  • This must be one of the best cherry fragrances in my collection. It has a very noticeable trail that leaves proven marks. Although you don’t notice its intensity when wearing it, people around you definitely do. It’s sweet without being overwhelming or cloying, and the cherry is different from the traditional kind, wrapped in labdanum, violet, tonka bean, and heliotrope. It’s very pleasant, especially if you like sweet vanilla/powdery scents. It’s an unmatched blend; for me, it’s better than Tom Ford’s Lost Cherry and other cherry-based fragrances. It’s very unique; I have nothing similar, and I applaud its originality. Longevity is 10. I’m delighted with this purchase! Size is perfect for my taste 👍🏼

  • I like Rouge Smoking. It features a deep, smoky, and vanilla cherry that is long-lasting and pleasant, with tonka bean and heliotrope giving it a powdery touch. It seems more androgynous, with a feminine fruity side and a masculine smoky side, though I see it more as a woman’s scent. The cherry is delicious, the protagonist without being acidic or invasive. I recommend it for autumn, winter, and cold spring mornings. Its scent is red, just like the liquid. Inspired by Pigalle, that artistic and bohemian Parisian neighborhood; hence the red and smoky notes that evoke the Moulin Rouge atmosphere. It has character, feels great, lasts hours, and leaves a trail.

  • One of the best cherries I’ve ever tried, with a powerful trail that makes an impression even though it doesn’t feel as intense when worn. Sweet without being cloying, featuring a cherry unlike the usual ones, wrapped in labdanum, violet, tonka bean, and heliotrope. A delightful treat for lovers of sweet, vanilla/ambroxan scents; a unique blend that surpasses Tom Ford’s Lost Cherry and other popular cherry fragrances. Singular, original, and with a longevity of 10. Absolutely thrilled with the purchase and the size! 👍🏼

  • I like Rouge Smoking. It features a deep, smoky, vanilla cherry that is long-lasting, energizing, and very pleasant. Other perceptible notes are tonka bean and heliotrope, which give it a powdery touch. I found a perfume so well-crafted that I think it should be a signature scent. It has the perfect balance between the sweetness of red cherry with vanilla and tonka bean, the creaminess of labdanum, the seduction of violet and heliotrope, the mystery of smoke, and the sweetness of pink pepper. I don’t detect bergamot or orange blossom. Its constant evolution makes me keep smelling my wrists, with perfect projection and over 8 hours of longevity. It makes me feel happy, it’s versatile, slightly feminine unisex, and absolutely beautiful.

I’ve found a fragrance so well-crafted that I plan to make it my new signature. I don’t detect bergamot or orange blossom. It’s a fragrance with constant evolution that forces me to smell my wrists, with perfect projection and longevity over 8 hours. It’s moderately sweet but not cloying. I detect pink pepper in the opening, the cherry, and a smoky touch. To me, it’s sweet, fruity, and smoky. It leaves a trail wherever you go. Y9 feels refined and different, something you won’t find with just anyone wearing it. It’s expensive, but worth it for the quality and because it’s truly unique.

  • 2021’s love at first sight (better late than never). One of my favorite gourmands to date and the best cherry note I’ve ever smelled in perfumery. It’s not a syrupy, boozy cherry like Lost Cherry; this is much better. Sweet without being cloying, smoky, and incredibly seductive, slightly powdery from heliotrope, mildly spicy, and very warm thanks to tonka bean… in short: perfect. It’s not beast mode, but it’s clearly perceptible without being invasive. Lasts about 7-8 hours. Fun fact: when it dries down, it reminds me of the female version of a men’s perfume I know, my partner’s signature, Spicebomb Extreme… don’t ask me why, but what a surprise and wonder. I love it, I love it, I love it.

  • This was the BDK perfume I most wanted to try, but the first spray didn’t win me over, and after two uses, I wouldn’t buy it. I admit it has an addictive appeal that generates so much love. It has lots of cherry and spiced vanilla, with a slight powdery touch and orange blossom floral. The opening is citrusy and spicy due to bergamot and pepper, but it doesn’t last. It sounds good, but as a whole, it smells like a strange smoky syrup that I just don’t like. Moderate trail and over 8 hours of longevity. Although I’m intrigued and keep smelling my wrists, it has a slightly unpleasant aspect to my nose that makes me feel it’s not for me. Scent 4.5/10, Longevity 8.5/10, Trail 7/10, Value for money 6.5/10, Versatility 5/10, Packaging 7/10. Would I buy it again? No, I didn’t.

I splurged and bought Rouge Smoking plus a sample set from BDK. It’s pure cherry and vanilla: sweet, creamy, smoky, and spicy. Heliotrope adds a powdery note, while tonka bean warms it up. At first, it was weird sounding and reminded me of mouthwash lol, but once it dries down, it becomes more gourmand, like a red fruit panna cotta. It’s inspired by Pigalle, a Parisian neighborhood I adore: artistic, red, neon lights, and eclectic people. Rouge Smoking is that—bohemian and chic, like having the Moulin Rouge tattooed on your body. Seductive, mysterious, sophisticated, sweet, and feminine. The trail is medium/low and it lasts 4 hours. Totally not recommended to buy blind; many people dislike that syrupy cherry point, but I love it. I love the bottle too; simple yet aesthetic, and that red color is divine. It’s become my favorite cherry perfume! So addictive! ❣️

  • SeekerofHugs

I treated myself to Rouge Smoking and samples at BDK. It’s pure cherry and vanilla: sweet, creamy, smoky, and spiced, dusted with heliotrope and warm with tonka bean. At first, it reminded me of mouthwash, but once it dries down, it becomes gourmand, like a red fruit panna cotta. Inspired by Pigalle, that artistic Parisian neighborhood with neon lights and eclectic venues; it’s bohemian and chic, like wearing the Moulin Rouge tattooed on your skin. Seductive, mysterious, sophisticated, and feminine. Medium/low trail and 4 hours of longevity. I advise against blind buying because of that syrupy cherry note that doesn’t suit everyone (though I love it). Simple but aesthetic bottle with divine color. My favorite cherry scent and so addictive! ❣️

  • MINERVparfums

On my skin, it’s just three notes: cherry 🍒, vanilla, and a fusion of heliotrope and violets that give it that powdery touch. It lasts about 8 hours with moderate projection and trail for the first 4 hours, then fades. I love it and it deserves a spot in my collection 🥰 🍒♥️ I’m completely head-over-heels for this beautiful autumn and Christmas vibe in an elegant bottle 💯

  • Delicious fragrance. Sweet cherry that doesn’t smell childish. It definitely has a touch of incense, spice, and sweetness all at once.

  • I absolutely love this 100%! 😻 It’s so addictive that it almost makes me sleepy—a sweet, vanilla-spiced blend. The only downside is the longevity: on my skin, it lasts about 5 hours before fading to skin scent, and considering the price, I expected more. Still, it’s one of my favorite fragrances, and I’d buy it again without hesitation 🫠

  • Dama Incognita

It’s one of the scents I’m so glad I discovered. What a delight! I first tried it on a tester, liked it, and then bought the decant, probably the full bottle. It has everything I love: powdery, sweet without being gourmand, and original. I smelled the cherry at first, but then the violet and heliotrope took the spotlight (giving it that powdery touch). The vanilla and tonka bean dominate at the end, with the latter lasting a long time. The cashmere and musk base balances everything. I didn’t smell anything smoky. It lasted two days on the tester and all day on my skin without reapplying. P.S. I already bought it, and I like it more and more.

  • Carolina Casas

It’s pretty but nothing spectacular. Too much hype and marketing. Try it before buying to see if it’s a wow for you. For me, it’s a no; it lacks quite a bit. I ordered the decant excitedly, and honestly, it didn’t impress me. The cherry doesn’t dominate; the pepper takes charge, and the other notes are very weak. In my case, a definite no.

  • CRISKUIN23

What I like is the dry-down. At first, I didn’t get it; it smelled like cough syrup, but once it dried, I thought, ‘Ah, now I know why people like this!’. It’s different, lovely, and sweet. DO NOT BUY WITHOUT TRYING IT FIRST!

  • jessica_chinos

It’s strange that many compare it to Mandorlo di Sicilia, but this is the best cherry perfume I’ve ever smelled: mature, mysterious, sexy, and intoxicating. The smoky cherry with vanilla and violet is seductive and feminine. We could say that Tom Ford’s Lost Cherry is the girl in puberty and this is the woman in full bloom. I’ll continue testing it with a 10ml decant, but so far, it has me completely intoxicated.

  • jessica_chinos

It’s rare to hear it compared to Mandorlo di Sicilia… This is the best cherry perfume I’ve ever smelled. It’s mature, mysterious, sexy, and intoxicating. The smoky cherry with vanilla and violet is seductive and feminine. One could say Tom Ford’s Lost Cherry is a girl in puberty, while this is a woman in full bloom. I’ll keep testing it with the decant, but so far, it has me hooked.

  • I just received a 10ml vial and am running here to comment. It starts with cherry, then moves to sweet, warm vanilla. As it dries, the cherry remains with tonka and a bit of musk. If you apply many drops, you notice more pink pepper and heliotrope than violet. It’s a cherry perfume, smoky when dry, very vanilla-forward, warm, non-intrusive, with good sillage and longevity. Suitable for any occasion all year round.

  • Paniperfums

I have a decant because I wanted to test it before spending big, and I absolutely love it. It doesn’t feel complete to me, but it’s a warm vanilla with cherry and a light touch of resin. It’s gorgeous for fall and winter. The final vanilla is delicious, creamy, and high quality. I was surprised I like it since cherry isn’t my favorite note.

  • paulams024

I have a decant, and as it dries, it reminds me a bit of Tobacco Vanille, but with cherry. Tobacco Vanille gives me nausea, so I’m glad I only bought a decant. The scent is rich, but don’t buy the full bottle without trying it first.

  • At first, it smells a bit medicinal, and I don’t detect bergamot, just cherry. Once it dries, it’s a masterpiece: cherry, vanilla, and violet. It clings nicely to the skin and smells delicious. It doesn’t project much (I think it’s not meant for heavy spraying), but that’s a plus for me; it allows for a more delicate application.

  • darlenerock

Cherries aren’t my favorite, but they work perfectly here. It’s universally appealing; the cherry note is noticeable yet well-balanced. As it dries, it becomes sweet thanks to the vanilla and tonka bean. Super subtle, warm, and not at all intrusive. Lasts 8 hours on skin with moderate sillage.

  • MdmButterfly

It’s practically identical to Tobacco Vanille by Tom Ford. There’s not much more to say. I don’t even say ‘reminds me of’… it’s identical.

  • This scent is a very airy cherry and vanilla, with violet coming and going. The dry-down is sweet and warm, enveloping you in a cloud; the sillage is medium-low and the longevity is about 6 hours, which is acceptable. Now I want to try the extrait to see if it has the power I’m missing here. It changes a lot on skin; the first time I smelled it on paper, I noticed a cough syrup note. On skin, in my case, it transforms completely, and I only catch something medicinal if I focus and inhale very deeply. Test on skin before buying. Unisex and very versatile perfume.

  • In Argentina, the brand Sarkany launched an inspiration for Rouge Smoking; it’s about 90% similar and has better longevity. I compared it with the BDK version since my friend has a decant. Plus, it’s only $35 USD.

  • MartuFragances

The Why Not Desire by Sarkany (an Argentine leather goods brand that also makes shoes, etc.) is their latest fragrance launch, a fantastic dupe with beastly longevity and sillage. Beyond its exquisite scent, I was able to compare it with a sample from BDK, and the resemblance is astonishing, with a much better price.

  • When reviewing a perfume, you should discuss its qualities and flaws. A review should serve that purpose and not be used to advertise cheap clones.

  • Jmiranda, I agree with you. While we’re here to review perfumes, mentioning which fragrances remind you of it or noting similarities is also useful to get an idea of what to expect, especially in countries where niche scents aren’t easily accessible due to limited brand availability or high costs.

  • Beautiful perfume, subtle, but don’t be fooled by the ‘subtle’ label; the quality and longevity speak for themselves. Vanilla-forward, the cherry is understated.

  • A perfume legend, simply exquisite and sexy. If you’re a collector and you like sweet, high-quality, easy-to-wear fragrances, this is a great option.

  • oliendobonito

Intense and dark cherry, wrapped in pepper and a moderate sweetness that gives it depth without being cloying. It’s strong, heavy, sexy, and full of character; it’s not for everyone, especially if you have a sensitive nose, because the potency can be overwhelming. I don’t recommend it for the office: it’s too intense and projects a bold, nighttime energy. It works wonderfully in autumn and winter, when the cold balances its density. Although I see it as unisex, it has a slightly feminine nuance. The longevity is excellent: on clothes it lasts up to 10 hours with a noticeable sillage.

  • thesongofhecate

Rouge Smoking is my favorite cherry scent. If you love cherry-based perfumes, you’ll adore this and need to own it. It’s sweet, woody, and elegant; what I notice most is the cherry, tonka bean, cashmere wood, then vanilla, pink pepper, ambroxan, and heliotrope. To be honest, I prefer this version over the Extrait. I feel it’s perfect for cold weather, day or night.
