It concentrates all the natural sweetness of the flower, like a herbal-scented Starlux candy. Intense and penetrating, it hits hard and leaves a particular trail. Smells like glucose or a very sweet, deep herbal substance, curious. It’s the scent of neroli txutxes, gummies, and pure nectar lollipops. No sugar, but with a natural sweetness like maple syrup. Interesting to know, though I don’t think it’s for me.
Total surprise! I use it and love it. It’s clean, gourmand, intoxicating, and curious. To me, it smells of apricot, nuts, green stems, and fig milk, more than mandarin. It’s floral from the start, with neroli, daisies, fresh pumpkin, nectar, and rosemary honey. Reminds me of honeysuckle in summer with a fresh eucalyptus finish. An imposing trail with just two sprays. Forget gender classification; it’s perfect for spring and autumn. Women have complimented me a lot, let’s be brave! It’s a marvel.
It’s my favorite neroli: opens with mandarin and a mysterious almond nuance creating a unique, sweet, woody, and versatile accord. Seems simple but is packed with nuances that make it one-of-a-kind. The trail is enchanting and lasts about 4-5 hours. On a woman’s skin it shines, on mine it darkens. A classic hard to imitate, ideal if you’re looking for quality and something different.
It opens super fresh and citrusy (reminds me of a carbonated drink) and quickly transitions into a sweet floral (like yellow flowers with a honey stick) and an old-fashioned candy (those heart-shaped wedding candies). It’s an interesting scent that captivates without being cloying because it’s subtle. I’d rank it third in this line (first Yasmine, second Lady Blanche). It might be worth buying, or you could look for a more affordable option with similar notes. Unisex, but leans feminine.
It starts fresh and citrusy, like a sparkling drink, then quickly turns into a sweet flower, like those yellow ones on a honey stick, evoking an old-fashioned wedding candy. It’s a captivating and subtle scent that isn’t cloying. I’d rank it third in this line, after Yasmine and Lady Blanche. Worth buying or hunting for something more affordable with those notes. Unisex, leaning feminine.
Chapter 8 for lovers of neroli: Dominique Ropion makes it accessible and less intoxicating than other potent florals. The citrus top with tangerine and pink pepper adds freshness and lightness. The heart is a soapy, clean, creamy neroli—elegant without being overpowering. The drydown loses its strength quickly, leaving only a subtle, sweet trail close to the skin. In my case, the longevity is moderate and the sillage is average, but it’s essential to try it first; on other skin types, it could last longer. A moderate white floral, perfect for those who want neroli without the usual drama.
(Tuberose lovers chapter 8) Neroli without excess, featuring freshness and subtle sweetness. Dominique Ropion brings neroli to a more accessible ground than intense florals like Gucci Bloom or Do Son. The neroli’s prominence is tempered by a sparkling citrus opening of mandarin and pink pepper, adding effervescent freshness and reducing density. The heart unfolds a soapy, clean, and creamy neroli—elegant without being invasive. However, the dry-down loses intensity quickly, leaving just a sweet, subtle skin scent. In my case, the longevity was moderate and the trail average, but it’s essential to try it first, as it might perform better on other skin types. A moderate white floral, ideal for those seeking the essence of neroli without the usual drama.
What a magical citrus fragrance! 😍 I haven’t been a fan of citrus for years, but when I stepped into a niche perfumery looking for something surprising—like tobacco or oud—I ended up finding this. Once the ‘forbidden’ trend faded and I aligned my scent with my life, I returned to something luminous, noble, and easy, leaving a great impression on those around me. There are stages where we fight against everything, trying to look strong (like Black Phantom or The Lover’s Tale), and others where we’ve reached our destination, relaxed and smiling. That’s where I find Heartless Helen: a spring-summer scent with juicy, sweet, and woody citrus neroli. The opening is explosive and delicious, though not incredibly innovative. Penhaligon’s lists it as feminine, but I see it as unisex; the neroli doesn’t dominate to make it floral, but harmonizes perfectly with the citrus and wood notes for anyone who wants to wear it. Ideal for the office: elegant, noble yet distinct, balanced, and special. On my skin, it’s spectacular, with medium-high projection and 8-10 hours of longevity. The beautiful aquamarine color of the juice and the stunning bottle are a bonus.
A magical citrus fragrance. Years ago, I wasn’t a fan of citrus, but when I entered the niche world, I was looking for something surprising: tobacco, oud, alcohol, molecules… Years later, once the forbidden became familiar and I matched the perfume to my rhythm, I returned to the luminous, noble, and easy. These are the ones that leave a great aftertaste and make a cordial impression. There are stages where we fight against everything, wanting to be strong and complex, and others where we arrive at our destination, relaxed and in harmony. Here is Heartless Helen, for spring-summer, with juicy, sweet, and woody neroli. The opening is explosive and tasty, though not groundbreaking. At first, it smells like old Juanola pills, exactly the same scent, even though the description doesn’t list licorice. I didn’t like the sample at all—I didn’t even use it fully because I just didn’t feel comfortable wearing the perfume. I see it as an autumn scent for quiet nights once the heat is gone, nothing for daily wear or big events.
In the opening, I notice something that reminds me of old Juanola mints, the exact same scent, although it doesn’t mention licorice. I didn’t like the sample; I didn’t even finish using it because I didn’t feel comfortable wearing the perfume. I see it for autumn and evening, a quiet night when the air starts to cool down and the heat has passed. Nothing for everyday wear or big events.
Well-made with a super feminine character. The neroli really shines above all, with a citrus and woody base. It’s okay, but not for me; I admit I prefer a different kind of scent for a woman.
