The 15 edition is less fruity and more milky than the previous one; in the mid-phase, it reminded me of horchata, haha. The trail is good, but the longevity is short compared to the 14 Eau Sucré. Since I’m not a huge fan of fruity scents, I admit this 15 version is much better than the 14 because they toned down that note to give the spotlight to the meringue with a sparkling touch that I believe is the sorbet.
This 2015 version is less fruity and more milky than the previous one; the mid-stage reminded me of horchata. The trail is nice, but the longevity is scarce compared to the 2014 Eau Sucrée. Since I’m not a huge fan of fruity scents, I’d say this 2015 is better than the 2014 because they toned down the fruit notes, giving more prominence to the meringue with a sparkling touch that I believe is sorbet.
Truly sugary, sparkling, even spicy. Extremely sweet, but not your typical sweet—it’s ‘spicy sweet.’ Lasts a very long time on dry skin, days.
Really sugary, sparkling, even spicy. Extremely sweet, but not a sweet in the usual sense; as I said, it’s ‘spicy sweet’. Very long-lasting dry down (days).
This flanker is a gorgeous gourmand with the Angel DNA, which gives it something special. Definitely a ‘spoiled little girl’ version by the Angel daddy: a delicious bomb of red berry meringue where berries and blueberry (very perceptible) take the lead. It’s a heavy and persistent scent, lasting over 12 hours. A beautiful gourmand: overall, it smells like a fine red berry cake, like a fancy fruitcake (which gives it a festive vibe). Gradually, the separate elements of meringue and caramel emerge, along with some bitter chocolate notes. You can detect a heavy plum liqueur, more akin to an extraordinary Jerez wine (like Pedro Ximénez), heavy and extremely sweet but mind-blowing. The lingering base notes are like white chocolate cookies with a very present pink pepper. It’s a very festive, winter scent, nothing ‘Eau’ about it, incredibly beautiful, like walking into a fine dessert bakery. Definitely for young adults aged 25 to 35 with character but without ceremonial formality. It invites fun in a good chat with someone who embodies the essence of what Angel says in its flankers.
This flanker is a gorgeous gourmand with Angel’s DNA, like a naughty girl version raised by Daddy Angel. It’s a bomb of meringue with prominent red fruits—the berries and blueberries are very noticeable. It’s heavy and persistent, lasting over 12 hours. Smells like a great red fruit cake, a fine festive fruitcake. Gradually, the meringue, caramel, bitter chocolate, and plum liqueur (Pedro Ximénez style) emerge—rich, extremely sweet, but mind-blowing. The dry down features white chocolate cookies with pink pepper. It’s an aromatic winter scent, nothing like an ‘Eau,’ incredibly beautiful, like stepping into a fancy bakery. Perfect for 25-35 year olds with character, unpretentious, who invite fun and good conversation.
I own both Angel Sucre 2015 and Angel Fruity Fair—I love them both! Though I lean toward Sucre; it’s a bit sweeter, fresh, with just the right acidic fruity note. It’s sparkling, cheerful, youthful, and delicious. You want to smell it all the time! Lasts about 6 hours on skin and days on clothes. Despite not being warm or creamy, it has such a different, rich scent that it feels sensual without being overwhelming. Pleasant and never bothers anyone.
So sweet, so caramelized and fruity it feels like a delicious piece of cake. You can’t tell whether to wear it or eat it. Like almost all of Mugler’s Angel scents, I absolutely loved it.
It was my first Mugler perfume; I bought it blind. At first, I didn’t like it. It didn’t offend me from the bottle, but on my skin, it smelled like vomit. I tried it on my sister, and it smelled delicious on her, so I forced myself to wear it until I got hooked. Now I love it: it’s unique, that sweet patchouli blend. It adapted to my pH, smelling like freshly baked pastries and macarons.
Now that the cold has arrived, I’m enjoying the last sprays of a shooting star: Sucree. After Croisière, it’s the best flanker from Angel. A wonderful, playful juice with the acidity of red fruits contrasting against meringue and caramel, plus an unmatched dry down that’s powdery and mentholated. What about the bottle? A fantasy in cobalt with sugar inlays. If you’re a fan of gourmands with a zesty twist, don’t miss this.
Without a doubt, the opening is red fruits. What caught me by surprise is that after 10 minutes it shifts into a slightly burnt caramel/vanilla/hazelnut accord that’s absolutely delicious. It’s linear, lasts 6 to 7 hours on skin, and the trail fades after an hour. I loved the dry down; it smells like burnt vanilla, like a fireplace. It’s 30 degrees here, so I think it works better in winter, though I’ll keep wearing it.
No doubt, the opening is red fruits… what surprised me was what remained after 10 minutes: it completely shifts to a slightly burnt caramel/vanilla/hazelnut, but very tasty… And it’s also linear. Its longevity is 6 or 7 hours on my skin, and the trail (after an hour) is already quite low. I’m pleasantly surprised by its dry down; I loved the skin scent… a burnt vanilla that I personally find reminiscent of a fireplace. In my country, it’s summer with 30 degrees, so I feel it will perform better in winter. Although I’ll keep using it a couple of times this season.
I just tested it this afternoon on dry skin and on my skin, and I’m surprised by the reviews; to me, it smells like pure anise, nothing else. Seems odd. Does anyone else experience this?
Isabel, maybe you tried the 16 version which is different. It’s fruity and sweet. Beautiful. Beautiful for summer, wearable. What I feel most are the red fruits with cream. The patchouli in the base. Precious. Pity it doesn’t last long.
Isabel, try the 2016 edition, it’s a whole different story: fruity, super sweet, and gorgeous. Perfect for summer, I’d wear it. What I notice most are the red fruits with a cream base and patchouli in the background. Too bad it doesn’t last long.
