The fragrance is very well made and addictive, but it fails on longevity and sillage; it lasts longer on clothes. Still, I recommend it.

The notes don’t work for me: I detect bergamot, pepper, and a strong violet leaf scent.

At first, it seems like a simple, well-balanced fresh scent with citrusy bergamot and spicy notes, like 90s perfumes. Then it suddenly shifts: it starts as a summer walk by the sea, but later turns dark and claustrophobic, as if diving into the water and sinking to the bottom. The citrus and spices fade into the background while the ambergris, with its animalic touch, takes over. I suppose it’s synthetic, like ambroxan, which is why it sometimes smells like a less aggressive, chemical-free Sauvage. The plunge lasts about three hours before fading into a medium-sweet scent only noticeable when brushing against the skin. Maybe I’ll buy it on sale, but I think it’s better to have the fun of trying it than actually wearing it.
