Descripción

Mugler Angel Eau de Toilette is an oriental vanilla fragrance for women. Launched in 2011, this olfactory composition was created by Amandine Clerc-Marie. The top notes combine pink pepper and bergamot; the heart reveals red berries and praline; while the base notes settle on patchouli, vanilla, Virginia cedar, and musk.

I bought it because a cousin smelled delicious on it: a rare, sugary, floral, distinguished scent, different from everything else. When I got it, on my skin it smelled like overripe fruit—a bad purchase.

  • lovelyheadache

Love at first sniff. The first spray smelled like Calorub (in Chile), very mentholated, but soon it settled into something delightful. As they say, you either love it or hate it; it’s pricey, but for me, it’s worth it. Every time I wear it, even the guy who valets my car comments on the amazing scent.

  • I really like it. Perfect for summer, sweet but with a menthol kick. Worth trying on your skin and letting it settle; the longevity is fantastic, and it feels more like a full perfume than an EDT. I always recommend using the full line—the shower gel and body cream—because other soaps ruin the scent. I’m a total fan of Thierry Mugler perfumes (almost all of them, except Womanity).

  • I own this fragrance; it’s a more relaxed version of the original. It feels less heavy, smelling of citrus and woods mixed with those candied notes, like a softer version of Angel. It has interesting masculine touches but remains undeniably feminine.

  • The original Angel is more potent and leaves a stronger trail, but this EDT is much more pleasant and light, with a sweet and feminine touch, especially at the start. I think it has a soft floral nuance alongside that candied patchouli, making it charming and sexy in a different way. If the original is a curvaceous woman with full makeup and perfect grooming, this is her without the push-up bra, in a simple silk dress with delicate sparkles. It’s a matter of taste, but it smells very similar despite the different notes, just kinder to most. As Renielt said, it’s a more relaxed version, less heavy, with citrus and woods mixed with the candied notes, like a soft Angel water. If you like it but find it too intense or cloying, this EDT will work better for you, especially during the day.

  • The original is more intense with better longevity and sillage, but this EDT is more pleasant and wearable. It’s subtly sweet and feminine, especially at first. I detect a soft floral touch alongside that sweet, cloying ‘praline’ vibe that makes it charming and sexy in its own way. If Angel is a curvy, dazzling woman in push-ups and sequins, the EDT is her without the push-ups, wearing soft makeup and a fitted silk dress. It’s a matter of taste: it smells very similar to the original (though the notes seem different), but it’s much kinder and lighter. As Renielt said, it’s a more relaxed version, less heavy, with citrus and woods blended with the candied notes. If you like the original but find it too cloying or hard to wear, this EDT will work better for you, ideal for daytime.

  • I read so many reviews about the EDT and EDP that I couldn’t resist trying them. The EDP was too much for me; a sample in my car lasted three days and was an absolute bomb. I liked it, but it was excessive. With the EDT, two sprays are more than enough. It’s intense and overwhelming for the office, but safe: one blast is all you need. It settles beautifully, feeling sophisticated, mature, and feminine.

  • Absolutely stunning! It smells elegant, mysterious, and rebellious on me, and it’s 100% unisex. It starts with citrus notes, then the praline and vanilla kick in, finishing with delicious patchouli and cedar. It’s unique and one of my favorites.

Angel EDT is a whole different world compared to the EDP; to my nose, they are two distinct fragrances (aside from that classic Mugler patchouli). If you’re looking for a laid-back version of the impetuous original that changed the industry, it delivers on its promise, though understanding it takes some imagination. It’s like the EDP had an exorcism: now it has a marked, logical progression. Pink pepper is intriguing in a fruity and candy fragrance; at first, it’s restrained, but then it gives way to red berries, landing us on those interstellar candies atop a bed of satanic patchouli. To me, it smells like a gourmand chypre, not an oriental-vanilla. The potency is reduced to a millimeter; it’s the most vaporized and diffused Mugler fragrance, with medium sillage and short longevity. The conceptual premises remain the same: it’s still that fragrance that smells different on everyone. If the original felt too intense for you, this EDT might appeal; if you disliked the scent, I doubt this will change your mind, as overall it’s very similar.

The Angel in Eau de Toilette is a completely different perfume from the Eau de Parfum, except for that classic Mugler patchouli. If you’re looking for a relaxed version of the original—the arrogant one that changed the rules—it delivers on its promise, though the scent is hard to define. It’s like the Eau de Parfum went through an exorcism: now it has a clear, understandable development. The pink pepper is intriguing, but I’m not sure what role it plays in a fruit and candy fragrance. At first, red berries take control, but then the candies arrive over that intense patchouli. To my nose, it smells more like a gourmand chypre than an oriental. The potency is greatly reduced; it’s Mugler’s most vaporous version, with moderate sillage and short longevity, barely beating light fragrances like Neroli Portofino. The concept remains the same: it will either please everyone or no one. If the original’s intensity bothers you, this version might be your cup of tea; if you don’t like the smell, you probably won’t like this one either, as it’s globally very similar.

  • VainillaDulce

The Angel in Eau de Toilette is the calm, tamed sister of the more intense version. I actually prefer this one: the patchouli is sweet and herbal, not earthy; the chocolate is creamy, and the vanilla is very natural. A luxurious, sweet vanilla dominates, like delicious milk chocolate. It’s still potent, so you need to dose it carefully. While the Eau de Parfum is irreverent and bold, this one is sweet, coquettish, sensual, and elegant. Perfect for night, formal events, or winter.

  • VainillaDulce

Angel in its eau de toilette version is like the tamed and serene sister of Angel in its eau de parfum version. I like this version much more; the patchouli is sweeter and herbal rather than earthy, the chocolate is creamy, and the vanilla is very natural. In Angel eau de toilette, the very sumptuous, creamy, sweet vanilla predominates; wow, this perfume is like a delicious creamy vanilla chocolate. Its sillage and longevity remain very potent; dosing is necessary. While Angel EDP is irreverent, overwhelming, intense, and bold; Angel EDT is sweet, coquettish, sensual, and elegant. Suitable for formal, nighttime, and cold season use.

  • marisol santilla

Angel EDP is overwhelming; they’d say in Cuba ‘¡candela!’ (fire!). I’m not saying it’s bad, but definitely not everyone can use it. Now, its transformation is good, but you tolerate it after about 20-30 minutes of application. This Angel EDT is more wearable; it has its ‘candela’ but it’s tamed, as someone already said. There are tastes and tastes, but if you decide on Angel EDP, put a pinch of perfume on, haha, with that you’ll last 24 hours.

Angel EDT and I had a lovely love story, but we didn’t see each other often, so our relationship wasn’t worth it. Someone else is enjoying its love now, and I’ve found a new lover. Angel EDT is sweeter and lighter on my skin, much more head-friendly; it doesn’t suffocate or cloy. The patchouli feels fresher and earthier, but never potent. The berries prevent it from becoming too sweet and keep it friendly. Although I set aside my strong perfumes with lots of patchouli, I want this beauty in my collection. I don’t know when I’ll miss the kisses of Angel EDP and fall into the arms of my new love.

I was so curious to try this EDT and feared it would give me a headache with Mugler’s intensity. The opening is citrusy but lasts only seconds, then comes the patchouli with cedar; this phase seems very masculine. After the first hour, in the dry-down, it transforms into something totally different, very feminine, slightly sweet, and a bit talcum-like, yes, it smells like perfumed talc. A non-linear fragrance, very interesting, somewhat intense but wearable, perfectly unisex. And what about the bottle? I think it’s one of the most beautiful; just for that, it makes you want to buy it.

  • If Sleeping Beauty, the Disney princess, wore a perfume, I imagine it would be this fragrance. It’s sweet, powdery, warm, and romantic. It has an aura of sophistication and boldness. Many compare it to her sister Angel EDP, but I don’t see the resemblance, perhaps due to the candied patchouli note, but in the EDT version it’s greener with forest hints. It smells wonderful, with a spicy opening and ripe red fruits. The fruits the princess collects in the enchanted forest, leaving a trail of ancient trees, ivy, dew, and vegetation, plus a scent of chocolate cake the fairies prepare for her. And at the end, when the fairies squabble over the pink or blue dress, that trail of colors and magic is the scent of Angel EDT. Feminine, romantic, and with doses of fantasy and wonder.

  • If Sleeping Beauty had a perfume, it would surely be this one. It’s sweet, powdery, warm, and romantic, with an aura of sophistication and nonchalance. Many compare it to her sister Angel EDP, but I don’t see the resemblance, perhaps due to the candied patchouli; in the EDT version, it’s greener, with forest hints. It smells great, with a spicy opening and ripe red fruits. Imagine the fruits she picks while strolling through the enchanted forest, leaving a trail of ancient trees with ivy, dew, and vegetation, along with the scent of a chocolate cake the fairies prepare for her return. At the end, when Flora and Spring argue over the dress color, that trail of colorful magic is the scent of this Angel EDT. It’s feminine, romantic, and full of fantasy and wonder. This is how I see this fragrance.

  • I love it and adore its scent, but on my skin it lasted a breath and its sillage is very low. It only lasts and projects decently for about 2 hours, which is a joke considering the price and the BRAND. I feel very disappointed because this turned out to be so weak, and the EDP version feels too strong. I can’t find or know of another version that hits the middle ground.

  • Smells very good, a bit less ‘aggressive’ than its older sister (EDP), but it’s still very ‘potent’. On my nose, it feels very similar, just slightly less intense. Angel is a perfume you either love or hate; there’s no middle ground. It lasts a long time and has huge sillage, so better not to overdo it… and in my case, whether I wear it depends on my mood 😉

  • It’s an all-terrain EDT; I’d say it has the same fixation as the EDP. It’s very strong and potent, filling my room without even wearing it. It’s not discreet at all, lasting hours and hours. I can’t pinpoint every ingredient, but it’s very sweet due to that praline with vanilla, and I assume the violent patchouli makes the opening so explosive. I use it moderately because it’s invasive; I don’t understand reviews comparing it to a cologne. It’s strictly for night and outings, with massive sillage and it can give headaches. The bottle is beautiful, quite different from the collection. If you like Angel, this is the flanker you must have.

  • It’s an all-rounder EDT, with fixation comparable to the EDP. It’s very strong and potent; it filled my room without even being worn. It’s not discreet at all, lasts for hours and hours. I don’t recognize every ingredient, but it’s very sweet due to the praline and vanilla; I guess the aggressive patchouli makes the opening so explosive. I use it moderately because it’s invasive; I don’t get the reviews comparing it to a cologne. It’s strictly for night and outings, with a massive trail that can cause headaches. The bottle is beautiful, quite different from the rest of the collection. If you like Angel, this is the flanker you must own.

  • Pachouli, praline, vanilla, and cedar—a scent bomb where the bergamot barely lasts a few minutes. Huge sillage and top-tier longevity; it’s a sexy, spicy, and sweet EDT, just how I like it. You can definitely smell it, it makes a presence, and it’s ideal for cool weather and nighttime. No doubt I’ll buy it again; it’s a delight that awakens the senses and makes me dream.

  • I tried it today and I totally identify with weraevaelena’s review: it’s perfectly unisex with its unmistakable patchouli signature, which isn’t for everyone. Still, I’ve always believed these fragrances need time to develop and you shouldn’t judge them solely by their opening; with time, it becomes wonderful.

  • It lives up to its name, it’s an angelic fragrance, not intense, and I love it. It helps me relax a lot. It’s a 10 for me.

  • magia olfativa

I feel lucky to have snagged this edition of Angel; it’s super versatile for different occasions as long as it’s not hot. Smells amazing, lasts long, and has great sillage. It’s sweet but not like flan, which I absolutely can’t stand. On my skin, the praline (with a hint of almond), floral notes, and a woody touch come out strongly. Cozy and sexy, nothing more.

  • It was a gift from my mother and is my ideal perfume for winter and nights. It leaves an incredible trail, highly praised. It’s strong, sweet, but magical and angelic.

  • I’ve been experimenting with this cologne for a couple of years; it’s more of a perfume than an EDT. It has a unique, exquisitely well-blended scent: red berries and patchouli dancing to the rhythm of musk and praline. It smells like a party, joy, an elegant special event—those rare occasions to shine with sober elegance. It’s opulent without crossing the line, mysteriously attractive, and stands strong. Like a comet opening the chakras of those around you, connecting with the pure essence of our being. I ran out of groceries, came home shivering, and found the store empty. I heard employees saying the scent was exquisite and asking if I’d lit incense. I couldn’t help but smile and tell them it was me wearing Angel, a globally famous but rare fragrance in my country, Uruguay. They praised my taste, and we chatted about scents. So I write about this beloved comet I guard like gold; I’m the last buyer in the city, and even the tester gave it to me with the last refills. An excellent perfume; I hope they reformulate it with this blend someday. A scent to remember, to bring people together and make them smile. Just a scent. 9.9 Longevity, 8.5 Sillage, 9 Trail, 9.9 Compliments. Depending on the moment, it sparks positive comments and transmutates the room’s energy.

  • I’ve been testing this body water for a couple of years, which is more of a perfume than an EDT. It has a unique and exquisitely blended aroma: red berries and patchouli dancing with musk and praline. It smells like a party, joy, and elegant special events, with that opulent yet restrained vibe, mysteriously attractive. It’s the comet of Thierry Mugler that opens your luminous trail and connects with the purest part of your essence. I’m writing this two years late because I ran out of the supermarket in the cold, and when I arrived at the empty store, I heard employees commenting on how exquisite the incense smelled. I couldn’t help but smile and tell them it was me, and they congratulated me on my good taste. That’s how I got the last tester in my city, Uruguay. It’s an excellent perfume that I hope gets reformulated soon. An aroma to remember, unite, and smile. Longevity 9.9, projection 8.5, sillage 9, compliments 9.9. Depending on the moment, it elicits positive comments and transforms the atmosphere.

  • A fragrance I absolutely didn’t like. It seemed extremely bitter and gave me a headache. I wouldn’t buy it.

  • A pleasant aroma with very prominent vanilla and musk notes. It’s a performance bomb with a wide sillage; you’ll have it on even after a shower. It has a soft talcum and spicy touch. It can appeal to any woman, though young people won’t love it since it leans more toward an older audience. I recommend it for cool or cold climates.

  • guadamarengo

A very distinctive fragrance, ideal for cold weather or night; it stands out and drowns out any other scent. I’m surprised that being an EDT, it has the performance of an EDP or even a full perfume. I wouldn’t consider it for anyone under 30; it suits women better than young people, unless you’re a woman who prefers floral or fresh scents, in which case you won’t like it at all.

  • ari_sweetperfumes

It seems very similar to the original: the opening is just as strong due to the patchouli, but compared to it, it’s lighter and less overwhelming; when it dries down, it becomes softer. I like this version better because it’s more wearable, but I’ll repeat myself: every nose is different, and I don’t recommend buying it blind.

  • Without a doubt, my favorite from the brand and the only one in the Angel line that truly won me over. It smells super sweet and cozy; on my skin, praline, patchouli, and vanilla stand out—a wrapping, warm, and addictive blend. I’m so sad they discontinued it and replaced it with the 2019 version, which smells fresher and greener, far from my style and what I loved most about the original.

  • silvinicus

It starts strong with patchouli and vanilla, a strange mix that initially smells like dog urine, but then the patchouli gives way to a sweet, cozy vanilla. Great evolution for winter, lasts long on skin and even longer on clothes, though I wouldn’t recommend buying it blind since not everyone will like it.
