What can I say about this fragrance? Love at first sniff. Unlike other flankers, this lacks the marine notes that, personally, I don’t enjoy due to that salty scent. Light Blue Forever starts with a powerful grapefruit note, freshened up by bergamot. A simple combination, but those notes make it special. Safe blind buy, very easy to enjoy. 10/10.
A blast of pomelo all over the face. Perfect for fans like me who love bitter scents. It could easily pass for an Hermes.
Without a doubt, the best in the D&G Light Blue collection. Delicious and very prominent with grapefruit.
Okay. Right out of the bottle, it smells very strong of camphor, like you just doused yourself in a ton of it. You don’t catch any other notes at first because that scent is so overpowering. After about 10 minutes, the grapefruit and vetiver start to come through, with the vetiver being very dominant. After an hour, the grapefruit note becomes more noticeable and the scent becomes much more pleasant to the nose. It smells good, but it’s not overwhelming. In its final dry-down, that vetiver really shines through with a grapefruit base. The dry-down, if I can say so, is very rich, but it takes a few hours to reach its full glory. Longevity is 8+ hours on skin and clothes. The trail lasts on an arm for 3 to 4 hours. Big plus. As for the final dry-down scent, I’d give it a 7/10 because it smells great at that stage.
Today I heard they’ve discontinued it. What a disappointment, I honestly don’t get it.
Save your reviews because as far as I’ve seen, it’s been discontinued, even it’s not showing up on the official Dolce&Gabbana page anymore.
To sum it up: IT’S THE BEST of the entire Light Blue line for me (so far), especially since I don’t get along with the ones that have salty or marine notes. Lots of grapefruit at the start (I’d never heard something like that before), good longevity (6-7 hours). Highly recommended. Oh! And it’s discontinued.
Just arrived and I sprayed it on my wrist; the first impression smells like a fresh grapefruit soda, the kind sold in Mexico. Honestly, it didn’t give me a wow, but we’ll see how it evolves.
A simple, straightforward masterpiece. Although it’s very similar to Italian Love, for me, the Forever is a step above in every way. Would it be redundant to own both? If you can get them at a good price, no. If you absolutely love the scent, no. If Italian Love is enough for you, then yes, it would be redundant and an unnecessary expense. 10/10 for summer.
So handsome, honestly an exquisite scent, perfect for the heat where its projection is brutal and deadly.
It has the hand of Quentin Bisch, although Fragrantica credits another perfumer; I suppose it’s a collaboration. I mention the perfumer because, comparing it side by side with Ganymede, Bois Imperial, and Hermann à Mes Côtés (the name is longer), it turns out to be a perfume and its flankers. They all share that recognizable effeminate base from Quentin Bisch’s recent years, and the variation in Light Blue Forever leans into citrus; I’d say it’s the summer version of Ganymede, Bois Imperial the spring one, and Hermann the autumn one, stretching the seasons a bit since I see versatility in all of them. Longevity and sillage are more than enough, being a scent that everyone likes. The only downside… it’s not easy to find anymore, but there’s no doubt it’s a surprising perfume for these times when nothing surprises.
I tried it and it didn’t convince me, neither the grapefruit opening nor the dry-down.
How do you describe this wonderful natural citrus? First, congratulations to D&G for daring to create this amazing perfume, taking risks that not everyone likes in realistic and fruity scents, more in the citrus vein. It’s ideal for summer and spring; the opening is incredible, a bomb of grapefruit, tangerine, oranges, etc. It’s marvelous. I wouldn’t rule out this EDP for a mild autumn; I’d use it and write about it. Lasts easily 6 hours, trail of 4, and a very well-achieved quality by the perfumer. I RECOMMEND it blindly if you like citrus; if not, go for something less realistic and explosive. Cheers.
Every time I smell it with my eyes closed before putting it on, it’s like having a crushed grapefruit in my hand, with the juicy scent of the pulp and the rind releasing that bitter oil… It conveys a very natural and pleasant sensation.
It’s practically identical to Italian Love but lasts longer, projects more, and the grapefruit note is slightly toned down.
Attractive, acidic, refreshing, and juicy grapefruit opening. As it dries, it immediately smells like ozone: artificial, aldehydic, and with strong projection. That chemical touch gives it that ‘marine,’ clean, and metallic vibe. It lasts longer thanks to those compounds, since citrus alone is volatile. If you like solitary acidic fruits like bergamot or grapefruit but hate the ozone effect, stay away, because that synthetic vibe can get cloying.
Smells delicious! Taste is subjective, but if you like citrus and green notes (grapefruit, violet, and patchouli), you’ll love it. If it weren’t for the longevity, it would be my #1 for summer. On my skin, it lasts very little—two hours of trail, and by the fourth hour it’s skin scent. What a pity. I consider it unisex, leaning more masculine. Would I use it again? Yes, but only if gifted or on sale, because spending that much to smell it for just a couple of hours isn’t worth it for me.
The best summer perfume I’ve tried so far. I’d wear it every day if I could. Delicious, opens with a super-citrusy and strong grapefruit. Over time it softens and lasts for hours. The trail is top-notch and the longevity on skin is incredible, more than 24 hours. Wish D&G would bring it back; it’s getting harder to find every day since they discontinued it.
Smells great. The grapefruit opening is powerful but not annoying; quite the opposite, I love it. It lasts longer than Italian Love, about six hours on skin and even more on clothes. Very fresh. If you like citrus, it’s a win.
Too bad it’s so hard to find. What a delicious grapefruit! Something strange is happening with this one—even with my difficult skin, it lasts forever. After 10 hours, I can still smell it, and it projects so much at the start that people say I’m filling the room, which is unusual for a fresh scent.
What a gratifying experience to receive a fragrance that’s no longer available. The downside is that if you like it, you don’t want to stop wearing it, especially in my environment. For me, it’s a 10/10 in every way: refreshing and with such a realistic grapefruit note that even my sister can’t get enough of it.
Undoubtedly one of the best perfumes in HISTORY. Whether you know it or not, it’s a super wonder. Fortunately, I have four bottles, so if you can get it, BUY IT!!!
Hyper-realistic grapefruit juice, nothing more. Longevity is very short, even shorter than Italian Love.
I tried it in a sample and fell in love ever since. It’s a gem of perfumery, a 100% natural and non-synthetic grapefruit scent. I don’t usually like citrus, but I love this one. Knowing it was discontinued, I didn’t hesitate for a second to buy it. Exquisite trail, sure to turn heads. 10/10.
A must-have perfume for spring and summer. Super realistic; it brings back childhood memories of my hometown and my grandparents’ orchards, like squeezing a freshly cut grapefruit from the tree: citrusy, fresh, and enveloping without being bitter. I’m sad it’s no longer easy to find; it’s rare for such great scents to stop production. Although I’ve smelled the original, for now I’m content with a local dupe that’s 70-80% similar.
I’ve been wearing it for 3 months. It smells like grapefruit all the time; very fresh at first, but over time it becomes a bit drier. Longevity is excellent: projects well for the first 2 hours and lasts on skin for 6-8 hours. I’ve received many compliments. In extreme heat or outdoors, it’s the best option.
It makes me feel like I’m living on the Italian Mediterranean beaches under the full sun with a peaceful sunset, always surrounded by citrus where grapefruit rules. A TRUE DELIGHT. When I found out it was being discontinued, I bought an extra bottle to enjoy every summer.
It’s a commercial grapefruit juice. For us, it’s like Aquarius Grapefruit. Slightly carbonated, but barely. To me, it tastes like bitter grapefruit and it’s DELICIOUS. The fact that it smells like juice doesn’t take away from its realism. If you’re looking for something sweeter, I recommend Italian Love over this, but this is a gem.
One of the best fragrances I’ve ever tried and has become one of my absolute favorites. Fresh, citrusy, with grapefruit as the undisputed star.
While there are fans of the classic version, this is my favorite: rounder, fresher, and the ultimate evolution of something already amazing. It’s a juicy, luminous grapefruit that smells like blue ocean, filling everything with freshness and light. Plus, it’s super masculine and uplifting; it makes everything shine and stand out. It has elegance, presence, and charisma—it’s polished, energizing, and refined. It embodies Italian fashion with good taste and passion from start to finish. Wear it all year round; it’s an essential all-rounder for anyone who loves fresh scents. Buy blind without fear. Scent: 10. Projection: good (over 2h). Longevity: 8h. Highly recommended.
A fairly linear perfume with a powerful grapefruit opening: juicy and sweet, but you can also detect the peel and the bitterness of the albedo, very similar to the Quatro or Crush grapefruit soda that accompanies the entire fragrance. As it dries down, a violet leaf accord appears to cut the sweetness, with a soft woody base that gives it personality and masculinity. It reaches 8 hours on skin, projecting notably for 2 hours before settling into a personal bubble. Ideal for temperate and warm climates, it stands out more at night. Among all the flankers, my favorite is the Intense, a true delight recommended blindly; then the original, and third place goes to the Italian Love, very similar to the Forever but more balanced, sweet, creamy, summery, informal, and youthful.
Exquisite perfume, nothing else compares to how rich it is.
Exquisite, one of my favorite perfumes. I know it’s linear and doesn’t last long, but the scent is incredible, literally smelling like a grove of grapefruit trees or grapefruit juice with something green in the background. Too bad it’s discontinued; if you love citrus and can get it at a decent price, don’t hesitate.
Delicious, one of my favorites along with Afternoon Swim by LV. It fills you with freshness but also has class and elegance; you can tell it’s a fine fragrance. Many people have already told me I smell like a person with money 🤭.
The scent is incredible for citrus lovers; it’s the best citrus perfume in history. However, the Italian Love version smells very similar and projects much more. Watch out: the Italian Love is a touch sweeter and, as it dries down, smells more like passion fruit than grapefruit.
I grabbed it as a backup to the Light Blue Italian Love at a very good price. They are about 90-95% similar. The grapefruit in the Forever is stronger and more natural at the start and doesn’t sweeten as much as the peach in the Italian Love; it stays more linear with a more perceptible woody base. The Forever lasts longer (1h15 extra) while the Italian Love projects better during the first two hours. In air and on skin, they are indistinguishable, and both are iconic. Highly recommended and hard to find nowadays. Let’s not fall into the madness of speculators who price them at 150-200€; for that price, there are better niche options. In their day, they were a hit at a mid-range price, without the Naxos hype. Up to 80€ for 100ml is reasonable in Europe. These speculators of discontinued scents give me the creeps. Salu2.
A delight, a super realistic grapefruit blast right on the forehead. I bought it from a private seller for 95ml at the same price the perfumery currently charges for Summer Vibes, so it was a great deal.
Okay, I finally managed to get the last sealed bottle from this year for $77 in 50ml. At first, that bitter tone with aromatic nuances didn’t convince me, so I left it on the shelf until it got hot and I could truly enjoy it. It’s an acquired taste; my friends didn’t get it either at first. It’s a rich, linear, and unique scent, which is something to be grateful for these days. Too bad it’s discontinued. On my skin, it doesn’t have great longevity or projection, so it’s not something you need unless you’re a collector. 7/10.
An ultra-realistic grapefruit juice. The best Light Blue. No discussion.
I almost stumbled upon this by accident: the seller didn’t have my order, but they offered me a new release at a great price. The moment I tried it, it was an ultra-realistic, natural grapefruit bomb! As it dries down, it turns sweet without being cloying—super pleasant and fresh. It’s the ultimate summer scent; it gives me a huge energy boost if I wear it early in the morning and instantly changes my mood. I’d buy it again if I can find it at a good price.
