Descripción

Vibrant Leather Extreme by Zara is a woody oriental fragrance for men. Launched in 2024, this creation is a new addition to the brand's collection. The nose behind this composition is Jérôme Epinette. The top notes unfold with bergamot, lemon, and mandarin; the heart reveals black leather and saffron; while the base notes settle on Egyptian papyrus, earthy notes, patchouli, and cotton candy.

It’s a straight copy of Morning Chess by the same creator, Jerome Epinette. Basically, it’s a Vibrant Leather with more punch and longevity, featuring that leather note at full volume. In the original, the leather was just a subtle hint; here, you really feel it. It adds a sweet touch of cotton candy. Ideal for anyone looking for something fresh on cold days. If it cost 200 euros as a niche scent, no one would say a word. Tremendous Zara perfume that puts to shame those who always claim ‘Zara scents don’t last’.

  • Huge inspiration from Tom Ford’s Ombre Leather, considering the price and notes. The only thing holding it back is the citrus opening; with the leather and saffron at first, you get confused, even doubting if you made the right buy. I feel like adding so much of that slightly synthetic note was a mistake. But once the citrus fades, the other notes take center stage, including a somewhat sweet base that adds creaminess, turning it into a very good perfume. Projection +3h, longevity +8h, much more versatile than the original. Not a blind buy like the others that inspire it. You either love it or hate it; for me, it’s the best of the Vibrant Leather line so far (yes, now you really feel the leather… and yes, it really vibrates!). 9/10.

  • I sprayed it on my hand and thought it was vulgar and cliché, ready to toss it. But once it dried on my skin, the magic appeared, and I came back for more. It starts with a citrus splash that lasts a breath. Then comes a spiced, smoked leather that lingers until the very end: smoke with spices. The cotton candy isn’t what you’d expect; paired with the spices, it creates an ambered ‘sweetness’ that adds body. It’s dark, mysterious, alluring, pleasant, long-lasting, and a compliment bomb. At 22 euros, it could pass for 80 if it weren’t for the Zara label. Excellent purchase, value for money 10/10.

It’s a fragrance traced directly to Morning Chess by the same Jerome Epinette. In short, a Vibrant Leather with extra power and longevity, with the leather note dialed up to max. If the leather in the original was just testimonial, here you truly feel it. It also features a sweet touch of cotton candy. For me, it’s ideal for those who enjoy fresh scents on cold days. If it cost 200 euros as a niche scent, no one would say a word. Tremendous Zara perfume that puts to shame those who always claim ‘Zara scents don’t last’.

  • I tried this fragrance, and honestly, Zara is trying hard with proposals that seem innovative, but not in this case. It has a strong, raw hit of saffron and citrus, seeming more like a hybrid between Oud For Glory (which already has traces of dried Baccarat Rouge 540 and Zara Red Temptation) and a timid version of the original in the base, losing the fresh and versatile spirit of the initial Vibrant Leather. In fact, The Dua Brand released something similar in 2022 with better quality, their famous hybrids, and it’s on the line of Casino Elixir 2.0. The leather isn’t what you’d expect and I don’t find a direct link to Ombre Leather; it doesn’t follow that sophisticated and floral line, but rather reminds me of synthetic suede or leather shoe cleaner. Longevity is good, about 8 hours, but with little projection. It leaves an earthy, invasive patchouli that doesn’t leave a good impression. It’s suitable as a limited edition, especially for enthusiastic collectors who buy a bottle with every collection believing it’s the best version to date, due to the number of creators who always say the same thing (‘perfume bomb alert’, ‘best vibrant from Zara’, etc). For my part, for now, I’ll pass.

  • Finally, a Vibrant Leather that lives up to its name! A worthy successor to Black XS. It begins with a soft, sweet citrus of mature bergamot, giving way to black leather alongside saffron—not too intense but persistent—providing a very sensual masculinity. At the base, the cotton candy combined with soft mandarin remnants delivers a spectacular finish. I believe it has the same fixative as Shamanilla; I smell the same ash-and-sugar base that lingers. It lasts longer than the other Vibrants. This perfume is enchanting, proven. The best of Zara. 04/2025.

The best Vibrant Leather alongside Cologne, no doubt, try it! It opens with an acidic mandarin peel and immediately spices up thanks to the saffron before transitioning into a very dark leather, extremely versatile. It doesn’t declare smoked notes or pineapple, but to my nose, it smells like ripe, juicy pineapple. The smoke is like the trail of tobacco, that smell of creosote on clothes, to culminate in a base of wet earth (like pavement after rain), slightly sweet, reminiscent of caramelized sugar. It’s a resounding 10/10: a perfect hybrid of Hacivat’s smoked pineapple, Ombre Leather’s dark leather, Baccarat Rouge 540’s subtle sugary sweetness, and Terre d’Hermes’ earthy moisture. Compliments? As many as you want, though sometimes people say you smell like a mausoleum. Longevity? Easily +8h if applied on clothes until the next day. Projection? Heavy for the first 2h, reactivates with sweat. Sillage? Monstrous, especially if it’s hot and you’re walking, you leave a good trail.

The best Vibrant Leather alongside the Cologne, no doubt, try it! Opens with an acidic tangerine peel and quickly spices with saffron before giving way to a very dark, yet extremely versatile leather. It doesn’t claim smoky or pineapple notes, but to me, it smells like ripe, juicy pineapple; the smoke is like the tar trail on a smoker’s clothes. It finishes with a wet earth base (like asphalt after rain), slightly sweet, caramelized sugar. A solid 10/10: the perfect hybrid of Hacivat’s smoky pineapple, Ombre Leather’s dark leather, Baccarat Rouge’s subtle sugary sweetness, and Terre D’Hermes’ earthy dampness. Did it deliver? Whatever you want, though sometimes people say it smells like a mausoleum. Longevity: easily +8 hours, if you put it on clothes it lasts until the next day. Projection: heavy for the first 2 hours, reactivates with sweat. Sillage: Monstrous, especially if it’s hot and you’re walking, you leave a great trail.

  • I’m obsessed with Vibrant Leather and Oud; the Elixir is brutal, but this Extreme? I have no idea what they put in it. I can’t even handle it for 10 minutes—it gives me nausea and makes me dizzy until I have to take a shower right away.

  • I love Vibrant Leather and Oud Vibrant Leather, and the Elixir is spectacular, but this Extreme… I don’t know what they put in it, I can’t stand it. It makes me so dizzy I had to wash it off in less than 10 minutes; it gives me nausea.

It smells like nail polish remover or solvent, just like the Black from Top Manta. I don’t get why this has good ratings. It doesn’t last and it smells terrible, the opposite of what it should be. It’s like that terrible movie that somehow won two Oscars and everyone praises it just to seem special. This is a pointless, horrible scent—I don’t understand it at all.

It smells like varnish or solvent, just like the black one from Top Manta. I don’t understand why it has positive reviews. It doesn’t last, and it doesn’t smell good; quite the opposite, it smells terrible. It’s like that terrible movie that somehow won two Oscars and got great reviews just to seem special. This is the same: a horrible, nonsensical scent. I don’t get it.

The opening is similar to Nitro Intense, but that resemblance is very brief. It reminds me of the smell of OFF mosquito repellent, very acidic if you will. Compared to Nitro Intense, which it most resembled in terms of price and opening, I recommend Nitro Intense. They say it smells like Creed Aventus Absolu, but personally, I haven’t smelled that fragrance.

  • thephenomenal1

It smells exactly like Nitro Intense, but it fades very quickly. To me, it smells like that acidic mosquito spray, very sharp. If you’re looking for something similar at this price point with that opening, I recommend Nitro Intense. They say it resembles Creed Aventus Absolu, but I haven’t tried that fragrance.

  • GerardoLedezmaMadas

It needs more testing. That leather note doesn’t quite convince me, but maybe it would work with fewer sprays and more distance. I’ll only buy it if I find it on sale.

  • jmartinezledo

Very personal opinion: it’s not the best Vibrant Leather. I bought it blindly and it doesn’t win me over, except for its longevity and dry-down, which gets closer to the original after a few hours. The opening is harsh, with a sharp saffron note and very artificial leather that fatigues the nose; you really have to apply very little. From the line, the Oud is the winner. Don’t recommend buying blindly!
