Descripción

Black Opium Nuit Blanche by Yves Saint Laurent is an oriental vanilla fragrance for women. Launched in 2016, this olfactive composition was created by Olivier Cresp. The top notes reveal rice, anise, and bourbon pepper; the heart unfolds coffee, orange blossom, cilantro, and peony; while the base notes complete the structure with vanilla, milk, caramel, sandalwood, and white musk.

  • A beautiful perfume with body, warm and very sweet, ideal for winter or cold days. I didn’t buy it because it barely lasts on my skin; I don’t know what’s going on with me lately, everything smells so faint to me. The pepper note here is very pleasant and less intense than in the original.

  • A cool Black Opium flanker, softer than the original. Smells like rice pudding with vanilla and a hint of coffee. A rich, decadent scent perfect for any season except summer.

  • Definitely the softest in the line, not sweet at all. It has a very predominant and fine talc accent.

  • BleuMinette

On my skin it has longevity and moderate sillage, nothing invasive. At times I think I can’t even smell it and it disappears at an atrocious speed. I wish it lasted longer; I only really notice it for 2 or 3 hours close to the skin. I don’t know why I don’t feel it much… It’s very delicious, I like it, but without good longevity it doesn’t win me over. I won’t sell or gift it because the bottle is a treasure.

I bought it without testing because it was on sale, what a mistake! I thought it would be different based on the reviews. For me, it’s very invasive and hard to stand, it reminded me of LVEB.

  • I bought it without trying it (just because it was on sale), what a mistake! I thought based on the reviews it would be something totally different. For me, it’s very invasive and hard to tolerate. It reminded me of LVEB in a certain way.

Update: I tried Forbidden Kiss next to Nuit Blanche and holy cow, they’re similar! But Forbidden has stronger sillage; Nuit is lower. This is heaven, super addictive. It has that powdery, raspy femininity and smells like skin. I’m crazy, but for me it’s feminine, sexy, coquettish, party-ready, and carefree. It’s not gourmand like Black Opium, lol.

  • Nice scent; it’s a creamy sweetness where anise is very present. It’s soft and not cloying. I use it during the day sometimes, but I prefer it at night. The sad part is that after 3-4 hours, I can’t smell it anymore.

Full year 2022 and I’m still waiting for it to return. I tried alternatives, but the combination of blackberry, orange, and that raspy edge makes it unique.

After searching like crazy and having orders cancelled, I finally tried this Black Opium version that was bothering me. The core truth is that a Black Opium will always be a Black Opium; this flanker is almost identical to its older sister. They differ in opening and consistency: it opens spicier and more vanilla-forward, with perceptible but not annoying pepper and anise. Then it turns floral and sweet, with caramel, orange blossom, and peony. It’s creamier than the original, with a strange coffee accord that reminds me of coffee before it’s actually coffee. It lasts less: about 5 hours on skin and one more on clothes. It has a strong sillage for the first hour, then fades to skin scent. Even though I’ll treasure my bottle, the hype won out. It’s neither better nor worse than the original, just sweeter and creamier, but smells identical. I’m sticking with my Zara Gardenia, which is just as good as both and easier to find.

  • After searching like crazy for this discontinued item (with two last-minute orders canceled), I finally managed to get one and try this version of Black Opium that had bothered me to no end. The core truth is that a Black Opium will always be a Black Opium. This flanker, Nuit Blanche, couldn’t be a flanker for any other perfume since it’s almost identical to its older sister. The differences lie in the opening and consistency: Nuit Blanche opens less fruity, more spiced and vanilla-forward. The pepper and anise notes are very perceptible at first, but they don’t bother. It quickly transforms into something more floral and sweet: I detect caramel, orange blossom, and peony. In terms of consistency, it’s much creamier than the original BO, but not by much. It remains a vanilla amber with a very strange coffee accord, reminiscent of coffee before it’s actually coffee. The longevity is shorter than the original: about 5 hours on skin, one more on clothes. It has strong sillage for the first hour and then stays close to the skin. Although I’m going to treasure my partial bottle, I must admit the hype won out. It doesn’t seem better or worse than the original Black Opium, just a slightly sweeter and creamier version that, otherwise, smells identical. Either way, I’m sticking with my Zara Gardenia version, which is exactly the same as both but much easier to find.

I miss this fragrance; it’s lighter than the original and perfect for warm weather without being overwhelming. That rice note gives it a special touch. I love it, just for cheerful and sweet people.

I’ve never smelled anything like this, my god, where have you been all my life? I finally got it after years of waiting. It starts similar to Black Opium but shifts radically into tonka bean, turning into a sweet cocktail like a sorbet with sugar and tea, purple in color. What I love most is that it clings to everything; even what you touch smells like it, simply magic! It’s unique, better than the original, and has a slight Christmas soap vibe. It’s not like Luna, it’s more like Forbidden Kiss, so delicious!

  • One of the best I’ve ever bought; it smells incredible and lasts forever. It’s the kind of perfume people ask for by name instantly. What a disappointment to discontinue it, especially when there are less charismatic designer scents still on the market.

  • This perfume is one of the best I’ve ever bought. It smells amazing and lasts quite a while. It’s one of those scents you spray and know people are going to ask you about. What a disappointment to discontinue it when the brand has other fragrances with less charisma.

  • I own (and love) the original version and read so many positive reviews that I bought it. First off, this flanker is very similar to the original (there’s almost no point in having both or paying extra for a discontinued version). On my skin, there’s almost no difference, though on paper or clothes, you can tell a bit more. The main difference is that this one is slightly sweeter with a softer coffee note. It has a creamier, more vanilla sensation, perhaps the orange blossom comes through more. Its performance is identical to the EDP: strong moderate projection for 1.5 hours and 5 hours of longevity on skin (something that should be better), but I like it so much that I don’t mind reapplying. I like it a bit more than the EDP; I’d give it 9.2/10 (I gave the original 9/10), but when I run out, I’ll keep buying the EDP.

I can only say: my god, it’s sooooo delicious!!!!! I got it via a swap, and it’s a steal. I thought it had chocolate at first, but I guess the vanilla and coffee blend creates that effect. It’s meant to be eaten in bites. It’s super sweet, so if you like gourmands, this is the one for you. It reminds me a bit of Hypnotic Poison in the base, with that creamy-almond touch that tones down the sweetness and gives it a more sensual vibe. Perfect for standing out on winter nights, going out to dance, or enjoying a good coffee.

I don’t know how to express the sadness that this flanker is discontinued… it’s the perfume that accompanied me through all my youth, and I keep my last bottle like it’s gold. I bought it in the first year of college at Sephora; a sales associate told me it had just launched and was on promotion, and I took it the moment I smelled it, even though I’m not usually into perfumes. Some people get annoyed when many people wear it, but that never bothered me. I think nowadays they don’t use it as much, and it never seemed as overused as La Vie Est Belle or Good Girl. Maybe I tried the original Black Opium once, but in perfumery, the longevity and sillage seemed weaker to me; I’m sure the new formulas aren’t as well-crafted as the old ones 🙁

Does anyone know where I can find it? I’ve been looking for it for a long time, even went to several Sephoras to ask. I’d really appreciate it!

  • nataliedrm

It smells like dulce de leche with coffee, very gourmand and makes you crave food, but the longevity is terrible; it doesn’t smell like anything after a short while. Plus, the scent doesn’t evolve at all. The sad part is that over time, the smell becomes tiring and even annoying.

  • Fragansol99#

I’ll always remember it with fondness; it’s a rice pudding that soaks in and embraces, warm and comforting. Ideal for young people and those with a sweet, cheerful heart.

  • I miss it; I wish they hadn’t discontinued it because it was a more relaxed, fun, and daytime version than the original BO. It’s a gorgeous gourmand, like the richest rice pudding.

  • It’s the DNA of Black Opium with a touch of caramel, milk, and rice that makes it super edible, like a coffee dessert. Delicious!

  • I loved it; it feels less sweet than the classic, probably due to the coffee note. The only downside is that it doesn’t last at all; I can’t smell it after two hours. 🙁

  • geomeun.apyeon

Still own this gem; it’s a treasure because I think YSL stopped making it. It really highlights the difference between today’s sweet and oriental fragrances—I haven’t found anything that even comes close. It has a real roasted coffee grain to it. On my skin, it lasts barely 2 hours, so I save it for special occasions. It’s my favorite of all. ♡
