leaves a wonderful combination of oud and vanilla that lasts until the end, accompanied by subtle touches of sandalwood and other woods.

  • Abdel - Perfumeros.com

Sweet, smoky, and dry vanilla, driven by pepper, saffron, and an oud accord with a medicinal nuance. The saffron gives a leather sensation in the dry down. However, the perfume feels incomplete and abrupt. It gives the impression that it’s missing elements that could have better balanced or softened the composition.

  • Wow, what a beast, I love it totally! Although it feels a bit more ‘masculine’, when I wear it, I feel terribly feminine and sexy. It doesn’t evolve much; it’s a great vanilla with oud, some saffron, and cardamomo, wonderful. I use it for dates, meetings, dinners, theater… nights with friends. I’ve also worn it during the day, though it can be invasive for some. It definitely works better in cold climates, where it wraps around you. On my skin, it lasts over 8 hours (something unimaginable given my skin’s pH, where others fade quickly), and on clothes or sheets, it can linger for days. Warning: some people don’t like vanillas, and unfortunately, in my country, electrical cords are aromatized with a synthetic extract that, when burned, smells similar: it happens that people with a weak sense of smell think it smells like a burnt wire. It makes me laugh, but it’s something to keep in mind.

  • As usually happens with Mancera, the name leads you to think of something else. Yes, it has Oud and Vanilla, but the undisputed star is Sandalwood. Since I atomized it months ago, I got the idea of a spicy oriental sandalwood. It starts with a soft touch of saffron and a marked pepper; I don’t detect cardamomo, I guess it tempers it. Then comes a slightly synthetic vanilla and the oud, accompanying an omnipresent sandalwood from start to finish. It brings superficial memories of Homem Dom de Natura, which is far from a flaw but rather a compliment. Many say it has a Babycat vibe, and yes, it does, but they’re different paths. If you like woody orientals and this sandalwood-vanilla combo, I recommend trying it. To be objective, I give it 8/10. I’m not a fan of sandalwood, but this interested me a lot. Gender: Unisex Masculine. Longevity: 8 hours (good). Projection: 2 meters after an hour. Rating: 8/10, one of the best woodies from Mancera, if not the best. For those tired of Oud with Rose, this is the way to go. Highly recommended.

  • tatonico

It’s literally a Dom de Natura, but more feminine (shifting from masculine to unisex) and obviously more refined. Very rich, wood and vanilla, nothing more.

  • Exquisite perfume with that medicinal oud, the signature of the Mancera/Montale house. It has a gorgeous vanilla that adds a sweet touch, but it’s not gourmand. It doesn’t have much evolution; it’s more linear. If you don’t like complex scents, this is ideal. It has great projection and longevity. I wore it the other day and it reminded me of something familiar; turns out, as a perfume lover, I’ve created two of my own fragrances using essences, molecules, absolutes, and resins, and bingo: the Iso E Super, that woody-ambery molecule, smells exactly the same.

  • Aromantico10

Hey guys, sorry to be the buzzkill, but this smells a ton like the Lattafa one that keeps showing up in suggestions. This one has better quality, without that harsh alcohol blast that sometimes makes the Lattafa version unbearable. I don’t get why they don’t mention it.

  • Dark, smoky vanilla, not the typical stuff you see everywhere. A blend of burnt oud, lots of saffron, and buzzing spices on top. Smells like smoked wood with vanilla and spices. It’s fairly linear without much evolution. Reminds me of Bvlgari’s Orom, which is rounder, less spicy, and higher quality. Since I already own Orom, I don’t see the need to buy this Aoud Vanille, but at this price point, it’s an absolute steal.

  • I gave it a second chance and wow, I’m keeping it. It’s a burnt vanilla with saffron and oud, mind you, not that sweet vanilla trend like SWY, ATMW, or JPG.
