Since 2008, many of us (including me) were hypnotized by The One EDT but disappointed by its short longevity. As betrayed lovers, we’ve broken our beloved’s heart over and over, only to fall for her promises again, yet we still love her unconditionally and wait for the day she gifts us eternal love in the form of a fragrance. I’m grateful that in Europe, the box omits empty promises of 16 hours and nonsense about 97% approval. We, her fans, will buy this The One Parfum almost like religious sectarians. Only this time (finally) does it make us smile. Upon opening, a sublime labdanum greets us with spicy, resinous, and ambered accords. The DNA of the original appears gradually, timidly in the background. In my case, I felt contradictions at first; it seemed like a hybrid between Hugo Boss Bottled Elixir and the original EDT. Considering Boss Bottled Elixir to be among the best in current perfumery with spectacular longevity, this Parfum didn’t blow my mind, but it partially delivers what we hoped for. Max Forti always dreamed of an elixir version with alicorn touches and oud nuances. I hope someone at D&G hears him. Longevity is 7-8 hours, and it stays on my skin all day. I don’t rule out that it might improve with age. Is it worth it? As a fan of the line, absolutely. I won’t fall for the temptation of the new 2025 EDP; at most, I’ll try it in-store and be glad I didn’t buy it. P.S. Edited a few days later: the 16-hour and 97% approval advertising belongs to the new EDP version. After aging, the pepper note has emerged with force, almost dominating the opening. Projection remains moderate, but the trail has improved. Longevity stays at 8 hours, but they are consistent 8 hours where you never stop smelling it.
The One for Men Parfum is spicy, ambered, and woody. The opening is sweet with nutmeg and other amber tones. As it develops, you can smell the amber and tobacco DNA of the original, but this version stays spicier. After several hours, a woody base of patchouli, spices, and amber remains, with traces of tobacco lingering until they disappear. It’s geared toward fresh or cold days, more nocturnal than the EDT and EDP. While it keeps the line’s DNA, it’s sweeter yet equally pleasant, though less versatile. Longevity on me has been excellent, over 10 hours, an improvement over previous versions. The sillage is close to the skin, not skin-deep or imperceptible, though it seems that’s part of the line’s personality. I liked it; it stays faithful to the saga and is a good addition, in the style of the new Toy Boy 2, so I’ll probably choose one of the two.
Tested this morning on skin and dry. In summary, it’s 90% of the EdP. Spectacular scent, but… I was very excited by what I read in the first reviews and comments about the performance, and unfortunately, it’s not like that in my case. Once sprayed, you can feel the high concentration of essential oils leaving a lot of greasiness on the skin. The first movements have good projection, but as soon as the first hour passes, it drops noticeably, staying right on the skin with a longevity similar to the 2015 EdP. What a pity, and I’m glad I didn’t let myself be carried away by the impulse of the first opinions and bought it blindly. A total disappointment.
Since 2008, we let The One EDT down, but we were frustrated that it evaporated in nothing. As betrayed fans, we’ve broken our beloved’s heart time and again, yet we still love her madly and wait for her to gift us that eternal love in the form of a perfume. Thank God, in Europe they didn’t sell us the box with promises of 16 hours of longevity nor that nonsense about 97% approval. This The One Parfum is what all her fans will buy, as if we were sectarians. But this time, finally, it makes us smile. Upon opening, a sublime labdanum welcomes us with spicy, resinous, and ambered accords. The DNA of the original appears little by little, timidly in the background. In my case, I have mixed feelings at first because it smells like a hybrid between Hugo Boss Bottled Elixir and the original The One EDT. As a warm, spicy, resinous, and ambered scent, I consider Boss Bottled Elixir to be the best today and it lasts forever, so this The One Parfum hasn’t blown my head off. But deep down, it partially fulfills what many expected. Max Forti always dreamed of an elixir version with Alicante touches and oud nuances. I hope someone at D&G hears him. In my case, it lasts about 7-8 hours and stays on my personal bubble all the time. I don’t rule out that it lasts longer if you let it rest a bit. Is it worth it? As a lover of this line, my answer is a resounding yes. I say I won’t fall for the temptation of the new 2025 EDP; at most I’ll try it in-store and be glad I didn’t buy it. P.S. Edited this a few days later: the advertising about 16 hours and 97% approval belongs to the new EDP version. After a few days of resting, the most striking thing is that the pepper has shot out to almost dominate the opening. Projection remains moderate, but it has gained in trail. Longevity stays at 8 hours, but they are consistent 8 hours where you never stop perceiving the fragrance.
Rich as hell in the opening. Very ambered with noticeable tobacco as it dries. The downside is that on my skin, it lasts very little. Upon spraying, it’s skin-deep; what a shame that the performance is so poor for how good it smells. I hope letting it mature improves the longevity.
Tested this morning on skin and it’s dry down heavy. In short, it’s 90% of the EDP. The scent is spectacular, but I’m disappointed it doesn’t match the hype about performance. 🤯 You can tell there’s a high concentration of oils leaving a greasy feel. The first hour has good projection, but after that, it drops significantly, staying skin-close with longevity similar to the 2015 EDP. In any case, a pity, and I’m glad I didn’t buy it blindly based on early reviews. A total letdown 😞.
It smells incredibly rich upon opening. It has a lot of amber and the tobacco is very noticeable as it dries. The bad thing is that on my skin it lasts very little. When sprayed, it’s noticeable right on the skin, what a pity that it has such poor performance for how rich it smells. I hope that letting it macerate for a while improves the longevity.
If you already have the EDP, you won’t find anything new here; they are very similar. The performance didn’t seem much different from the EDP either; it’s there but discreet. I suppose D&G, with their trend of releasing flankers at will, decided The One needed another version to refresh interest in the saga.
Dolce & Gabbana The One Parfum is a total success: ambered and very well achieved. It starts with a subtle orange, nothing invasive, giving it an elegant and distinct touch compared to the rest of the line, adding luminosity before entering that warm and deep heart. In the development, it reminds me a lot of Givenchy Society Ambrée: a modern, sensual amber profile with a spicy touch, ideal for the night. Longevity is notably better than in previous versions and projection is powerful, a true nocturnal beast without exaggerating. Perfect for going out, dinner, or events where you want to make a presence without losing class. It’s a more intense, masculine, and mature reinterpretation of the The One DNA that, finally, does it justice in performance.
The One for Men Parfum is a spicy, ambered, and woody fragrance. Upon opening, it smells sweet and condimented, with nutmeg and other ambered notes. As time passes, the amber and tobacco DNA of the original becomes noticeable, but here the spicy touch predominates more. After several hours, the base is wood, patchouli, spices, and amber, with that tobacco trail fading away little by little. It’s designed for fresh or cold days, with a more nocturnal air than the EDT and EDP versions; although it keeps the soul of the line, it is sweeter, equally pleasant but less versatile. Longevity with me has been excellent, over 10 hours, so it improves compared to the previous ones, although the trail stays stuck to the skin, neither imperceptible nor too strong, which I think is part of the character of this line. I liked the scent, it’s faithful to the brand, and I think it’s a good addition; it reminds me of the style of the new Toy Boy 2, so I might lean towards one of the two.
Dolce & Gabbana The One Parfum is a beautifully crafted amber fragrance. The opening features a subtle orange note—nothing invasive, but enough to add an elegant, distinct touch. That initial citrus burst brings brightness before diving into a warm, deep heart. In the development, it strongly reminds me of Givenchy Society Ambrée, with that modern, sensual, slightly spicy amber profile, perfect for nighttime wear. Longevity is solid, better than previous versions, and the projection is potent: a true night beast. Ideal for nights out or dinners where you want to make an impression without losing class. An intense, masculine, mature reinterpretation that finally delivers on performance.
I love this line; this is the darkest, most nocturnal version. I detect burnt orange, tobacco, amber, and spices. It’s all lovely here. However, this house has a policy of terrible performance. The opening is good, but after 15 minutes, it’s almost gone. It slowly fades from the skin as if you never wore it. Let it be known that this is a new launch with no weird reformulations. This isn’t just happening with this line; it affects the others too. The Devotion and K scents survive but aren’t my style. I bought a Light Blue EDT from 2025 and it’s the same story: great opening that vanishes quickly with no projection. I struggled to sell it for 20 euros because no one wanted to pay more; they see it as just another supermarket scent. Though, ironically, the supermarket ones are bombs compared to these D&G offerings. What a shame. Spoiler: the other The One from this year is even worse in performance.
I find it lovely: elegant, subtle, and formal. On skin, it lasts 8 to 10 hours with just 5 sprays, and even longer on clothes. It has moderate sillage, perfect for close encounters and formal occasions, much like Givenchy’s Reserve Privée. Very lovely, I recommend it.
On my skin, it smells like nothing, neither at the start nor after. It’s such a weak scent that it’s hard to even smell it myself. Maybe I’m just used to stronger fragrances, but if this is a Parfum, bring on God and show it.
Quick test on my wrists and it nailed it: a mature, elegant scent with a playful edge. What really surprised me is the performance; I’ve worn it for over 10 hours and it’s still throwing out bursts. You can tell it has a high oil concentration. I’ll definitely keep an eye on this because I expected little and it left me shocked. P.S. To those saying it doesn’t last… well, I think you need to take Fragrantica reviews with a grain of salt.
Alright, straight to the point. It’s a flanker of my favorite perfume, but I’m not buying into the hype. I picked it up at Macy’s for $190, which is a lot for my wallet, but I loved the dry-down. I’ve been wearing it about four times over two weeks. The opening is sweet orange and pepper, lasting about an hour and a half, then comes the spicy amber phase. It settles into a warm, distinctive, elegant, and rich amber tobacco dry-down. But here’s the catch: on skin, it barely lasts 7 hours; on clothes, it goes up to 10 or more, but you have to get close to smell it. The projection is momentary, maybe an hour at most. It doesn’t project like a beast. For the price and since it’s a Parfum, it should last and project more. Compared to the EDP I own, this one leans heavier into the spicy, amber, and tobacco notes; it’s rich, intoxicating, and seductive, but it feels lacking in power. Hopefully, it improves with age.
