I fell in love with the EDP and searched for a softer EDT for work; my sense of smell is sensitive, and the EDP gives me headaches in enclosed spaces even with just one drop. The EDT smells different at first: jasmine and cedarwood give way to something sweet and citrusy. After 5 minutes, the jasmine returns, and by an hour it’s dominating. Sometimes I notice a fleeting touch of grape caramel. At 4 hours, the wood and amber notes emerge, and I can still smell them the next day. The sillage is strong in the opening and heart, but less than the EDP. I have to spray it on my chest and wear a wool sweater to keep it discreet. I finished my pre-reformulation bottle, which was my first perfume; I enjoyed it so much. It’s super feminine and versatile: great for shopping in winter or a wedding in summer if used sparingly. The EDP is more sexual; this EDT is like our Alien, in heels and red lips, hanging out with girls at night, makeup-free, laughing and drinking wine, but she’s still an attractive alien. Pleasant: 9/10 Interesting: 6/10 Versatile: 9/10 Original: 5/10

I’ve had this Alien EDT for years, mostly only in winter, but this time I really tried it in summer. I wore it from afternoon to night at 30 degrees Celsius at an outdoor concert and it worked wonderfully. It leaves a sillage that lasts without being heavy, with excellent longevity. The notes are incredible: it’s not citrusy, but a fresh, clean amber-floral, very different from what I expected. Perfect for summer nights, for sure its best season.

Alien Eau de Toilette is from 2009 and starts with a citrus bomb, mostly tangerine, super summery, fruity, and cheerful that gives you energy. Over time, the jasmine arrives, but much softer than in the EDP, maybe with gardenia. As it dries down, the woods come out with that sweet, elegant touch of ambergris. I liked it, although the EDP remains my favorite because this one is ideal for heat: fresher and with moderate sillage. I love the bottle; it beats the EDP there. Happy with my 4 new Aliens, lol.

It’s a rich and simple fragrance that doesn’t go wrong, but the bad thing is that, at least for me, it doesn’t last at all. 🥺

In summary: a softer, muskier version of Alien, with subtle citrus and bitter notes, and less sweet. I got it thinking it would be a lighter option for spring-summer, and I think it will be great in that season. I agree with the previous review that it doesn’t last long (I have other Mugler EDTs that last better). If you like Alien, this fragrance can complement your aromatic needs; I recommend having both.

I sniffed it on blotter and was obsessed, but once I sprayed it, it vanished in an hour even though I sprayed six shots. The longevity and trail leave me cold, so I almost don’t use it. I tried hydrating my skin and nothing, it still flies away. I don’t know whether to finish it or gift it, because although I like the scent, it’s useless for me.

It’s an out-of-this-world fragrance: very potent and lasts all day. I don’t feel any citrus like others say, but a strong chocolate with a fresh yet powdery touch that after a while gives me a headache. Although I’m not sensitive, the base smells like an older person. I don’t recommend it for young people; if you use it, do it at night or in the cold so as not to bother. Mugler perfumes are unique, but don’t buy it blindly because you might love or hate it.

Is it really an EDT? Its longevity and trail are brutal; I haven’t even tried the EDP because this EDT already feels a bit heavy to me. It’s a special aroma, powdery and floral. The opening is weird and gave me a headache, but after 30 minutes it changes and I like it. I don’t know if I’d buy it again; some days I want another Alien and other days I don’t feel a connection. I wear it more at night or in open spaces. Don’t buy it blindly; I use it today and I love it lol.

I’ve been a fan of Angel since the 90s; I always thought if I liked Angel, I wouldn’t like Alien, so I let it pass and didn’t even look at it. Plus, that violet bottle intimidated me. Huge mistake! Lately I’ve tried it and it’s gorgeous. It’s a garden full of jasmine and white flowers, a delight for the senses… it brought me a Mediterranean summer night where the freshness makes the floral aromas emanate. Subtle but with a perfect trail, I won’t resist buying a small bottle of this gem.

Dear @lilacmoonlight, it’s very strange what’s happening to you. This Mugler Alien EDT is one of the 5 fragrances I appreciate most on a woman’s skin (along with Chanel Chance EDP, Coco Mademoiselle EDP, Coco Noir, and Dior Pure Poison; we could add some from Hermès). Its floral notes are very distinct; the jasmine is more intense than in other fragrances containing it, just like the white flowers, but together they form an interesting and pleasant aromatic cluster. I don’t know why it has that performance on your skin, whether it’s chemistry, reformulation, or adulterated packaging. I recommend applying it on blotting paper and testing it occasionally. It would be interesting to know the batch and manufacturing date. I tried one from 2018 and loved it, it exudes quality. I hope you can enjoy it because the cost is high. Affectionate regards.

Hi @lilacmoonlight, what’s happening to you is strange. This Mugler Alien EDT is one of my five favorite fragrances on women’s skin (along with Chanel Chance Eau Tendre EDP, Coco Mademoiselle EDP, Coco Noir, and Dior Pure Poison; we could add some Hermès ones). Its floral notes are crisp; the jasmine is more intense than in other fragrances, and the white flowers too, but together they form an interesting and pleasant ensemble. I don’t know why it has that performance on your skin, whether it’s chemistry, reformulation, or a fake bottle. I recommend testing it on blotter paper and checking it from time to time. It would be good to know the batch and date; I tried one from 2018 and I loved it, it exudes quality. I hope you can enjoy it, because it’s expensive. Warm regards.

I had Alien at maximum expectations because everyone praises it and I could barely find any criticism, so I bought it blindly and it was a brutal disappointment. I don’t know if it’s my skin, the EDT, or my nose, but on me it smells like pure talcum powder—the most powdery essence that exists. It suffocates me and I couldn’t stand it. Every time I’ve worn it, even my surroundings couldn’t tolerate it. What a pity.
Lorepazhe
It’s a gem. A bit softer than the EDP but with the same hook. I feel it’s much more wearable and less boring than the intense version. It has decent longevity for an EDT. I give it a 10.

It was a gift. I wanted the EDP for the powdery base that a friend loved, but by mistake they gave me this. And for the better, because even the EDT turned out to be unbearable for me. I started with excitement but it quickly became super cloying. I’m halfway through and I don’t know if I’ll finish it. I think Mugler just doesn’t suit me. They are long-lasting and project well, but they are so heavy they give me headaches. I wouldn’t buy them again.

This perfume was a gift. Originally, I wanted the EDP; it was a friend’s scent and I loved that powdery base, but by mistake, they gave me this one. And luckily, because even the EDT turned out unbearable for me. I started with enthusiasm, but soon it became super cloying. I’m halfway through and don’t know if I’ll finish it. I think I’m one of the people who just don’t work with Mugler. They are long-lasting and leave a lot of sillage, but they are so heavy that in my case, it ends up giving me a headache. Definitely, I wouldn’t buy them again.

Wow!!! I bought it because the EDP seemed too intense for me; I’m sensitive and strong scents give me migraines, so I look for subtle aromas. This seems ideal because when dosed properly, it works great for day and night. It smells like a beautiful garden of white flowers, and although I don’t usually like florals in perfumery, here I absolutely love them. Finding a perfume where flowers dominate and that I like is a real event. It’s a definite keeper in my collection for a long time.

Does anyone know if the change in signature from Thierry Mugler to MUGLER has altered the composition or longevity of the perfume?

I just got this perfume… what a surprise life gives us! Since perfumes are part of my daily life, I couldn’t feel better. The EDT is for any moment, any weather, any time… it’s for finishing the bottle with good use, without doubting if you smell good or not. Fresh jasmine and woods, that’s what sticks with me the most. 100% recommended.
misha17
I prefer the EDP, although they are very similar, the EDT notes the citrus more and personally I don’t like them much. The good thing is that the florals dominate more, so I wouldn’t classify it as a citrus. A plus is that it’s much more versatile than the EDP; this one is for day, night, and all year round, while the EDP is more for cold weather and night. Its trail is important and the longevity is good too.

I’ve had this ‘violet creature’ for years in its EDP Intense version, a strong floral, extremely long-lasting, and slightly toxic right after the top notes, where you can perceive an antiseptic note that fades until the dominant jasmine. Today it arrives in EDT and to my surprise, it’s a more adaptable version, keeping the same accords but drastically lowering the alcohol concentration until it becomes a soft and delicious cologne. They are so different that they function as different perfumes, although they relate almost entirely, there is no doubt it’s an Alien. It’s a warm and loving fragrance, not arrogant or cloying, not distant or strange; it doesn’t create an atmosphere of an unprecedented landscape like the EDP, but rather a ‘humanized’ one to enjoy in any season. A friendly alien to share experiences of other worlds with…

Alien Eau de Toilette is the perfect manifestation of what a lighter version should be: it keeps the essence of the original and minimizes the power without fading the body, maintaining enough similarities to be a solid derivative. The scent is more citrusy and wearable, less scandalous and more carefree, key conveniences since Mugler fragrances usually evoke powerful, overwhelming divas. Thierry Mugler, as mentioned in Angel reviews, is technically a dead brand in the fashion industry (floating thanks to the lucrative flow of its perfumes, which maintain enviable sales). Alien in EDT format presents an almost anti-atmospheric vision of the house’s femininity, which used to represent women in alien creature suits or insectoid monsters, as if Lady Gaga existed in the 90s. In my opinion, that vision caused commercial decline by distancing itself from the real human woman. Alien EDT is sober, comforting, moderately classic, and extremely versatile, pleasing many people. I criticize its departure from the house’s theories, though I appreciate its structural closeness to the precursor and its pleasant creamy white flower aroma with fresh citrus, finishing in starchy, ambered woods. As an EDT, its longevity and sillage are quite stable and noticeable (unlike the ghostly Angel in EDT). It’s a breath of fresh air after a torrent of ambivalent creations. Recommended.

I’m here to reaffirm, add to, and correct what was said before. It’s very different to try a perfume a few times versus having it physically, as now, thanks to the administrators who rewarded me with this fragrance months ago, leaving me in debt for a review. Many thanks to everyone. If anyone hates or can’t assimilate the strong signature of Thierry Mugler and promised to stay away, I hope they break that promise with this fragrance, because unlike its siblings, Alien EDT pleases without forcing. It comes out innate and natural. I was wrong to classify it only for day, spring, and summer; clearly it has more to offer in autumn, winter, night, and every occasion. It’s an all-terrain vehicle that easily becomes a personal signature: friendly and cheerful. It can be addictive. Its composition seems simple but it’s a delight: jasmine and citrus with an ambered and woody base. It puts you in a good mood and attracts compliments. Natural and inevitable beauty. It has become one of my favorites. From now on, it will always be in my closet. Totally recommended, you won’t regret it, clear your head of everything said about Mugler, because this is a breath of fresh air. 9.5/10.

Obsessed with Mugler lately, I decided to try Alien EDT after falling in love with the EDP. It’s similar but more citrusy, light, and floral; it stands out for its citrus notes, white flowers, and a touch of wood. I see it as a great alternative for spring or summer, perfect for hot days or when you want to feel energetic. The EDP is more of a winter scent, so this is perfect for a more relaxed moment but just as rich. On my skin, it lasts about 3.5 hours with almost no sillage. Maybe it needs heat to shine better, since it’s cold right now. I like it, but for now, the EDP fascinates me more. Maybe in warmer weather we’ll get along better, who knows.

Alien EDT is a wonder, hard to explain but… very soft and subtle. At first, I smell flowers; I didn’t notice the citrus notes they mention, then comes that magical combination of jasmine and woods that has me head over heels. A beautiful woody jasmine, something unique and charming that I can’t stop smelling. It fascinated me from the very first moment. I think it works all year round; now that it’s not cold, it seemed great to me, and I’m sure I’ll use it in winter too with pleasure. Perfect for me, Alien is adorable.

Dear Alien EDT: after searching for you so much, I finally have you in my hands. You are everything I expected and even more. You resemble your cousin the EDP, but you suit me better. I especially adore your top notes; sometimes I feel like drinking the bottle, but I control myself because I’m not crazy. Or well, I’m talking to a perfume, so who knows. I love you. Sincerely, Anabel.
