Descripción
Crème de Cuir by BDK Parfums is a leather fragrance created for men and women. Launched in 2018, this composition is signed by nose Violaine Collas. The top notes unfold a vibrant freshness thanks to pineapple, grapefruit, bergamot, and mandarin. The heart reveals a soft and warm texture with white suede, sandalwood, pink pepper, and pepper. The base settles into an enveloping accord of cashmere, white musk, grey musk, vanilla, and birch.

I don’t like it. It smells like cleaning suede with household products—an artificial, unpleasant odor that makes me dizzy. When it dries down, it smells like an older woman; it’s a completely feminine perfume. It projects moderately for an hour and a half, with 4 to 5 hours of longevity on skin. A dispensable purchase if you’re under 70, even if it cost 20€.
It opens with a sparkling, fruity pineapple top note, but quickly gives way to the true star: leather. It is extremely creamy, refined, and elegant, slightly spiced and sweet in just the right measure. If I think of the easiest-to-wear leather I’ve ever smelled, it’s this one. 100% unisex and super versatile. Lasts over 8 hours on skin. I love it as a second-skin scent: warm, intimate, and it shines at close range. It has something sensual and addictive. I love it.
It reminds me a lot of Bulgari Black, but six times more expensive. I don’t recommend it because it lasts very little on the skin.
I had high expectations and idealized it, but it’s not a bad perfume. I feel it lacks power and brightness in the opening, something Rouge Smoking definitely has. It’s more of a skin scent, for intimate moments where you get close to smell it. It has that sexy, sensual, and charming touch, but it doesn’t blow your mind.
I loved it from the first sniff. I generally don’t like the leather note—I’ve tried Tom Ford and others—but this one is different. It smells more like suede, like gloves or shoes. The fruity aspect gives it a distinctive touch and it has excellent longevity, lasting over 8 hours on me. The projection isn’t strong, but if you get close, they’ll notice. At first, it might smell like rubber tires, but within minutes it becomes subtle and the other notes emerge, making it very enjoyable. I see it as elegant, distinctive, and totally unisex. The price is worth it. Fun fact: it’s the owner of BDK’s favorite, even above popular scents like Gris Charnel.
The opening is a green citrus bomb, so bright it overshadows everything at first. Although it might shock you, it’s the best part of the perfume. The leather or suede barely appear on my skin; what dominates from start to finish is an intense musk. It doesn’t create an enveloping bubble, but rather a fine, clean trail. I don’t dislike it: it’s pleasant and easy to wear, even if it’s not the creamy suede idealized (like Russkaya Kozha). In two tests, it was a citrus explosion at first, and as it faded, a subtle mix with sharp bursts. Pleasant, but not what I expected. Worth trying.
