A vanilla iris, nothing like the Dior Homme line in any variant. It leans more toward a hybrid between the iris in Givenchy Gentleman EDP and Valentino Uomo Intense, with more Valentino influence. It has a clean dry down thanks to the oak, true, though it doesn’t add much else at the price point of the PORTRAITS line, but the aroma drives me crazy. Certainly, it bears no resemblance to Chocolate Greedy, Gris Charnel, or L’Atessa; I don’t understand those crazy comparisons.
From what I know, it reminds me of Givenchy Gentleman, perhaps leaning more toward the EDT Intense. The opening recalls something elegant and powdery from a designer men’s fragrance. The dry down is more powdery, centered on a rich, dark chocolate. It’s not as amber-heavy as Gentleman, but rather more vanilla-forward with sandalwood at the end. Still, the scent quality and the clarity of the notes are far superior. If you like that DNA but want to elevate it in every way (except longevity), this is a great option.
Pure elegance, a true beauty. I wanted it dearly, and it has become my favorite. It smells of exquisite vanilla and lavender, a unique and very special scent for me. Only for cold climates, it works excellently.
It’s an iris wonder, super sweet, like white chocolate and lactonic, almost edible. At first it’s more serious and elegant, but within minutes a pencil-lead-like wood note appears, and that powdery iris-vanilla sensation makes it luminous, feminine, and sensual. In the dry down, it settles into vanilla, condensed milk, or dulce de leche with white woods. I love feeling wrapped in it; I see it for daytime and cold weather, and everyone around me has loved it so much.
