  • The Terrible Teddy is spectacular! A powerful opening with a personality that bursts forth thanks to a sophisticated incense that impacts the senses without being overwhelming, but with class. It takes you to a state where character and sobriety reign. In the heart, everything transforms: as if driving a rhinoceros toward a new level. Under a narcotic leather mixed with that incense, you discover a deep dance where I already lay down my arms. That’s not the end; it’s the gateway to the final Ambroxan, what a marvel! You’re already addicted. It seems to fade quickly, but with use, I proved otherwise; clothes still hold the fragrance intact, perhaps for days. It delivers on its longevity promise, though one becomes nonconformist and craves that power again. I humbly admit: addiction! to this sober composition with a rhino head. It’s one of my most effective allies.

Love at first sniff. It smells amazing! But… the longevity fails, and the price does too. It’s not normal; a perfume isn’t judged solely by its scent—there are many more factors to consider.

  • Impressive perfume. Ultra eye-catching and masculine, a “must-have” for leather lovers. Risky and addictive. It’s a citrus and sweet combination where incense and animal leather stand out. It’s mystical and deep. The composition is very well balanced, suitable for those over 25, versatile for closed or open settings, intimate or festive occasions. It has a trail and regular longevity. It’s worth owning, although the main issue is the high cost: in Mexico, it costs about 6,500 pesos, approximately $325.

  • Impressive perfume. Ultra-striking and masculine, a ‘must-have’ for lovers of leather-dominant fragrances. Risky and addictive. It’s a citrus-sweet combo where incense and animal leather stand out. It’s mystical and deep. I think its composition is very well balanced, suitable for those over 25, versatile, and appropriate for both open and closed settings, intimate or festive, with regular sillage and longevity. A fragrance worth owning; the main drawback is the high cost, which in Mexico is around $6,500 pesos, approximately $325 USD.

Undoubtedly one of the best in this line; it’s masculine but has unisex touches. It’s delicious, mysterious, and cozy, warm. Like committing a sin in church while they’re performing incense rituals. If it explodes with the mixed notes described and settles into an earthy talc after an hour… BUT its longevity is scarce, like most perfumes in this line. A cheaper Arab perfume could definitely take the crown with this note combination. It might be worth buying…

Alongside The Tragedy of Lord George, it’s among the best in the Penhaligon Portrait series, though I love them all for their quality and good taste. Longevity is very good; it’s not a beast, and Penhaligon doesn’t aim to overwhelm neighbors. It easily lasts a full workday. Plus, Quentin Bisch made it, and he knows his stuff.

  • I need this perfume in my collection as soon as possible. For me, it doesn’t smell like leather or incense; it’s a rich, modern molecular blend with classic touches, masculine, powerful, and seductive. It belongs to the Bois Imperial family; it’s not a clone or inspiration, but of the same style; it’s no coincidence that the same perfumer created it. I don’t know how to describe it better; molecular scents are like that, you have to try them. The only thing I catch are sensations of a 30+ man, elegant, seductive, and super attractive. Performance: excellent. I grab the low-performance comments with tongs; there are many well-made fakes or noses that get saturated too quickly. To say it doesn’t smell much, come on…

  • I need to get this in my collection ASAP. It doesn’t smell like leather or incense to me; it’s a super rich, modern molecular blend with classic touches, masculine, potent, and seductive. It’s part of the Bois Imperial family—not a clone or inspiration, but the same style; no coincidence it’s made by the same perfumer. I can’t describe it better, but molecular perfumes are like that; you have to try them. The only thing I can describe is the feeling it leaves: it’s for a man over 30, masculine, elegant, seductive, and super attractive. As for performance, it’s excellent. I take comments about poor longevity with a grain of salt, as there are countless well-made fakes on the market, or noses that get saturated quickly. Because saying this smells or lasts short… well…

  • A very good fragrance overall. For me, the best in this Penhaligon series is The Inimitable William. I like Teddy, but… you can definitely smell Quentin Bisch’s signature here, sharing the same base as Bois Imperial, B683, and Ganymede. That’s why I’d recommend the latter much more often, or even the value of Bois Imperial; they aren’t identical, but they share DNA. As I said, a great fragrance overall.

  • As an aroma, it’s amazing. It’s one of those minimalist scents, without an overwhelming blast of notes, that just captivates. The opening is smoky with a resinous touch that gives it depth. As it dries down, it becomes less smoky and more ‘sweet’. I don’t detect leather, and if it’s there, it’s a very pleasant sweetened leather. You can feel Quentin Bisch’s hand on this, especially that ambroxan giving it a molecular composition. I love it and it’s incredibly versatile for any occasion. Great for winter-fall. Now, I’m not criticizing the performance. It’s not a beast mode, which, along with the house’s markup, keeps me from buying it. I’m not willing to pay more than €3 per ml. That’s totally subjective. At a different price point, it would be a serious purchase option.

  • I already knew the name, but seeing it’s by Quentin B. makes it feel like a smoky, minimalist version of Bois Imperial.

  • It’s simply a delicious, addictive scent. To my nose, it smells like sweet, smoky leather—like buying a new jacket or real leather boots. It’s that fresh, sweetened smell of new leather on sofas or car seats. Perfect for winter, spring, and fall. Very masculine and elegant. The only downside is the outrageous price, but if you can grab it for under €180 like I did, don’t hesitate; it’s extremely delicious.
