Crush by Akro

I walked into the perfume store not expecting much from this scent. Based on earlier reviews, I assumed it would be just lightly sweet roses and that was it. Even though this perfume isn’t a beast despite being an extrait, I can say I left the mall pleasantly satisfied: for three hours I kept smelling this fabulous scent right at skin level, and my nose kept demanding more. Crush on my skin is one of those scents you notice as you move; it doesn’t have silage, let alone projection, but it does stay with you for a good while. The whole time I smelled it, that initial rose turned, after twenty minutes, into delicious, crunchy macarons; after an hour, I suddenly smelled something similar to lemon cake? I even wondered if they had sprayed me with Bake, but no: I saw the pink bottle and clearly saw them give me a couple of sprays of this. After a couple of hours, I smelled a candied sweetness that I still can’t identify, but it took me back to my childhood. This Crush actually made me smile. I definitely want it in my collection, and I feel lucky that on my skin it turned into that flirtatious little dessert I didn’t know I needed. Longevity? Long. Projection? None. Personal enjoyment? 1000%.

The day this fragrance by Akro, a niche brand from Olivier Cresp, arrived in my country, I got to try it, and I have to mention that I fell madly in love with it, because I love that it mimics an aroma of macarons, which are my favorite dessert. Earlier I had gotten to know Bake and had it in my sights, but Crush stole my heart. To my nose, the almond is very noticable, but it isn’t an elegant almond like in other perfumes; it’s more of a sweeter almond. I’ve already put it on my wishlist, and I hope you’ll add it soon too.

I expected a gourmand and found a floral; I expected praline and vanilla sweetness and found rose. It’s very pleasant, but it doesn’t smell like macarons to me. It smells overwhelmingly of rose, and in the background, very far back, something sweet with a slight nutty touch. Good thing I ordered a decant to try first, because if I’d bought it in the full size, I would have regretted it.

It smells EXQUISITE. It’s an elegant, light perfume, but I feel it has great sillage. I’m not a fan of the smell of rose because it smells too heavy and old-fashioned to me. But in this perfume, it’s so well wrapped in the sweetness of praline, lychee, and almond that you end up loving it. I only have the decant, but it’s a perfume I want to have to use when I go to a wedding, when I get married, when I sign the deposit on my apartment, and at important events where I want to smell beautiful. When a perfume is done well, you can only enjoy it, and it can’t be cataloged.
