  1. A hidden gem from the house that’s totally worth picking up. If Cairo or Constantinopla caught your attention, AlUla won’t leave you indifferent. It starts spicy, loaded with cardamom and black pepper, with incense that lingers until the very last note. Then comes a plum—somewhere between a dried prune and a juicy, dark, smoky plum. Tobacco adds texture and saffron brings a spiced, almost metallic touch that transports you to an oasis. As the spices fade, a shy vanilla emerges, still a bit grumpy, with turmeric. Like its sister Cairo, it shines more in longevity than projection: it hits 8-9 hours on skin, and the smoky vanilla can cling to clothes for days (without intensity). Projection is moderate—you’ll definitely notice it. The quality of this house is incredible. I bought it blind knowing it’s a profile I love, but I wouldn’t recommend it to everyone. You have to like spicy and dry scents.

  2. A great forgotten gem from the house that’s totally worth it. If you loved Cairo or Constantinopla, AlUla won’t leave you indifferent. It opens spicy with cardamom and black pepper, with incense lingering until the very end. Then comes a big plum note between a dried apricot and a dark, smoky plum. Tobacco adds a scratchy edge while saffron spices it up, almost metallic, like an oasis. As the spice heat fades, a shy vanilla with turmeric emerges. Like its sister Cairo, it outlasts its sillage: 8-9 hours on skin, and the smoky vanilla on clothes can last days (without being intense). Sillage is moderate, you can tell. The quality is incredible. I bought it blind because I like the profile, but I wouldn’t recommend it to everyone: you need to enjoy dry, spicy aromas.

I just went to Penhaligon’s to try it and they gifted me a 7ml decant. It’s a really good fragrance, sweet but not cloying, perfect even at 34 degrees. The plum note really stands out and leaves a very well-executed scent. I recommend giving it a sniff; projection is moderate and longevity is around 8 hours.

Just stopped by Penhaligon’s and they gifted me a 7ml decant; it’s a top-tier fragrance, sweet but not cloying, even at 34 degrees. The plum note shines through and the overall scent is fantastic. Go for it: moderate sillage and lasts about 8 hours.
