I waited a long time because it’s not sold in Argentina; I bought the entire collection in the Discovery Set. I had too many expectations. It didn’t surprise me; it reminds me of the old Givenchy Hot Couture with certain modifications, but it didn’t seem original, and the price-quality ratio… luckily I bought the Discovery Set and didn’t spend $310 on a blind mini bottle.

  • It smells like toasted sugar with almonds, dry but sweet and creamy. Suitable for day or night, in cool weather, since it’s strong. It’s very gourmand; I want to eat it, like candied almonds; it has a dark, mysterious, sexy, and warm touch. It’s not cloying; very well done. Update: over time, I liked it less; it became drier and less captivating, until I sold it. I keep a decant; one day I mixed a few drops of Baccarat Rouge Extrait with Adolfo Dominguez Fresh Rose Water, and WOW, what a beautiful, super sexy scent. The combination is highly recommended.

I bought samples on the MFK website and was greatly disappointed. The notes fade quickly, leaving just plain almond without skin. That’s it; the jasmine peeks out shamefully and is almost undetectable. Zero trail, zero longevity; I have to smell it very close to appreciate it, and it doesn’t give me a headache. I’m glad I bought samples; I’ll finish them, but I hope the others are better. I was about to buy it blindly, but no; given the price, I’m happy I waited. They arrived quickly, half a day after ordering.

  • It’s an injustice to live in the tropics where this fragrance isn’t appreciated, a sort of Crème Brûlée in a bottle. That smell of burnt caramel with almond and vanilla is interesting, but be careful: it’s not for every occasion or skin type. If you don’t like totally sweet perfumes, this isn’t for you.

  • frambuesasfrescas

I’ve been thinking about how to describe it… I’ve tried several dupes of BCR540 EDP and Extrait, all trying to replicate candied ripe fruit or burnt sugar, with different metallic or medicinal notes and durations. However, you have to try this iconic work. It’s a true pleasure, superior to everything I’ve tried: sweeter, more concentrated, deeper, almost thick, like nectar. The trail and longevity are impressive; it lasts all day and has that enveloping quality where you think the intensity dropped, and then it suddenly reappears. My husband and I have a small bottle for both; it’s unisex and we enjoy it so much.

  • It smells so good, especially in the evening; it leaves a scent that is pure delight. At first, there’s a slight medicinal note, but in the Extrait, it fades quickly. It’s a pity that on my skin it’s so soft; I notice it, but anyone close to me doesn’t. It lasts days on clothes. It’s wonderful to wear a scarf that smells like this; such a nice sensation.

  • Sweetalmond

It has me hooked. I was looking for almond notes, and CH Good Girl left me speechless. I got interested in Baccarat Rouge and tried the Eau de Parfum, but it was a disappointment: I couldn’t smell anything, pure disillusionment. Then I saw the Extrait, ordered a sample, and was blown away. It’s a masterpiece; at first, it smells like cotton candy, then saffron and almond. The scent lasted days on my jacket; it’s a beast. A girl on the subway let the whole car smell it. With two sprays, it creates a delicious, sweet atmosphere. It’s feminine, expensive, but worth it for special occasions.

  • It’s the perfect example of how a niche perfume becomes the most vulgar scent. Don’t fool yourself: when you buy an expensive niche fragrance, you’re seeking exclusivity, differentiation, and feeling above the rest. We are vain, but we value distinct, evocative, and artistic scents, far from commercial ones. The problem is that this scent has been copied by celebrities, clothing stores, supermarkets, and imitation houses. It’s been so trivialized that it’s common. The work to discredit it by replicating it so much has made it vulgar, even if the quality is better.

  • I’m not convinced by the idea of Calvofe. There are fakes everywhere: bags, clothes, perfumes… anyone who buys this knows no clone is identical, and you should feel comfortable wearing the original. I’m not vain about liking perfumes; it’s part of my personality. I don’t need to show off that I’m wearing a €300 scent; I don’t care what people say. I’ve heard Baccarat clones on the street and can tell them apart; if someone doesn’t notice, they don’t know much about perfume. At first, I hated it and didn’t understand the hype. The second time, I loved it; it was a scent outside my usual style, much more discreet. Since I tried it, I’ve opened up to other notes. Today I own both the Eau de Parfum and the Extrait, and I confirm: there is no identical clone.

This is undoubtedly my favorite perfume in life along with its EDP sibling. Unfortunately, it’s true everything they say about it being somewhat common now. What a pity because I still haven’t been able to buy it and they’re already killing it socially. This won’t stop me from getting it someday because it’s a dream. And I know it is for a high percentage of people in the fragrance world because I doubt anyone has the money to just buy it. At the same time, I appreciate every brand that has copied it because I’m not lying when I say I’ve had at least 6-7 dupes because the price is ridiculous. The bummer is that the best dupe was discontinued 🙁 Still, I’ve learned that NO DUPE will give you the product at 100%. So if you’re going to spend the money, use it, have the beautiful bottle in your collection, and the satisfaction of knowing you own this work of art… go for it!! Finally, use what you like!! Who cares if everyone wears it. Obviously, if I’m going to pay the ridiculous price it has, I’d want a bit more exclusivity, but it’s not like that anymore and won’t be. Especially now… since they were already complaining it was a popular scent, it will be MUCH MORE NOW that Tini revealed she uses it. Everyone will be looking for dupes and it will be an even more popular fragrance. Gotta say ‘uta la weaa’ and keep going! ajajsaj

SOMETHING CRAZY HAPPENED TO ME: I BOUGHT IT ONLINE FROM TIENA IN THE USA. THE FIRST TIME I USED IT, I HATED IT, THEN I LOVED IT SO MUCH… SO MUCH. I TRAVELED TO THE UAE AND DECIDED TO TRY EVERYTHING AND BUY THE FULL VERSION OF THE PERFUME SINCE IT’S NOT AVAILABLE IN ARGENTINA, BUT I DISCOVERED THAT FOR ARAB COUNTRIES THE VERSION IS STRONGER, SMELLS MORE LIKE A DOCTOR, AND HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE AMERICAN ONE. TALKING TO THE SELLERS, THEY RECEIVED THE SAME COMMENTS I DID, THAT IT WASN’T THE PERFUME ……. I CAME TO THE CONCLUSION FROM THE COMMENTS THAT THERE ARE AT LEAST TWO VERSIONS OF THE SAME PERFUME DEPENDING ON THE COUNTRY ……. I COULDN’T BUY IT NO MATTER HOW MUCH I TRIED TO LIKE IT, THERE WAS NO WAY, IT WAS A DIFFERENT PERFUME. SO I RECOMMEND YOU CHECK WHERE THE PERFUME COMES FROM; IT’S NOT THE SAME EVERYWHERE. I KNOW THIS, I BOUGHT IT AT THE DESIGNER’S OFFICIAL STORE IN THE USA AND IT WASN’T THE SAME AS IN THE UAE, COMPLETELY DIFFERENT.

  • I loved it, it lasts a long time, and its trail is huge; whenever I wear it, people think it’s cotton candy. It’s a comforting scent; I wouldn’t categorize it as elegant or complex.

  • Kashmir88

I bought a sample; the opening feels like Burberry Her and Zara’s Red Temptation. After 15 minutes, it changed quite a bit, and I only sense that hospital, dentist, asphalt, enclosed space (warehouse), dry, bitter smell… I never get the cotton candy everyone talks about… I sense a distinct, special aroma that persists, which is probably why it became famous, for being particular and everyone wants it, but now almost everything smells like it due to the sheer number of clones (which imitate it quite well in my opinion)… I don’t see it as exclusive anymore; I’d opt for something more affordable. Still, I should give it a second chance, try it again, and wear it all night to finish rating it. But for now, it doesn’t convince me; I’m more of a floral and gourmand person.

  • Aromadicciones

I love it so much! ☯️ I think it’s the yin and yang of perfumes, a perfect balance between sweet and woody. It lasts more than 10 hours. Now Cloud Pink smells a lot like my beloved BACCARITO.

  • AlexAlvarez

I have the decant and I can’t smell it 🥲, it smells like nothing, just a plasticky scent like a brand-new doll, I think it’s the famous ‘doctor smell’. On the English Fragrantica forums there are many posts saying people can’t smell it or only smell ‘a part’. I thought the perfume was bad, but it was my sense of smell 💀. Apparently, it’s due to the formula’s molecules having a higher molecular weight, causing an olfactory blockage, and I’m one of the many who can’t perceive them 🥲. I’ll never know what it smells like, but I got the Zara dupe, it’s something. The good news is it took away my anxiety about owning it; there’s no point paying so much for a perfume I can’t smell 🥲.

  • This perfume is hard to describe; I’ve tested it on several skin types and every opinion is different… some say it’s cloying, others say they don’t notice it until a gust of air hits.

I had almost compulsive urges to try this extrait, which everyone praises, and managed to get a decant through an unexpected swap. Maybe I don’t have the nose to appreciate this elitist, reserved scent meant for a small circle of ‘qualified’ people like trendy YouTubers, but what I’m saying is that entering the niche has become prohibitively expensive, and the result isn’t always worth it. I’m a bit tired of smelling perfumes that don’t excite me, of being disappointed by acclaimed masterpieces that say nothing to me, at best being pleasant. Unlike others, I notice it clearly right from the start: it smells of bitter almond rounding out soft florals. Worth noting: it’s an extrait too subtle for something so sweet with those notes. It lacks originality and that extra something that would make it unique. The evolution isn’t surprising, though the almonds and saffron give way to a very discreet, sweet amber-woody base. It’s proof you don’t need to spend a fortune to find magic. If you’re thinking of buying the full bottle, test it with a decant first.

  • I tried it from a decant and what a relief—it smells almost identical to the Burberry Her Intense I already own (same creator). The opening is the same or very similar, but as it dries down, this BR version feels more metallic and clean, just like everyone says. By the way, I’ve worn it several times now and it feels even more distinct from the other one each time. It lasts a long time, about 24 hours on clothes, and since it smells like one of the best I’ve ever tried, it’s officially in my top 5.

  • LosPerfumesDeJavi

I decided to buy the sample pack on the Maison Francis Kurkdjian website to try the EXTRAIT version. In my opinion, it’s almost identical to the eau de parfum, just lasts infinitely longer. Story: I was in the dentist’s waiting room after applying the perfume (which felt weak on me), and a lady walked in, pinched her nose, and upon leaving, commented that she thought someone was wearing a super strong perfume. Is this one of those perfumes where the people around you perceive it more than you do? I wouldn’t want to think that, but that’s how it is. The next day, after showering, I still smelled the perfume in my hand as if freshly applied. That night, I smelled it in the room or on my clothes, I don’t know why, but it wasn’t as potent. Over time, I bought the full bottle and got bored because it became mass-produced and I could smell it at the gym, Zara clones, etc. It stopped being unique and impressive to me.

  • I had huge hype for this, unfortunately, I don’t perceive the magic everyone talks about. I’m part of the population that smells it as antiseptic, dentist cleaner, even asphalt, latex, and stagnant water from cemetery planters. The opening smells similar to Cloud but more mature; I like Cloud, not this one. The evolution is nothing I like. The longevity is incredible, but the heavy trail gave me nausea, so I showered immediately and still smelled it right against my skin. It doesn’t smell like caramel or cotton candy, just burnt resin and what I described. It’s a cheap smell for an elevated price. A side note: weeks after trying it, I didn’t want to know anything about Cloud or similar perfumes; it left a bad taste in my mouth. Shortly after, on the subway, I was squeezed next to a lady soaked in this perfume; I don’t know how I endured that moment feeling nauseous. After getting out, the perfume stayed on my clothes. I had to shower again just to stop smelling so much BR540. After this, I hate it even more.

  • To me, this perfume smells like chaotic destruction from which the Phoenix eventually rises. After buying the original, I must say there is no 100% perfect dupe; they only reach 60 or 70%. They only match in the wood and burnt caramel notes. The opening is ‘dentist-like,’ which is confusing but attractive. In the dry down, that black caramel appears like the night, along with wet resinous wood. There’s a strange citrus note, likely saffron, and a metallic hint, like the taste of blood. One spray lasted me the whole day. The dupes are super feminine, while the original is unisex, and I’d love to smell it on a man.

  • This is the only perfume that has managed to leave a scent on someone I haven’t even touched, just by sharing space at work. If you’re looking for that effect, go for it. It has a strong opening and sillage; it’s a bomb. I really like it. I had the Baccarat first, then bought the extrait. It’s not something to wear to work every day because the staff would be suffocated. Better suited for open areas where you can breathe.

  • An exceptional perfume, but not for everyone. The Baccarat Rouge 540 extrait is eternal on skin and clothes. It reminds me of my grandmother’s Youth Dew, which lasted for days. Regardless, it’s a delight. I wish it were more intimate for regular use, but it’s scandalous and impossible to ignore. You can smell the combination of almonds and amber. The big difference is that the parfum is sweeter to my taste; the extrait feels drier to me, with a slight liquor-like air. It lasts two days on skin and weeks on clothes. Two or three sprays are enough; more gives me a headache, but it smells rich and elegant. Ideal for formal events or activities where you want to be noticed, but not in very enclosed spaces. Only Cloud by Ariana Grande is similar, though Cloud has more coconut and whipped cream. Burberry Her is in a different league. It’s sad to read that many find it resinous, but claiming it smells like toothpaste is another thing. It doesn’t suit everyone, and not everyone likes it. My only complaint is that it became mass-produced with clones, and wearing it in the heat was terrible; this perfume should be worn in cold weather. But since the bottle is eternal, it’s already going out of style, and I enjoy it much in these cold days.

  • This perfume is a work of art. I thought its composition wouldn’t suit hot climates like Chile at 32 degrees, but I wore it excitedly and to my surprise, it didn’t bother anyone. It smells like almonds bathed in caramel with a citrus-woody base. It’s not for daily wear, but for special occasions. I received it as a 5ml gift when I bought my classic Baccarat Rouge 540, and I’m definitely going for the 70ml. It lasts forever—over 10 hours—with moderate to high projection. I love it, and despite the dupes, none come close.

  • Juanky1111

One of my favorite perfumes. I’ve used originals and dupes from many brands, and honestly, none of them compare or last as long as the original.

  • Definitely a perfume meant to grab attention; it’s extremely strong. It smells good, yes, but I wouldn’t wear it to the office or in enclosed spaces—it would suffocate everyone. I detect a lot of citrus and caramel.

  • Isaesparza

I went with the hype and bought it blind, big mistake 😣. At first, it smelled a bit like Mancera’s Velvet Vanilla (which I don’t love), then it literally smelled like the toothpaste I use—I get the ‘dentist smell’ association. While it does have a sweet almond note, woods, and saffron in the dry down, that toothpaste scent never goes away. I don’t find it as scandalous as others say; on my skin, it’s moderate to soft, but there are almond scents 1,000 times better. I’ll use it because of the price, but I won’t buy it again or try the BR540. If you’re thinking of buying it, DO NOT BUY IT BLIND. It smells different from Cloud or BB Her. Edit: it fixes differently on everyone; I gifted it to my sister and she loves it. It depends heavily on your skin chemistry.

  • I wore this to a formal family event; my dad sprayed Afnan at 9 PM and I went with Bad Boy EDT. My aunt only applied two sprays, and that was enough for both to evaporate completely. It’s a sweet, citrusy scent with intense power. Honestly, I don’t see it as unisex—it leans very feminine. Personally, I’m not a fan of that sweetness; it’s overwhelmingly strong and wears people out who aren’t used to heavy fragrances. It’s very similar to Zara’s For Him Red Edition if you’re looking for something more affordable.

  • As for longevity, it’s a real beast! I’m impressed by how long it lasts on the skin. I smell it very differently, definitely unique. It opens with a spiced note of clove that transforms into a delicious mix of pepper and caramel. It’s sweet and feminine, although some might see it as unisex; for me, it’s not. It stands out for its singularity and presence.

  • This is the perfume of a lifetime, honestly. I discovered it two years ago and wanted to try it out of curiosity. Once I tried it, I was speechless. Everyone should own it, whether original or dupe. It’s versatile: works for day or night, formal events or running errands, work or study.

  • If I could choose one scent for my skin without wearing perfume, it would be this. I’d love to smell like this every second of my life. At first, I notice the precious almond note, then it turns creamy, resinous, and sweet. The saffron in the Extrait version is delicate, nothing like the strong stuff in cheap clones. What a wonderful perfume. I’ve been in the perfume and niche world for years, and although I arrived late to this, I now adore it and say so with pride.

  • Woman in Love

Perfection. It reveals itself differently for everyone. To me, it smells like almond and burnt sugar. Very beautiful, deeply seductive. After trying it once, it’s hard to give it up. It’s long-lasting with a great sillage… a masterpiece.

  • I fell in love with this fragrance the day I encountered it in Paris at Les Galeries Lafayette. It took me to another level, offering exquisite olfactory pleasure. You don’t need to analyze or rationalize it; opinions vary, which breaks the magic. Simply feel it and let yourself be inspired by what it evokes.

  • Baccarat Rouge 540 Extrait: Kurkdjian delivers bottled luxury and elegance. The intense red bottle with gold plaque is a work of art. It smells sweet, like cherry with a potent saffron touch. As it dries down, it becomes a delightful floral, amber, and woody scent, reminiscent of burnt cotton candy with jasmine. It lasts over 10 hours on skin. It’s an aroma that goes from hate to love, but it has incredible charm. Only the price seems excessive to me. I would definitely buy it again; it’s fascinating and very unisex. Ideal for formal occasions, weddings, or fancy dates. Worth it if you like it. Rating: 9.5/10. The downsides: the price and the fact that not everyone will like it.

  • Grey50shades

The scent captivates you, lingers on the skin, and leaves an incredibly rich, sweet trail without being cloying. Since I first smelled it, I’ve been enchanted. Yes, it’s expensive, but it’s totally worth it.

  • AdrianitaVera

Pure luxury. An indescribable yet unmatched scent that makes you feel powerful the moment you apply it. It projects beautifully and lasts over 12 hours on the skin.
