Descripción
Olympéa Aqua by Rabanne is a floral aquatic fragrance for women. Launched in 2016, this composition was created by Fanny Bal, Anne Flipo, Dominique Ropion, and Loc Dong. The top notes reveal a marine freshness with Calabrian bergamot, orange, petit grain, and grapefruit. The heart unfolds a vibrant floral bouquet of ginger flower, orange blossom, jasmine, peach, and rose. The base settles on a warm and persistent accord of sea salt, vanilla, ambergris, cashmere wood, sandalwood, and benzoin.

I’m obsessed with this new Olympea: fresh, aquatic, versatile, youthful, and with good longevity. The moment you spray it, it hits you with a burst of energy, nothing cloying, ideal for hot climates where you want to refresh, not suffocate. Once it settles, it smells like white flowers, cotton, and the sea, which is exactly what it evokes for me. A top pick for summer and spring!
I love this new version of Olympea: fresh, aquatic, versatile, youthful, and with great staying power. The moment you spray it on your skin, you feel it instantly as a very revitalizing fragrance, nothing cloying, perfect for climates or seasons where we don’t need overpowering scents but rather refreshing ones. Once it settles on the skin, it leaves a lovely essence reminiscent of white flowers, cotton, and the sea… those are the elements it evokes for me. Definitely an excellent option for the summer and spring seasons!
Lovely fragrance by Paco. It reminds me a lot of Givenchy’s Amarige, but softer. On my skin, it lasts a long time, which doesn’t usually happen with fresh scents; well, only with DKNY’s Be Delicious. Highly recommended. Subtle and fresh without being childish.
It’s the same traditional Olympea but a summer version: fresher, less sweet, yet with the same longevity.
Finally, it’s in my hands! It’s as beautiful as Olympea, but Aqua is lighter and fresher… more summery. It has great longevity, just like Olympea, and I love both. On my skin, it smells like white flowers with a touch of vanilla. I own both versions, and they are distinct: Olympea is sweeter, while Olympea Aqua is more refreshing… I love both! Perfect for spring and summer. Highly recommended!

At first, I was hesitant because I’m not a fan of the original, but I received it as a Christmas gift and gave it a chance. It took my breath away; I was surprised. I didn’t expect such a different fragrance in my collection. I love it because, although I usually adore gourmands, this one is salty… yes, salty and aquatic, and that’s exactly what I love most. I would never have bought it myself, but I’m so happy to have it and I adore wearing it. It works for day or night; after a few hours, it becomes sweeter, but the salty notes create a wonderful contrast. Although it’s lighter than the original, the high quality is evident. It lasts forever on the skin, and I consider it perfect for women 25 and up. It smells like a sea breeze on the skin, elegant and sophisticated.

Out of all the Olympea fragrances I’ve tried, Olympea Aqua takes the crown. It smells just like the original but fresher, ethereal, and softer. The note selection feels like a stroke of artistic genius: the ambergris and sea salt make it unique, the ginger adds a spicy kick, while the vanilla and tangerine bring sweetness and versatility. It’s like a playful little imp jumping over the clouds of Mount Olympus. Its longevity and trail are flawless, just like the other versions. Paco Rabanne makes me want even more from their collection. ♡Scent: 10/10 ♡Trail: 9/10 ♡Longevity: 8.5/10
In my opinion, it’s an improved version of the original Olympea
Olympea Aqua is basically the same scent as the original perfume, just with aquatic notes that make it slightly less intense and geared toward spring and summer, but nothing more. It doesn’t convince me; for the same scent but softer, I prefer the original and just use less.
Olympea Aqua is the same Olympea scent but diluted with aquatic notes, a bit less strong, and designed so Olympea can be worn in spring and summer, but nothing more. It doesn’t convince me; for the same scent but diluted, I’d rather stick with the original and buy less.
I agree with the previous review that this is a ‘scaled-down’ version of the original Olympea for summer wear, and that’s precisely why I like it. The original seems like a wearable perfume for everyday life, but I don’t feel like using it in the summer; this one, however, with its citrus top notes, invites you to wear it more in the heat. The scent that remains after the first few minutes is exactly the same as Olympea but softened. The longevity is the same. Note that I’m talking about the 2016 Aqua, not this year’s version.
I agree with the previous review: it’s a ‘downgraded’ version of the original Olympea for summer wear, which is why I like it. The original is manageable for daily life but I don’t feel like wearing it in summer; this one, with its citrus opening, invites you to wear it in the heat. The scent after the first few minutes is the same as Olympea but softened. The longevity is the same. Note: I’m talking about the 2016 Aqua, not this year’s version 😉
I finished the original so quickly that now I’m deciding whether to buy this or the Intense. I don’t know what the Intense smells like, but at least I know what this is. The Aqua scent is persistent and striking; it’s not a typical ‘normal’ perfume, it’s distinct, and nothing else smells like it. I give it 10/10, along with the original. I just need to smell the Intense to decide on my next purchase.
The only Olympea I like. It has incredible longevity.
HONESTLY, WHY AM I STILL TRYING PERFUMES FROM THIS HOUSE? As soon as I put it on my wrist, I wanted to rip my arm off. Terrifying perfume. The worst part is that everyone on the street smells it the same. Definitely, Paco Rabanne doesn’t make my kind of perfume, and their men’s scents are even worse, one after another.
Fresh, aquatic, with a sweet touch and the essence of its older sister, the great Olympea. I love it, and anyone who smells it will too. It’s super feminine, for all ages. For me, perfumes have no age or season if used moderately (in summer, if you wear La Nuit Tresor, spray into the air and pass through a mist to leave a trail ► said by the Perfume Academy). If you like the original Olympea, you’ll like this too. It’s more wearable because it’s more aquatic. Excellent summer option. Greetings from wonderful Mendoza, Argentina
Fresh and aquatic, with a sweet touch reminiscent of the great original Olympea. I love it, and everyone who smells it loves it too. It’s super feminine and suitable for all ages. For me, perfumes have no age or season if used with moderation; in summer, I spray La Nuit Tresor into the air and walk through the mist so as not to overwhelm. If you like the original, you’ll like this too, but it’s much more wearable because it’s more aquatic. Excellent for summer. Greetings from Mendoza, Argentina.
Honestly, I don’t know why I keep trying perfumes from this house! As soon as I put it on my wrist, I wanted to rip it off. It smells terrible. The worst part is that everyone on the street smells the same. Paco Rabanne definitely doesn’t make perfumes for me, and forget the men’s ones, one is worse than the other.
I had the frosted bottle version, and it’s pure cleanliness. That scent makes me happy, puts me in a good mood—I simply love it. What a pity they reformulated it and it’s not as potent anymore.
I tried it for the first time yesterday. The opening is juicy, with that signature sweet-salty play of the line, lots of tangerine, like you’re scraping the peel. Weird that it’s not listed! Probably bergamot and orange. There was an acidic counterpoint, like caramel or candied peel. Within minutes it gets very sweet, too much for my taste, unlike classic Olympea. Twenty hours later, on the card, the dry down features ylang ylang talc, benzoin, and salt, with something fruity and creamy that could be ambroxan. I prefer this floral, less sweet finish. It’s complex, with great longevity and projection. I don’t get why they labeled it ‘Aqua’ instead of something reflecting the dose of orangey citrus it has.
Perfection! The opening has a sharp acidic touch, but then Olympea arrives—that scent I already know. Finally, the musk and salt close it out with something exquisite, exactly what I was looking for. I love it more than the original; it’s worth every euro you spend <3
My girlfriend loves fruity floral scents that are feminine and youthful; within that family, she especially enjoys white flowers (orange blossom and jasmine). Since she had her birthday, I stopped by the perfumerie and tested the Olympéa versions, and I liked this one. I knew she doesn’t like overly sweet scents, and this was fresher than the others. Result: she loved it, I loved it, and her family asked what she was wearing. Part of the perfumer team (Flipo, Ropion, Dong) also created aquatic florals like Armani’s Acqua di Gioia, which I gifted her too, though she liked this Olympéa Aqua more. It lasts much longer (it’s an eau de parfum légère), and I see it as finer and more versatile (I view the Armani as more summery). They create very harmonious, balanced, pleasant, and elegant fragrances. Also interesting, I think, is that the perfume includes something original; here I noticed they added ginger flower, which isn’t very common. As for seasons, I think it works year-round, performing best during the day. With vanilla, benzoin, and orange blossom blending so harmoniously, they achieve great versatility plus a relaxing, well-being effect. It’s very pleasant for personal enjoyment and for others; you won’t go unnoticed, but without being loud, with lots of delicacy and freshness.
The summer version of Olympea. Fresher and more versatile. Keeps the original’s DNA but combines it with citrus and aquatic notes. If you like the classic Olympea but find it too strong for summer, try this flanker.
Oh my god! I don’t know what magic ingredient it has, but it puts me in a great mood; I just feel happy wearing it. It’s been hard to find the 2015 version since the current one changed and I don’t quite like it. My favorite Paco Rabanne perfume.
The opening is a burst of citrus, jasmine, and lots of sea water (it has plenty of salt and feels aquatic). After a few minutes, neroli takes center stage with a citrusy touch, supported by salt and very soft jasmine. There’s a subtle ginger that bridges the flowers to a base of ambergris, very calm vanilla, and a hint of cashmere, making the perfume incredibly sensual. It’s linear, soft, sensual, and fresh, though short-lived (maybe 4 hours at best), but amazing for summer. In my opinion, it beats the Olympéa Aqua EDP in scent by a mile. The sad part is that it’s discontinued 🙁
What a great flanker! By far my favorite from the Olympea line since I love the original. This is its summer version at full blast. It’s a citrusy Olympea that keeps the first one’s DNA intact. Very wearable, with acceptable sillage for a citrus scent. I get compliments every time I wear it. Pro tip: wet your neck or take a shower before applying; it lasts much longer and the citrus notes really pop. If you enjoy the original, this is a blind buy you can’t go wrong with.
Again, the grapefruit note drowns out everything else on my skin. There’s something sweet hidden away, but it doesn’t stand out in the opening, which is almost bitter. Later it does become a bit sweet, like the original, and stops feeling so unisex, but it remains very fresh. Not for me.
It happens to me again: the grapefruit note leaves me feeling flat and drowns out everything else. At first it smells bitter, though later it turns a bit sweet like Olympea and loses that unisex vibe, but I still don’t see it in me.
The most comfortable, easy, and fresh version of the whole line 🤩 It makes you happy to wear it.
Not what I expected. It just smells very salty, almost metallic. On my clothes it smelled one way, and on my skin it was identical. I sensed a hint of the classic Olympea, but that metallic salty note lingers all the time. I thought the aquatic aspect would be more enveloping with the classic DNA in the heart. I tried it in winter; I’ll give it another shot in spring.
So delicious! Balanced, soft, citrusy, and sweet, with the original’s DNA clearly present.
Peach, vanilla, and salt: Starts with citrus and green notes, super fresh and youthful, lighter than the original. Then comes the aquatic vibe mixed with geranium and orange blossom, keeping the vanilla-salt DNA but much more transparent. In the dry down, juicy peach meets creamy white flowers—elegant and clean. It radiates perfect summer freshness for everyday wear in the heat. 9/10: rich, elegant, and highly enjoyable, though different from the original, it still keeps that salty essence in a creamy version.
