  • Refined and standout scent. At first, you notice a bit of bergamot, but everything is covered by iris, which blends with the chestnut and a base of woods and whisky. Good longevity, 7 hours. Recommended.

  • labrito03

A chivalrous and quite distinct perfume despite being commercial. You can smell the whisky, iris, and chestnut right from the spray. The combination forms a chocolatey accord in the dry down. The bergamota opening lasts as long as nothing, though it doesn’t bother me, nor would I have included it in the composition. After 20-30 minutes, it becomes a semi-powdery iris and chocolate perfume that doesn’t exist, with a whisky base that makes you feel like a total gentleman. Performance (dry skin): Moderate projection for 2h, then it reduces to close range, but it’s not a second skin; it’s a personal bubble of 15cm. Moderate trail for the first 2h, then soft but still there. Longevity 7 perfect hours, after which it becomes a second skin. Batch 2022, bought 3 months ago and luckily it’s still the same.

Wow, what a rich aroma. Seductive, elegant, sexy, and hugging. It’s a combination between its sister, Gentleman EDP, and Dior Homme Intense, a chocolatey scent thanks to chestnuts and amber, with that touch of Scottish whisky that adds elegance and that delicious iris that makes it very sophisticated. Very sexy scent.

If you want to be a gentleman of substance, this is your perfume. Nothing more to add. It’s not for disco kids. Tip: to increase longevity and trail, apply it on clothes, preferably on a formal vest; it sinks in even more into the fabric. It lasted 10 days on my clothes, that’s all I have to say.

  • Hi everyone! My experience with perfumes is critical because they don’t last long on my skin, but I appreciate them with esteem. This Givenchy Gentleman Réserve Privée radiates warmth, like a thick coffee with whisky. It smells like a grandpa to people under 25, but to those over 30, it says they smell incredible. Interesting to wear at night in winter or on cold days in enclosed spaces; since it’s thick, it has an effect in small spaces if you want to stand out. Opening 8/10, Longevity 10/10 (12-14h on skin, 24h on clothes), Projection 9/10 (top 3h), Product 9/10 (fine and discreet bottle). Cheers.

Very similar fragrance to the EDP, but here the whisky feels strong at the start and then fades into the base. What really shines is the chestnut, vanilla, and powdery iris, all very masculine. If you already have the EDP and like it, you’ll surely love this one. If you don’t have either, go for this: performance is where it differs most from the EDP, with more power in projection, trail, and longevity. Lasts 8+ hours on skin and clothes. An 8-hour trail, though it can cause fatigue for the wearer. 3-hour projection, but it doesn’t radiate much; it’s for those who come close. More details on my YouTube channel: Rosko Perfumes.

  • Batch 5A01 (January 2025) / 200ml: The best in my collection. Intimate aroma, a star for romantic dates, but also perfect for everyday wear. As a lawyer, I seek elegance without overdoing it; its short projection isn’t noisy in the office, but the longevity is excellent. The dry down features iris and chestnut as main notes, with whisky, woods, and an amber base; bergamot is only noticeable at the start. I imagine a late afternoon/evening on a terrace, having a Scottish whisky, well-dressed. Curiosity note: the opening smells like a crushed insect (ephemeropteran), you either love it or hate it. Don’t buy blind. Autumn and spring are its seasons; in freezing winter it lacks strength, and in hot summer it feels suffocating. Preferably in enclosed spaces. Longevity 8-9h, sometimes more, but it stays close to the skin to be enjoyed. Strong projection for 1h, moderate for 2h, then skin scent. The trail stops being perceived, but when you turn your head, you feel it. Same as my previous bottle. Thanks, Givenchy.

  • Exquisite perfume from start to finish. Formal and seductive, very masculine, it adds versatility despite its warmth. Ideal for autumn, winter, and crisp spring days. The explosive opening gives way to an intimate scent, like a hug. A subtle freshness sensation accompanied by the sweetness of a Scottish whisky, velvety and slightly boozy. Then the powdery iris appears (not chalky like Dior Homme Intense), mixed with chestnut and benzoin, creating a mysterious and elegant floral-gourmand accord. Lasts over 8 hours with contained projection and class. It doesn’t shout; it presents itself with distinction. Perfect for work, formal meetings, or dates. My favorite in the Gentleman line and the one I use professionally today. If they don’t reformulate it, I’ll buy it again.

  • chomiaquitox

My mistake was buying it without trying it. I saw the whiskey and the wood and thought ‘it has to be good… Come on’, but I had to give it away. After a few minutes of use, my head started hurting from the strong smell.

  • There was a moment (more or less when I realized I couldn’t get into a nightclub without back pain) when I understood I needed a different perfume. That’s when Gentleman Reserve Privée entered the picture, and since then, it has accompanied me like that reserve whiskey you don’t open often, but you know it’s there to remind you that being over 40 isn’t bad. The first time I tried it, it seemed almost boring. The opening has no intention of impressing; there are no sugary sparks or synthetic notes disguised as freshness. It’s sober, almost flat. And yet, that’s where it differs from perfumes for kids who still collect sneakers. This one doesn’t seek to charm in the first five minutes. This one plays a different game. Givenchy knows this well; its Gentleman line was born in the seventies as a symbol of refined masculinity and has evolved with the times. Reserve Privée is the culmination of that evolution. A perfume that doesn’t ask for immediate attention because it knows it will have it in the dry-down. Quality whiskey, woods that smell of seriousness, and a warmth that needs no explanation. One of the most elegant endings you can find. It smells like a briefcase, a heavy crystal glass, and clothes ironed by someone who doesn’t live with their parents. It smells like solvency. It’s ideal for autumn, for those who don’t need to project youth but style. It’s not versatile, not playful, and certainly not for everyone. It’s serious, mature, and a bit distant. And in that distance lies the charm. If you wear it under forty, it will look like you’re using your father’s cologne. If you wear it over forty, it will look like you finally understand what it means to be a gentleman.

  • I bought 15 decants from Notino a few days ago to try several perfumes, this was one of them. 24 hours after smelling it, I had to order the bottle, simply spectacular.

  • Givenchy Gentleman Réserve Privée 🍺🍫 What a chivalrous fragrance. It’s luxury, elegance, and power in a bottle. From the first spray, it conveys personality and masculinity, with an aura of mystery that makes it stand out as something serious and secure. In my collection, it lives alongside the heavy hitters like Dior Homme Intense or Prada L’Homme. Maybe that’s why I use it less, not because it’s inferior, but because it plays in the same league as formal perfumes. Still, every time I wear it, I’m surprised by its quality. Also, the bottle is one of the best: compact, elegant, and well-designed. The fragrance opens with woody and spicy notes, soon wrapped in a chocolatey accord. It’s not an artificial or youthful chocolate; it reminds me more of dark, refined chocolate, a Ferrero served with class. The whiskey is key: it adds warmth and sophistication, combining with the chestnut which gives a creamy nut texture. The iris is noticeable, though not as dominant as in Prada, but adds softness, a powdery and sweet touch with a certain feminine facet. The result is balanced, where the whiskey, chestnut, iris, and amber stand out. Its performance is correct: it lasts about 7-8 hours on skin, but the projection isn’t excessive. It leaves a close sillage, ideal for intimate interactions. It’s a perfume to be enjoyed up close. I consider it masculine, with a unisex nuance that allows a woman to wear it with equal elegance. It’s for night, perfect for winter or formal events. Wear a tie or a suit: wearing it casually would be disrespectful. However, it works at dinner with friends or a night out with a certain formality. On dates, it shines: it’s not playful, but serious, direct, and sexy in a mature sense. It projects someone who knows what they want. It’s formal, attractive, and seductive without overdoing it. The price is fair, and Givenchy has created one of its best fragrances in recent years. It’s easy to find, so you can try it before buying. Even as a blind buy, it’s safe for those who like sweet scents with liquorish nuances. In conclusion, it combines iris, whiskey, and chestnut in a sophisticated and elegant composition. Formality made into a fragrance, an accessible luxury that shows why Givenchy continues to set the standard. Scent: 10 👃 Originality: 10🌟 Sillage: 7 💨 Projection: 6.5 🔭 Longevity: 9 ⏳ Versatility: 7.5 🔄 Formality: Elegant/Formal

  • Guillermo896

I was hooked, seriously, it smells way more expensive than it costs. The whiskey and amber are the best.

  • La nariz traviesa

A woman with red lips in a liquor store. For me, this is a source of trouble. The moment I slid my nose near it, I knew nothing would ever be the same. Seductive, enigmatic, attractive, and full of character. Are we talking about a perfume? Yes, there’s a whiskey cocktail waiting in the lounge, while in another scene chestnuts are roasting, and you wonder what kind of aroma this is. I’m not entirely sure, it’s that fortified sweetness that doesn’t seem to get you drunk but makes you want to keep drinking; sometimes it conveys intimacy or mystery, other times power and dominance. All of this is accompanied by a classic elegance that has little to do with wearing leather shoes or drooling. I see it as a perfume for that day when you want to sign something important, to say: ‘Here I am, despite all my good and bad decisions.’ I see it as formal, enveloping, and seductive. Mature and intellectual in equal measure. A delight for perfume lovers.

  • To be honest, I don’t sense the supposed whiskey it’s supposed to bring, but maybe I’m just addicted to smelling and drinking whiskey (yes, yes, they are different) straight from the bottle. The truth is, it’s a very sweet perfume and reminded me a bit of DHI for the iris, but they have nothing to do with each other; that said, it’s very long-lasting.

  • I’m not an expert on notes, but it smells like chocolatey whiskey with a touch of lipstick; the citrus is way off in the opening, but it’s a very rich scent. I’ve gotten compliments, it lasts quite well, it doesn’t have a massive sillage to flood the room, but people will definitely notice it.

  • valentinophantom

Excellent, spectacular, outstanding. Very good perfume, MUUUUUUUUUUUUUY good perfume. My next purchase is a sure thing. I went to try it and honestly, I missed an opportunity by not buying it. Well, at least I took an Azzaro TMW Parfum, but this one stands head and shoulders above it. Masculine, sweet but not cloying, with notes of coffee, chocolate, and whiskey. As soon as I have some cash, I’m buying the 200ml bottle of this Givenchy masterpiece. Not too expensive for what it is—a total beast.

  • I absolutely love it. It’s elegant, masculine, and very striking; I always get compliments whenever I wear it. It’s one of my favorites because if you dress well and elegantly, this adds that special touch that was missing.

  • My favorite elegant perfume, this Reserve Privée is beautiful in every way. I can’t imagine a life without it. It’s one of those perfumes that embraces you with class, gives you presence, and makes you walk differently. When it runs out, I’ll replace it. And when it runs out again, I’ll replace it again, and again, 1000 times.

  • The tester left much to be desired. Let me make it clear that I’m not a fan of this type of aromas; I prefer sweet ones. My girlfriend smelled it and didn’t like it at all, and knowing the type of perfumes she likes (at least the ‘model’ style), this doesn’t fit for her compliments. There was a huge hype around this perfume. Unfortunately, it disappointed me because I imagined other notes (I’m not a big expert).

  • I tried it today at ECI; a Givenchy salesperson sprayed it on a tester strip (the salesperson didn’t even know what cologne he was selling, he just said ‘Gentlemans Society’). I can’t handle it; the whisky smell seems unbearable to me, my nose can’t tolerate it. Note, I’m not saying it’s bad; in fact, my wife loves it, but unfortunately, I’m only capable of smelling the whisky, which already turns me off. The rest of the notes are irrelevant because for me, it’s overshadowed by everything. Cheers.

  • Let me start by saying something obvious: this perfume isn’t for everyone, definitely not a blind buy, and it won’t generate compliments as you walk by like others, but at least to my taste, it’s somewhat addictive. First, it opens with marked woody notes (this is personal) with a smell similar to chocolate; then it evolves into whisky, which, although prominent, leaves room for the other wood notes to shine, creating a unique and recognizable scent for those who know the subject, and in my case, extremely addictive. Aside from the scent, the longevity is good: the top notes last about 15 to 25 minutes, and the fragrance develops for another 5 to 9 hours; after that, it fades. However, in my opinion, the biggest drawback is the trail; if you want people to smell it where you go, you’ll have to reapply it several times in the same spots, because its trail, although it exists, is very faint. In conclusion, if we talk only about the scent, it’s a 10/10, but if we add longevity, trail, and price, it drops to a 9.5/10. Still, it’s an excellent fragrance that deserves respect.

  • Very good perfume. It’s exquisite. The note I notice most is iris. The others don’t stand out much; it’s more of a sweet iris with a hint of chocolate. It’s a serious perfume that exudes elegance. It’s quite long-lasting. The trail is soft and the projection is moderate; in the end, it stays close to the skin. In the first hours, it smells very much like you. It’s very pleasant. 8 out of 10 (overall)

  • Not a blind buy, but if you like woody fragrances, in my opinion, there’s no better option. I understand it reminds people of Dior Homme Intense, but this smells richer and has more notes that give it an incredible touch. The only downside is that, in my opinion, it doesn’t last long and has a weak trail; I don’t know if it’s my chemistry, but if it lasted longer and had more projection, it would be the perfect perfume.

  • Five months ago in winter in Canada, and I’m already tired of woody perfumes, but this one always smells elegant, refined, and select. That’s the key: REFINED. Perfect for night, formal settings, and classy men.

  • Aka_Kaiser22

This perfume boosts your confidence, like you’re about to fix the world. Okay, just kidding: it’s a respectable man’s scent, maximum status. Pure elegance. Iris, woods, and talc—the classic DNA—plus the whisky that gives it a warm, expensive touch. The longevity on clothes is no joke; it lasted three days outside. Projection isn’t its strong suit; it lasted about two hours on me. Perfect for autumn-winter, formal events, and dates. Don’t wear it to the supermarket. It’s eminently for night, though I like it on cloudy days; it projects like crazy. If it had more projection, it would be a bomb, but it’s one you must have.

  • FranElPerfumeLoco

Incredible perfume. Very masculine, with that dominant man essence that has everything under control. It’s not one of those you smell from miles away (like the Armani Code line). It’s personal; it invites people to come closer, ask for a hug or advice from the guy wearing it. It’s elegance in a glass bottle. Almost like the best whisky. If Tommy Shelby existed, he’d wear this perfume 🙂

  • There are no words to define this masterpiece. It’s not for the young or the old; it has a lot of presence. I really love the whisky note. This winter, it was my go-to for dinner dates.

  • Good perfume with great longevity and projection, but it doesn’t explode because it doesn’t need to. Smells like talc with whisky barrel wood and roasted chestnut; very elegant. From a distance, it sometimes smells like baby powder, but I find it very refined; it’s the most refined thing I own. I wore it at the supermarket yesterday and only noticed the longevity, which is great. It projects for an hour or so, then fades but not to skin-level; you still smell it with movement. Lasts 8 hours on skin and until the next day on clothes. Good performance for what it is: dates and the office on nice weather. Very good fragrance, definitely the best in my collection.

  • Reminds me of Hipoglós pomade, but with an elegant touch of iris, chestnut, and whisky. I wouldn’t wear it out with my current age, but I wish it lasted 50 years so I could take my wife to a refined place.

  • Jaime Aguilera Letelier

Totally worth it for special occasions in autumn or winter. Smells like whisky with a sweet touch, kind of like chocolate. I recommend it 100%.

  • I tried it at a perfumery and didn’t like it at first, but I knew it was good. Now I love it. That blend of whisky, wood, chestnut, and iris is my favorite from the brand and one of my favorite elegant, masculine scents. I can’t comment on longevity, but if you’re looking for something mysterious, elegant, and masculine, it’s for you.

  • quepasalarvah

Some perfumes tell stories, and this one takes you to a cozy winter refuge. It’s my second bottle and I’m still head over heels. It captures the essence of an expensive whisky with woods and chestnut; exquisite. It’s serious, formal, and elegant. The longevity is brutal, almost 9 hours. If you’re looking for niche quality, give it a try. It’s elegance and sophistication in a bottle.

  • One of the few iris scents that actually hook me. At first, it smells very feminine, but later it turns masculine, and I prefer it that way.

  • Gerardo Vallejo

I was aiming for Dior Homme Intense, but I tried Reserve Privée and was blown away. It’s not for teenagers, but it feels more modern and lighter than the Dior. It’s delicious and elegant, perfect for a 20-year-old. I recommend it way more than the Dior, which is rich but too dense. This one is pleasant, youthful without losing class.

  • porquenohayconoloratetas

I sprayed it yesterday and I still smell like chocolate. It smells way too much like chocolate, but that’s how it’s supposed to be.
