Descripción

Halfeti Leather by Penhaligon's is a leather fragrance designed for men and women. Launched in 2020, this olfactory composition was created by perfumer Christian Provenzano. The top notes unfold with plum, cardamom, lavender, bergamot, citrus, and green notes. The heart reveals nutmeg, rose, cinnamon, cumin, violet, and jasmine. To finish, the base notes present an intense leather accompanied by oud wood, incense, cedar, and patchouli.

  • A challenging and distinguished fragrance. At first, you notice the leather and a sweet, spiced part. As it develops, the plum fruitiness intensifies, along with an aged sweetness and a touch of salt. The walnut is also quite noticeable, especially after two hours, fusing together and rounding out the scent. It’s noble, accessible, and stands out, especially in enclosed spaces and during cold, nighttime hours. Recommended, although its weak points are limited versatility and the high price; there are similar, more accessible options available.

  • You can say what you want about Penhaligon’s, but their creations have elegance and affable behavior in their DNA. They don’t shout sharp notes; they penetrate subtly and project warmth. This is true with this Halfeti Leather masterpiece. If you test it in a dry room or alongside other perfumes in a store, you’ll never know it for what it really is. It’s highly evolving; after two hours, it seems like a different perfume. The opening is sparkling, more luminous or spring-like than it truly is, hiding the dark sequences of its development. You sense effeminate tones with spices (I smell black pepper even though it’s not listed) and a floral touch; the leather gets a bit dirty, but to be called Leather, I don’t think it’s dominant (in my opinion and on my skin). It has good longevity and projection, remembering that Penhaligon’s doesn’t do ‘best mode.’ I believe it’s unisex, mature, and suitable for warm weather, just like the Halfeti Leather itself.

  • Alongside Comme des Garçons, this is the best Puig distributes. It’s a niche that truly honors its essential notes. It feels elegant, challengingly sexy, and perfect for a late-night cocktail dinner; it’s not versatile. It opens green and fruity, with leather, woods, and flowers playing over a bed of incense and oud. It’s an oriental leather where the Halfeti rose (the black Turkish rose) plays its role. It’s spiced and slightly dirty, but not too much. It’s expensive, but worth it; it’s a safe investment that will make you stand out. I discovered it out of curiosity about Penhaligon’s, and it hasn’t disappointed. Among my few perfumes, I catalog it as a jewel. It doesn’t become heavy to wear, another plus. I plan to debut it on the first cool evening dinner that comes up, without rushing but without pausing.

  • This is a masterpiece. The price is outrageous, but the quality is astonishing. The notes dance with incredible harmony. It’s unique, elegant, and deceptively simple to grasp yet complex to deconstruct. It’s bold and discreet at the same time—a difficult balance to achieve. The creator deserves a monument. If you’re looking for a cheaper alternative, San Miguel by Loewe hits the spot from a distance for an untrained nose, though it lacks the same sophistication and depth.

  • I own several Penhaligon’s, but this Leather from the Halfeti family is the one that left the biggest mark on me. While the original felt like a dark, spiced journey, the leather twist here completely changes the game: it’s deeper, more mysterious, and undeniably adult. It opens intense with spices, dried citrus, and that signature dense sweetness of the line, but within minutes the leather emerges—elegant, polished, and smoky, nothing animalic. I love the contrast between the warmth of the spices and the darkness of the leather. What surprises me most is its evolution; every time I wear it, I notice different things, sometimes a hidden rose, other times a resinous balsamic accord. It’s not linear, unfolding in layers, which makes it even more appreciable. It easily lasts 8 hours with good projection for the first 3-4. Curiously, I get tired of it sooner, but people around me are still commenting on it by midday. Ideal for elegant settings, cold nights, or special events.
