Shyamala Maisondieu
Shyamala Maisondieu, a highly prestigious perfumer, was born in Malaysia into a Malay and Indian family. Raised in a multicultural setting, she developed a unique perspective on the world that later influenced her work as a perfumer. Shyamala moved to London to complete her studies, where her passion for fragrances would eventually emerge. While living in Hong Kong, she discovered her talent for creating scents and decided to pursue a career in perfumery. Shyamala studied at the prestigious Givaudan School of Perfumery in Grasse and Argenteuil, where she met her future husband, the fellow perfumer Antoine Maisondieu.
After joining Givaudan, Shyamala Maisondieu began working with several high-level brands such as Etat Libre d'Orange, Tom Ford and Lanvin. Her notable collaborations include the creation of Idôle de Lancôme, which demonstrated her creativity and global vision in the world of fragrances. Throughout her career, Shyamala has established herself as an innovative and expert perfumer with an impressive track record spanning a variety of scents.
Shyamala’s multicultural background has played a significant role in her life and work. Growing up in Malaysia, she experienced the blending of three distinct cultures, which has informed her approach to perfumery.
