  • A spicy, peppery fragrance with a sharp opening of violet leaf, pepper, and nutmeg, accompanied by a scent illusion of leather and wood. Clean, warm, bright, and very masculine. Refined with a classic yet modern cut, quite versatile and subtle. If you wear it with formal attire, it becomes an occasion fragrance, but paired with a t-shirt and jacket, it turns casual without losing its distinction. As for performance, it’s not a beast; projection is moderate and a bit weak on my skin, though I’ve been able to catch it on others after more than six hours.

  • A fabulous fragrance from start to finish. On me, I don’t detect that imaginary leather often mentioned, but rather woods, highly refined woody essences, and very spicy amber notes. Violet leaf and fine patchouli add a touch of pure magic. It’s elegant yet can easily be casual. The scent is perfectly balanced in every way. The trail is moderate to wide, never getting heavy. I see it as suitable for any season and time of day, whatever you prefer. Lasts about 6-7 hours, with the first two hours having special projection. Each ph is distinct, especially with the ambroxan touches, so I recommend testing it very personally. A perfect blend of notes—it’s like visiting a planetarium 🪐, observing all the constellations and being dazzled by such beauty, as if everything were placed there perfectly by a higher hand, a divine force. Suddenly, there it is, asteroid B683, shining with its own light, and you find yourself gazing at it for hours in total fascination.

B683 by MA Barrois feels above all an immensely original perfume, with its magic expressed mainly in the rich trail it leaves behind. For some reason, it reminds me of Creed’s Aventus mixed with Royal Oud, even though they aren’t remotely similar in their note declarations; it’s that leather treatment with a fruity and spicy aspect that makes me draw such a comparison. From the first spritz, there’s that fresh sensation of paprika, plus saffron and nutmeg. In the dry down, the violet leaf and labdanum give an accord similar to the body but sharper. Finally, sandalwood and oakmoss grant the composition a very masculine and imposing character. I find it super interesting; I don’t enjoy smelling it directly from the application point, but as I said, its trail is very captivating and rich. More masculine than feminine, with more than respectable performance, for temperate to cold climates, with excellent and particular aromatic quality and construction. Definitely recommend testing it because I hadn’t tried anything similar, and I think it adds value to all the virtues this perfume already has. Rating: 8/10

B683 by MA Barrois feels like an incredibly original fragrance, with its magic shining through in the rich trail it leaves behind. For some reason, it reminds me of Creed’s Aventus mixed with Royal Oud, even though they’re not remotely similar on paper. That fruity, spicy leather treatment creates such a strong association. From the first spray, you get that fresh kick of paprika, saffron, and nutmeg. Deep down, the violet leaf and labdanum create an accord similar to the heart but sharper. Finally, sandalwood and oakmoss give the composition a very masculine, imposing character. It’s super interesting—I don’t love smelling it right off the skin, but as I said, the trail is captivating and rich. More masculine than feminine, with more than respectable performance in temperate to cold weather, plus excellent and unique aromatic construction. Definitely worth testing since I’ve never smelled anything like it; it adds real value to all the fragrance’s existing strengths. Rating: 8/10

  • SPECTACULAR!!! It’s so refreshing to find compositions like this—unique, captivating… an overwhelming fragrance, yet fresh, fresh with saffron, amber, moss…??? Yes!! Fresh, ethereal, elegant, brilliant, marvelous… hail your majesty 🙏 The signature scent of a charismatic, intelligent, talented executive. It’s like a luxury sports car, for her or for him. A safe bet for any season, day or night, formal or informal; wearing it turns you into a one-of-a-kind piece, so no matter the situation, you shine wherever you stand. Saffron is one of my favorite notes; I have many saffron treasures in my collection. Ganymede remains my favorite, but B683 is next in line to join it. Can both coexist in a collection?? Who said class can’t be redundant?

Fresh, ethereal, elegant, brilliant, wonderful… hail your majesty 🙏 The signature scent of a charismatic, intelligent, and talented executive. It’s like a luxury sports car, for her or for him. A safe bet for any season, day or night, formal or informal. Wearing it makes you a unique piece, so it doesn’t matter the situation; you shine wherever you stand. Saffron is one of my favorite notes; I have many saffron jewels in my collection. Ganymede remains my favorite, but B683 is next in line to join it. Do the two overlap in a collection?? Who said class has to be redundant??

DISIDENTE B683: Pure elegance, that’s its real name. The most underrated perfume from Marc-Antoine Barrois is also one of those rare jewels in niche perfumery. Many reviewers have dismissed it as the ‘ugly duckling,’ too unassuming and redundant compared to its brand ‘siblings.’ But for me, B683 has its own talents to be taken very seriously. Even though leather isn’t listed, I perceive it prominently, accompanied by saffron, pepper, violet leaf, musk, patchouli, and sandalwood, which give it a mineral-tinged base. Longevity easily hits 8 hours on my skin with notable projection and sillage thanks to the ambroxan in the formula. Occasions and weather: ideal for special events where you want—and expect—to stand out. This is a perfume with a very masculine personality, though a bold woman could pull it off too. It’s the perfect complement for your best outfit (a black suit and shirt or that little black dress that fits so well), preferably in evening or nighttime settings and in cool or cold climates. B683 is bottled high class. An elegance that conveys sobriety, self-control, and elitism. It’s a perfume so well-made and good that I can’t imagine anyone finding fault with it. Obviously, it’s not for kids or trend-chasers. For a determined dissenter over 30, it’s one of their best cards. Whenever I want to emphasize my confident image, that bulletproof part of my personality, I always choose B683. Last but not least: always test it before buying.

  • Ganymede won all the awards, but the true gem of MAB is B683. It’s true it’s less seasonally versatile, but this is pure bottled magic for autumn and winter. How do I explain it? It’s like if Ganymede had a kid with Grand Soir.

  • Ganymede takes all the awards, but the real gem from MAB is the B683. While it’s not as versatile across seasons, it’s pure liquid magic for fall and winter. How would I describe it? Like if Ganymede had a baby with Grand Soir.
