Descripción

Roses & Chocolate by Mancera is a floral fruity gourmand fragrance for men and women. Launched in 2013, this composition was created by perfumer Pierre Montale. The top notes unfold a vibrant accord of peach, blackcurrant, mandarin, and bergamot; the heart reveals the sensuality of dark chocolate, rose, and violet; while the base notes land on a warm foundation of vanilla, white musk, and cedar.

  • It’s very strong right after application and actually kind of turns me off, but once it dries down, it smells amazing. I can clearly detect the roses and cocoa; it smells like perfumed Nutella. I don’t pick up any fruit or wood notes. I have a 25ml decant, and honestly, I wouldn’t buy the 120ml bottle, but it’s great for daily wear since it’s not intrusive.

The opening is a boom of milk chocolate, and within seconds, a ripe red rose appears. As it dries down, the musk feels great and lasts even after washing the clothes. It’s a soft but present musk, not the overpowering one common in Mancera scents; it smells clean. On me, it lasts 2 hours with good projection, but then it fades terribly and I can barely detect it, which is a tragedy. I sold it and bought it back. I use it on cold days, and now it projects and fixes much better.

Ever since I applied it, it reminded me of something edible, but I didn’t realize until I read an English review mentioning that the chocolate blends with orange—it’s exactly like the Choco Naranja made here in my country. I absolutely love Roses Chocolate! It’s sweet and creamy.

Since I apply it, it reminds me of something edible, but it wasn’t until I read reviews in English that someone mentioned the chocolate mixes with orange—it’s exactly like the Choco Naranja they make in my country. I absolutely adore Roses Chocolate! It’s sweet and creamy.

The opening is boozy and can be overwhelming, but as it settles, it leaves that bitter chocolate note that dominates the rest. The trail and longevity are beastly.

The opening is boozy and can be overwhelming, but as it settles, that bitter chocolate note takes over everything. The trail and longevity are absolutely beastly.

  • This perfume doesn’t convince me; its chocolate opening feels weird and annoying, not like appetizing chocolate. I do like the dry down because it reminds me of YSL’s Manifesto EDP. It has a moderate trail and lasts 4 hours on my skin, which is too little for a Mancera.

Look out, this is a gem in perfumery that nobody talks about. A friend gifted me a decant and said she treasured it like a treasure, and she’s absolutely right. When you apply it, the chocolate shines not just in scent but with that oily sheen it leaves on the skin. The opening smells like toasted seeds with hints of blackcurrant, and once it dries down, the rose is very noticeable! To me, it’s a mix of roses, violets, and chocolate. The longevity is beastly; I put it on in the morning and can still smell it the next day.

Watch out, this is a perfumery gem that nobody talks about. A friend gifted me a decant and said she treasured it like a treasure, and she’s absolutely right. Upon application, the chocolate shines not just by scent but by that oily layer it leaves on the skin. In the opening, it smells like toasted seeds with flashes of blackcurrant, and as it dries down, the rose becomes incredibly prominent! For me, it’s a mix of roses, violets, and chocolate. The longevity is beastly; I put it on in the morning and can still smell it the next day.
