Descripción

Emporio Armani Lei by Giorgio Armani is an oriental floral fragrance for women. Launched in 1998, this composition was created by perfumer Daniela Andrier. The top notes unfold with lime, neroli, bergamot, pear, mandarin, and pineapple; the heart reveals heliotrope, iris root, jasmine, and valley lily; while the base notes complete the structure with sandalwood, vanilla, musk, almond, tonka bean, cedar, and amber.

  • Brings back memories of a trip. Smells elegant with vanilla and citrus. The base is vanilla, but dry and not cloying. Highly recommended.

  • Delicious, soft, and sensual aroma. I discovered it through a friend. Sandalwood blends with vanilla and fruity-floral echoes. Even though it’s not popular, it’s one of the best feminine scents I’ve ever smelled.

  • jackycuatro

Exquisite: fresh citrus notes settling into subtle vanilla and wood. Elegant and sophisticated, truly one of a kind. Lasting power and sillage are excellent; perfect for clothes and special occasions in spring and summer.

  • Reminds me of Cacharel Noa. I found it again at a small perfume shop; the reunion after years was more than pleasant.

  • Kather Aguirre

Very peculiar scent: starts with lime and lemon, but dries down to talc—very soft and unique, without smelling like baby powder.

  • Lucero Hellux

Delicious. I’ve worn it since I was young, and if I were a fragrance, this would be me. Citrusy at first, then evolving into a soft sandalwood. Sensual, mysterious, and incredibly intriguing.

  • It’s magnificent, exquisite, rich, elegant, and durable… perfect. All the notes are in harmony, seeming to leave space for each other to be enjoyed. Sandalwood and vanilla wrap the fruity notes without taking away their freshness, and tonka bean and amber don’t overwhelm the flowers; all show their beauty. The result is masterful. Thanks, Sophie Labbe.

  • Hi, I’m new here though I’ve been reading reviews for years. My first one is for my signature perfume. Emporio Armani She is a soft, light EDP, nothing intrusive, and very tender. It’s a delicate and subtle vanilla oriental. It’s cataloged as elegant and chic, associated with office women, but also with a simple, correct, and clean woman, not too serious. It’s not ‘femme fatale,’ but rather clothes a woman with her own style. It’s my fragrance of highest identification along with Cacharel Lou Lou: more potent than the latter, less reserved, but both fun, talcum-like, and vanilla orientals. Normally I’d do it the other way around: Lou Lou for everyday and Emporio Armani She for special occasions, formal events where you don’t want to bother anyone. It’s an all-rounder that will never leave you looking bad. I fell in love when it was born in 2008, and now it can’t be missing from my wardrobe. Pity the sillage is weak; it’s very skin-scented and doesn’t last many hours on me; you have to reapply. The sprayer isn’t one of the best either; it doesn’t spray in a mist but directly, which doesn’t convince me. The bottle is a minimalist metal cylindrical flask. Cons: you can’t see how much is left. Pros: perfect for the bag and travel, withstands bumps. It’s very practical and I love it except for the sprayer. Its note combination is exquisite. Like Lou Lou, they aren’t for everyone; they have to catch you. Both have an addictive doll-like smell.

  • When I bought it, I was looking for something ‘special,’ distinctive, and more for night than day. A friend recommended it to me; when I smelled it, it didn’t call to me much because I’m not a fan of citrus, but when I applied it, surprise: the citrus faded and vanilla came out, mmm. Then amber and talc appeared, and I bought it again. I’d describe it as something that makes me feel original and present without being annoying. The sillage is soft, but it’s not less durable. An excellent perfume to draw attention or complete an elegant outfit.

  • VainillaDulce

Emporio Armani is gorgeous, soft but persistent, it sticks to the skin, subtle and very chic. It’s very versatile and looks good at any time. The opening has a citrus party with pineapple, then heliotrope drops in, followed by natural direct vanilla from the pod, tonka bean, fantastic sandalwood, and amber. After an hour, it turns talcum-like, dominated by sandalwood and vanilla. With Emporio Armani, you can’t go wrong; it’s pleasant and discreet.

  • Natalylopez

A soft, elegant, and slightly unisex scent. It’s like using a luxurious spray deodorant, with a subtle touch of powder, citrus, white flowers, and vanilla. I wore it for a season during hospital rotations and received many compliments asking for the name. The bottle with that nude metallic tone is visually attractive.

  • Delicious! It’s soft, tender, warm, romantic, and subtle. It makes me feel special and lasts all day. Its scent becomes talcum-like over time, which fascinates me. The only bad thing is it doesn’t have great sillage; it feels like a skin scent, which takes away points. I can’t distinguish the notes much, but it’s my favorite so far. I highly recommend it if you like warm, soft, and talcum scents.

  • If I want to feel old, I put on the Emporio Armani Lei and Lui ad with Massive Attack’s ‘Angel’ in the background and think: ‘Is this what it was like twenty years ago?’ I didn’t use the men’s version, but I loved the women’s; many girls in my group wore it alongside sweet talcs like Cacharel Noa or Kenzo Flower. Of the three, Lei is my favorite (Flower and Noa give me angst from the musk). You have to position yourself at the right time to appreciate these Armani disruptors. They shouted ‘Generation Y’ to those born in the late seventies and early eighties, offering modern products with the quality of the older generation. Both the campaign and the design speak of the late nineties and early 2000s: cyber aesthetic, slow computers, primitive chats, minimalism, steel, and silver. Two opaque cylindrical bottles that fit together, with an aluminum feel that turned into soft rubber on the sprayer, like touching a sexualized robot. Armani, being the second line, always had personality; its logo has fascist reminiscences, and its neat, sporty clothes evoke any totalitarian empire’s obsession with healthy, beautiful youth. That style overlapped with the cyber idea, and voila, a hit. Lei is still selling and was never overwhelming; it’s skin-scented but with good longevity. Dry vanilla, not gourmand; sandalwood with exotic wood nuances and vanilla-heliotrope that persist until the end. Shortly after, it becomes talcum-like, sweet but not gourmand, natural, dry, and woody, with those youthful vinyl nuances. What girl in 1998/2000 wasn’t amazed by this? It cut through the soft florals and orientals of the nineties. This smelled expensive, like a minimalist music video, and like youthful sex. I tried it recently, not only did I like it, but I wanted a small bottle. Plus, over time it has surpassed its feminine condition and is very unisex, thanks to that dry vanilla and sandalwood that give it androgyny.

  • If I want to feel old, I watch Armani Lei ads and listen to Massive Attack. I loved the feminine version, along with Noa and Kenzo Flower. Without a doubt, my favorite of that trio. They were groundbreaking, shouting ‘Generation Y’ with cyber aesthetics, minimalism, and bottles that fit like a puzzle. The aluminum feel and soft spray nozzle left me amazed. Lei was never overwhelming, lasts well, and smells of dry vanilla, sandalwood, and heliotrope. Natural sweetness, sophisticated, and vinyl-like. What girl in 1998/2000 didn’t fall in love with this? It cut through the floral scents of the nineties, smelling expensive, like a music video, and youthful sex. After years without trying it, I liked it even more and noticed it has become unisex thanks to that dry vanilla and androgynous sandalwood.

  • Excellent what Spartaco said; I agree 100%. I’m amazed that vanilla is the undisputed main note, yet thanks to a masterful blend, it’s not sweet but fresh. Admirable. My wife has it, and I think it’s unisex, which is rare in her collection since I have fragrances that smell more feminine. Looking back with nearly two decades of distance, you can see the era’s aesthetic in the bottles and campaigns; everything feels very ‘Matrix’ or ‘Aeon Flux’. Quick examples: the Emporio and Boss in Motion duo, Ultraviolet, Gucci Rush, Echo by Davidoff, CK Crave, 212, Cacharel Nemo, Kenzo Air, etc.

  • I’ve been wearing it for years in autumn and winter, and I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of it. This winter I tried Satine by Lalique, but I’m already missing it.

  • Always caught my eye, but in perfumeria it never spoke to me; I could barely smell it. I realized testers are often ruined and useless; I made more mistakes following reviews than actually testing in-store. However, seeing it at a great price, instinct took over and I nailed it. It’s addictive, original, and I love that clean, almost masculine hygiene touch that makes it perfect for daily wear. I don’t know how I lived without it. The only downside is it has no sillage and doesn’t last long on my skin, so I’ll have to restock soon. I’m drinking it up. By the way, smelling it brings images of shaving foam and a fresh lemon-lime Coca-Cola.

  • It always caught my eye, but perfumeries didn’t say much about it. I think the testers are usually ruined. I bought mine for the price, and my instinct was right. It’s addictive and original. I love that clean, masculine, urban touch for everyday wear. I don’t know how I lived without it. The only downside is it has no sillage and doesn’t last long on my skin. I’ll have to restock soon; I’m going through it fast. Edit: smelling it brings me to mind shaving foam and a fresh lemon-lime Coca-Cola.

  • I totally agree with the previous comment; it smells like a barbershop or a men’s massage product, but very fresh. Completely unisex. When you first wear it, the word ‘cleanliness’ immediately comes to mind.

  • I feel this perfume is totally unisex: woody citrus with a very subtle touch of vanilla that adds sweetness without being overwhelming, perfect for hot seasons. The only thing I didn’t like was the opening, which reminded me a bit of an air freshener, but that sensation fades quickly. Highly recommended 100%.

  • weraevaelena

This fragrance brings back memories of high school. It was trendy, and a close friend used it. I don’t love the opening, which is a bit citrusy and strange for my nose, but the dry-down is very comforting; the blend of vanilla, sandalwood, amber, and tonka is soft, warm, and enveloping. I think it’s suitable for casual day or night wear in cool weather. Add-on: excellent longevity, I was really surprised. I felt its clear and strong presence for at least 10 hours. Thumbs up!

  • pamela perfumera

It has great longevity and lovely notes. I like it. It gives me a sense of cleanliness and neatness, you know, someone who looks good in any occasion. It’s like a versatile perfume, not intrusive; it wouldn’t bother anyone even if you over-applied it. I see it for daily, casual wear, for the office, you name it. Its opening awakens the senses, somewhat refreshing and masculine, and after a few hours, its dry-down, which I’d describe as powdery, inspires tenderness and stillness.

  • What a memory! The tactile vision of a good college friend wearing it during our early university years. This Armani smells like pure class and cleanliness: it felt warm, polite, and yet incredibly distant at the same time. I can’t quite define it because I haven’t smelled it on anyone in ages; in fact, I’m not even sure if it’s still being sold. But it’s a fragrance that makes me imagine porches on a seaside cabin, Christmas gifts, makeup-free faces, peace, and pleasant boredom.

  • Divine. The problem is that on my skin, it doesn’t last more than half an hour, and that’s a huge issue because I love it but I like it to last. But every problem has a solution, and while searching, I found this perfume, which seems to be the men’s version since it’s exactly the same and only changes one or two notes, and it lasts… even after washing your hands. I’d recommend that it lasts longer on the skin.

  • Along with Kenzo Amor, these are the scents I identify with 100%: feminine, subtle, yet with excellent longevity. (And I love that powdery vibe). Anyway, I never detect the citrus notes in this; it’s curious how perfumes change based on skin pH. Something similar happens with lipstick (intensity changes with every woman). Although I’ve had times when I didn’t want to wear it, I always come back to it. I really like it.

  • A soft perfume with excellent longevity; MariaBonita describes it very well. Everyone’s pH is different, and along with whether you apply it to clean skin, that will determine the duration. That powdery yet creamy scent, the almond notes, I absolutely love in my perfumes. It’s no longer available like it used to be.

  • Beautiful, elegant, and sophisticated; fresh and sweet with a citrus note I can’t quite explain. I haven’t had this in ages, but I remember it so refined. It’s not overpowering, featuring tonka bean, almonds, musk, vanilla, and cedar; a wonderful blend. Unfortunately, I recall it didn’t last long, so I carried it everywhere to reapply. It was a gift from my brother, and I need to get my hands on it again.

  • LulaFlower

This was one of my first fragrances. I was a 15-year-old girl dreaming of becoming a sophisticated woman. I visited several perfume shops searching for a scent that made me feel identified, and I ended up buying this with my savings. The Spartacus review is fantastic; I completely agree and have little else to add, except that I tried it again today after almost twenty years, and it barely lasts on my skin (curious, because when I used it, I could smell it all day). I’d gift this to either a man or a woman; it seems like a curious, distinct fragrance that has dignifiedly stood the test of time.

  • Perfume Pasion Lifestyle

One of the best for everyday wear and perfect as a signature scent. Its composition seems designed to attract, with sandalwood, vanilla, musk, amber, and tonka… but it’s so well-blended that it suits any occasion with good taste. Heliotrope makes the velvet-like vanilla refined rather than cloying, while the citrus and floral notes make it versatile. It’s perfect for smelling great without drawing attention, with a close sillage. Ideal for daily use.

  • carolanais

I absolutely love this perfume; nothing compares to it today. I could write ten pages praising its modernity and sophistication. Does anyone know if it’s still available? I can’t find it anywhere in Argentina or the US, so if anyone has info, I’d appreciate it. As a backup, the White version works. This isn’t really a review anymore—it’s a plea. Thanks!

  • charlotinable

The most refined sophistication and glamour you can bottle. Strong, potent, beastly, and powerful; it empowers and boosts confidence. I never detected any citrus, just almond, vanilla, sandalwood, and tonka bean—more than enough for me. Delicious talc, milky air, and as creamy as vanilla ice cream. I found it at a ridiculous price and didn’t hesitate to buy it. Simply bottled bliss.

  • Karina Sotelo

Brings back the best memories of my teenage years. Definitely in my top-of-the-top list.

  • Gemasevilla

Carolais, I’ve read there’s a good dupe in Saphir called Elle. I haven’t tried it, but it has great reviews.

  • A true delight. I used it when it first launched and thought it was for older women (35+), but I loved it so much that I used it a lot. I discovered that powdery scents are my thing; I don’t perceive the citrus notes, so for me, it’s delicious vanilla, powdery, and elegant. It stands out more in autumn and winter. I stopped using it and later found out it was discontinued. It’s unmistakable, subtle, discreet, not annoying but with presence. It lasts quite a bit on clothes.

  • mentadamaris

My dear Lei… what a life we’ve lived together! Loves, breakups, travels, studies… I bought it in 2011 at El Corte Inglés, unwrapping that golden foil and feeling like the most cosmopolitan woman. I was 26 and I loved everything: the bottle, the atomizer, and the scent. It was dry, talcum-powdered, with zero sweet vanilla, like a glass of chilled, expensive champagne. The scent is the bottle. When I was a little girl, I wanted to be sophisticated; with this perfume in my late twenties, I thought, ‘You’ve made it, María’. It’s complex, great, and not sweet at all. It lasted over 8 hours on skin, and on clothes, you can’t even imagine. If you find it, smell it, even if it’s not trendy anymore. What a perfume!

  • Clean, elegant, and super feminine, it defines sophistication. The top and heart notes fade quickly, with only the jasmine lingering for a bit, but the base lasts 10 hours and stays on clothes even after washing. The sillage is powerful. It’s versatile for any season. It reminds me of Victoria’s Secret Heavenly from the 2000s, which I loved. For me, it has everything—it lacks nothing and has nothing extra.
