I didn’t get the Black Opium DNA in this flanker. It smells like a familiar floral-vanilla blend with dark, seductive white flowers that fade into a shy, gourmand vanilla. I don’t detect the top notes or the coffee at all. The longevity and projection are very weak, more like an EDT than an EDP. I won’t be repurchasing.

What a bad flanker. Honestly, I don’t like any Black Opium; I hate the coffee note in any perfume, but what about dragon fruit with coffee? Why? The opening is super synthetic, and the rest offers no surprises. The worst part is that among YSL’s recent releases, this is the only line with decent performance for me; yet, it lasted well on my skin, what irony.

It’s like layering Nenuco and Black Opium. It lacks longevity, has poor sillage, and smells like citrus coffee, vanilla, and musk. It feels very youthful; the cashmere wood and cedar are completely gone. Simple and unremarkable for such a spectacular name.

This flanker is terrible. Honestly, I don’t like any Black Opium, especially the coffee note, but pitaya with coffee? Why? The opening is super synthetic, and the rest offers no innovation. The worst part is that among recent YSL releases, this is the only one with decent performance, yet ironically, it didn’t last well on my skin.

It smells like fruit dipped in caramel, vanilla, and coffee; it feels like bubblegum to me. I was disappointed. I expected something sweet that highlighted the coffee, vanilla, and fruit, but it wasn’t that. It lasts 8 hours, which is fine for daily wear. I see it as very youthful. Try it before buying: it’s not easy to wear and can be a huge surprise!

I honestly don’t like citrus and fruity notes, but with the sweetness, coffee, and vanilla, it strikes a pleasant balance. It feels like the youngest, most daily version of the original. It’s quite long-lasting and leaves a more vanilla scent on clothes than citrus.

This perfume reminds me a lot of the original but with its own personality. On paper, it’s very citrusy, but on my skin, the pitaya stands out. As it dries down, jasmine and especially coffee emerge, keeping a tropical tone. The scent is tropical with coffee; I don’t detect citrus or vanilla on my skin. It doesn’t smell like baby powder; it gets stronger, so I recommend it for night. In summer, it could be too heavy. It makes me think of traveling to the Caribbean, having coffee at a beach shack. It lasts 8 to 10 hours with moderate sillage.
Elcholo
It’s the classic Black Opium with lots of neroli; it’s the cutest one for me, though it smells like baby powder on my skin. It lasts a thousand hours on me.

I see a lot of negative reviews, but honestly, I really liked it. It’s a beautiful perfume. I thought it would last less, but it stays on my skin for about 5 or 6 hours and much longer on clothes. The only thing that doesn’t work for me is the fruity note, which smells like bubblegum on my skin and I just don’t like that. But I love the coffee. Anyway, try it before buying. I recommend it for cool days, not hot ones because it’s very strong and can give you headaches 😂

I see many negative reviews, but I actually liked it. It’s a beautiful perfume. I thought it would last less, but it stays on my skin for 5 or 6 hours and much longer on clothes. The only thing that doesn’t convince me is the fruity note, which smells like bubblegum, something I dislike. But I love the coffee. Try it before buying. I recommend it for cool days, not heat, because it’s very strong and can give headaches.

To me, it smells like the original with a tiny hint of a baby powder scent like Nenuco in the base. For my taste, it’s the summer version of Black Opium.

DO NOT BUY BLINDLY. Of all the flankers, this has the worst performance on me. Right out of the bottle, it smells like the original Black Opium DNA with a very synthetic fruity scent that, within 5 minutes, fades into a very faint version of the original scent before disappearing in 20 minutes, leaving only a sweet aroma like VS body cream. It loses all the wonderful qualities of the perfume. I stick with my favorite BO Green, which has the DNA plus a more potent coffee note and YSL elegance.

DO NOT BUY THIS BLIND. Out of all the flankers, this one has performed the worst on me. At first, right after spraying, you can smell the DNA of the original with a very synthetic fruity note that, after about 5 minutes, fades away leaving only a very faint version of the original scent until, finally, after 20 minutes, it disappears completely, leaving just a slight sweet aroma like body cream you could buy at VS. It loses all the wonderful qualities of this perfume. I’m sticking with my favorite Black Opium Green, which has the DNA with more potent coffee notes and YSL’s signature elegance.

I was gifted a 10ml miniature when I bought another YSL, and I absolutely loved it. It’s similar to the original but more youthful and sweet. Ideal for cold climates, though I’ve also used it on summer nights and it looks perfect.

I got a 10ml mini with my YSL purchase and absolutely love it. Smells similar to the original but with a younger, sweeter twist. Perfect for cold weather, though I’ve also worn it on summer nights and it works beautifully.

It’s very rich… a scent you don’t always find. It has a lot of similarity to the original, but it’s lighter and fresher. That doesn’t mean it’s for 35-degree weather, because it evaporates quickly and only the coffee, vanilla, and yuzu remain. I haven’t tried it in autumn or winter yet. In short, it’s less heavy and dark. It’s a younger twin. If you can try it, do it. It’s still a gem.

It’s delicious and a scent you don’t always find. Very similar to the original but lighter and fresher. Don’t use it at 35 degrees because it evaporates quickly, leaving just coffee, vanilla, and citrus. Haven’t tried it in fall or winter yet. Overall, it’s less heavy and dark—a younger twin. If you can, try it, but it’s still a gem.

Smells like tropical fruit dipped in coffee and vanilla. Didn’t think much of it in the bottle, but on my skin, it has amazing chemistry and smells truly addictive. For me, the longevity is good; it lasts 7 hours without issue. I recommend testing it on skin and letting it evolve; I was pleasantly surprised.

It smells like some tropical fruit bathed in coffee and vanilla. At first spray, it didn’t seem like much, but on my skin it creates an amazing chemistry and smells truly addictive. For me, it has great longevity; it lasts 7 hours without any issues. I recommend testing it on your skin and letting it evolve—I was pleasantly surprised.

I deleted my review out of fear of being too harsh, but after rereading it, I stand by my words. The scent is rich, cheerful, and youthful—very different from the others. By day two, it smelled only of coffee, and by day three, the pink fruit notes returned, but scientifically, it’s noticeable. On the day I received it, I took two hours to get home, and it had zero projection (I passed by many perfumes, and this one seemed like a joke). The performance is terrible, at least if it were cheaper.

I deleted my review thinking I was being harsh, but reading others, I realize I’m right. The fragrance is rich, cheerful, and youthful. Unlike others, smelling the sample on day 2, I only detected coffee, but by day 3, the pink fruit notes returned. However, scientifically speaking, the day I got the sample, I went home, waited 2 hours, and it projected nothing. After sniffing many samples, this one seemed like a joke. Terrible performance, at least if it were cheaper.

It’s sweet, reminiscent of the classic, and rich, though similar to the gourmand trend. The downside is its poor longevity and sillage. Scent: 6/10, Longevity: 5/10, Sillage: 4/10, Value: 4/10, Versatility: 7/10, Packaging: 9/10.
Taurien
At first, it smells like a lighter Black Opium with a tropical opening. Then it dries down and the coffee note becomes more prominent. It’s a pleasant scent but nothing surprising within the line. The sillage is very soft, and longevity on me is 4 hours. I don’t see why this flanker is worth it. Scent: 7/10, Longevity: 5/10, Sillage: 4/10, Value: 3/10, Versatility: 7/10, Packaging: 8/10. Would I buy again? No.

Well, simply… this seems like a joke. I got samples at the drugstore. Few perfumes I’ve heard are so insipid. It practically smells like nothing, not even fruity. It reminds me of sugared water with some impossible-to-swallow synthetic sweetener. Frankly, I think it’s a rip-off. It’s like thinking young girls (the target of the ads) are so stupid they’ll spend the euros they worked so hard to earn. It feels like a lack of respect. I love coffee and dragon fruit, but… who wants to smell the ‘supposed’ mix of these two scents if they even smell? What to smell, what they call smelling, they don’t smell.

I’m the first to give it a low rating. I wanted to buy it blindly, but thank God I didn’t. It smells like coffee and bubblegum, something very strange and synthetic. I hope others like it more than I do.

I happened to try it this morning with a friend, and frankly, I did like it. Its DNA is very similar to the original, though it’s not the ‘replica of the tomato plant’… but it’s okay. I sensed more coffee than in its predecessors and a plastic-like, vinyl touch. I think they’re running out of ideas with this Black Opium Neon. The next one might be yellow and called ‘Yellow Opium Simpson.’ Come on, how long until they release more flankers of… *free*.

It’s the Black Opium version I like the most. Of all I’ve tried, it’s the one where I smell the most coffee. On the opening, I detect that fruity combination with coffee and floral undertones. Over the hours, all the scents fade except the florals, at least on my skin. The truth is, I’m not a fan of overly sweet perfumes, but this one seems interesting, and I wear it out with my partner since he’s attracted to sweet scents. I wouldn’t recommend it for daytime or hot days because it can become overwhelming.
GeriB
My first impression was ‘wow, I love it, smells so good,’ but after 10 minutes on my skin, it smelled EXTREMELY of coffee, then developed that synthetic touch that immediately gave me a headache.
