The next day I went to a perfumerie to test fragrances and then bought So Scandal by JPG. I liked it a lot from the start: it opens sweet with a tiny acidic touch of raspberry. It’s a white floral, one of my favorites. Neroli, orange blossom, and jasmine with raspberry give a beautiful result, richer with that creamy soft milk. It smells refined but youthful, and the performance is marvelous. The last great flanker in the Scandal line.
Intensely sweet aroma. The neroli on my skin smells like bad raspberry bubblegum, very plastic, almost fantasy-like. That’s why it’s a no for me.
I have the first version. On my skin, it lasts 7 to 8 hours with moderate initial projection for an hour, then stays close to the skin. With my knowledge and my fragrances, it seems more like a flanker of My Way than Scandal. It’s a My Way with a fruity raspberry tone. Delicious, since I love My Way and it’s a forever fragrance, but I expected something more substantial with So Scandal, as it doesn’t compare to the others in the line. It’s fruity, creamy, with white flowers standing out, especially the neroli. Delicious, beautiful packaging, but would I buy it again? No, it doesn’t stand out from the others.
Smells like assorted fruit gummies, constant but not overwhelming. Very cute on candies, but I’m not sure if I want to smell like gummies.
I went to a retail store for reviews and my love for the original Scandal. The saleswoman applied it; two sprays and something beautiful entered my nose. Love at first sniff. Fresh at the start, with the raspberry not too noticeable, then a soft bed of powerful neroli, and finally a shy hint of the original. Sometimes I couldn’t detect it, but when I moved my hands, I found it. I knew I needed it. Two days later, having dinner with friends, I wore my jacket because of the cold. As I got into the car, I smelled a very familiar fruity and sweet aroma. I got home and realized: it was on my wrist, not from the perfume I wore that night. I remembered that the day I tested So Scandal I was wearing that jacket, and yes, the scent remained intact on the cuff. A marvel. Now I desire it twice as much.
Synthetically addictive. It opens powerfully with a plasticky raspberry, like brand new rubber, then softens a bit before the neroli kicks in. It’s striking, sparkling, and feminine. If you want a synthetic sweet scent, it’s the only one in my collection I keep repurchasing.
Wow, outrageously sweet. You smell creamy raspberry all day, the sharp neroli follows you everywhere, and the trail is massive. Forget about clothes; you can’t take it off or wash it out. On skin, it’s sweet and creamy. Yes, it’s a bit synthetic, but it’s addictive. Ideal for night and cool weather.
Is L’INTERDIT THIS? The top notes are pure Scandal, but once it settles, it’s identical to L’Interdit by Givenchy. I know this one well; it’s one of my all-time favorites, and the resemblance is huge. Is it bad? I don’t know; I like both. It smells like 25% Scandal DNA and 75% L’Interdit. If it weren’t for the raspberry, it would be the same. They share a heart of neroli, orange blossom, and jasmine, so it makes sense. I really like it, but if I had to choose a flanker for Scandal, I’d go with something more unique. If you’re not into L’Interdit, it’s worth a try.
I wish the raspberry note lasted longer than the initial spray. On my skin, So Scandal turns into a repulsive tuberose that kept bothering me. Still, I finished the 80ml bottle just for that incredibly rich but fleeting explosion. Definitely the most wearable Scandal.
The one that got the most compliments: richly sweet, not cloying, and great longevity.
My reconciliation with neroli. I don’t like My Way, I’m tired of Gucci Bloom, Interdit is too much, and Paradoxe is… okay. But this one is a definite yes: creamy, milky neroli with raspberry. What more could I ask for? It moves away from the Scandal concept. No honey here, it’s totally different.
Scent of sweetened neroli with a slightly artificial raspberry. At first, it was hard to see the connection to my beloved siblings, until I realized its sweetness doesn’t come from honey, but from the flowers where bees land and the red fruits at just the right point, like an ode to spring. On me, it has good longevity and sillage; I can feel it all the time and it doesn’t evolve much. It’s not complex or scandalous; it’s for daytime in warm weather and maybe some outings that aren’t quite formal, but with elegance thanks to the neroli. It will be loved by those who adore white flowers and red fruits. It’s neither mature nor childish: it’s as joyful as spring. I recommend testing it on skin because, in my case, it was totally different on skin versus paper; it didn’t even seem like the same perfume. I recommend it.
Not a trace of that familiar DNA. It’s just a repeated floral; I feel like I’ve heard it in other perfumes before, and on top of that, it smells a bit old-fashioned. No real highs or lows.
A fruity floral with bitter orange, a touch of red berries, middle notes of neroli, and a very subtle orange blossom base. I tested it expecting honey, but there isn’t any. Everything is so well-balanced that no single note stands out. It’s a fun, youthful, carefree, and extremely feminine scent. It’s addictive, balanced, and has good longevity. It reminds me of Cacharel’s Scarlet (discontinued since 2010). It has fewer spices than Armani’s Way, with a red berry opening and is much fresher. You could almost buy it blind. I recommend it for its structure, what it represents, and because it outperforms its line in sillage and projection. Expanding my review a few days later: I found the hidden honey behind the fruity flowers. A whole intention of luxury and fun, joy, and elegance. The honey is discreet and fleeting, evolving into an almond-vanilla base, I think sandalwood, with a musk reminiscent of Dior’s Poison. It’s a masterful fusion between My Way, L’Internity, Scarlet, Poison, and the soul of Gautier perfumes. I’m amazed at how they blended styles with such coherence. I’m bowing down to its architecture, elegant sillage, longevity, and development. Is it original? That’s up to your own experience. It’s unpredictable, evolves, and settles in about three hours. It leaves a trail of vanilla, almond, and musk. It’s functional, elegant, and fun, easy to associate with memories. While it works for any occasion, I’d reserve it for special events.
I absolutely love it, honestly. But it barely lasts. I adored it when I tested it and they gave it to me for Christmas… I just wish it had better longevity.
For me, it was a no. I ordered it blindly trusting JPG, but the disappointment hit me at first sniff: synthetic raspberry that smells like red Halls candies, followed by pure nard and nothing else. I gave it two more chances in winter and spring, and something curious happened: I was swarmed by countless bees and wasps. I had to wash my neck and wrists, terrible. I don’t hate it entirely, but it has something (the nardos) that I just don’t like.
First impression: opens with sweet grape and then the white florals emerge, with jasmine as the star. Over time, the raspberry comes out and blends with a powdery and slightly milky touch. The trail is heavy, lasts hours, and is even a bit of a pest; I only sprayed it on my wrists. Its similarity to My Way is undeniable, but its performance is much better; over time, it resembles Good Girl Blush. I’ve liked and been impressed by it; it’s great for everyday wear.
Oh So Scandal, what can I say if you came to change everything? I’m biased, you know that. Since I first heard of it, it became a canonical moment in my life. I fell in love at first sniff, unlike the original which never won me over. I got so obsessed that now all my other perfumes wait their turn, but I always come back to So Scandal. The day I wear something else and think ‘I should have worn SS’, I realize its power. Sweet nardos, a tart raspberry note that smells like light grape juice, majestic white flowers, and a cozy, musky base that is absolutely delicious. It makes me happy, lifts my mood, and makes me feel feminine. I wear it day or night; my bond with it is so strong it kicked all my others to the curb. The only downside: it doesn’t last monstrously long, but hey, that means I can reapply it over and over again 😀 😀 😀 <3 <3
Super feminine and sexy perfume, smells like sweet fruit. Lasts forever on skin and clothes until you wash them. I absolutely love it and would buy it again and again.
Powerful fragrance with an impressive opening. I detect a citrus touch, then sweetness with raspberry. I was surprised by this flanker of Scandal; the original didn’t work for me, but So Scandal is something else entirely. It doesn’t smell like L’Interdit or its other derivatives on my skin. Great longevity and sillage. The box with the bottle featuring little legs is gorgeous. I bought it today, applied it, and when my husband arrived, he shouted: ‘You smell so good!’ That’s all.
A friend gifted me a sample of this perfume, and honestly, I was impressed. I’m not a huge fan of the original Scandal version, but this one I liked. It’s a sweet scent without being cloying, and thanks to the fruity tones, I consider it good and versatile. I would definitely buy it.
If you’re from Argentina, it’s better to use the Cherry perfume, as it smells the same.
It’s incredible to me that Maison Alhambra’s So Candid smells less synthetic than this one, even when compared side by side.
It’s horribly artificial; the first time I smelled it, I wanted to throw it away and forget it. It has nothing to do with L’Interdit; the neroli is very plastic, and the raspberry note (or its projection) felt extremely artificial. Seriously, try it before buying. On my skin, it felt awful, though it might be different for others, but the quality of the raw materials doesn’t seem very good.
I love the raspberry note it has.
It goes completely off the traditional Scandal line: those hyper-sweet perfumes invaded by honey that I find unbearable. It might have a synthetic raspberry note, but in the end, it’s a delicious fragrance. It doesn’t remind me of My Way at all. I own both, and they are worlds apart. In So Scandal, the neroli is barely noticeable, replaced by a playful, sparkling raspberry.
@maimai13 What perfume is Cherry?
I like the fragrance; basically, it smells like white flowers and raspberries. Honestly, the raspberry note is very artificial, but personally, I like it that way. My only issue is that it doesn’t last on my skin at all—maybe just 3 hours—and it lacks a good sillage; you only smell it if someone gets very close. It’s a sweet fragrance I’d recommend for autumn, winter, and even spring. Overall, it’s lovely, but I wish it lasted longer on my skin.
I had moved away from the Scandal line because Scandal and Scandal by Night didn’t work for me, but I decided to give this version a shot since people say it resembles My Way and L’Interdit. It does share white florals with both, but it’s different. The key lies in the raspberry and that milky phase of So Scandal. Although they don’t list honey or coconut, there is a light honey (not cloying) combined with coconut and white flowers. The scent is white florals where THE NEROLI stands out, mixed with something milky and honeyed. If you don’t like neroli or white florals, consider that in So Scandal they are crafted so well that you might actually enjoy them.
I started with a decant of So Scandal and my inexperienced nose swore it was My Way, but once I tried the full bottle, everything changed. My Way is sweet, sticky neroli—the ultimate ‘pretty girl’ scent. In So Scandal, the neroli is there at first, but as it dries down, the dynamic shifts: it blends with a prominent jasmine and a touch of orange blossom, all layered over that milky base that tames the overall sweetness. It’s less sweet than My Way but more powerful, with a completely different aura. That’s why I bought the bottle as soon as I could. For me, it’s sexy and bold, with great projection and an 8+ hour longevity. Avoid wearing it in extreme heat or apply it moderately, but for me, it’s a total yes. If you own one, the other isn’t redundant. So Scandal and My Way proved I love neroli. Both beautiful, both distinct.
I’ve been loving this perfume for a while; it could be my only one if I had to choose. It was love at first sniff; I thought about it a lot, imagined how it would smell, and luckily it was exactly as I imagined. I see they ask which one it resembles, and yes, it’s hard to say—it doesn’t resemble any of them. After knowing it for so long, I can say that for me, it’s closest in vibes to perfumes that want to smell like lipstick, but without being one. Those neroli blends with orange blossom and lactones create a smooth, silky, very modern mix, topped off with powdery raspberries (I’d say more cosmetic than artificial) that make it feminine and sexy, a perfume that dresses you up, enveloping, explosive, scandalous. As a colleague said, I also perceive honey; it’s what sweetens it, but it’s a soft honey, not cloying. I can’t say more, but if you don’t hate neroli, try it and stay until it dries down. This perfume was once hated by the widows of Scandal and Scandal by Night, but to me, it seems like a genius creation that stands on its own.
I love, adore, and am fascinated by this perfume from head to toe, and it’s because… finally JPG and wey, what can I say, its longevity and projection are super mega beastly. There is nothing more beautiful and wonderful than this perfume, I LOVE IT.
A super cute and cozy perfume where the raspberry, neroli, and jasmine are very clear. A feminine and precious composition, the kind that hugs you.
I hadn’t been able to test it until today when stock was restocked. After owning the original Scandal (which I couldn’t tolerate), I can now compare: they literally share the same DNA. It smells very similar, but this is much more tolerable; it drops a gear and is definitely better. It keeps that bitterness that I found excessive in the original, but here it’s softened. It has its charm and is the scent I’d recommend instead of the original, which is too much for me. This one is perfect: powerful, with personality, but wearable. Longevity and trail are maximum.
It’s more in the style of My Way, which I don’t like because it’s too floral, but this SOS Candela has the DNA of the classic Scandal with neroli. It’s sweeter when it dries down and leans more toward the Intense side. It’s rare that even though the other two don’t work for me, this one is my favorite. The raspberry is very noticeable in the opening; that’s what sets it apart. Incredible trail, feminine, and elegant. It has some of Libre Intense too. It feels like they threw a bit of everything together and created Scandal.
I’m obsessed!!! It’s sweet and super sexy. I always get compliments when I wear it. It lasts all day on my skin.
A feminine scent that, personally, doesn’t quite convince me—not because of poor longevity or projection (quite the opposite), but because it’s not my style. If you prefer fruity florals over citrus, you’ll probably love it. It performs well in all four seasons, though I prefer the intermediate months because after a few sprays it tends to become cloying and a bit invasive. Others will adore it, but I’ll stick with other feminine scents.
I already owned the original Scandal and found this last bottle among my mother’s perfumes. I thought I’d prefer it over the original since it lacks the licorice that used to make me dizzy, but this one loses the superpower of the other. The scent is wonderful; I really enjoy this type of blend: creamy white flowers with a hint of strawberry, perfect for humid summers. For me, it’s a safe bet with no real flaws.
Beautiful, sweet floral, and gourmand. I liked it much more than the classic EDP. It smells honeyed to me, even though honey isn’t listed in the notes, and the white floral side really comes through. I think this is one of those perfumes you can wear all year round. A masterpiece.
I bought this because it’s being discontinued in Spain and it’s so beautiful. It smells of sweet, medicinal, powdery raspberries bathed in neroli and milk. The longevity and projection are top-notch. I find it elegant, with an animalic touch and a salty edge similar to Scandal Le Parfum. What a pity that fragrances like this are disappearing…
