Smells amazing and rare, like a mix between Initio’s Oud for Greatness and Oud for Happiness, with a leather base (even though it’s not listed, it just gives me that vibe) or that Hamdani-style oud from PDM, plus that sweet note reminiscent of Baccarat Rouge. I don’t know, it smells like something you already know if you’re familiar with the perfumes I just mentioned, but on its own, it smells great. Projects luxury and lasts quite a while. It’s not versatile, though that’s subjective; oriental perfumes are used year-round in places with extreme heat, but here they’re labeled for winter or fall because we’re not used to strong scents in the heat. Try it out and pick the occasion you like, because in the end, you’ll love it.

  • It’s about 80-90% similar to Oud for Greatness, but here it feels less potent and more sweetened by that praline note. If you already own Haltane and OFG, this is redundant. Right now, if I have to choose, I stick with Initio: it’s more addictive, masculine, and has personality, though it’s a bit more challenging and less versatile. In terms of price per milliliter, the Parfums de Marly creation wins. They cost the same, but one comes in 90ml and the other in 125ml. Edit: After trying it these past few days, I’m liking Haltane less and less. It seems they copied the OFG DNA and added a praline that doesn’t quite fit. Some might love that extra sweetness, but I don’t. It doesn’t feel as rounded as the original.

  • Rich aroma, lasts long, and projects a lot; it’s a magnet for compliments. If you’re interested in 5 or 10ml to try it out, message me.

  • A tremendous fragrance, a beast in terms of longevity and projection. I went to buy Kalan and tried this; what a surprise it gave me on the skin. I left with the bomb, it lasted 24 hours, so I didn’t hesitate. I bought it. It’s pricey here in Argentina but worth every penny, absolutely beautiful!!!

  • Incredible fragrance, a beast in terms of longevity and projection. I went to buy Kalan, tried this one, and what a surprise on my skin: it was a bomb. It lasted 24 hours, so I didn’t hesitate, bought it on the spot. It’s pricey here in Argentina, but worth every penny, it’s a total beauty.

  • My dad went to Mexico City and brought me this fragrance from Palacio de Hierro, and I have to say, ‘what a beast of a perfume!’ Generally, I focus on commercial and designer perfumery, but this scent hooked me, and I plan to keep coming back for it, even if I have to save exclusively to buy it. Impressive, a Gentleman aroma with great presence. People, acquaintances, and strangers keep asking me about the name of this amazing perfume. And although I generally never brag about my personal scents, this one I’m proud to show off. I bought it blind, and it won’t disappoint.

  • First impressions: it’s a softer, friendlier version of OFG with a touch of sweetness. It has that aromatic lavender and freesia vibe that’s really pleasant. OFG is like a sledgehammer that’s harder for me to wear, while Haltane is quite easy to handle within this style. Please don’t compare it to Oud for Glory.

  • First impressions: a softer, kinder, and slightly sweeter OFG. It has that aromatic touch of lavender and clary sage that is very pleasant. OFG is like a sledgehammer that I find harder to wear, whereas Haltane is quite easy within this style. Please, don’t compare it to Oud for Glory.

  • Smells great, a safe bet for a well-westernized oriental aroma. As previous comments rightly say, it smells like a mix of known niche fragrances. If you’re new to Oud and want to try something safe, go for Haltane. If you’re the type who prefers a predominantly natural Oud, this isn’t for you.

  • Oud. You know what they say about Tom Ford’s Oud Wood—that since it’s a very tamed oud, it’s perfect for introducing yourself to the note? Well, no, it’s this one. It’s a clean, versatile oud; there are more notes around that accompany and round it out, but overall, what dominates is an easy-to-wear oud that everyone will like. Unlike Tom Ford’s, this one projects and lasts incredibly well. I don’t remember its scent clearly right now to say exactly how long they’re similar, but it’s quite likely that if you like one, you’ll like the other. Cheers.

Impactful fragrance where I recognize a slightly bitter vetiver omnipresent in the base; it’s the ingredient that lingers most on the skin, far more than the oud. Absolutely masculine, penetrating, with a cold dry-down and a solid finish. The projection, trail, and longevity are powerful. Try it before buying, especially given the retail price.

A striking fragrance with an omnipresent bitter vetiver in the base, the ingredient that lasts the longest on the skin, even more than the Oud. Absolutely masculine, penetrating, with a cold dry-down and a punchy finish. Powerful projection, sillage, and longevity. Try it before buying, especially given the sale price.

  • avasquezniche

Very similar fragrance to OFG but sweeter, with a dark twist perfect for mysterious scents. I always wonder why everyone calls it Oud if it’s your first time trying it. People, this only has one Oud note; they use tertiary accords to recreate it and add a nuance. These are purely synthetic perfumes. How can anyone think it contains real Oud? Please, use a bit of logic. It’s tastier than Oud for Greatness, which despite the name, is just for the masses and tries to create hype among the public that thinks it’s niche. It has good longevity and is versatile for night wear. If you want something sweet, eye-catching, mysterious, warm, and above all sexy, this is an option. If you’re curious about Oud but just want to try something with the name, this isn’t absolute. Real Oud gives nuances that people don’t understand when they try to create hype without mastering the subject. Why, without Oud, do they manage to create woody and smoky nuances that confuse? They use a Cypriol and patchouli accord that gives a potent stale effect with little quantity, plus other notes like ISO E Super, sandalwood, and saffron to balance the composition, but Oud always stands out. I felt the need to clarify this even though it goes beyond pure perfume talk, because I see many people saying this has a darker Oud than Oud Wood. I want you to understand that, logically, if Oud is more expensive than gold in Saudi Arabia, how can a $150 designer fragrance have it? No way, it’s all synthetic nuances and nonsense. The concept of Oud is being prostituted, which is why I emphasize this so you don’t later claim that Arabic clones or designer scents contain real Oud.

A clone of Oud for Greatness 😁 If you’re thinking of buying an OFG right now, better not—they say they reformulated it and it turned out weird. Grab Haltane instead and save some euros.

I tested it with a 10ml decant to avoid mistakes, and it’s a fragrance very similar to Lattafa Bade al Oud for Glory; there’s nothing new here, in fact, I prefer Lattafa. Parfums de Marly would be like an Eau de Cologne version of Lattafa—less cloying, less heavy, or less sweet. It’s very light, in a way, as if made for use on fresher days or with a little warmth. Without being so heavy, it’s 80% similar to Lattafa. Its longevity is weak on my skin; for the price they charge, I think their performance is insulting: 2 hours of sillage with a mediocre aromatic bubble, and then it fades to skin-level. For that, I prefer Hartnell from Fragrance World, same performance and better price, and its similarity to Haltane from Parfums de Marly is 95%; the aromatic bubble lasts a bit longer. I’ll go with that option, I think. At first, I didn’t know if it would be the same as Parfums de Marly, and since they are so similar, I’ll save their dollars vs. performance. Some might say: ‘aaa, it’s because of the quality of synthetic ingredients and blah blah’… nowadays perfumes are created in labs through chemical synthesis and natural essences, which are enhanced and stretched to the maximum, etc.; you’d have to have a dog’s nose to distinguish that, and that won’t happen.

  • Good perfume, a quite sweet and well-behaved oud, sweeter than OFG. On its opening, I feel it lacks that tanned leather note, just very sweet… I’m not into sweet perfumes nor an Oud fan, but this one is very good, nothing complicated to wear, and smells great in all its phases: opening, heart, and base. As the meme says, I can’t find any flaws in it.

  • I really like it. It has what I look for in OFG and takes away what I don’t want. I don’t feel the spices as much as in OFG. Overall, I sense it’s more wearable, versatile, and pleasant. I perceive a drier oud, and above all, a sweet accord (no idea if it’s praline) that really attracts me. In my mind, the sweet accord draws a picture of a very ripe, sweet fruit. Weird, right? Less in the heat, it works all year round. It’s versatile for occasions and ages, for the office, formal events… whatever. It lasts over 7 hours with good projection. On the negative side, I’d only mention the price.

  • Haltane is a very attractive Oud fragrance, similar to Initio’s Oud For Greatness. Many consider it a more wearable version, thanks to its aromatic and fruity components that make it more versatile. In my opinion, Haltane presents itself as a hybrid between Oud For Greatness and Oud For Greatness Neo. Its performance is outstanding, both in longevity and projection, making it an excellent option for those who enjoy the DNA of Oud For Greatness. However, I deduct a point for its lack of originality. Still, it’s a very well-executed fragrance, and I recommend users to try it. As for my personal opinion, I prefer Oud For Greatness, but there’s no right choice when it comes to selecting fragrances.

  • Haltane is an elegant perfume, somewhat fresh and to a certain degree versatile. While Oud is usually associated with ‘formality,’ this fragrance has that fresh touch that makes it a bit more wearable. This perfume isn’t for elegant occasions; it’s for someone who is elegant. A true delight.

  • It’s a dry oud that’s bearable only with a lot of cold. There’s something sweet or fruity underneath the oud, but it’s a scent I just can’t stand. Where I live, it rarely drops below 64°F (16°C) even in winter. It’s not for me. Plus, I asked two people about the fragrance’s smell, and one said it smelled like burnt plastic, while the other said it smelled like screeching brakes. I’ll have to sell it or move to a place further north.

  • Really strong, super oriental, too much oud and seems to have a peppery kick; when it dries down it gets sweet. Warning: don’t buy blindly and don’t wear it in summer, it will overwhelm you and everyone around you. As a recommendation, just spray 1 or 2 times; if you overdo it, you’ll smell like gasoline and you won’t be able to handle it. Two sprays last 9 to 10 hours. Good luck with this beast of a fragrance.

  • Pabloquinte

This is a perfectly balanced combination of oud and fruity notes, neither too much of one nor the other. In my opinion, it’s the best perfume from PFM. There are clones and Arab dupes for a fraction of the price, but they’ll never deliver the quality this one brings. Elegant, classic, and contemporary all at once. Test before buying because the dry-down is quite an experience.

  • Haltane hits hard right from the first spray. It strikes a perfect balance between a modern sweetness and a deep woody base that gives it character and gravitas. It’s not cloying or juvenile; it’s a masculine, structured scent with true identity. What stands out most is its distinguished air. It feels elegant and confident, with that refined touch that doesn’t need to shout to make an impression. The light sweet note softens the composition, but the woody base keeps everything grounded and solid. It’s not delicate or harmless; it has substance. I see it as perfect for mild and cold climates, where it shines naturally. It’s versatile: works for daily wear if you like to smell classy, or for formal situations where you want to project maturity. Out of everything I’ve tried from the house, this is the one that convinced me the most. It has something that connects: contemporary elegance with character. My rating: 4.3/5.
