🔎👃🏻 Is Zara Niche? 👃🏻🔍 I went in with high expectations. The opening was nice; I’d say it’s the most ‘challenging,’ the kind of scent where you first think, ‘This is niche.’ Primarily spices, saffron, maybe some pepper or nutmeg, and leather… However, on my skin, I basically discarded it because the base reminded me of Terroni or perfumes in that style I already own, so I wouldn’t use it much. But if you like those oriental, earthy, and spiced aromas, give it a shot. ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ☆ ☆

  • Bouquet de Nardos

I think this belongs in the niche category with this new Jo Malone proposal for Zara. The saffron and leather are evident. I believe those who love the Bergamot and Leather Spritz from Jo Malone for Zara will definitely be blown away by this one.

  • I bought it because it smells super different from the rest. It’s not necessarily ‘good’ in a generic sense, but it stands out for its excellent quality and aroma. It’s incredible that for this price, Zara has a perfume like this. This isn’t the first time I’ve found these gems at Zara, but since it’s so good, I didn’t want to miss the opportunity. I won’t talk about notes or longevity; just try it before buying because I guarantee it’s worth it, and a lot.

  • The only downside is the longevity. On my skin, it lasts only 2 hours and degrades very quickly, almost like an eau de cologne. Very disappointing in that regard, but as for the scent itself, it’s a 10/10. In short, extremely delicious.

  • Delicious and excellent. The opening starts with a sharp, high-quality bergamot or lemon. That lemon fades quickly, giving way to nutmeg and saffron, both rich and of great quality. The leather emerges in the dry-down, very subtle and light, nothing challenging or animalic. The dry-down is a sweet leather with that spiced nutmeg. The opening and dry-down give the impression of a niche perfume. 10/10, great job by Jo Malone.

The 10ml sample arrived and I’ve already been testing it. First off, it lasts forever—I wore it two nights in a row and it was still clinging to my skin the next day, so it passes the longevity test. It opens with saffron that smells like cinnamon to me, then shifts to a sweet, cinnamon-spiced nutmeg reminiscent of cloves, with notable sweetness in the top and heart notes. It dries down to a jacket-like leather, soft and not animalic. I’ll test the sillage more, but I absolutely love it: top-tier quality, a unique scent, and very elegant. 12/15/2022. Beautiful for lovers of leather and spices. On me, the leather shines at the end, a soft harness-leather vibe, but earlier I notice a citrus tied to tangerine with creamy spices like cinnamon, cloves, and saffron—a delight. I think it needs a bit of vanilla to balance it out. The bottle is gorgeous and offers niche quality at an accessible price for everyone.

  • To me, it resembles Shagaf Oud by Swiss Arabian, just a little less sweet but from the same line.

  • Garzafumfum

What a delight!! I bought the roll-on but the big bottle is worth it. It smells like it has oud, even though it’s not mentioned; it’s sweet and woody, I love it.

  • A good proposal for the cost, especially for men it’s attractive, seductive, and hot. It opens with a clear bergamot followed by deep nutmeg, as if accompanied by pepper, saffron, tonka bean sweetness, a well-balanced discreet leather, and a balsamic base of myrrh and wood that gives a sense of a wealthy person. I recommend it if you dare to go on the Arab adventure.

  • This fragrance is spectacular. Spiced and warm, not overpowering in my opinion. I hope they never discontinue it because it’s perfect for layering; it’s hard to find perfumes with saffron and nutmeg that aren’t mixed with heavier ingredients, and this is perfect for customizing towards citrus or floral. I’ve used it mixed with Creatively Shanghai (less Shanghai than Dubai) or with single-note Rosa Bulgaria, and I really like the results.

  • Another good fragrance from Zara. Besides the declared notes, I detect lemon/bergamot in the opening and some smoky or oud notes along with vanilla in the dry-down. Moderate longevity (about 6 hours) and good projection and sillage for the first hour; afterward, it stays very close to the skin, and movement in the air is necessary to make it noticeable. To me, it’s more masculine than feminine, but always in unisex territory. For the price, it’s an excellent option. Scent: 8.25, Projection: 6, Longevity: 6.5, Sillage: 6, Value/Price: 9.

  • I love this perfume. It’s not at all my usual style, but it’s special. I think you should have at least one like this. It reminds me a lot of my father’s scent (hence why it’s unisex). But on a woman, it seems like a very special aroma, with character, even sexy, though it appears masculine at times. I believe that’s what makes it sexy and special. It’s not a complicated scent; it smells exactly like its three notes and they fit perfectly. I imagine a dark-haired, beautiful, empowered woman in an Arab country, in the desert, in a souk… it smells like Magnificently Dubai.

  • Another great fragrance from Zara. Besides the listed notes, I detect lemon/bergamot in the dry down and smoky or oud notes along with vanilla as it settles. Moderate longevity (about 6 hours) and good projection/sillage for the first hour; afterwards, it stays very close to the skin and requires movement to be noticed. More masculine than feminine to my mind, but always in unisex territory. For the price, it’s an excellent option. Scent: 8.25, Projection: 6, Longevity: 6.5, Sillage: 6, Value: 9.

  • It smells oriental and spicy, with good longevity on the skin. It might be a bit masculine, but on a woman it also feels very sexy and elegant.

  • Magnificently Dubai is one of my favorites from the Zara x Jo Malone collection. The opening is a spice bomb: saffron, nutmeg, cinnamon, cardamom… with a citrus touch. The dry down is distinct, opulent, which might turn some people off but will dazzle others in seconds. As it settles, it becomes softer and more refined, though less unique, without losing its richness. The base is woody, with a sensation reminiscent of oud (though impossible for it to contain given the price), but it’s not dirty or animalic; instead, it’s warm, sweet, vanilla-like, with a smoky hint as if it had tonka bean. Although leather is listed, I don’t feel it’s dominant. It projects strongly for the first 2 hours and then drops to skin-level, lasting about 6-8 hours. It’s not the best performer in the line (London or New York win), but it’s good. The opening leans more masculine, but in the dry down it works equally well on anyone, so I consider it totally unisex. Ideal for cold climates, day and night. I don’t find a similarity with Oud for Greatness by Initio, and I’m not sure about the one by Juliette has a Gun. In my opinion, the price-to-quality ratio is hard to beat.

  • Great perfume from J M. The balance is fascinating, attractive, and enveloping. Ideal for mixing with Jasmin zambac to make it more feminine and sensual. It’s warm, somewhat winter-appropriate; I imagine it with high mohair collars and kid gloves to emphasize its seductive phase. Persistent with moderate sillage. A fantastic fragrance. It reminds me of Opium Poesie Chinoise, though the latter is sweeter. Re-editing, February 21, 2023: Total bomb: Dubai + Hypnotic Poison (Dior).

  • The first time I tried it, I thought it was a clone of my Arab perfumes and considered throwing it away. But when I tried it again in the store, it won me over. Magnificently Dubai is softer than most of those perfumes—a wearable version of that style. The opening is a blast of saffron with citrus, and as it dries down, it settles into a very prominent leather with spicy notes. It has moderate sillage and lasts about 8 hours on my skin. It’s the base of many Arab perfumes but without that extra sweetness they usually add on top. That’s why it’s perfect for layering to add depth; combined with Ebony Wood from Jo Malone for Zara, the result is delicious. Although it’s unisex and I love it, its lack of sweetness and the dominant leather make me lean towards thinking it’s more masculine. If it disappoints you, don’t give up; it needs time in the bottle to develop. Scent: 7.5/10, Longevity: 8/10, Sillage: 7/10, Value: 8.5/10, Versatility: 6.5/10, Packaging: 7/10. Would I buy again? Yes.

  • The first time I tried it, I wrongly thought it was similar to many of my Arabic perfumes, so I decided not to buy it. It really does have similarities, but only distant ones. When I sprayed it again in the store, it won me over. Magnificently Dubai is a softer perfume than most of my Arabic scents, a wearable version of that style. Its opening feels like a blast of saffron with a citrus accompaniment. Then, gradually in the dry-down, it settles as a fragrance with a very prominent leather note and a spiced touch. It has moderate sillage and lasts about 8 hours on my skin. To me, it’s a perfume that contains the base of many Arabic fragrances but without the extra layers of sweetness they usually carry. That’s why I think it’s perfect for layering with other fragrances, adding depth and a distinct touch. For example, combined with Ebony Wood, also by Jo Malone for Zara, it creates a delicious effect. Although it’s completely unisex and seems happy that way, perhaps its lack of sweetness combined with the dominance of the leather makes me think it leans more toward the masculine side. If you buy it and are disappointed, I’d say that, based on my experience, it’s a perfume that needs to develop in the bottle after the first spray. Scent: 7.5/10, Longevity: 8/10, Sillage: 7/10, Value/Quality: 8.5/10, Versatility: 6.5/10, Packaging: 7/10. Would I buy it again? Yes.

  • This is the closest I’ve come to smelling a niche aroma coming out of a Zara bottle. The Jo Malone collection has a step up in quality compared to the standard line, and although none of them had fully captivated me—not even the highly praised Ebony Wood—this fragrance did. It has an opulent, sparkling opening that reminds me of Coca-Cola. Then, a more resinous and sweet part emerges, leading to a warm and quite elegant development. Despite what the description says, I don’t feel the leather is the protagonist, and needless to say, it has no relation to fragrances in the Tuscan Leather family. On the other hand, the first time I used it, Opium Pour Homme immediately came to mind, but with subsequent uses, I think it’s more of a reminiscence and not an imitation of the legendary YSL fragrance. I’m usually very rigorous when acquiring any of the hundreds of Zara launches, but this one I definitely recommend.

  • Generally, Jo Malone perfumes are an exquisite choice, and this is no exception. It’s a gem, very good. Suitable for all times and places. I find it very similar to Zara Black Warm and Qaeed (Lattafa), though much softer. The notes don’t declare oud, but to me, it smells like it. It’s a purchase you won’t regret.🕉️

  • It’s a very penetrating scent; if you overapply it a bit, it can become annoying to those around you. But once it dries down, the clothes are left with so much saffron and nutmeg… it reminds me of that typical smell from Indian restaurants that gives you a tickle in your nose. I love it on both men and women, but it seems more masculine to me.

  • Wonderful! Definitely, there isn’t a single bad one in all the Jo Malone lines for Zara. Maximum value for money!

  • Fragancefran

It arrived today and it just doesn’t quite hit the mark for me. I hope I can change my mind. But the opening with so much saffron doesn’t quite appeal to me. There’s also a very strong note of overripe lemon peel that’s clearly noticeable. And no trace of nutmeg, at least I don’t notice it, while the animal leather base is noticeable but not very powerful. The perfume feels flat, with no variation, and by the first hour it’s already skin-scent. I bought it for its supposed resemblance to Opium Pour Homme. Nothing alike. They only share that both are orientals and nothing else. Anyway, a fairly weak proposal from Jo Malone.

  • Spicy, elegant, with a dry-down to leather. Very warm, ideal for cold weather. It’s not a perfume for everyday wear or to please those around you. If not, it’s for personal enjoyment if you like fragrances packed with personality. Longevity and sillage could be better, but in terms of scent quality, it’s a 10/10.

  • This is a wonderful spicy oriental. It makes me feel exotic and sexy when I wear it. It instantly transports me to some luxurious Middle Eastern country. I see people mostly wearing it in winter because it’s spicy, but I really feel like wearing it when it’s hot (obviously, I live somewhere where the heat is dry). For evening outings to dinner, for example, it seems like a total hit…

  • Pablobar21

The opening smells great, but once it dries down, it’s identical to Benetton Man Black Colors: leather and nutmeg.

Where to start… My relationship with Magnificently Dubai was love at first sight, so I won’t be too critical. It’s niche-quality fragrance in a Zara bottle. I bought the 40ml, then another one, and now the large size. It opens with an acidic citrus (not sweet), which could be bergamot or undeclared lemon. Don’t imagine Calabrian lemon on an Italian beach; picture a lemon wrapped in freshly cut suede and saffron. Over time, the suede settles, spices emerge (nutmeg and something sweeter) with the little lemon lingering in the background. Its name evokes an emirate, but believe me, it’s totally different from any Arabic perfume you’ve tried. It’s perfect from start to finish, with beastly longevity and projection. Recommended for autumn/winter nights. Jo Malone really shined with this little gem. It’s my favorite not just from the Vibrant Cities collection, but from everything Jo has done for Zara. P.S.: There is a slight difference in the latest reformulation. I have batches from 2023 and 2025, and the latter lasts a bit less.
