I walked out of the store and tested it: I had to spray it three times and I was left speechless. To me, it smells like floral floor cleaner with industrial levels of linalool, I can’t believe it. Damn, this isn’t for me. I don’t recommend buying it blind; go to the store to test it because it might please or disgust you immensely. It’s very polarizing. ☝️ In short, for my taste.

For those criticizing this perfume: I confess that at first I hated it too. But you have to wear it 2, 3, or 4 times to realize it’s unique and amazing. The first time it smelled like wilted roses, like flowers decomposing in a cemetery. I don’t know how I asked my wife and she told me it smelled incredible, even that I smelled rich (something about the perfume must have changed me, haha, like going from Neanderthal to David Beckham). Sincerely, I couldn’t believe it. With more uses I understood its scent: lots of pepper and rose, something sweet. Lasting power is brutal. What’s true and I agree with many: don’t wear it more than 3 or 4 days in a row, because it gets tiring and boring, you might even end up hating it. But it’s a beast of a perfume. Try it more than three times.

This is a p*** masterpiece. The best designer perfume that exists. Period.

Honestly, it’s an incredible fragrance, I agree with several reviewers: don’t buy it blind. It’s complex, it leans towards niche. When I smelled it for the first time, it impacted me so much that I didn’t test it on my skin, which wasn’t the right thing to do. I bought it and when I used it I abused the sprays on a humid and hot night. Certainly, it’s for the night, preferably autumn and winter; it’s youthful, sophisticated, and elegant. After a long time I bought it again with a different perspective: three sprays are more than enough, its longevity and sillage are very marked. I use it at the office and with the right dose it’s a compliment machine and very pleasant for oneself. I hope this helps you. If you want to try something different without fear of regretting it, Toy Boy is a gem. Watch out: don’t use it in intense heat and don’t abuse the sprays.

It doesn’t deserve all the hate it has. It’s true that it smells like tamarind with flowers, but that doesn’t make it bad; at least I like it. It’s not a blind buy, since it’s not a scent for everyone, but still I consider the perfume to be good.

  6. After a few years with it and using it very few times, I gave it away. I can’t handle that rose smell, I’ve ended up hating it. And that even though I tested it before buying with a sample. Very original and very different, but not for me. I agree with the YouTuber CurlyFragrance, who advises against this fragrance. I recommend testing it well before buying and, if you finally buy it, grab the smallest bottle in case you change your mind after using it for a while.

Exquisite scent, I don’t understand why some don’t like it, will they have a fragile masculinity? haha, just kidding, I consider it a unisex perfume. Very rich and special, it’s not like all the fashion perfumes. It smells like rose, but a dark rose, like a black rose. It’s a quality scent, for nothing does it smell cheap; in fact, it has a niche aroma. The longevity is more than optimal and the projection is excellent.

I can’t understand the popularity of this perfume. Maybe it’s its so eye-catching bottle… To me it seems to have a niche perfume smell: not very versatile, hard to understand, it’s not made to please the masses, nothing conventional. What do we have here? Half-dead roses, pepper, and a sour base. A perfume at least strange, informal, and maybe unisex. It’s not to my liking. Don’t go crazy buying it blind.

  9. Toy Boy is an intense fragrance, with good projection and longevity. I consider that aromatically it’s not for everyone, because it can result in being very overwhelming. It’s like a Lattafa Zanzibar but tolerable, given that the Arabic one is unbearable for me because it’s too piercing and aggressive to the nose.

Where do I start. I bought it recently and I didn’t have many expectations seeing the hate it had. But the truth is, it’s so, so, so but taaan underground and different that it blows my mind. Nothing to do with the (and saturation) avainillada and gourmand trend we’re living through now. It’s a rose and floral perfume, period. That’s all. 100% unisex. Don’t buy it blind, not even joking. I think it’s elegant, refined, and classy, and as I said, alternative. I wouldn’t use it for work or daily wear, it’s more for some informal situation, relaxed outings with friends, or if you’re already a total rooster, even for a date. It’s not for everyone. Perfume +30 total. Kids of Invictus/One Million/Carolina Herrera stay away. Quality-price ratio is very good and the longevity and projection are crazy. Be careful with the sprays, it can become annoying. Personally, happy with the purchase.

Smells completely different from what designers are launching in 2025-2026. I like it; it’s distinct, full of personality. If I had to describe it, it smells like a bouquet of freshly picked roses from the florist, ready to give to your partner, with a masculine/young touch that the pepper surely adds.

Reformulated, noooooo. This is one of my favorite designer fragrances. I was going to gift it to a friend who had complimented it on me (because on women it’s divine too), but luckily I decided to try it myself. It was beautiful at first, but then it faded into nothing… The store was trustworthy, Primor, I’ll try it again elsewhere, but others have had the same experience. I’m praying it was a mistake and it remains that budget gem. I’m so, so, so tired of reformulations; companies should label them like version 0.002… You buy your usual perfume, and when you put it on, it’s a total switch.

A perfume not for everyone. For me, it’s very good and I’ve had many compliments. I recommend it.

  14. Smells good; the opening has many different opinions, like bad Argentine sweets or wet tamarind in Mexico, but if you don’t know much about perfumes, it’s good for a gift. Yes, the clove gives the effect of smelling like freshly cut wood and lasts quite a while. The thing that can be emphasized most is that it survives dry or hot climates quite well; it’s one of the few perfumes that does well in such drastic climates. It’s something I kept in my collection just for when I went walking or rock climbing. If you get many compliments and people ask for the name, in summary it’s good if a woman smells it, but if another man smells it, he might not like it.

I’m changing the review because the previous one was so bad I deserved to delete it. If you’re Mexican and know the smell of tamarind, it’s normal you won’t like it. In Argentina, no one likes it because of its dulce de leche-like sweetness, but outside here it’s the favorite feminine fragrance (even if it isn’t). The truth: it smells like roses, but when mixed with pink pepper and touches of nutmeg and clove, it hits you with tamarind. 7.3/10. I wouldn’t use it myself, but on someone else it’s not unpleasant. It’s the perfume with the most divided opinions in history, just like Terroni or Lafayette Street. You either hate it or you love it.

  16. Rose, quite heavy and long-lasting. Projects a lot and lasts all night. Not for everyone, but the price-to-quality ratio is good. Don’t buy it blindly; it’s something different from what you usually wear from designer brands.

When I was 16, I was in love with this scent. Every time I went out with my friends, I’d steal a bit from my uncle, put on 4 or 5 sprays, and lose myself for the afternoon and night. Recently they gifted me this bottle, and out of nostalgia I was happy, but sadly I can’t find a time to use it. I’ve never seen opinions so divided: some are disgusted by it and others are fascinated by it. That’s why I avoid enclosed places like universities. I had a family reunion and it seemed informal, as my partner smelled like a Mexican sweet called Rellerindo. If I had to say when to use it, it would be at 12 degrees with friends, between 15 and 25 years old. Lovely perfume, beautiful projection, and good longevity, but sadly it’s not for everyone.

One of my favorite perfumes. It’s super unique and I love it; it will likely be my signature fragrance for a good while.

  19. A perfume that brings back memories of your deceased grandmother when you go to leave her flowers.

Between tamarind and sandalwood, Toy Boy is polarizing: you either love it or hate it. The opening surprises with an acid-sweet tamarind touch, a vibrant start that confuses and seduces. The rose blends with cashmere, evoking Santal 33’s sandalwood. It gives it a sophisticated, ambiguous vibe. As time passes, it becomes a sweaty skin and sandalwood scent, intimate and carnal. Each stage has distinct nuances. It’s not for everyone, but those who dare discover delicious aromas. It demands mature minds. It doesn’t dictate occasions; you decide when to wear it. It never provokes absolute rejection; it leaves people wondering if it smells good or different, but never ‘you smell bad.’ It’s complex, bold, and true to the creator. That’s why 8/10: it’s an olfactory statement that defies norms and is enjoyable in every stage.

  21. I’m a girl living in southern Chile. Now that it’s spring, near summer (December), with wind and 20 degrees, I feel the rose note perfectly. It’s like a soft rose bath, and the spicy base smells very aromatic with multiple layers. It tends to be feminine, but the dry down isn’t sweet; it’s more salty and dry, like aromatic wood with flowers. In winter, it’s very masculine—I wouldn’t wear it. The amber base is too acidic for me. It has great trail and longevity.

I thought it was for men, but it works great on me, so I bought it. Smells like wood and spices; I detect rose, pink pepper, vetiver, and nutmeg, but it ends with a tamarind twist. At first I thought it smelled like cucumber, but no—that’s the new flanker. It doesn’t smell like coffee. I wear it day and night in fall and winter, mostly in winter.

Honestly, I can’t find anything good. I try to find something positive every time I smell it, but I can’t. To me, it smells like cemetery flowers, a funereal aroma that disgusts me. I don’t recommend it at all. The only good thing is the longevity and projection, which are excellent, but the scent is horrible.

  24. Not for everyone, especially not for those who only wear One Million or Born in Roma. It’s different, full of character, a fucking delight.

  25. lisandro.cgs

It’s one of the fragrances that has gotten the most praise from me, with great presence. If you wear it, you’ll be noticed. Just don’t buy it blindly. I tested it at a shopping mall and then decided to buy it months later when it was on sale. It’s not for everyone; it’s love or hate. I love wearing it because I always feel it, and that gives me confidence. Recommended.

  26. Monoborracho

I wore it once, and honestly, I don’t think I’ll repeat it. That said: I can’t take away its merits. It has amazing performance and a trail that gets ahead of you anywhere. The scent is impossible to miss, even if you try—it’s a clean punch of roses. The intense mix of rose + clean has a mystical touch… and here’s the curious part: that rose scent is the same one used in the Christian liturgy of my hometown, and to me, it smells exactly like my grandma’s house. Magical, nostalgic, and emotional, yes… But to wear it as a perfume? Not a chance, thanks. I respect it a lot, but it’s not for me.

  27. Honestly, this perfume should be one of those cases studied in depth. How mixing such different ingredients can result in a whole that smells like something none of its parts do. I don’t smell rose. I don’t smell oud, or almost any of the notes listed on Fragrantica. It smells like prepared tamarind soda. It smells very tasty and juicy. Fresh at all times, even 5 hours after drying. And it lasts… it lasts forever. Essential to have in your collection if you’re drawn to that scent profile.
