Rise by Beyoncé

I bought it blindly because it was associated with Manifesto and has some resemblance, but honestly, it doesn’t stand out. It’s a common perfume with poor longevity and sillage; you need to reapply every 3 hours. However, the dry-down on the skin is amazing—very vanilla and sweet, almost edible. It reminds me of the classic Her Secret by AB, also sweet and pleasant. Anyway, I’m selling it because it’s not worth keeping; I’d rather someone else enjoy it.

I have to say, I wasn’t very hopeful about Rise, but its woody dry-down left me speechless. On my skin, it lasts about 6 hours, and for the price you can get it, it’s too good. The sillage and longevity are moderate.

Smells super fresh with a very prominent citrus opening where bergamot takes the lead; on my skin, it smells like green lemon zest. As it settles, the wood and musk come through. The downside is that it fades completely in about two hours, so you need to reapply. I’m not usually a citrus fan, but I loved this despite its short longevity. Perfect for summer.

Beyoncé’s Rise surprised me with how rich, fresh, and easy to wear it is. It’s casual, cheerful, and cozy. It opens with bergamot, blackcurrant, and basil, giving it an interesting character. The heart features orchid, sambac jasmine, and freesia. The dry-down is delicious: cashmere wood, musk, vetiver, and woody notes. Launched in 2014 by nose Loc Dong, I bought it blind and absolutely loved it. The bottle is pretty, and for the price, it’s worth carrying a small rollerball in your bag for reapplication. It lasts about 4 hours with moderate sillage. It suits any daytime weather, is cheerful, fun, and lifts your mood.

Another blind buy. I have to say I loved the scent and it was very reasonably priced. The thing is, I’m not sure if it’s my pH or something else… but for me, it doesn’t last at all and has no projection. It leaves a soft scent, and I have to reapply after a few hours.

I tried it because I was intrigued by its resemblance to YSL’s Manifesto; a friend of mine wears it and I couldn’t tell them apart, but after testing Rise, I must confess it could fool me—it’s the same. It’s my friend’s scent. It’s very pleasant, very affordable, and ideal for daily wear. If you like Manifesto, whether you own it or not, it’s a smart buy. An avianilla, floral, and sweet fragrance. Recommended.

The bottle is gorgeous with a very elegant gold cap. The scent is excellent, similar to Itxaso GM: it smells very much like YSL’s Manifesto but much cheaper. To me, it reads as floral, fresh, and woody, all in a balance that surprised me. I bought the small size to test it, and if I like it, I’ll get the large one. Tried it today and several people asked what perfume I was wearing, saying it looked elegant. It evolves from fresh to sweet floral, then turns spicy and woody. I recommend it for people who aren’t too young; I’m in my early forties.

I had low expectations, but after trying it today, ¡sorpresaaa! It’s very similar to Yves Saint Laurent’s Manifesto. I’m not saying they’re identical or that this is the daytime version, but they’re so alike that after a few hours, I can smell the base notes, and technically I’m not sure if that’s accurate, but to my nose, they seem identical. Looking at it now, they share woody notes, bergamot, and jasmine, so there’s some truth to it. To me, the opening feels more floral than Manifesto, fresher (which is probably why they categorized it as floral), but they end up very similar. Yes, it’s a bit sweet, but not oriental. As for longevity, I’d say it lasts about 3-4 hours at most, but given the price, it’s worth it. I was genuinely surprised.
