Yves Saint Laurent Manifesto is an oriental floral fragrance for women. Launched in 2012, this composition was created by Anne Flipo and Loc Dong. • It’s rich, and you can tell the good quality by its longevity on the skin, though I admit it’s very similar to the Dior Addict with the silver cap. It’s fresher due to a slightly powdery touch. This one can be worn during the day on cold autumn or winter days, while the other is exclusively for nighttime.

  • Perfumative

I like it a lot, and it feels very feminine. It doesn’t seem like a cloying perfume to me at all; I notice more its floral and woody sides than the vanilla.

  • Sofia Carbonell

This perfume is a must-have in my collection; I’ve already bought it twice and will keep doing so every time it runs out. The scent is very special and feminine, and the bottle is elegant. To me, it highlights the vanilla a lot, which I love.

  • Jesica La Roja

Regarding La plus belle, I understand what happens when a perfume has been exposed to the sun, wasn’t kept tightly closed, or is several years old. In other words, when it hasn’t been stored properly or has passed its expiration date.

  • Isabella.1992

It’s a delight with its own signature, an aroma that doesn’t get confused with anyone. Since they gifted it to me, it’s never been missing from my collection. It’s sweet, with prominent vanilla and blackcurrant. A charming and captivating perfume that speaks volumes about personality. I recommend it for cold days and only for evening wear.

  • Let’s start with this YSL gem, which seems aimed at a younger crowd with sweet tastes, moving away from classics like Opium or Paris. I’m glad they created a new line instead of stretching old names. The bottle has an air of sophistication and quality without being too flashy. As for the scent, this perfume ‘has class’ and balances vanilla better than few of its peers. It starts with refreshed berries lifted by green and lime notes for an airy opening. Then a sweetness grows slowly and elegantly, as if someone is dusting on soft, constant vanilla. Suddenly, flowers surround you—jasmine and lots of vanilla, but this time tamed, creamy thanks to sandalwood, and intense with tonka bean. That trio prevents it from being an absolute sweet and creates a well-orchestrated accord. It lasts about 6 hours with moderate projection at first and a more reserved trail afterward. The performance isn’t exceptional, but a few sprays let you modulate the intensity, which is great. Note: it’s not a vanilla cake or a powdery oriental vanilla; it’s balanced and different. Ideal for anyone seeking sweet, tender vanilla with a kick. It could be the elegant daughter of Dior Addict EDP Blue Night, keeping the familiar DNA. In short, it’s one of the few well-crafted vanillas, with restraint and distinction, at a reasonable price.

  • The fragrance is good, yes, but it felt too powdery to me. I didn’t finish it; by the halfway point, I was done with it. It has lots of vanilla, which I love, but I couldn’t figure out which note suddenly made me hate it.

  • I love Yves perfumes, and this is no exception. It’s super delicate, smelling of soft vanilla. It’s not for everyone, and it’s absolutely not cloying. After a while, the jasmine comes through, and it’s so delicious that people ask me what I’m wearing multiple times. It’s VERY SUBTLE, and as I said, not for everyone. It’s for a young, simple yet elegant woman whose jewelry is her perfume. I totally agree with Connie27’s review.

  • rafajurado

It’s a powerful fragrance, very vanilla and sweet. The initial green notes didn’t work for me, but it improves once it dries down. It has great longevity and projection.

  • The trail is top-notch and lasts about 6-7 hours on my skin, though it sticks around all day on clothes. It’s elegant yet youthful, suitable for any age. I see it more for fall-winter and evening wear, though it works during the day too. Perfect for elegant or semi-elegant events; it has class without losing freshness. The scent is citrusy and stays true from the start, with prominent green and blackcurrant notes at first, then evolving into jasmine, vanilla, and sandalwood. I imagine a bouquet of jasmine covered in blackcurrants and green leaves, drizzled with bergamot, over a base of powdered sandalwood and vanilla. I’d put this on Anne Hathaway as Mia Thermopolis in ‘The Princess Diaries’ because it blends that elegance with youth. I recommend it if you like citrus, vanilla, blackcurrants, and green notes.

  • I tried it because of the wonderful reviews it has, and I ended up with one of my biggest disappointments in the world of perfumes. To put it briefly, the first thing I thought of was grandma’s talcum powder and urine. I don’t know why it sat so badly with my nose, but I would definitely recommend not buying it without trying it first; it’s not for everyone.

  • La plus belle

Definitely, these perfumes aren’t for everyone, haha. It doesn’t smell like grandma, or anything else… And if it smells like grandma… what a delight! I would have loved to smell like my grandma.

  • A vanilla perfume with powdery touches of white flowers. It presents a sweet scent, with an ethereal vanilla that gives way to a very feminine, spicy jasmine. I didn’t pick up on the woods. It’s quite linear, but lasts hours on the skin and has a good trail. In my humble opinion, it’s not made for young people; it has the character for a mature, effortlessly stylish woman. It’s out of place and clashes at formal events or galas. It’s perfect for wearing to work or going out for drinks with friends. Those who perceive the scent find it gentle. It’s not revolutionary nor will it generate hatred. In short: a pleasant and well-structured fragrance. The downside is that it gets confused with other vanilla scents, but so what? It produces a lot of well-being to wear it. That said, it’s for use in cold temperatures; in spring or summer, with the heat, it gets distorted.

This perfume is a scent of memory, like seeing (or smelling) another fragrance reflected in a blurry mirror: Britney’s Fantasy, which sparked my love for scents and caused me to lose several bottles and my allowance when I was twelve. I used to shower with it until I ran out, announcing my outings to my mom even in pajamas; before lipstick and skirts, Fantasy was my introduction to social rituals. When I sprayed Manifesto, I felt that same fruity marshmallow vanilla, here less sweet and more powdery, more mature. I’d take Créme de Cassis over kiwi candies, and it makes me hear Lana Del Rey instead of Britney. I’m not sure what to think of Manifesto; for me, I’d call it ‘Tribute’. I love the nod to that endearing perfume from my adolescence; having it in my collection is like having a note stuck to my fridge door reminding me of something stored but frozen in the archives of memory. Still, if I wear it, it manifests nothing more than some subliminal sign of my own Peter Pan complex.

  • Mr Landaulet

The most ironic, surprising, and least thought-out option: to be honest, I never thought this fragrance would cross my path, especially considering its 8 or 9-year history, whether due to its bad reputation as part of the ‘L’Oréal era’ or being seen as a questionable-quality, cloyingly sweet feminine fragrance. However, on Christmas Day at noon, looking for a birthday gift for my mom (I couldn’t find anything earlier due to work and lack of time), I went to the largest department store. I was looking for the classic YSL Paris that my mom couldn’t find in 30 years. The sales associate told me it was out of stock and offered Mon Paris or Black Opium, but I said no because I didn’t like them, much less for my mom. As a last resort, she offered the only YSL Manifesto left on a shelf. I tested it on a blotter and on my skin; at first, it didn’t convince me, then I liked it a bit because it evolved in an acceptable way. I went to other brands but found nothing good, so resigned, I returned to YSL to buy that single Manifesto. As the saying goes, ‘in this life, everyone deserves at least one chance’. I spent between $105 and $110, like flipping a coin, with the risk that my mom might not like it. On my skin, it developed well and I liked it quite a bit; the blackcurrants, vanilla, and cedar were the ingredients I perceived most. I consider it tasty, curious, full of charm, charisma, and personality, with very good longevity (it lasted 12 hours on my skin with a good trail). I arrived home uncertain if my mom would like it. When I showed her the gift, she loved receiving it at first. The question was whether it would work with her skin. Fortunately, everything turned out better than expected; on her, the longevity and trail were much more noticeable and pleasant than on me. I’m incredibly glad I gave YSL Manifesto a chance. I have no regrets, it was a good decision, worth every penny, and it made me happier than expected. Long live Manifesto.

Literal is very beautiful, although it doesn’t seem youthful… well, I like it. I tried it today and it opens with a totally addictive citrus note that fills emotional voids, something that already happened with Black Opium and other YSL perfumes. I think it has that spark that reminds me of the brand, since the few I’ve tried have something in common, even though the essence changes. At first, it seems sour or not very sweet, but over time it becomes sweet, like a latte, approaching the vibe of Wanted Girl but without the marked tonka vanilla note. It recalls Amethyste by Ulric de Varens in its initial sweet coffee and vanilla notes, then moves to finishes that, from time to time, remind me of Good Girl, but it’s much softer and flirty, leaving me chilled. It surpasses that scent by a mile. It’s elegant, sweet, and versatile; I see it more for cold climates, even more than Black Opium, for day and night. It also has similarities to Dancing Night, but with more softness. For now, these are my first impressions; I’ll update the review when I know it better, but I’d rate the age range as twenty and up, for formal or semi-formal settings. It doesn’t bother or annoy anyone. I would definitely buy it. By the way, does the bottle look like a candy?

  • Eli_k_eli

One of the most exquisite, subtle, and elegant vanillas I’ve smelled in a long time. It’s a pure balance: very sweet but without being overwhelming, annoying, or suffocating. It has that just-right sweetness that is rich, enveloping, and warm, provoking the desire to smell it often without causing discomfort. As a lover of sweet perfumes, I know some intense ones tire me out, but this is perfect. It’s very feminine, elegant, flirty, and refined; it has a tender side and a sensual one, enchanting yet delicate, never invasive or loud, but attracting subtly. It’s not for teenagers, but for a woman with personality who doesn’t need to be the center of attention constantly. I fell in love at first sniff, and although it’s hard for me to get fascinated by scents, this is total love. It will become one of my favorites. In a nutshell: Manifesto is pure quality.

  • A sober and exceptional scent: it opens with an elegant fruity note that transitions into a soft floral heart without being intrusive, enhanced by a sweet touch from the creaminess of sandalwood and vanilla. The base has a slight powdery nuance that adds maturity; I see this as ideal for those over 35, seductive and perfect for romantic dates or special nights. Its projection isn’t beastly but leaves a trail and lasts a long time. In short: soft, discreet, elegant, and very pleasant. I absolutely love it.

  • Naluapilar

I love its raspberry note. It has freshness and presence at the same time; it’s sweet without being cloying, which allows for a wide age range. I see it as suitable for almost all year round, except in excessive heat. It’s very versatile and has good longevity.

  • MissOlores

My skin is very particular and I can’t change it. The perfume gets ‘eaten’ by it, leaving only a very faint creamy vanilla trail perceptible at skin level after two hours. I can’t notice anything special or anything that truly captivated me.

  • Danielle_Gris

It’s a creamy vanilla, slightly fruity, with a hint of green. The opening is well-defined juicy, ripe black currants with a green touch. Then it’s just sweet vanilla, a bit bakery-like but not cloying, with a touch of white bells. More wild than opulent. It doesn’t seem super original or have a standout feature, but I don’t know what it has that I can’t stop smelling. I even liked it more than Libre, because Manifesto has less of a ‘trendy’ personality, less flashy, but full of charm. It lasts 4-6 hours with a moderate to soft trail.

  • camilaeloisa

I bought it two years ago at 28 in winter and couldn’t stand it. Today, at 30 and in spring with the heat, I tried it again to see how it changes with the season and temperature. I was surprised by how it manifests now: I feel that creamy vanilla from the reviews and add a small warm floral note that invites you to get closer. It’s warm, subtle, yet potent.

  • OMG, what a masterpiece. Powerful vanilla, very present amber, and an elegant woody touch. The bottle is a beauty, elegant and classy. I don’t think it’s for daily wear; it’s potent and can be a bit overwhelming. For me, it’s an empowered woman’s perfume, with character. Sensual, nocturnal, it never fails. One of my favorites.

  • It was a blind buy. To my nose, it smells like Nivea vanilla body cream; over time, the sweetness of the black currant comes out more, and the bergamot goes unnoticed. It’s an ode to mature, powdery, creamy, and woody vanilla, accompanied by white flowers that create a creamy and powdery masterpiece. Very delicious once it settles and leaves that cream scent.

  • anabanana

I came to say it reminds me of Britney’s Fantasy, but more mature and perfect (and I see others agree). I love it; I wore it on my trip to Paris. I like doing that: remembering a place through the chosen scent. It was perfect for the occasion.

  • What can I say about this perfume that does it justice? That it’s another YSL masterpiece? That even though it’s woody, it blends perfectly with black currant and vanilla? That it’s an ode to elegance? That it’s splendidly sophisticated? Nothing is enough. Manifesto says I am unique and powerful, the most sensual, the brightest star, all that and more in a bottle shaped like a woman. In short, it’s on a higher step reserved for the best.

  • A rich perfume, very well balanced between a dry, green opening and a dry, vanilla-musky base from the wood. I see it as elegant and sober, adapting to any situation. It lasts about 4-5 hours with a light trail on the skin. It’s not a bomb, nor a vanilla bomb, nor masculine. The bottle reflects its essence: sobriety, elegance, and femininity.

  • MINERVparfums

Manifesto is a tribute to elegance, femininity, and sophistication. It opens fruity, moves into an elegant and seductive floral heart, and settles on a creamy sandalwood and vanilla base that gives it a powdery touch. It’s one of the most exquisite and subtle vanillas I own. Sweet in just the right amount, pleasant, and enveloping, totally addictive. I love gourmand and sweet scents, but sometimes the intense ones tire me out; this is perfectly balanced and never annoying. It’s very feminine, elegant, coquettish, and refined, with a sweet, tender, and sensual side, yet delicate and never invasive. It attracts subtly. In short: a lot, but not too much. If you like sweets and don’t own it, you’re missing out in the perfume world.

  • To seduce: spectacular scent and trail, lasts forever, and you can smell it when you move. It’s heavy, super feminine, and attracts everyone; I’ve received so many compliments asking what I’m wearing. Incredible for all seasons, a true powerhouse. I love it.

  • Mariana Mice

Where do I start? I’ll be brief: it’s seductive and super elegant. The vanilla is very present but not heavy at all, and the amber is what gives it personality. This fragrance makes me feel like I’m in Paris.

  • MY FIRST WOODY PERFUME. I remember the first time I bought Manifiesto, I was thrilled; I was a teenager and it was my first ‘adult’ smelling perfume. I’d never had a woody one before, I felt incredible every time I wore it. I knew absolutely nothing about perfumes back then; I smelled it because I liked the bottle and thought, ‘wow, this has to be mine.’ Smelling it today, I realize it was more of a vanilla scent, which is why I loved it so much, and I still do. It seems like a super different vanilla compared to the mass-market ones today. A super fresh gourmand vanilla with that wood note that drives me crazy. Today I also notice the blackcurrants add a lot. It’s super versatile, suitable for any season, though autumn is the perfect one for me. It was one of my first loves and still is; I’d love to have it back in my collection.

  • It’s very similar to Dolce & Gabbana The One Intense and Illa Laços. Are they the same? No, but they share the same vibe: a vanilla for an elegant, intense woman. It’s not for those looking for something subtle. I like it, but it needs to be quite cold so it doesn’t feel heavy on me. The Millanel alternative is very well done for those who wanted to try this.

  • Grace 1973 uy

With this fragrance, after a couple of years, it became super concentrated and I couldn’t keep using it; I was heartbroken, it never happened to me before.

  • WineAndRoses

My grandma had a small 3ml tester of Manifiesto on her nightstand, and I was blown away. I smelled it and thought, ‘this is such a special scent.’ It’s been a long time since something like this happened to me… Definitely mine. 🍷

  • charlotinable

WOOOOW, SIMPLY DELICIOUS! It screams glamour and sophisticated beauty. It’s a rich milky vanilla very much in the style of Emporio Armani and Kenzo Amour. It doesn’t smell exactly like either, but that creamy, milky vanilla is the key. It has a woody, powdery finish that’s very seductive and elegant. I’ve only noticed the dry down notes: sandalwood, vanilla, tonka bean, and cedar, enough to enchant me. What an exquisite delight!

  • Exquisite, refined, and super sophisticated. It manages to step away from heavy trends. It’s for someone comfortable with being different. I even like it more than L’Elixir (which I also bought). It’s clearly a winter scent, better for the night. Delicate with average longevity; nowadays, perfumes that last from morning to night are few and far between. And I love the bottle.

  • I feel like this fragrance doesn’t deserve all the love the others get. Its scent is very particular and elegant. It’s definitely one of my favorites.

  • DaviniaTolkien

Does anyone confirm what I smelled? The vanilla smells about 90% like Black Opium, which makes sense since it’s from the same house. I’m not sure if the tester was faulty or super macerated, but it constantly reminded me of BO (minus the coffee). Does anyone know if they actually delisted it? 🤔
