Very poor projection and the fragrance disappears after a while.
Horrible fragrance, no wonder there are no reviews. It smells like an old lady’s hairspray. I bought it by mistake and am currently using it as a bathroom air freshener.
Horrible fragrance, no wonder there are no reviews. It smells like old lady hair lacquer. I bought it by mistake and now I’m using it as a bathroom air freshener.
It shocked me from the very first moment. I went in excited to get the Intense, but this has nothing to do with it. It smells like pine from the start until it dries down into cedar, which barely registers due to the lack of projection. On my skin, it lasts six hours and nothing more. I won’t be buying it.
A fragrance that shocked me from the start. I went in excited because I own the Intense, and this has nothing to do with it. It smells like pine from the very beginning until it dries down into cedar, but you barely notice it because it lacks projection. On my skin, it lasts 6 hours and nothing more. I won’t be buying it.
It’s a refined version of the classic Homme EDT. In the heart notes, I sense mint and eucalyptus, though they aren’t listed. On my skin, it’s a beast: it lasts a long time, projects well, and leaves a trail. The first day, I got compliments at work. Nothing like the new EDT Intense or the EDP; this is different, similar to the original but more polished. I recommend it.
Fabulous refined version of the classic Homme EDT. I notice subtle menthol and eucalyptus notes in the dry down, even though they aren’t listed. On my skin, it’s a beast in terms of longevity, projects well, and leaves a trail. The first day, I got compliments at work. Nothing like the new EDT Intense, which is heading in a different direction and is very similar to the new EDP. This one is quite different from its newer siblings, similar to the classic but more refined to my nose. I highly recommend it.
Today I bought this new version at an irresistible price, even though it has half the longevity of the old Kenzo Pour Homme (one of my favorites). So I made a comparison. It smells identical. The problem is that projection and longevity have dropped by about 20% in this new version. I’m sure they’re doing this to push you toward buying the Intense. I’m happy about the price, but if I had paid full value, I’d be frustrated. Look for the Kenzo with the old bottle before it runs out.
Holy smokes. I’ve never had to shower within a few hours because of such an unbearable smell. The friend who said it smells like old lady hairspray is right, but it’s like expired hairspray. HORRIBLE.
I’ve been testing this Kenzo Homme EDT for days, and it’s identical to the 1991 Pour Homme: aromatically the same. Contrary to other comments, on my skin it lasts longer than the original (though I have a 2021 batch that’s terrible). Since it’s the same fragrance, here’s my take: What does it smell like? I can’t quite put it into words; it’s an incredible chemical blend. At first, for moments, it smells like Pronto cleaner from Spain; after 5 minutes, it smells like hair lacquer or salon product (which is true, but I love it, it smells very clean). After 20 minutes, it evokes a fresh breeze among trees. I detect lemon at the start (agreeing with those who called it a lemony Cool Water), then a floral touch (rose or jasmine), and finally wet woods. It smells like calm before the storm. On my skin, it doesn’t smell like the sea, but rather a damp, tree-lined path with flowers in the early morning hours. I define it as a ZEN perfume: it transports you to a tranquil state. It’s not a scent that turns heads, but it’s very addictive. Scent: I love it. Longevity: 8/10. Projection: 7/10. My ranking of the Kenzo Homme line: 1. Kenzo Homme EDT, 2. Kenzo Homme Eau de Parfum, 3. Kenzo Homme EDT Intense. PERFUME ZEN.
I’ve been testing this Kenzo Homme EDT for days. It’s identical to the 1991 version. Aromatically, it’s the same. Contrary to other comments, it lasts longer on me than the original (though I do have a batch from ’21 that might be expired). Since it smells the same, I’ll give it almost the same review: What does it smell like? I don’t know. It’s an incredible chemical blend. At first, for moments, it smells like Pronto furniture polish from Spain. After 5 minutes, again, it seems like a hair product (like hairspray). Some say that and they’re right (but I love it; it smells very clean). After 20 minutes, it evokes a fresh breeze among trees. I get a hint of lemon at the start (a friend said it’s a lemony Cool Water, and I agree). Then comes the floral note (rose or jasmine) and finally the wet woods. It doesn’t disgust me, although it definitely smells like hairspray.
Kenzo Pour Home was my go-to fragrance forever, and I’ve already reviewed it. I grabbed this one by mistake during a sale, confusing it with the Intense. At first, it smells the same, but it’s not quite right. The original is authentic; this one feels like a soulless copy. The scent is similar but artificial. Neither the longevity nor the sillage match the 90s version, though it does last a long time on clothes. Whether you like it or not, the complaints that it smells like hairspray—I think you’re just lacking the right vocabulary. It’s fine for everyday wear and won’t scare anyone. At a good price, it’s reasonable, but it’s not something I’d actively seek out.
The original Kenzo Pour Homme was my reference fragrance, and I already have a review for it. This one, which I bought on sale and a bit by mistake (I confused it with the Intense), is very similar at the start but not identical: it has something that sets it apart. Lacking better words, the original seems ‘authentic’ to me, while this… feels like a replica lacking a point of truth. I don’t know what it is, but the scent, being very similar, seems artificial to me. Neither longevity nor sillage are the same as the 90s original, although it lasts FOREVER on clothes. It may please or not, but reviews mentioning hair lacquer probably lack the vocabulary to describe it properly. I think it’s a valid option for daily wear, fits many settings, and doesn’t ‘scare’ anyone. At a good price, it’s a reasonable option, but it wouldn’t be the perfume I’d seek out directly.
Reminds me of my university days in the early 2000s. It’s super youthful with a quirky touch that you’ll end up loving. One of my favorites for that carefree, energetic vibe.
It has nothing to do with its siblings in terms of scent, longevity, projection, or sillage! I don’t understand what Quentin was thinking creating it. I’m not worried about performance, but the scent: undefined and poorly assembled, like a cutting board with parsley and spices. It didn’t seem harmonious or useful for daily wear. Trying to resemble the Eau de Parfum doesn’t make it so. Only for true connoisseurs.

Good day, fragrance lovers. This is the 2022 re-version of the Kenzo EDT Original from 1991. It’s not a new fragrance; it’s practically the same with slight differences. I say this because I own both. The only thing they changed was the packaging and the bottle to fit the current line.
Good morning, fragrance enthusiasts. Here I bring you the 2022 reissue of the original 1991 Kenzo EDT. It’s not a new perfume per se; it’s basically the same with minimal nuances, something I know because I own both versions. The main update was the packaging and bottle to fit the rest of the collection. Cheers!
Good afternoon. Born in 1993, I love ’80s and ’90s fashion, so I looked for fragrances from that era. I landed on Kenzo pour Homme; although it’s a 2022 reformulation, it seems faithful to the original 1991 version. It smells marine and talc-like, slightly sweet without being cloying. Unfortunately, it doesn’t project or last as expected: after 2 or 3 hours, you barely smell it. Maybe in autumn or winter, with the cold, I’ll appreciate its longevity more.
Although I didn’t love it at first, after the first 30 minutes it becomes pleasant. I’m not a fan of mixing Calone and Calipsone with nutmeg, but then the patchouli and pine turn sweet and agreeable. As it dries down, the balance between sandalwood and cedar is perfect. It’s a fragrance that divides opinions: you either love it or hate it.
Smells clean, like hand cream, baby wipes, powder, and old soap (or fly spray, depending on how you look at it). Surprisingly pleasant. It’s super versatile and simply smells clean. I discovered it thanks to Carles Sabater from Sau; I saw a documentary where he wore it, and knowing this 2022 version is very similar to the 1991 one, I wanted to smell what it was like for him.
A decent fragrance that delivers. It opens marine and herbal, dries down nicely. Has moderate projection and sillage, ideal for heat. The strong point is the bamboo presentation, which is very original.
Bought blind with a curious first impression: smells like lotion, baby powder, or old soap. Not bad, but if you’re looking for something distinct, it might not be your cup of tea. The bottle is original, featuring a modern bamboo design with a secure cap. The scent is fresh, herbal, and slightly metallic due to the Calone and Calipsone notes. Then it blends with pine and patchouli, giving a familiar vintage air. As it dries down, sandalwood and cedar add masculine character and robustness. Performance is controversial: lasts 4 to 5 hours on skin with moderate sillage, more personal than expansive. Ideal for summer, fall, or spring. It’s not meant to stand out, but it’s rich, clean, and classic. I’m not regretting the purchase, though I’m not sure I’d buy it again.
They say it smells like fly spray, and if it has that chemical Baygon aftertaste, I see no future for it. I’ve tried it several times, and that odor sticks in my mind. While other Kenzo x Avon collaborations are wonders, this one didn’t convince me at all.
I bought it blind on 04/29/2025. The first thing I noticed was something curious: it smells very much like cream, talcum powder, or soap, a personal hygiene scent that isn’t bad, but might not please you if you’re not looking for that profile or if it’s not the right moment. The bottle is original and modern, inspired by cut bamboo, with a cap that holds up well to the weight. It’s super versatile and suitable for any age. Olfactorily, it comes out very fresh and herbal thanks to Calone and Calipsone, giving it an ozonic and metallic touch. Quickly it blends with pine and patchouli, classic notes in vintage perfumes like Polo Green that provide familiarity. As it dries down, sandalwood and cedar become more noticeable, adding a robust and masculine character. Its weak point is longevity: between four and five hours on the skin, with moderate projection that lasts about two hours outdoors, more personal than expansive. I recommend it for summer, although it works well in autumn and spring. It’s not meant to stand out; Kenzo simply modernized a classic with a slight scent change. It’s rich, clean, and masculine. I don’t know if I’d buy it again, but I’m not regretting it, I’ll enjoy it and maybe repeat the purchase.
If you judge a book by its cover, you’ll miss this gem. It’s 100% masculine, perfect for hot days with a vintage vibe I absolutely love. Reminds me of the ’90s version my dad used; it evokes joy and a fresh, elegant talc scent. Very enjoyable.
Clean and masculine, but disappointing: smells like wet wipes and doesn’t live up to the hype.
