Vetiver Pamplemousse by Zara

Starts with a burst of grapefruit and tangerine that dominates the scent so strongly you wonder when a man (or maybe even a woman) would want to smell so overtly fruity. It’s fresh and sparkling, but it vanishes in the blink of an eye; after fifteen minutes, the trail is gone. Still, I love it, just not for going out. I use it for personal pleasure, especially to scent the sheets before bed. In that context, it’s perfect: relaxing and refreshing.

At first, it smells like peeling a tangerine and a grapefruit, then it leaves a scent reminiscent of a spa—clean and relaxing. I bought it on a whim, regardless of how long it lasts; for a citrus, the longevity is normal, and it lingers on clothes for quite a while. I adore it as a personal treat.

It’s a clean grapefruit scent, an excellent option for warm climates. It feels youthful and fresh.

It’s wonderful, it smells like squeezing a sweet orange peel, without being overwhelming; it’s addictive, you want to apply it and smell it. The downside is it has little projection, almost none. On my skin it lasts 6 to 8 hours. It’s a perfume for you, for your own joy and pleasure. If you’re looking for a bomb that projects, this isn’t it, but if you want something delicious, simple, and that never gets old in your collection, this is the one.

It’s pure vetiver, very fresh, but not for every palate. Suitable for variable weather.

It’s a grapefruit cologne. I consider it doesn’t have the stamp of an EDP; it’s a simple cologne. It doesn’t smell bad, but for me, it’s very indifferent. In this style, I prefer the Elizabeth Arden EDTs from the Green Tea line.

I discovered it right in the summer I started eating oranges, drawn in by the scent. I smelled it accidentally in Zara’s men’s fragrance section and bought it without thinking twice. I love wearing it in the morning after a shower on sunny days when I want to smell something simple, natural, and scream ‘orange.’ It puts me in a great mood and gives me the energy to start my day.

I’m reviewing several scents from a discovery set I bought at Zara and was eager to review this one. Of the three citrus bombs in the collection, it’s the only one I can praise enough to decide on buying. Smelling it directly from the bottle gave me pause; suddenly, the smell of unfiltered orange Fanta came to mind. But on skin, it’s a different story: it doesn’t smell like orange; I really notice the acidity of a very realistic grapefruit, well-balanced with the sweetness of a mandarin, a fresh and dry scent. I still don’t notice the EDP format; for me, it’s more of a fresh water, but I don’t need more; when I’m looking for such a citrusy scent, I want something with this softness and trail. It seems elegant, perfect for a shower after a day at the beach. Of the citrus scents from Jo Malone for Zara I’ve tried (Fleur d’oranger and Amalfi Sunray), this one definitely wins the award for good taste. I like it.

Delicious scent. An exquisite orange that persists throughout the life of the fragrance, though I must say it’s too fleeting. It’s true that close to the skin it can be perceived for about 4 or 5 hours, but with the nose right up against it. I don’t get more than two hours of decent projection, which is a pity because its smell is one of the richest and most realistic citrus scents I’ve tried. I generally use it on summer Sundays in the morning after a shower to refresh and energize myself, but it goes completely unnoticed by everyone else.

Minimalist in its purest form. As should be understood from the Emotions collection Zara presents, these are more for personal enjoyment in your own space than for the world to smell, because their projection and longevity are low. It’s a sharp opening of grapefruit that quickly dries down to reveal that slightly bitter mandarin, which is what I feel most in the dry-down, mixed with the vetiver that adds softness and creaminess. Perfect for after a shower, for heading to the grocery store, or whenever you really want, because it gives me a mood boost.

I love it! A huge hit of energy and vitality thanks to that perfectly crafted grapefruit note. It has a cheerful vibe, like Clinique HAPPY (though it doesn’t compete with it), but in my opinion, it’s much better. Smells clean and fresh, suitable for any age, and ideal for hot days. The longevity exceeds 6 hours; I’m not an expert on sillage, but with 3 sprays, I get aromatic bursts.

Its scent is that of freshly cut grapefruits. It’s impressive that they managed to capture the aroma of this fruit in a bottle so realistically. However, its performance is like a cologne: very fresh for the first few minutes, almost imperceptible in the next hour, and no trace after two. Very similar to Eau Universelle by L’Occitane. As an olfactory experience, it’s worth it, but not as a fragrance for the day.

A few days ago I ordered 4 perfumes from Zara Emotions online; the combination of Zara and Jo Malone seemed super interesting to me, and I wanted to try several. Vetiver Pamplemousse seems fantastic to me: it’s super fresh, like you’re cutting a fresh grapefruit. Out of the 4 I bought, this is the one I liked the most. Perfect for hot days.

I love it! It adds something very different to my collection. It’s a much more mature citrus scent than any other I own. It’s not that refreshing citrus cologne for you to spray happily; you have to dose it. Vetiver Pamplemousse is extra acidic and absolutely realistic, like a grapefruit cut in half on your breakfast plate. Don’t expect it to sweeten; it settles into bitterness. It’s a very well-crafted scent with notable sillage; with 4-5 sprays, you can notice it for hours. Its longevity on my skin is about 7 hours, excellent for a citrus. Since it’s linear and unique, I wouldn’t use it every day because it can get tiring, but I like it so much. I’m dying to try it on a male skin; I think it would be brutal. As a gourmand lover, I’m surprised I like this so acidic perfume, but I admit it’s not for weak-mood days; it has a lot of strength. It’s highly energizing and notes quality. Worthy member of a Jo Malone-style collection. Scent 8/10, Longevity 7/10, Sillage 8/10, Value for money 7.5/10, Versatility 7/10. Would I buy it again? Yes.
