No Manes is a rich perfume, a scent that is both enduring and soft at the same time.
I’m giving this D&G line one last shot; if I see it, I’ll buy it, but only this time. One last try.
I’ll give D&G one last shot with this line; if I see it, I’ll buy it, but the last time!
Well… My perception of this The One family hasn’t improved with this third launch. Not only is it the most ‘feminine’ of the three (and I was already complaining about the previous ones for that), but its scent… is dominated by one smell, one note… that, to be honest, repels me. I don’t know if it’s the patchouli or something else (I’ll try to identify it later), it’s so strong it drowns out everything else. I won’t say more about this fragrance. Pass.
At first, I thought I smelled something soft citrus, like lemon or bergamot, with a green apple sensation. Since those notes aren’t listed, I assume it’s the combination of the aquatics with rosemary. I didn’t detect the cardamom like I have in other fragrances. It evolves into a soft wood, always with that green Mediterranean vibe, with soft musk and patchouli. It doesn’t impress me too much, neither good nor bad. Maybe at the start some notes vaguely reminded me of a fresh women’s perfume, but in reality, I felt it more like a spray deodorant. The dry down is clearly masculine, but very simple for my tastes. Moderate longevity; it can last over 6 hours, but up close with low sillage. It’s clearly for informal use, better for summer and daytime spring, as it lacks the complexity for night.
Greetings. This is my first D&G fragrance, and I must say it’s fresh, rich, and completely summery. It has a flaw common to most fresh scents: it lasts very little, about 3 hours. After that, you have to reapply. Still, it’s good, but that’s about it.
I agree with the previous reviewer. I know D&G fragrances don’t hook everyone, but for me, this is a gem. In fact, it’s my first from the house, and I had been dying to own it. Finally, I have it, and it didn’t disappoint. Upon application, I felt a super refreshing and energizing citrus, very tasty. It softens a bit after a few minutes, but the aquatic notes remain the base throughout. I also detect a subtle, non-intrusive sweetness, which I think is the cedarwood. The ideal weather is summer, of course, without over-applying, but it also works well in transitional seasons and for semi-formal occasions.
I usually have a bad impression of this house, and this fragrance confirms it. Too synthetic, and I agree with Shiseido that it has an annoying note. It’s a lightweight fragrance, neither here nor there.
Aquatic, fresh, and youthful; the rosemary is barely noticeable (it’s more of a herbal, lemony touch), but it lacks depth. It’s youthful, sporty, and non-intrusive; you’ll see the person wearing it again, but you won’t remember the scent.
Very good fragrance, exquisite aroma. The aquatic notes are what I identify most and are noticeable throughout its entire duration. Unfortunately, it doesn’t last long on my skin and soon becomes imperceptible, which is a pity because I truly loved it.
I tried this fragrance today. Upon opening it, I sensed those aquatic notes and it conveyed freshness and softness. It’s the typical sporty scent; I feel like I’ve heard it before, something repetitive that doesn’t catch my attention. The sillage and longevity confirm it’s a poor fragrance; I don’t recommend it.
Very soft and discreet perfume. Fresh and aquatic notes with lemon taking the lead. It doesn’t have great sillage because of its freshness, but it’s excellent for daily wear, casual occasions, post-workout, or when you need something unobtrusive that won’t overpower the room. Ideal for hot weather and any age.
Very linear and nice, but it doesn’t stand out among other sporty and aquatic fragrances; for the price, I don’t see the value. I bought the 30ml version and wouldn’t buy it again. I prefer Acqua di Gio, even if it’s very commercial. The rosemary note is the most prominent.
Nice fragrance, versatile. I don’t detect any aquatic notes and it reminds me of Hugo Boss Energise. Nothing new or innovative, but it does the job well; a pleasant all-rounder. Moderate sillage and longevity. Rating: 7/10.
Honestly, what a great scent—fresh and sporty, just how I like it. The only downside is longevity: on my skin, it doesn’t last more than four hours and you only notice it up close.
It disappointed me. It smells very synthetic; the EDT version is much better and more convincing. The longevity and sillage are weak.
Hits 100% for sports. In heat and humidity, it really stands out; I prefer it to Light Blue, even though I tried it and wouldn’t buy the full bottle—I’ll stick with my 30ml decant. Fine, subtle, and aquatic scent, perfect for a day outdoors, and it clings to clothes for a long time.
Freshness, optimism, outdoor walks, daytime, sun, gym… simplicity. This is The One Sport, a light aquatic-woody fragrance, young, easy to use, and pleasant. It opens with citrus and aquatic notes and immediately gives way to rosemary (very clear and well-done), to settle in cedarwood wood on an aquatic base in the dry down. Soft musk and patchouli are perceived at the end. It’s fresh, projects well, and lasts. Its bottle is very delicate and beautiful.
Freshness, optimism, walks, day, sun, gym… simplicity. This is The One Sport: a light, young, and easy-to-use aquatic woody fragrance. It opens with citrus and aquatic notes, quickly moves to rosemary (very clear and well-executed), and dries down to red cedar with an aquatic base. At the end, you can notice the soft musk and patchouli. It’s fresh, projects well, and lasts. The bottle is delicate and beautiful.
This Sport didn’t quite convince me; the rosemary is way too heavy and has a synthetic edge that becomes overwhelming, especially right after spraying. It projects well for the first hour, but then it fades to skin scent. Longevity is around 6 hours, and like most fragrances, it performs better on clothes. If you like this aquatic concept with rosemary and soft wood, I recommend Aqva Marine by Bulgari instead—it’s better quality, performance, and value.
I didn’t end up liking this Sport; the rosemary is very heavy and synthetic, something overwhelming at the opening. It projects well for an hour and then sits close to the skin. It lasts about 6 hours and stays better on clothes, like most. If you like this aquatic concept with rosemary and soft wood, I recommend Aqva Marine by Bulgari; it’s better quality, performance, and price.
More than a classic sport, it smells elegant and citrusy, perfect for the office or an event, highly recommended. The sillage and longevity are excellent; on my skin, it lasts about 6 hours.
If Fragrantica already warned that here they only sell junk, better run away from The One Sport. What happened, D&G? It’s an expensive brand that promises exclusivity, but this perfume smells like nothing. When I tried it, I thought I had a runny nose; no matter how close I brought it to my wrist, I only felt a citrus touch so soft it seemed like a lemon air freshener for storing seasonal clothes. It’s so insipid that it’s not even worth asking for a tester in a store. What a pity, because the original is my favorite, and I expected this version to honor its father, but it turns out to be the black sheep of the line.
I have mixed feelings about this fragrance. On one hand, it doesn’t smell forced or plastic (a huge achievement these days), and on the other, I can’t clearly recognize a single note. It’s a ‘sport’ version with a certain originality, and I have to say it seems excessively underrated, without being, obviously, a masterpiece. It smells aquatic to me, but without the typical Calone, with a very faint lemony citrus hint and a quite noticeable spicy note that reminds me of pepper, which isn’t listed. It also seems a floral note and a wood note are peeking through, which I think is the soul of the fragrance. To sum up, I think it’s a very fresh aquatic/woody. It’s pleasant. I hope I’m not getting roasted for this, but I think it has a certain originality and doesn’t smell bad at all. Quite better, for example, than the masculine ‘Light Blue’ or its horrible flanker ‘Intense’, which was like a visit to the house of horrors (perfumers, understand…) or on a similar level to the very ‘Dior Homme Sport’, whose test on a fairly recent bottle (this one has been reformulated about 100 times…) seemed quite questionable to me. The performance isn’t as bad as they say, although it is weak. The sillage is always very low, but it’s perceptible for more than 4-5 hours, maybe a bit more, very up close. What a pity this aspect. Interesting perfume, which has been winning me over with each wear and can be had for little money. Watch out, at retail price it seems excessive to me. I really liked it and the bottle is cool…
I’m divided on this fragrance: it doesn’t smell like plastic or forced (which is hard to find these days), but I can’t clearly recognize any single note. It’s an original ‘sport’ version that I think is unfairly underrated, without being a masterpiece. It smells aquatic without being Calone, with a very subtle woody citrus touch and a noticeable spice, like unlisted pepper. There’s also a hint of floral and a wood that I believe is the soul. In short, it’s aquatic/woody but very fresh and pleasant. Maybe I’ll get pelted, but it has originality and doesn’t smell bad. It’s better than the masculine ‘Light Blue’ or its horrible ‘Intense’ (a trip to the house of horrors), and on par with ‘Dior Homme Sport’ (reformulated about 100 times), which I found questionable. The performance isn’t as bad as they say, though it’s weak: low sillage but noticeable for 4-5 hours on the skin. What a pity. An interesting fragrance that has won me over every time I wear it, and it’s cheap to get. Watch out, though; at retail price, it seems excessive. I really liked it, and the bottle is cool.
The aquatic scent is nice because it’s soft, but the cardamom and patchouli don’t quite work for it. The worst part is that it lasts very little; The One Sport had more potential, and D&G ruined it. What a pity.
For me, this and Gentleman are the jewels of The One. They’re super original, but what a shame that their longevity is so weak and short.
Does anyone know what smells like The One Sport? Rumor has it they’re no longer selling it here. Thanks in advance!
I hear many people complaining about the longevity and projection, but for me, it’s a beast. I picked it up right when it launched in 2012, a 150ml bottle. It’s not my favorite fragrance, but it’s one of the most performant.
Not bad, after all, it’s a sport fragrance. Though if we’re talking sports, there are better options (in my opinion), especially considering the price; with that money or less, you can find something superior. I’m not saying it’s expensive—in fact, it isn’t—but if you’re looking for a great scent at a lower price point, there are better choices. That said, this alternative is peculiar, simple yet curious; it just depends on the goal. Aquatic notes have always smelled like half-sweet lemon and alcohol to me, and this smells a lot like that with a slight talcum-like base in the opening, softened by a floral touch. The alcohol buzz fades, leaving behind a scent that honestly reminds me of deodorant balls before giving way to what I assume is red cedar, flowers, and aquatic notes that turn curious. For some reason, when it dries down, it reminds me of the atmosphere of a sushi restaurant I’ve visited (a few times), one that’s quite open (not street-style), very fresh. You can smell the kitchen with spices and deep fryers, yet it’s still fresh, and this fragrance reminds me of that; it’s curious. Still, I don’t see it as my signature scent; I’d only wear it once or twice because of how curious it feels to me. However, I would use it for what it’s supposed to be used for, since it’s a sport fragrance. It’s perfect for going out to exercise, or if you’re looking to smell fresh and good but in a novel way, it’s an excellent alternative. So, it’s worth it. It’s not mediocre; it’s simple but breaks away from the conventional by blending aquatic and floral notes with red cedar, generating fresh, sharp, citrusy, spicy, floral, spiced, woody, yet talcum-like aromas.
